I had just finished eating with my girl and just paid and tipped well my servers when my phone started to act up so I had to fix it before getting on the train. So I was messing with it trying to get it to work when the servers I had just paid began to snicker and make joke about me ignoring my woman and all of this was behind my back. 1 star for food, but 5 stars for customer service. They were all great and attentive to our needs. We ordered hamburgers. Theres basic or deluxe. So if you order the deluxe it comes with fries, lettuce, tomatoes and a pickle on the side. No mayo on the bun. The patty itself was so bland. No flavor, not even salt or pepper at least. Can't believe I didn't review the place before? Must have forgotten to write this. Hubby and I have been coming here since 2012-2013. Usually we come here for breakfast but we did try dinner once and it was ok. Recently I went back to meet my friend for breakfast and I had scrambled egg with some toast. One thing good about the place is that it offers parking spots but of course I walked here but good for my friend who drove that day. She thought it's good to meet here so she doesn't have to drive around looking for a parking spot. Always good seeing their hardworking staff here. They have a good manager and employees. When hubby and I come here, we like sitting by the booth section. Same when I went there our my friend recently we took a booth. They have a non booth section too. They make good decent breakfast too. I usually have my eggs with lettuce and tomatoes instead of potatoes. Awesome! read more

Came here for take-out on a rainy day. I actually never dined in before since we live so close but our take-out experiences have been consistently on point. This diner is definitely on the smaller side compared to massive diners I'm used to in jersey but it's location is very convenient and the food hasn't disappointed yet. So I ordered 'chicken Francese' with linguini. Having worked in a small ma & pa Italian restaurant in the past, my critique on this dish is pretty tough. This actually wasn't bad. The lemon butter sauce was very tasty. The pasta texture was made well. The one thing I would say is missing was the capers which would have been the cherry on top. The actual chicken was cooked well and the pasta was yum. Another fav that never disappoints is the Rueben corned beef. Do it! It's open-faced sour croutted out. Will definitely fill you. Not bad. Good service with decent food. . Got the wings app for $8.You get 6 large wings that are pretty good. They come very crispy like fried chicken so they aren't your traditional wings. Flavor tastes mostly like fried wing with only a hint of Buffalo sauce. Got the gyro sandwich for $6. Good size sandwich with pretty nice flavor. Does not come with sides though. Simply great service and great food. The waiter was friendly and quick, and the food was great! I ordered a chicken wrap with a chipotle sauce, avocado and roasted peppers, and they have a whole wheat option.. Overall great experience, definitely recommend for a quick, inexpensive brunch. If you want over priced mediocre food this is the place for you. We got a pastrami sandwich, a kids meal that had 3 small chicken fingers and some fries, and one simple grilled cheese with no French fries, and paid $45. The kids meal was $11 and the plain grilled cheese was $7. Again the pastrami sandwich was lack luster, and the other 2 items tasted exactly like they would have at Dennys or any other place with a cheap kids menu. ***Delivery review***** Ok,so sometimes things take an unexpected turn and you end up ordering delivery and watching Ted 2 on vacation. Believe me this was not by choice......but due to someone having a severe illness all day, dinner plans at Zum Stammish (next time!) were cancelled, and I was left to my own devices in my hotel room. The front desk gave me several menus, and I chose Petes Grill, mostly because it was free delivery, no minimum delivery, and had online ordering. I went with a gyro platter for $13 that included the gyro, a large salad, and fries. I subbed onion rings for no extra charge. Other options were waffle fries, sweet potato fries, or regular. I had skipped lunch and was super hungry, so I was disappointed the onion rings were inedible-super soggy and,just, yuck. I threw them away after one bite. The salad was actually quite nice and wasn't mentioned in the description of the platter so it was a nice surprise. Lots of mixed greens (not just ice berg), onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, and a boatload of feta. Balsamic was on the side. I appreciate the amount of feta, which I added to my gyro. The pita was a bit soggy-probably from being in the same container as the onion rings which should never, ever happen- and the meat was incredibly basic frozen-like gyro meat (should have gotten the chicken version). The driver was quicker than expected, which was appreciated. Maybe I ordered wrong and should've gone with a basic sandwich, but I didn't have a microwave so that's why I didn't order something hot or that would need reheated (or Indian like I really wanted). My father and I were staying at an Airbnb two blocks from the diner, and it seemed well reviewed so we stopped in for brunch last Sunday. It was so good we went back two more times during the week we were in town. The omelets are very good, and there's a wide variety. Breakfast is available all day. The pancakes were too big for me to finish along with the scrambled eggs. I also had a burger that was good. Service was always excellent, even though the place was really busy two of the three times we went. Seems like it does a lot of business on the weekends, and it can be hard to get a table. Dinner hour during the week was fine. I can't speak to any times besides those. I would give five stars but for a couple small issues - my dad ordered what was supposed to be something akin to a western omelet, and it had some kind of strange filling in it that he couldn't identify and didn't like. And the burger was just so-so, nothing terrific, I can't even remember what I had on it. But in all, I would recommend this place to anyone who's staying in the neighborhood and wants reasonably priced, tasty food. read more

My friend and I both got potatoes but they looked totally different, hers was cooked and came with onions, mine was uncooked, no onions. the toast was not toasted. The coffee tasted bad. The food is ALWAYS solid, whether I'm getting breakfast or lunch or dinner or just some snacks. The staff is on another level of friendly, we always feel like we just walked into the house of a family member. I pretty much live for their omelettes and had the special Baileys Hot Chocolate last week, and everyone NEEDS to run and get it while they still have it. Last week I decided to have breakfast there at 11am and several things went wrong: 1- The server got our order completely wrong (probably because he didn't write it down) but because we were starving we told him it was OK 2- The bus boy came around and didn't ask if we wanted more water he just began to pour water into cups and poured water into my boyfriends Snapple -_- 3- We saw a ROACH climbing up the wall. I sampled my wife's farmhouse omelette and it was yummy, as were the potatoes that came with. My Pete's Special had 3-meats, 2-eggs, and 2-MONSTER slices of the fluffiest, delicious french toast I have ever had! I felt so guilty leaving one behind. Every other plate I saw go by looked amazing, too, esp. a strawberry & whipped cream waffle. Coffee & ice water always topped up, and entire Spanish-speaking staff were very efficient & friendly. This place is the bomb! My favorite diner and I've only been here one time. The portions were huge and well priced for the area. I had the pancakes with eggs, ham, bacon, and sausage. They served me three huge fluffy pancakes with this meal. We also ordered an omelette, which looked like a 3-4 egg omelette and had an abundant amount of the toppings. Most exceptional breakfast I may have ever had. My boyfriend and I just had the Pete's grill which came with French toast, eggs, sausage, bacon and ham. We also got iced coffees and a side of corned beef hash. Our waiter refilled our iced coffees and waters as soon as we finished one which is a huge plus for me as I often have to wait long periods of time at restaurants for refills. The French toast was out of this world, fluffy and tasty and toasted to a yellow-gold perfection. The eggs and sides were delicious and the whole staff was courteous and on point.
