Pam put together an awesome fresh arrangement of beautiful roses and was stymied by security when she arrived at my wife's workplace. She actually stayed there and called me to get my wife's phone number so that she could make sure that the delivery landed in my wife's hands. The person who paid and had these delivered called the customer service line to complain that these flowers were not what he ordered. The owner called my office (the recipient) i called her back and she began yelling at me about the person who took her call and message. I allowed her to yell, asked if she was done and wondered why she called me. She continued to yell and basically said its my problem since i didnt call her back fast enough too bad. Have you ever met someone and you just like instantaneously adore them? That's how I felt when I met Pam. This woman is something else. She is +65 but don't let her age fool you because she is a lean mean energizer woman on the go! She just doesn't slow down! My wedding planner recommended Pam to me with the highest praise. I met Pam on a Saturday afternoon as she was returning from a yacht party that she delivered flowers too. She had on an ankle brace because she twisted her leg but she was still moving at 75 mph. I was blown away. Anyways, I told Pam what type of flower arrangement I would like, what colors would be best, what kind of vases, etc. I had an idea of what I wanted but I had a lot of wiggle room too. Pam could definitely sense I needed some direction and guidance. She was very patient, showed me a lot of samples and ideas. In the end, we picked an amazing array of flowers. In addition, Pam is responsible for creating the backdrop behind where my husband and I sat. My husband and I wanted a sign behind us to say "A&E" in cursive. I promised Pam that I would send her a design of what I liked and I failed to send it to her so Pam just started jotting down some of her ideas and sent me a few suggestions. She worked closely with her designer to make the beautiful backdrop. However, she kept me in the loop the entire time. Every time she made a change to the layout or the color of the layout, she texted me to ask me if my husband and I liked it. I must have received ten images in a half an hour period but I didn't mind because I knew that she was concerned about my opinion. I absolutely loved the backdrop! When you're planning a wedding, you need someone you can trust and rely on to deliver the services you paid for. Not only did Pam arrange all of my flowers at my venue, she personally delivered my bouquet along with all the other flowers to my husband's home. She could have hired someone to do it but no, she did it herself. That type of personalized care is so rare so I am so grateful to have been a recipient of it. Worst experience ever! Today is my birthday and my sister ordered some flowers for me. The lady (later I found out that she is the owner) arrived by our condominium and called the intercom, but it wasn't working. Then she called me on my cell, I answered and I told her to wait for me downstairs for a minute. When I came outside, and that took me seriously a minute, nobody was there. I called her and asked where are my flowers. She started yelling at me that she left it in the lobby. I told her nicely that next time she is suppose to wait for the customer, after my words she got crazy and came back to yell at me more. I meant that she can't leave the flowers in the lobby, because somebody can come and steal it or destroy it, some people are crazy nowadays. She start to record me on her cellphone without my permission screaming that I'm not right. Not right in what? She was leaving and coming back to the lobby around 4 times. In addition, I don't know how she left my flowers in the lobby, because when I came the water was dripping from the box and she maid a mess. Edited to add: for months the occasional harassment continued. Threats to come to my wedding, a private yelp message telling me she feels bad for the man I'm marrying. I called her place of business and made it clear this harassment is to stop and she's not invited to our private event and I've never in my life heard someone lose it so badly. She was screaming, told me she'd have me arrested for calling her store, and continued to threaten to come to my wedding. Now, the venue had to call this woman and tell her she's not welcome. What a nightmare. It appears she is just an unhappy woman that picks someone to "bully" every few months, as she has many reviews that speak of similar situations of harassment and her flying off the handle. RUN AWAY!!!! -- I contacted this florist for a quote for my upcoming wedding. The quote was far off what anyone else estimated my simple request to cost. The owner was short and confusing over messenger, and it took me asking the same question multiple times to get a half answer. I was clear with my vision and request (lots of photos, color scheme, etc) and it was like she was trying to change my mind. I could tell she wasn't listening, so we went elsewhere. I heard she's wonderful in person - we never got that far, but the online communication was a turn off. I also noticed she reviewed her own business as 5 stars at least once with a fake review (turn off). Then, I had more strange interactions with the owner. I was able to find another florist that we're using with much better rates and clear communication. Apparently, North Suburban Floral services didn't like that. She saw my 2 star review on yelp, which now I'm changing to one star, because her response was an aggressive Facebook message 2 months after we stopped communicating saying "thanks for the review see you on the 13" -- I clarified she wasn't hired and she again later sent another message saying "see you in a few days." a threat to come and ruin my wedding? Although she seemed like a nice lady at first but she turned to be a person with no integrity . Here is my experience with Pam the owner. I sold her few fancy flower boxes and was promised the money after few days of the transaction claiming she is too busy to write a check. I trusted her since she has what seems to be a good flower shop plus shes an old lady. But day after day, week after week she kept postponing the check giving me a bunch of excuses. Which didn't make sense to me because writing a check requires no more than a minute. Long story short police was involved but she still refused to give me my boxes or my money back. She even sends me a message saying dont come to this property if you dont like it take me to court. I honestly don't care about the check more than I care about the principle behind it. Of course every story has two sides but I don't care how the owner will respond to this trying to make it look like im in the wrong here for trying to retrieve what's mine. Great florist for a super reasonable price! North Suburban Flower Co recently did my baby shower and it was my 4th time working with Pam. She did my wedding, a relative's funeral banquet, and few other jobs here and there. Pam always does fantastic work and listens to exactly what your vision is. I brought in several pictures off of Pinterest and asked for a 28 foot live Eucalyptus garland and Pam really delivered.... Figuratively and literally, she delivers and picks up all additional props day of (wood slabs, glassware, risers, etc.). All of my family and friends were marveling at how beautiful and unique the flowers were! She is definitely a little ball of energy, which may have scared some of the other reviewers, but as someone who has used her multiple times I promise, you will not be disappointed. We contracted Pam for a wedding last year in August. Of coarse due to covid we had to reschedule. It was a very stressful time. We dreaded calling vendors with such disappointing news. Pam couldn't have been nicer. She said no problem whatever you need me to do I got you! We didn't get the run around about how we have to pay more blah blah like other vendors we heard about. We picked a new date and Pam kept her promise. She is a flower genius. Not one thing was wrong. We added some last minute things and Pam was there for us with never with any attitude. So this was a VERY odd experience. My boyfriend sent me flowers for Valentine's Day. He had requested them to be delivered on Valentine's Day. They proceeded to call him the day before asking for me and confirming I had flowers being delivered to me. First, he was irritated that they tried to get in contact with me as they were suppose to be a surprise. Second, he had ordered them and specified delivery on Valentine's Day. The woman on the phone confirmed they would not be delivered until Valentine's Day. She then proceeded to deliver them a day early when I wasn't even at work. And it's funny that he didn't get the delivered notification until the next day. Well, I still loved my flowers. I did notice that the purple stalk looking flowers were already wilting from the middle down, the orange roses were delivered with hard crunchy leaves and browning petals like they were already on their death bed. I wanted to enjoy them at work for another day, but came in the next day to a bunch of dead flowers. For as much as these bouquets cost, this was absolutely unacceptable. I have ordered a ton of flowers from other florists in the past and they last AT LEAST a week. Even when my boyfriend buys from the grocery store on a whim, they last way longer than these sad things. After all this, my boyfriend reached out to get this issue resolved. She ended up saying she would replace them. Well again she called me to tell me she had a delivery for me and told me she was going to send me some roses in a different vase. I'm sorry but like I told her on the phone, if he ordered a beautiful bouquet that he specifically picked out, and it died because you sent me old dying flowers, you are expected to REPLACE them with the SAME thing he ordered in the first place. She also told me the girl that drives the Cadillac SUV to deliver them, may have had it too cold in the back. Nice excuse for your poor quality delivery. Now I got a bunch of random roses poorly thrown together with these little white flowers. Best part was, I was with a client when this woman delivered the flowers to my coworker and proceeded to loudly lecture her about how to tell my boyfriend they don't guarantee delivery times etc. she also sent a long text to my boyfriend about how they don't deliver specific times like amazon or UPS. I'm sorry but we understand TIMES may vary, but delivery dates should not unless specified. And none of this excuses the fact that you delivered us sh**ty flowers that died a day after I got them. Research the florist before you order from this unprofessional woman. My husband and I began our search for flowers a month prior to our wedding and Pamela was able to fulfill our need for two bouquets, two boutonnieres, and three center pieces at $250. Throughout our process, Pamela provided speedy communication, but lacked when it came to e-mail etiquette (grammatical errors, short, confusing). Her e-mails were concerning to me; I wondered if she would put as much effort into our flowers as she did into her e-mails. I found Pamela to be personable in person, but found her to rush when communicating over phone or e-mail. I found the bouquets that she made for us to be beautiful, but I don't feel she fulfilled my vision. I am shocked and appalled at the "customer service" at Suburban Floral Services. I ordered my mother flowers for her birthday. Not only were the flowers small and generic (compared to similarly priced arrangements from other florists), the delivery person was incredibly rude to my mom (banging on the door while ringing the bell repeatedly and treating the delivery like a complete inconvenience). I wasn't happy with what was delivered or the manner in which they were delivered so I emailed a complaint. I didn't request a redelivery of new flowers or a refund because my mom still thought the flowers were pretty and that's what mattered, but I wanted them to be aware that this is the what the customer is receiving. The florist at Suburban Floral Services then called my mother the next day and yelled at her for my complaint - my mom wasn't even aware that I had complained! My mom was so upset by the call. They turned what should have been a beautiful birthday gesture into a terrible experience TWICE and took it out on her. I would strongly recommend using anyone else for your flower needs. read more

If I could give a 0 for stars I would. I spent over $100 on a beautiful floral arrangement for a family member who lost his beloved dog. What he received was NOTHING close to the arrangement I ordered. The vase was cheap, the flowers were completely different and cheap as well as the arrangement I ordered had a ton of pink roses (this one had a few white and red roses and a TON of green crap all over). When I called, the florist (I presume the owner) started yelling that she would go pick up the flowers "right now" (at 8 o clock at night) and wound drop off the other arrangement the next day. I told her that's not appropriate it's 8 o clock at night and tomorrow would be fine. She then demanded I give her the phone number of the family member who received the flowers because she needed to "make sure he's home" so she could "get the other arrangement back." I refused to give her their number as I told her he works from home and would be home all day. She continued to ask for his phone number and I told her forget it I would just deny the charges to my card since she clearly is running some kind of scheme trying to charge people for beautiful arrangement and delivering complete crap probably in the hopes that the buyer would never find out. Do NOT order from this place, our conversation ended with her screaming "big deal it had a different case!" And then she hung up on me. I'm sure this lady does this all the time, charging for expensive arrangements and delivering extremely poor quality flowers and nothing like the picture because a lot of people probably never actually see the flowers they ordered for someone. read more

Friends sent me an orchid as a gift. On opening, I found the roots drenched in water, most already rotted. The delivery experience was similar to the one on 1/28/20. The delivery person called. First, I was yelled at because there would be no parking; I explained that there was plenty of free, legal parking. I used Pam for my wedding flowers this past June. This was the vendor I was most nervous about leading up to my wedding day, but she ended up being wonderful. I went with her because she had good reviews on yelp (thank you!!), and her prices were much lower than other florists I could find, but I was a little bit nervous because Pam seemed disorganized and a bit eccentric. The rest of my vendors were a bit more expensive and more "established" in the Chicago wedding scene (since Pam does more than just weddings, and is in the suburbs). Thankfully I ended up having no reason to worry at all! Yes, she had some trouble opening links I sent her of photos for my vision of flowers, and she was definitely loud and out there, but she listened the whole time and remembered everything I told her in the end!! My flowers were everything I wanted, delivered right on time, cheap, and 100% my vision, even though I had never seen any mock-ups from her before the big day and had to just trust that she understood what I wanted from her! I had 5 bridesmaids, a small flowergirl bouquet, 6 groomsmen, 2 mothers, 2 fathers, and 20 small centerpiece flowers for around 1k with beautiful pink roses, peonies (in my bouquet), and tons of blue hydrangeas. Pam even picked up 5 cakes and desserts my mother-in-law made when she dropped off my flowers and delivered them for me to the reception venue at the last minute!! She also happened to have a bunch of flower petals with her when she dropped off my bouquets, and so we ended up having petals for my flower girl to throw at no extra cost!! read more

I had flowers delivered through FTD to my Mom for Mother's Day and by Tuesday half of them were dead, my mom contacted Pamela Swanson at North Suburban Flower Company on 5/14 because she didn't want to get her in trouble with FTD. She said she was going to redeliver them, but that someone needed to be home -- my mom said someone is home until 11 a.m. any day -- the flowers didn't come. She called again on 5/16 and spoke with Pamela who again said someone would be out and nobody come, so finally she called a third time on 5/20 and spoke again with Pamela who said someone would be out and nobody came.
