Service and staff were very friendly and it's a super chillaxing environment but not exactly happy with their grooming service that they did for my Corgi. I went in to pick up my puppy from getting a haircut and nail trim and I was told to go pay first and based off the report card it seemed that our dog did a great job. However when I picked up my Corgi and then brought her to my car I found that they barely cut my dog's hair at all and that some places were still shaggy for a 5 month Corgi. Just not a very big fan of paying before I see what a grooming service has done to my pup. Will likely not come here again. read more

This review is for Nicole. My 5 year old daughter and visits the Cottle location weekly. This week, we were fortunate enough to bump into Nicole as she was cleaning the fish tanks. She was awesome with my daughter - she showed her all the animals and insects for sale and explained many fun facts about them! There were dead fish in many of the tanks. We even saw some fish CANNIBALIZING the skeleton of the spine of an already dead fish.. In general, all the fish looked so sad and despondent rather than swimming around happily as I've seen in other pet stores. We also saw some mice chasing and aggressively fighting each other. Just seems weird why the animals are behaving so strangely??? Perhaps it is the environment or quality of care of these animals from this store. Wow! I love this Petco! It's in such a busy plaza and the interior is so clean and big! So glad I went here after a bad experience at Petco Tully's new manager and his big, grubby, and bare hands catching and squeezing my fish babies to death! Y'all ever heard of a net? Chris was so nice and bubbly on the phone! When I called again I asked for him and he always knew what to say/ do when it came to caring for my fish. He was helpful and accommodating throughout my multiple calls. He was not in store when I came in today, but referred me to Kayleigh. Kayleigh is Cottle Petco's animal specialist and a darn good one at that! She may not be an aquatic specialist, but she is very knowledgeable when it comes to freshwater fish. She assured me Petco Cottle's partners would not be terrible with my fish as they were at Tully. She is very sweet. Javier helped me in aquatics! He also a cool and patient guy who might as well be their aquatic specialist because he knew so much more than I when it came to mollies and tetras. He helped me find some thicc shrimp to take home, as well as some pretty mollies. Cierra helped me at last with register and thanked us for being so patient with another cashier. No, thank you! She helped me refund my dead Tully fish and she made insightful comments about dogs and told another customer deer antlers are good for pitbulls, which I definitely will invest in for my bully. Lastly, a new team member (we guess), was Jimmy! He had a positive attitude and seemed happy to be there! He's doing a great job! All in all, all the team members I mentioned above represent Petco with exceptional qualities! They are all so diverse and you can all tell they genuinely enjoy their jobs! What an amazing team! This review is for the Grooming Service. Hands down to one of the best grooming tech Chris! He is suuuuuper friendly & helpful. I was a bit nervous because Goku haaaates getting groom & being inside the crate. Often times the grooming tech cannot fully groom or trim his nails. However, I am soooooo glad to have met Chris. He is AMAZING! Idk how he did it but my fur baby is super happy! From this day on, Chris will be the one & only grooming tech for Goku. I highly recommend booking with Chris! If you do care about your dog please do not do grooming here! I'm in tears since yesterday that I took my dog for the grooming here and I couldn't recognize her after I saw her! My fluffy ball maltese was shaved! The groomer told me at first that my dog's body hair is in very good condition but after I complained about my dog being shaved she mentioned that they do not have time & the proper equipment to trim her hair the way I was expecting. Even the shave is very bad. Some parts has less and some more! I had to pay for it while I was so disturbed by their grooming job. Unacceptable!!!! I frequent Petco for (a) dog food, and (b) 30-lb. litter tub refills. On any given visit, I am leaving the store with 100+ lbs. of merchandise, which obviously (I would think) requires a shopping cart to get out to my car. The last (and I do mean last) time I visited Cottle Petco, my shopping list included one 12-lb. bag of dog food and three 30-lb. refill tubs of cat litter. I walked in the store and, per usual, couldn't find a cart. When I asked an associate about it, she stated that their carts don't have theft-prevention locks, keep getting stolen, and that they were currently waiting for more to come in. Hey Petco, how about you spend the extra money on carts with theft-prevention systems instead of repeatedly purchasing the same basic carts that keep getting stolen? Just a thought. Anyhow, when the associate saw that I was carrying several litter tubs for refill, she told me to let her know when I was done filling them and someone would help me get them "to the front of the store". Since this clearly doesn't help me get them TO MY CAR, I opted to fill just one tub since this was all I could carry and I certainly wasn't interested in making several trips back and forth from the store to my car. Ridiculous. I filled my litter tub, got it to the front of the store, and paid my $10.91. The cashier stood there, silent, as I clearly struggled to remove the 30-lb. tub from the counter and carry it out the door. It pisses me off just thinking about it. What did I do about the dog food and two other tubs of litter I needed? Well, I drove the 4.5 miles to the Blossom Hill Petco where, not only do they have WAY more parking, but also have PLENTY OF CARTS, which are mandatory for my heavy purchases. (Side note, Cottle Petco: I spent $80.21 at Blossom Hill Petco after leaving your store.) Long story short, despite the fact that I live 0.5 miles from Cottle Petco, from now on I will be doing all of my pet supply shopping at Blossom Hill Petco. read more

The place is always clean and well organized. Everyone is always just so helpful with any questions that we may have. They where so knowledgable on dogs. They knew the best most common treats that dogs liked and well also food. I went see the vet that comes every Sunday even they where so helpful with any questions that we had its the first dog that me and fiancé had together. All I can say is that everyone was very helpful and it's been my go to store since 2019. read more

If I could give this Petco a zero I would. This Petco is trash. All my experiences have been bad let me give you a couple of examples... Two times I had returned the light bulbs I had gotten and the two times I returned them they were dead!! The same reason I returned them is the same result I got back so there for they restock their return items. Second issue is they are always outta stock for something and it's annoying. The employees are nice though I always have a good conversation with them. I don't want anyone else to waste their money if this petco works great for you great, but for me it doesn't and if anyone has had the same experience as me just know you aren't alone. read more

I normally don't review retail places, but I felt the need to give a shout out to these guys. This Petco just opened and we were taken care of really well. Even when an employee couldn't answer a shampoo question he got one of the groomers who was extremely helpful and friendly. Probably the best customer service at any pet store I've been to. I loved how each employee tried to pet our dog and make friends, it felt nice to see they care. To top it off, they went out of their way to point out a coupon that we could use and even helped pick out treats. Great service all around from everyone! My only complaint was the music seemed really loud, it definitely wasn't normal 'background' volume. They might still have other opening 'jitters' like that. Maybe this review is great because of their brand new and trying to impress people, I don't know. But this store is now the closest to us and I will be very glad if they keep up the good start! read more

So pissed off. I went yesterday to get my puppy groomed, as I walk in to my appointment me and the employee who greeted me went over with how I wanted my puppy's haircut. Both her and I went through some of the knots that I don't deny he had on his legs never on his face!! So I told her and showed her a picture of what he has to look like, and it was beyond horrible!! When I complained and told her and another groomer, who was cutting my dog's hair and told me that she had to shave him because off all the knots which is a LIE!!!!!!! I clearly went over every single small knot with the other groomer and she even said he didn't have that many. So MAD this is horrible! So beyond upset and I'm writing a letter to corporate for the bad experience!! Yes I know it will grow back, but the lack of communication and grooming skills were ridiculous non existent. One of the employees there made me sooooo stressed. I think her name was Samantha. Long brown curly hair girl. I brought my dog into the store to make sure I get him the right cone. He had just finish getting surgery and I'm already freaking out because the vet had to restitch him after getting neutered and vet said to get the cone immediately. So yeah. I wanted her to check if he's bleeding because I get wheezy and immediately... she started coming at me saying "he shouldn't even be out and you need to take him home right now." "He's stressed and this isn't right" "don't do that again" this and that. K lady. I asked if you can check if he's bleeding not stress me out and tell me what I should be doing, making me feel like an abusive pet owner. Honestly, I've never been so stressed with high anxiety in the span of 5 minutes before. This conversation with Samantha you was absolute hell. Thanks for the horrific experience! Awesome place! This place is very, VERY clean. I love that they have much more toy options for dogs. However my review is for the grooming dept. I usually have to take my dog in to get her nails clipped every month or so, but the location I usually go to have been giving me problems. So I went to this locations grooming dept. and watched from the window. I loved that they didn't tell me to stay away from it or not watch her get her nails trimmed. The groomer was very gentle with her, my dog usually gets riled up when people touch her feet (especially with the previous location) but not here. She also got it done quickly! I LOVE that her nails aren't touching the floor now, at the previous location, , they couldn't even do that, they told me that's as short as it can get. Now her nails won't scratch my living room wooden floors. Thank you! read more

Service Wise its okay. Customer service wise its not okay. They just canceled the appointment we had because my dog was 20 mins late. We had left home and got caught up in traffic on the way. We did call to explain the situation but no one picked up the phone. And then they dint think they should call us first. They just started calling people on the wait list. I think that was not okay. While i take responsibility of being late no matter how the traffic was and unforeseen situation, i think they should have called us first to check on us - because thats what people do - not just others but petco itself has called to check on me for earlier appointments if i was 5 mins late. read more

how about getting that six to eight inches bedding for the little hamsters first before giving lectures to customers about how to take good care of them? woman from the office said that she could not afford bedding for them because "we are a retail store". I mean could you be a little smarter to maintain your hypocritical strategy of doing business. If anything that I have learned from this store is that they highly recommend their customers to NOT recycle as they do not agree for the hamsters to hide inside structures made of toilet paper rolls or just any useful things inside your house that could be served for the same purpose. And she tried so hard to be an asshole to request a lid for a 10 gal tank saying that a roborovski dwarf hamster can climb out of the tank... she was certain as if she had seen such a case provided that all the dwarf hamsters be living on a 1 point 5 centimeters bedding... not even an inch so metric in your face. Have fun working through the holidays protecting him, woman! I believe in you! You were an asshole from the start; and therefore, you deserve every bit of that attitude from me to you. All the reason you can work from your huge brain to refuse the sale of the hamster was about my attitude because you know you lost when it comes to being knowledgeable about raising hamsters. You don't deserve your position there. Imagine running to the back to grab a box as tiny as a period pad to house the hamster; you ran so fast to grab that box; and I enjoyed your service for a second; thank you so much! read more

A few months ago my local pet supply store closed and relocated but not near me. Luckily this place just happened to pop up! I love that I am able to get all my pet needs in one stop. They frequently have sales and specials for members which I love. I've learned to utilize the coupons they send in the mail and to my email. It's convenient, the parking lot is huge, the sales people are friendly, they always greet when anyone walks thru the door, and it's really clean. They also offer kitty adoptions and pet grooming. A few days later, after having looked into the problem, the store manager called me and was very friendly and apologetic for the issues with the phone calls and trying to set up an appointment with a groomer. I had a 1 star experience that turned into a 5 star experience! I recently moved to this location half a year ago. From just looks, this store is very clean and well kept. Today was my 5th time to this location and for this visit, I went to pick up food for my dog. When I went inside, there were no carts to be seen. I asked the guy at the cash register, Naveen, if there were any carts. Over the speakers, he asked for cart rounding. I stood there waiting. When I looked around, I saw there were a people in red shirts and someone was just finishing her shift and was leaving. I didn't see anyone walk outside to round up carts.. I then asked the guy if someone was getting the carts.. Well... the lady (in a wife beater & with her gut hung over her waistband) he was ringing up told me "to go outside and look for them myself". I told her that she needs to mind her own business, I wasn't talking to her then she went on to tell me I "need to stop acting so entitled".. long story short, I told her to shut up and she wanted to outside and fight.. and kept repeating it. A nice lady in line was rang up by another guy (he said he was the manager there...) and then gave me her cart. As I walked away, she kept talking. I came back and I was heated.. as Naveen was ringing me up, he apologized for her behavior and let me know they noted her info down and will be informing the afternoon manager. I had asked who the manager was and it turns out it was the guy at the second register.. I told him they should not be serving clients like her. He was there for half the time she was talking cr*p but said he arrived after and wasn't sure what was going on. Naveen then informed him that the lady was threatening to hit me. I explained that I would have just gone to pick up the 35lb dog food and forget the cart but last time I did that, I hurt my back.. I have scoliosis. This review is for the cleanliness of the store, Naveen's 5 star customer service, and my other great experiences at this store. Minus the one star because the store manager was there and should have told her to mind her own business. His customer service attitude was nonexistent. DO NOT GO HERE FOR PET GROOMING. My dogs never had fleas since I owned them. I pay for pest control at my home so it is flea-free. I bathe my own dogs regularly and give them regular flea medication. They came back from petco with fleas AFTER they were groomed. The staff is rude and they acted like they were doing me a huge favor for grooming my dogs. They presume that all dogs are there to get the premium service grooming level despite signs that suggest customers can opt for less costly packages. The woman seemed offended when I asked about the price she told me and the signs saying different prices. There are tons of pet groomers in the area so there should be no problem finding better providers. SERIOUSLY AVOID PETCO ON COTTLE. read more

The customer service is really lacking. Hardly any people in the store to help you aside from the people at the register. Unfortunately this store is really understaffed. Not enough groomers - so it takes forever to get an appointment for cut and wash. I think that's also why there are hardly ever people aside from the cashiers to help. Otherwise the store is pretty clean and they have a lot of items. The aquariums could use a better attention. A lot of times, I see fish eating dead fish. But primarily, I'm concerned with the amount of employees. Please hire more people for this location! read more

I used to be a monthly faithful customer for this PetCo's grooming department since it first opened its doors--but no more. :-( Several months ago, Krystal (or is it Crystal?) and the other groomers who were working there at the time regularly groomed my dog and would always leave her looking beautiful! I was always a happy customer. Unfortunately those groomers are now gone; they don't work there any more. The last two times, Kathy (I think that's her name; she is Asian looking lady) has groomed my dog and she does not have the touch that Krystal and the previous Petco groomers used to have. The previous groomers would make a standard clean face look cute on my dog. It is frustrating that Kathy both times has managed to make my dog's standard clean face cut rather ugly. Also, in multiple places in the bodywhere the cut should have been even in length Kathy did not do that. For example, Kathy cut my dog's tail in such a way that several rather long obvious chunks of unsightly hair stick out at the end of the tail. The first thing my family said when they saw my dog back from the most recent grooming by Kathy is how ugly my dog looked! :-( They said I wasted my $60. They joked that they could have groomed my dog with that look for free. I also asked Kathy and her manager NOT to use any fragrance on my dog. They wrote down those instructions, but Kathy ended up putting fragrance on my dog. I have very bad allergies and that fragrance made me literally sick. My mother in law has to bathe my dog again to wash off the fragrance. I called this store about the perfume and was told by a manager that an assistant manager would call me back. It has been several days and I have received no such call. Another point of frustration: It is easy to understand Kathy in person, but on the phone it's pretty much impossible to understand what she is saying, Finally, I was recently informed that they'd have to charge me $7 for using my own shampoo. I told them that my dog didn't need any special treatment with my shampoo. I just wanted the groomer to apply my shampoo the way she'd apply their own shampoo. I was told it'd still be $7. That is a rip off. $7 is too much. read more

After buy my dog's food I hit my knee against a large bolt loop screwed into the check out counter. This incident almost caused me to pass out. The store clerk completely ignored me so I asked for the manager. The manager was also indifferent to this and told me its to hold your leash. I told her that this is a hazard and continued to tell me it's to hold a dog leash. Due to this indifference I will not shop here again. read more

The manager, I think its Bradley, the white guy, was not really professional and friendly. This is a pet store and you should expect a lot of pet lovers whether they are kids or families. You need to be friendly and enthusiastic and know your stuff. Also, you need to be knowledgeable. and able to offer advice. The fish department at Pet Smart at Curtner is at least 100 times better than you guys. I don't know how you can become a store manager there as you do not live up to the standards. To contextualize it, when you are helping a customer at the dept, you see someone standing there waiting for help, you need to signal to the next customer or say something letting him / her know that you will be right with him / her. Or you really should finish with one customer first before moving onto the next customer and when you are done, go back to the previous customer and finish it and do not let customers hanging there. When you are tied up, use your walkie and ask your subordinates for help. Remember, you are the manager. All these are very BASIC and you should really work on that. However, the girls work there are friendly and professional. One of them should be promoted to replace him. read more
