First, I was lucky enough especially during these days to find a car I wanted without waiting. The whole process took less than 24 hours. I was checking BMW USA website , and it showed that this particular car is " on the lot". I sent in my inquiry , in less than 15 minutes , I received an email from Ali Ashrafi. At first he thought the car was pre-sold especially for this 4 series, but it turned out that the car was not allocated to anyone. As a good salesman, he went to the lot and took picture of the car that they just received early in the day just to make sure the car is there. On PeterPan website, that car is still showing "in-transit". The car still needs to go though pre-delivery inspection. I came down to the dealership right away to put down the deposit , and secure the car, it was 5:15pm, in 30 minutes I am done. On 2nd day, the whole signing process took less than 1 hour. Ali was very responsive throughout the whole buying process. He shows me some features on the car, such as digital ID, even help me inspect the car to make sure there's is no scratches/dent. The finance advisor manager, Tom was not pushy at all to get me sign up on the add-ons. He did explain everything briefly. I like how we sign everything (besides the DMV paper) on the table digitally, and they gave me a USB drive for documents I signed. I will definitely come to Peter Pan for my next BMW. read more

Came here to look at a car, turned around to leave. No one here wears a mask. They don't even bother to put one on as they approach to talk to you. BUT there are signs for customers to wear a mask. Me and my spouse had a horrible experience with Peter Pan BMW in San Mateo. We never had an experience where we felt got talk down to, unappreciated for the business especially this is a large ticket item purchase. We are ready to purchase the vehicle the very same day but the experience deter us from ever coming back again. We have such a large network in the Bay Area and will be spreading the words to all of our friends and family to avoid this location at all cost. We understand the sales advisor has to make a living as me and my spouse are both in sales however the lack of service is totally unacceptable. From the moment we walk in, no one greeted us and ask how can we help you even though more than half of dozen sales are not with customers. After standing there for about ten minutes, I finally walked over to one of them to ask for help. We are here to buy a nice car and not a beggar. Then we told the rep the car that we were interested and was handed the key and was told "check out the car yourself and come back with questions" and "But don't drive the car away, will need your ID for test drive". After we came back, we said we were interested for a test drive but the same person already helping another party although we were here at first. Then we test drove the car by ourselves without any explanations and still no service until this moment. Came back, we like the car and ready to place an offer but have some questions on the function and condition of the car. Finally got another person to walk to the car to answer our questions. We were interested in a certified preowned vehicle and interested to see there is anything we can do to minimize the visibility of the wears and tears. The next thing we know is we felt like someone just slap our faces by being questioned you know what a rock chip is (Sales rep emphasizes that three times) and he said arrogantly just buy a new car if you are looking for a better condition car. Yes we know certified pre owned is not perfect like a brand new car but how you say that matters - that is the fundamental sales skill 101. At the end, he pointed out on our way back to the store front that is a brand new car same series is going for $150,000 if you want it. This is such an insult with the overall experience. We didn't even talk about the price and just left. The very next day, went to a different store and drove out a car happily. I hope management will see this because branding matters a lot. I deliberately did not put the sales rep's name because as the sales industry goes, if a customer/prospect complains, coaching is definitely needed! read more

While I appreciate being approached almost immediately, the salesman asked which cars we were interested in. Upon giving him five options, he said, "ok let's take a look at the numbers inside." When we got inside, he asked how I plan to pay for it, "finance or pay with a check for the full amount?" Then followed by asking me what my credit score is, etc. That seems pretty standard right? But prior to coming inside to go over the financial details, any good salesman would at least grab the keys so you can look inside the car, get a feel for it, maybe even test drive it???
