It was by pure chance we came in here for breakfast on a Saturday morning The place was popping, but the service was OUTSTANDING!!! We had a short wait, and then the manager totally blew our mind!!! My fiancé is a HUGE fan of the punisher. And after seeing his shirt (which featured The Punisher) she sat him in the EXACT same spot the Punisher sat in!!! My fiancé couldn't have been more excited. I ordered chicken fingers ($11) and curly fries ($6) and I received FOUR (?!) 4" chicken fingers that were clearly from a big bag of frozen ones. The fries were uninspired and not crispy by the time I got them. Combine that with the $3 delivery fee and I can't imagine why I would ever order from there again, or visit in person. I can do the same with Swanson's and a microwave. Extremely disappointing. Quick recap: best diner I've been at in New York. Incredibly friendly, reasonable prices, clean, and most importantly, banging food. Ordered the special that came with eggs bacon ham sausage and pancakes. Also got French toast with one scrambled egg. All delicious, but the French toast was the weakest link. There are not many diners that give you the sense that they care from the minute you walk in the door, but Petes Grill certainly gives you that sense with a wonderful welcome from Nadia who is just an amazing, polite & caring manager. The food is always excellent and tonight I had the roast turkey dinner. It made me feel like it was Thanksgiving, it was soo good. I was missing the Dirty Pierre's brunch so while holed up at home I decided to give this place a try for delivery. I had done some research on good omelette places near my apartment and this looked good. Ordering was easy on their website. The food arrived a little past the posted delivery time but considering what we all are going through right now, not a big deal. I received a decent sized cheddar cheese omelette, with a large order of sweet potato fries. Where I was disappointed was that I ordered a toasted cinnamon raisin bagel and received a plain bagel. I double checked the enclosed order sheet and verified that I had ordered the correct bagel, they just sent the wrong one. If they had let me know beforehand that they were out of cinnamon raisin bagels I would have understood. Oh well. The food itself was pretty good. The omelette was fresh tasting and very good. Home sick from work today, so I decided to order matzo ball soup to be delivered from Pete's. It cost $12 for two small containers... no noodles, no chicken, not a single vegetable. Just a matzoball floating in some very watered down and oily broth. I'm pretty shocked at the audacity of serving a menu item like this. I was hoping to get two large hearty contains so I would have leftovers while I fight off this cold, but I'm already about to dig into the second container since I pretty much just payed $12 plus tip for two bread balls in water, which doesn't even constitute a single meal. This has got to be one of the worst Diner type food spots I have ever been. There were about six of us and every single one of us were not happy with our food. First, there's like no options. And the biggest section is probably their burgers. If your burgers take up most of the menu, shouldn't it at least taste decent? You KNOW it's bad when you have to put more salt and pepper on the burger even when you got one of the specialty ones. Burgers were dry af and they need to change the buns. It's also bad when I say my school fries are better than their fries... yikes. Also, our server didn't get our order right and got a french onion soup instead of onion rings.. lol... and then he insists we got the soup. This is a great place to eat American diner food in Sunnyside Queens New York I love their broiled Atlanta Salmon is simply delicious in flavors and texture. I also had their Eggs Benedict which happens to be one of my favorite things to eat for breakfast, and they deliver with great flavors. I came here with a group of friends at 130am. It was empty and we were seated quickly. It did take a while for the waiter to come get our order. One person in our group ordered before everyone else and got her food rather quickly. Everything else from there went downhill. For starters, they are very overpriced. From my friends account the food was just blah. We ordered buffalo wings, which came 8 to an order for 12. Not bad, but the wings are small and my friend said you can get this at any crown fried chicken lol. My other friend had a salmon burger, which she said was tasteless. I ordered a chocolate mouse cake. I expected actual cake, but it was just moose encased in chocolate. so i asked the waiter to change, and he said he would have to ask the manager, so i asked for him. He was very short, took the cake and exchanged it for a 7 layer cake which he said was light chocolate (didn't know what that meant, as i was looking for a chocolate cake ) the cake came vanilla with light chocolate mouse frosting encased in fudge and sprinkles on the edge. ‍. I accepted and tried it anyway. It was very wet and surrounded by chocolate syrup and and whip cream which made it wetter. So as far as the food goes, it's a two. Service: it was subpar at best. There was one waiter who came to our table maybe 50 times during our meal. It became a little uncomfortable feeling watched over while we dined. Our original waiter came to check on us maybe 3 times. It felt like they wanted us to leave. The waiter started clearing the table while we were sitting there still eating ‍. I don't think i will come back here. The food wasn't good, the service matched the food, and it wasn't a friendly place to myself and my friends. read more

They're so friendly, literally everyone (even the cook) said bye. The food options are vast, but don't let that scare you. For the most part, everything we've ordered has been really good. Like the Pied Piper leading swarms of his conquering soldiers over the beaches of Queens to drive back the occupying Axis of Evil we came and liberated this tiny diner from the clutches of oppression and liberated pancakes, eggs, burgers, and brisket into the mouths of FREEDOM! I really wish I was dressed up as William Wallace with blue paint on my face as in Braveheart as our horde of post-Elite event hungry and buzzed Yelpers stormed this castle. The look of terror on some of the staff here conveyed a mix of fear and confusion as our very large (around 25 people) and loud gathering took command of the whole front dining room and commenced to take the place apart and rearrange the furniture to fit us all in. Honestly though, the staff here was super accommodating and patient. Big props have to go out to our waiter, Gustavo, who took care of each and every one of us. You know what is kick ass? He actually separated our checks so each one of us received a separate bill. Made it really easy for us to each pay our own share, and we of course hooked him up. He should be made an honorary Elite member, as he was that good with us. Dayum son! The food? Standard diner fare, but the type that you want to eat after a night out drinking and in need of post-drunk stick to your bones belly filling food. Blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, burgers, fries, Irish breakfast, sausages, you name it - we devoured it. Soak up the alcohol type meals. Gustavo made sure we all received our food pretty quickly and they did a good job setting us all up. Gotta remember this diner if ever in the area again. Even though a certain waiter here said I sound like Fran Drescher, I'm still going to give this diner 4 stars. Why? 1. The establishment let in a group of 20-30 drunk Yelpers with no hesitation. 2.
