Over the years, we have used VETCO shot clinic for routine shots (rabies, etc) (we have another primary vet for all other services) and the last visit was a scheduled appt, which was no faster than walk-in and wait in line. The check-in tech spent most of the time trying to up sell us. Then the vet prescribed a flee medication than he didn't discuss with us. Now I have a email stating the prescription is ready for pickup. I will not be going back to Petco or Vetco for any of my 4 dogs needs, ever! read more

We had an amazing experience at Petco! We were looking for a groomer to cut our dogs nails. He is a large dog and has anxiety. We were welcomed by our groomer with a smile and she explained the process. She took our dog back and kept him calm throughout the process. She was so good to our dog. Hello Furry four-legged families, I wanted to share my experiences with Petco grooming department. They are so good, they make my Thor labrador mix doggy, look so handsome. His coat is shiny, order free, and frizz tamed. Speaking from experience i tried a small business groomer, how ever low cost it was it was an awful experience tye owner seemed to micromanaged, over heard her talking negative of consumer, so I will stay with Petco the team, do a great job for my large handsome boy. This family owned company , which clearly includes their employees is wonderful. The attention to detail in the work they do is remarkable! I recently had two roofs done by them. Start to finish.... I highly recommend this company. Every little detail was taken care of daily and I mean daily. Same crew at each house every day, same project manager each day. Clean up , staples searched for staples with magnet , all trash picked up, yards were blown clean of all scraps and dirt and even some of our own leaves, etc Pictures taken each day after foreman reviewed days work. This place is horrible the girl with the blue hair is extremely rude not only to the customers but also the people that work there, specially with one of the groomers in the back, I am under the impression that the girl girl with blue hair is the manager and I feel sorry for the staff working h ser her because she always has an attitude and is always talking down on them. Story is always dirty short staffed under stocked and in educated staff. Not all,but both times I went I was stuck with a complete uneducated dog food basics of an employee. No coupons for new puppy parents and then spend 100 on king toys and then want to charge me .10 cents for a bag at that. Today I was fed up enough is enough when I'm looking for a great puppy food. High prices. This location seems to be offering more and more premium looking, not necessarily premium quality products. Think trendy pattern so charging $5-$20 more. That's not to say they don't have any actual premium products. We came in looking for some more basic products for our dog. We were unable to find what we were looking for anywhere near what we wanted to pay for it. We ended up making our purchase elsewhere, and for 1/3 of the price. Not much in the way of customer service. The only employees we saw were in grooming or at the one register that was open. This location does offer training classes. We came in today because we saw a kitten rescue would be there and I have been waiting patiently for my husband to get on board to get a kitty and today our anniversary it was the day. I am pleased to say I found the one and my heart is full. After finishing with the rescue we went through the store picking out things the kitten would need. The store was dirty, staff pretty much ghost like and don't get me started on the one cashier trying to help a very long line of guests. After quite a wait another worker finally appeared. They both looked miserable. I don't think I'd come again if that's a daily occurrence. We brought our Husky to get her vaccinations with Vetco. It was a great and fast experience. We waited about 2 minutes to be checked in as the staff was handling another pet. Once we got checked in they weighed our dog and we discussed the different vaccine packages. They let us know which one was best for our dog based on her age and what she needed. Then a vet held her and another vet gave her the vaccinations. They were all super friendly and treated our dog kindly. Our dog was not scared when they held her as he was gentle with her. We got her results for the heart worm test within 10 minutes. The online appointment process was easy. Overall Vetco was great and we will definitely bring our dog next year for her vaccinations. read more

Petco hurt my dog. My dog suffers from anxiety but has always done so well with Samson, she loved him! He was so so sweet to her she was almost excited to see him. However, he is no longer working here. So Rachel groomed her this time and my dog didn't even want to go in, I wish I would've stopped right then. When I picked her up she was in a panic, her eyes were BLOOD red and she didn't have her nails or ears cut like they were supposed to. Then I get home and realize her little tail has been shaven down to the skin and very sore and red. My heart is so broken that I put my dog through this. Her eyes are still red and from what I've read online it's most likely due to her being choked, whether it was intentional or not. A dogs eyes do not get that red because of nervousness or stress. Something was done to my dog. Rachel seemed annoyed when I mentioned her eyes. Also was told "it's nice to tip the groomers, hopefully you can do it next time" by the girl up front when she realized I didn't have cash. Don't take your dog here. -Manager is refunding me my $60 and offered to pay the vet bills. I will be taking her first thing in the morning if she is not better. read more

She went above and beyond in taking the time to try on and adjust several different types of harnesseson my pup until I was satisfied with the fit. Went to Petco two days ago and bought 3 fish. I asked the person assisting me about the warranty and she said I need to return the dead fish and bring in a sample of the aquarium water. The fish ended up dying over night. I called Petco the next day to let them know the fish had died and they told me the same thing, "bring in the dead fish and along with a sample of water". I put the dead fish in a ziplock bag and added water from the tank to it. The person at the register ended up being the same person who sold me the fish. She told me she couldn't refund me for the dead fish because the fish needed to be separated from the water sample. At no time did she or the person I spoke to over the phone mention anything about separating the fish from the water sample. I ended up going to Petsmart instead and bought the fish there. Petsmart doesn't require a water sample to return dead fish. Will not be going back to Petco for anything anymore. read more

i recently took my cat in to get his updated rabies shot at their vetco clinic and waited an hour, which is not the issue i don't mind a wait, only to be refused service because their veterinarian was afraid to get bitten. respectfully, if you are working in animal care and are afraid of the natural consequences of it, you should not work in that field. she also proceeded to be extremely judgmental over the fact that i did not sedate my cat and that i do not see a regular veterinarian for anything other than emergencies due to my current financial situation. read more

This was my 3 or 4th time we have brought our baby dog to this salon. It was as usual a horrible experience. Not once has his grooming done correctly. I kept going hoping that I would find just the right groomer but I have yet to do so. Either his face is completely and very visually uneven. His nails are not cut or not done evenly. This time it appeared that they had not even been done. When I brought this to the groomers attention I was told it would be an additional $5 to polish them. I just left this store with nothing I needed and extremely frustrated. The first thing was they had no carts. I then went to find food and treats for my newly diagnosed diabetic dog. I had a list of approved items but could not find any of them on my own. I couldn't find anyone to help me. I waited in line to talk to the sales person. I asked if they had a cart because I had a lot to purchase and I'm carrying the dog because he can't be left alone. She said, " ah no we don't have any" There were plenty with stocking items in them. I then asked if there was someone available to help me find these items. " um there is literally only 2 of us here." OK so that is a "no"? You can try and find him he is in the fish department. I called this location about a discrepancy with one of the products on petco.com. I was referred to the chat online. The online chat agent was terrible. I told him that I ordered an item that shows as a XXL on the main screen but I realized that once you add it to the cart the size switches and to an XXS. I was just wanting to confirm which size I actually ordered. The agent didn't seem like they wanted help me at all. It was really bad. I usually go to another pet store but by the time I was off work, I was certain that my usual Go To place would be closed. I was in the vicinity and thought I would try Petco. I scoured the store and finally found a cooler refrigerator with discount wax worms. 50% off. Then, when I was at the cashier's, I inquired about super worms and they had them upfront. Once upon a time in America, it was acceptable to expect that the customer would be treated well, and when insistent, the customer would be accommodated within reason, if they had a legitimate complaint or issue that they brought to the attention of a staff member, or even management. My wife and I walked in, looking simply for a leash and a collar at this location And then only did we not receive any assistance or help. We noticed that there was a clearance baskets towards the front near the register check out stands so we began to look for something a little bit more affordable than the 30 or $40 leash and collar sets that seem to be standard at this location. We did not find anything except we did come across one complete set that had a collar and a leash but didn't appear to have a revised price tag for being in the clearance bin. This particular item was the same as the items that we were seeing on the shelf around the $30-$40 mark. When we approached the checkout stand and asked the lady why there were others that were similar That we had noticed that were marked down to $9.99. She said that the price gun must have marked them wrong and that just because it was a clearance bin didn't mean that they were discounted but simply stock that they were trying to get rid of And could even be the original price it was on the shelf. This made no sense to my wife or myself. My wife who is normally very calm and patient and I am the one to overreact in this case, took it upon herself to take a picture of the multiple products marked incorrectly And has promised to contact the manager at this location. There's no room for the customer to be right anymore at any merchant outlet or restaurant facility. This polite mentality extended by merchants once upon a time just doesn't exist in America anymore. I do not recommend this location staff member, who tried to help, was very rude inconsistent with her responses, and overall and accommodating to us as customers all together. read more

Unfortunately this is the closest pet store to my house so I have been here quite a few times in the past couple years , the past 6 months I've noticed it getting more and more disgusting every time I'm in , and today was HORRIFYING ... looks like they're changing things up a bit and moved the shelves and I've never been so grossed out in a store . No , they were not in the process of cleaning , it was mid day and no one was even attempting to take care of the urine build up and the SMELL . Not to mention the staff half the time seems they couldn't care less about anything , I ask to test water before buying a fish and the girl rolls her eyes when I ask to test the ammonia . Again , not a one time thing , this has been getting worse everytime I'm there . I also find they mislabel sale items constantly so you get to the front with the bed that the sign said was on sale , to find out it's 200 dollars and not on sale , the on sale ones are 10 far away on the very bottom under all the other beds . if i could give this a 0 star i would, i came into this store not knowing that i was going to be targeted and racially profiled because of my race, trying to find shoes for my dogs since they had no selection i ended up leaving the store, as i was on my way out a the girl at the register asked if i was ok i told her yes i was. she then proceeded to ask if i was going to pay for the bag of puppy pads i had in my hands, i was confused and shocked and said excuse me and she again proceeds to say if i'm going to pay for the item i'm my hand. i told her i didn't have anything in my hands aside from my ross bag which was purchased at another store , she then proceeds to tell me to not sass her. to be racially profiled because i'm hispanic does not give anyone the right to assume i am stealing and to be targeted as if i had is absolutely not okay this is not how you treat your guest and customers. mind you the girl who racially profiled me was caucasian and i didn't see her ask anyone else this question. she was rude and talking under her breath as i left the store. i did call to talk to management and all she told me was it seemed like a misunderstanding. as someone who who is in management myself this is not how you approach customers you don't assume they stole something without knowing 100% sure this why cameras are set in the store. this can escalade a situation and someone can seriously get hurt for false accusations which i was falsely accused, and racially profiled. Petco needs to better train their employees especially if they think a customer is stealing cause this was not the proper protocol in this situation. it was very apparent that i was being targeted because of my race, falsely accused of stealing , as well as being embarrassed for everyone to see the whole ordeal i will never step into this establishment again if this is how they treat their customers. shame on the girl and shame on the manger for condoning her actions and mistreatment to me because nothing about this was ok or a misunderstanding. read more

Just took my five-month-old puppy for his first bath and nail clipping I've been trying to get him in there for months but the lady I've been talking to in the grooming salon was super rude and wouldn't even call me back and when I walked in there I just didn't even seem like she wanted to be there. I waited and called waited and called until I finally got in touch with the manager of the grooming salon Rachel and she ended up washing and clipping my dogs nails for me because I didn't even want to talk to the other lady. When I went to go pick him up Rachel was no longer there and the other lady told me that I couldn't get my dog because she wasn't there even though his paperwork was right in front of her she couldn't even figure out which dog was mine in the kennel.
