Came by the other day for a snack and ordered 3 orders of Kobideh. The order came on a aluminum foil wrapped plastic tray?!? Sadly, the Kobideh was overcooked and had a slight sour smell/taste to it...maybe it was almost spoiled?!? And wasn't fresh?!? Parking is plentiful in the private lot and on the street...

A great market and a sleeper with great Iranian cuisine to boot. Tried the chicken kabob and the koobideh with both the normal rice/tomato and zereksh polo. Proteins were moist and well seasoned. For well under $10 they were good deals for he quality. After you can scan the range of middle eastern products. They carry sangak from Yenagen bakery, various Sadaf pre packaged items and some bulk and produce as well. Owners are super nice to boot. 4.3 stars

I came here for the koobideh kebabs. The set up and the food was similar but the people here seemed more grumpy.

Delicious kabobs and fresh juices of all kinds. And they sell really good sweets, including a great angel cake.

Great value for the money. Don't forget to ask for veggies when you make a to go order, otherwise, you will just get the meat and bread.

I got my usual Beef Koobideh (it was okay, a little bland compared to the persian places I have tried in Los Angeles, NJ, FL, etc...). The beef koobideh was larger than most other places and they gave a lot of rice too (which I like). My son got the Chicken Koobideh, he also thought it was okay... he was indifferent. I tasted a bite of it, it was also less flavorful than I would usually expect. My wife got the Jewel Polo with Steamed Chicken. She was the one with a not happy review, she was telling me that it was unlike any place she had ever tried and was like "All they did was lightly boil the chicken and put it in the tray". I didn't try it because that is not my dish, I only stick with Beef Koobideh anywhere I go. The people working here seemed very friendly, the customers were also very friendly since they seemed to know the workers and helped me flag down the main guy for a question. My review isn't to discourage anyone from this place. It just didn't hit the spot for my wife so I won't be able to give it a second try. As a south asian person, we like our food with lots of flavor and lots of spices... so you might find this place perfect for your palate. My wife kinda forced my hand on the topic, I would not beat them up as harshly (I ate all of my Beef koobideh and enjoyed it, but even left to my own opinion... I'd go back to my usual place for a familiar flavor). I only took one star off because of the feedback from my wife.

It took 10 minutes to get soda, 20 minutes for appetizers and over an hour for the main dishes. The waitress had all kinds of excuses: we got large orders, it's holiday, you ordered lamb, etc. Basic decency says that you should at least warn about the significant delays and let diners decide if they still want to eat there. I guess these guys are too greedy for decency. Despite the good food, I recommend avoiding unless you are ok waiting over an hour.

All of my Persian friends rave about Stone Stew being closest to what their mother cooks at home…read more Going in with my boyfriend, we ordered the Ghormeh Sabzi and Isafan Koobideh Kebab. They generously gave us their flatbread and hummus for free, which was delicious! The hummus has a bit more tahini and lemon than the other hummus I've tried at other Middle Eastern restaurants. The bread was phenomenal, I devoured a whole basket by myself within minutes. Lathered with their hummus, can't find this quality anywhere else. The Ghormeh Sabzi had a fresh herby, minty soup with kidney beans and ground beef. My boyfriend loved this and commented how it's like being in a Persian mom's kitchen. The Isafan Koobideh Kebab was well spiced and piping hot. The portions were large, it was a struggle for 2 people to finish 2 portions. I consider my boyfriend and I to be big eaters, but we were so stuffed! The owner came by to make conversation and was very sweet! Do support this small business, their food is great!

Came here for Mother's Day excited to try Stone Stew and left very disappointed and upset…read more First of all, always ask for a copy of your receipt. The owner has lots of hidden and outrageous charges. We were very disappointed that they charged us $37.99 for 1 skewer of koobiedeh & 1 skewer of chicken kabob with bone ($10 extra), oily rice and the smallest bbqed tomato. $6.99 for 1 cup of "homemade" lemonade sour and with crunchy sugar on the bottom. $13.99 for the smallest microwave reheated (cause even the plate was hot) kashkeh bademjan. And even more disappointed when we ordered a togo order of 1 skewer of chicken kabob & 1 skewer of chenjeh and being charged almost $60 dollars!!! You can see this on our receipt (that thankfully my mom asked for because when the bill came out we were shocked). - We asked the owner about all the charges and she just said "that's our menu charges" and walked away. The prices are outrageous for the quality, portion sizes and cheap corny decoration/table settings. Like plastic table coverings, pitchers for water, smelling piping in the bathrooms, servers running (literally running) around with $60 portions, come on! The owner claims it's a "whole Cornish hen" and that's why they charged us so much. Hmm. We are obviously Iranian and therefore have been to MANY Iranian restaurants, that was not a whole Cornish hen. If so, poor gal only had one breast, one thigh and one wing. And the yellow food dye they used on the chicken was stuck on my fingers after many hand washes. The koobiedeh's weren't bad but very dingy and thin. Not "por bareekat" as we Iranians say... not sure how to translate it. We won't come back again. I gave 2-stars because the Afghani bread they served was warm and fresh.

The ambiance of the restaurant was incredible: warm, inviting, and romantic. The service was also top-notch: efficient and speedy. We tried the tasting menu, and I'm so glad we did. Every single dish we tried was delicious, and we were able to try a whole range of dishes. The amount of food we got made the price worth it. By the time we were done with the cold and hot appetizers, we were already stuffed. They then brought out the entrees, which were so delicious we kept eating. And the desserts were the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Special highlights were the manti with garlic yogurt, artichoke with poached shrimp, lamb chops with dill-potato wedges, and the baklava. I highly recommend the tasting menu if you want to try a little bit of everything - the variety in the meal was really enjoyable. I will definitely be visiting again!
