If you want over priced mediocre food this is the place for you. We got a pastrami sandwich, a kids meal that had 3 small chicken fingers and some fries, and one simple grilled cheese with no French fries, and paid $45. The kids meal was $11 and the plain grilled cheese was $7. Again the pastrami sandwich was lack luster, and the other 2 items tasted exactly like they would have at Dennys or any other place with a cheap kids menu. My father and I were staying at an Airbnb two blocks from the diner, and it seemed well reviewed so we stopped in for brunch last Sunday. It was so good we went back two more times during the week we were in town. The omelets are very good, and there's a wide variety. Breakfast is available all day. The pancakes were too big for me to finish along with the scrambled eggs. I also had a burger that was good. Service was always excellent, even though the place was really busy two of the three times we went. Seems like it does a lot of business on the weekends, and it can be hard to get a table. Dinner hour during the week was fine. I can't speak to any times besides those. I would give five stars but for a couple small issues - my dad ordered what was supposed to be something akin to a western omelet, and it had some kind of strange filling in it that he couldn't identify and didn't like. And the burger was just so-so, nothing terrific, I can't even remember what I had on it. But in all, I would recommend this place to anyone who's staying in the neighborhood and wants reasonably priced, tasty food. read more

***Delivery review***** Ok,so sometimes things take an unexpected turn and you end up ordering delivery and watching Ted 2 on vacation. Believe me this was not by choice......but due to someone having a severe illness all day, dinner plans at Zum Stammish (next time!) were cancelled, and I was left to my own devices in my hotel room. The front desk gave me several menus, and I chose Petes Grill, mostly because it was free delivery, no minimum delivery, and had online ordering. I went with a gyro platter for $13 that included the gyro, a large salad, and fries. I subbed onion rings for no extra charge. Other options were waffle fries, sweet potato fries, or regular. I had skipped lunch and was super hungry, so I was disappointed the onion rings were inedible-super soggy and,just, yuck. I threw them away after one bite. The salad was actually quite nice and wasn't mentioned in the description of the platter so it was a nice surprise. Lots of mixed greens (not just ice berg), onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, and a boatload of feta. Balsamic was on the side. I appreciate the amount of feta, which I added to my gyro. The pita was a bit soggy-probably from being in the same container as the onion rings which should never, ever happen- and the meat was incredibly basic frozen-like gyro meat (should have gotten the chicken version). The driver was quicker than expected, which was appreciated. Maybe I ordered wrong and should've gone with a basic sandwich, but I didn't have a microwave so that's why I didn't order something hot or that would need reheated (or Indian like I really wanted). My friend and I both got potatoes but they looked totally different, hers was cooked and came with onions, mine was uncooked, no onions. the toast was not toasted. The coffee tasted bad. They got the good ol pizzeria cups, ya know- those big red ones with the plastic/crystal/crushed ice sensation. They used to have them at Pizza Huts throughout New England back in the 90's and mostly Greek pizzerias besides that- WAIT YES, thats the connection here. I live in Sunnyside and this is the neighborhood "go to" I usually order for delivery. Last week I decided to have breakfast there at 11am and several things went wrong: 1- The server got our order completely wrong (probably because he didn't write it down) but because we were starving we told him it was OK 2- The bus boy came around and didn't ask if we wanted more water he just began to pour water into cups and poured water into my boyfriends Snapple -_- 3- We saw a ROACH climbing up the wall. This place is the bomb! My favorite diner and I've only been here one time. The portions were huge and well priced for the area. I had the pancakes with eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage. They served me three huge fluffy pancakes with this meal. We also ordered an omelette, which looked like a 3-4 egg omelette and had an abundant amount of the toppings. Most exceptional breakfast I may have ever had. My boyfriend and I just had the Pete's grill which came with French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon and ham. We also got iced coffees and a side of corned beef hash. Our waiter refilled our iced coffees and waters as soon as we finished one which is a huge plus for me as I often have to wait long periods of time at restaurants for refills. The French toast was out of this world, fluffy and tasty and toasted to a yellow-gold perfection. The eggs and sides were delicious and the whole staff was courteous and on point. I was amazed to see this place has only 3.5 stars. I assume the negative ratings are from delivery since we have never tried that, but we have eaten here probably at least 25 times and enjoyed every one. Almost always come for brunch on Sat or Sunday. Always great service, nice people. Wait is usually none, sometimes a few minutes during prime brunch hour. I usually get full Irish breakfast or a turkey club. Irish breakfast is my favorite, the eggs are always perfect. Turkey club is a classic that they do well. I have a friend who tipped me onto their curly fries which are unbelievably good. I have come with friends who ordered other items, they always leave happy. They have a official brunch menu which comes with coffee and a mimosa but I usually dont do that. Finally it's got two walls with windows so it has nice atmosphere, combined with classic diner looks. The exception to the classic look is some nice wall art that look like Italy or something. Theres one TV in the back that is usually news, but they sometimes will put an important soccer game on when there is one happening, which is awesome because often I'll want to get brunch but not miss the match. read more
