My boyfriend and I came here pretty quickly after our drive from Las Vegas to Huntington, and we were needing some alcohol stat. And I truly mean stat. They have a large selection of alcohol and a really nice bartender. I saw another review for here that said they could really use something here to make them stand out. All I can say is that my first visit to Perqs was a night full of memories I will never forget!! Perqs is such a fun atmosphere! All the employees were exceptionally nice, welcoming, and attentive! The drinks were made to perfection, and I am a lemon drop martini critique! But I must say the live music was by far the best! Walter and the band were beyond awesome! My friend and I sang and danced all night! While Perqs is definitely an HB landmark, it is really nothing more than a typical dive bar full of a bunch of obnoxious local drunks. Nevertheless, I have had more than a few good times there over the past 30 years. read more

Perqs is THE BOMB on weekends. Always GREAT bands, no cover charge, cool bartenders, reasonably priced drinks, a nice sized dance floor and big screens with sports on in the background. One of the few places in Downtown Huntington Beach where you don't feel out of place on a Friday or Saturday night if you're over age 25. The demographics are age 30 - 60'ish and most bands that play there perform songs from the 60's to '80's with some new stuff thrown in as well. No food, no kids (21+ only), just an awesome old bar with lots of character. read more

I have been to perq's twice to see my friends 80s band perform. The good - ample parking nearby and drinks are pretty reasonable. My complaints - what's a sports bar without food? And the way the bar is set up if you arent sitting on top of the stage then the view isn't very good, if you are sitting on top of the stage then the speaker is very loud. Also in between the band's sets the bar played music, it was a little too loud to think. I will definitely be back to see the 80s band. read more

This was a cool little dive bar to stop in for a drink after some time by the water. We went in to get a few beers and cool off after a bike ride and it was good. The beer was ice cold, which is pretty much all I ask for on a warm day, and the service was fast. There weren't that many people there for a Saturday, and the crowd that was there were kind of all over the place, but it was a fun place to chill out for a little while. read more

Just as little as 10 years ago Huntington used to be a little more rough around the edges and something less of a gem that it is now. Kinda like the way the Disneyland area has slowly but surely become "more corporate" for lack of a better word. Just take a stroll down Downdown Disney 8pm on a Friday or Saturday. Perqs is a nice little dive. They are convieniently located right across from Fred's and at the beach end of Main. That means this place is just the right spot to start your pub crawl. You're crawlin' right? You walk in and you see about 7 or 8 digital flat screens, after all this is a sports bar although it has a divey feelin' to it. All the way in the back there is a stage for Jam night (Thursdays only). The bartenders are way cool not the stuck up and occasionally snobby you can find here and they make a stiff ass drink. The crowd tends to be older, not the dramatic-just-turned-21 types you find at Freds's afterdark or Hurricanes. There is ample seating as long as you don't come on 4th of July weekend but the only thing is they try to close early, like midnightish or 1-ish on Jam night. Meh, that OK it seems like whenever I say I'm too tired for a crawl we end up at Hurricanes or Sharkeez and sobering up into the wee hours of the morning. read more

This is a great bar to hang out and just people watch since it has stools that face out into the boardwalk with a counter to place your beer on. This bar is extremely laid back compared to the rest of the bars on main. The crowd is typically older but overall it's a cool place to sit, have a beer and enjoy the day without the madness of main st patrons passing out on the sidewalk. read more

Came here when my my parents came down for a visit on "Reggae Sunday". They had live music and several TVs so my dad could watch the Giants game and NFL game at the same time :). Good place to grab a beer after a surf. My short lived band played our first gig and packed the place, jammed it. Then we broke up a week later. They have an open mic Jam Night on Thursdays if you have a band, they will book you. Perqs - Sports Bars Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

I have been enjoying Perq's for years, but tonight I had an unfortunate experience. For many months one of the bartenders, Jay, has been ripping customers off. We locals have witnessed first hand, her double-charging clients for drinks. This is such a great spot to take in some great tunes and good vibes ... it is very unfornunate that this employee is treating customers this way. i would ask management to terminate this employee immediatly, and employ only personnel that will treat local cliental in an honest fashion and restore the integrity of this very cool establishment. read more

My wife and I had a loooong week and we were in the mood for some beers and live music. A friend suggested that we check out Perqs because it's the oldest bar in HB. I'm stoked that he made the suggestion b/c everything was great from the service, to the beer, to the live music. The band (forgot the name) blasted classic rock while we drank great draft brews. This karaoke guy here is an absolute jackass. We came in from out of town and a local at the bar said do not put a song in because he won't pick it, we came in at 10:00 and placed a request for 2 songs. Waited and waited, and at 1230 finally we finally went up and politely asked what position we were in. He then stated he didn't know and had to check his discard pile. Mind you, one of us stayed in there bar the entire time to listen for our name. So he finally said he would put us on the top of the list and we sat down. We saw him shuffling through the decks and finally he called. We were pissed and almost walked out but decided screw it let's just sing. So in the meantime, we saw there same locals go 3-4 times each and just figured they had put in a lot of songs. No. He was picking his favorites. read more
