This was a pleasant experience for breakfast on a Saturday morning. This bistro had a nice charm, friendly staff, and quick service. Some pros include the ambiance, good strong coffee, and easy to find location. The cons include having to pay for refills on coffee, the food is good... Nothing spectacular. The homemade biscuits tasted a little like metal but the grid's and bacon were done well. The menu doesn't have pancakes, waffles, crepes, or omelettes, which I think would help provide greater variety. Currently the menu just had bacon/ham, eggs, grits, biscuits/toast and they just provide variations of these staples. Overall the restaurant is nice with decent food, hence the 4star rating. Delicious!!! I tried this spot today after a friend's suggestion and it was wonderful. Location: Quaint. Small tables good for a pair or up to 4. Not really set up for large parties. However, I'm sure they would work with you. Ambiance cool and comfortable. Food: I had the Cabbagetown bowl with scrambled egg and chicken sausage. Everything was tasty and fresh. I also ordered the biscuit with butter and the jam of the day (cherry and vanilla) omg it was so good that I asked for a container to take some home Drink: Turmeric and Strawberry limeade Service: Thumbs up. I know Petit Chou has to be legit because I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday brunch here and it was NOT even a boozy brunch (but I did hear that the liquor and dinner options will be coming soon...yippee!). The food and drinks were phenomenal. I'm only taking one star away because the parking was a bit of a pain. I did park in the gravel lot across the street, though. And my friend parked on the side street. We both loved our meals, along with the craft sodas and extensive list of delicious coffee. The avocado toast was amazing and so was the coffee. I will definitely be back for both. Petit Chou is a smaller establishment but they have bar seating as well as several outdoor tables. We were able to walk in and be seated right away but we did go during their 2nd week. Now that the word is out, it may be more packed. They are open for breakfast and lunch. The menu is small and there weren't too many veggie options. I would love to see them expand the menu a bit, but in the meantime, the avocado toast is enough to keep me coming back. The service was good, although a little slow but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us. The atmosphere is chill and relaxed - definitely a good place to go with families or groups. Came here because was looking for brunch place close to the glenwood area. This place comes highly recommended on yelp and didn't disappoint. It's a super cute decoration and atmosphere. Everyone there was super nice. We had to wait 15 min because we wanted a table with our son but there were bar seats available. If you come after 9:30 I would expect to wait. I had the skim latte- it was one of the best coffees I had in Atlanta!! Amazing! All I could say was wow after my first sip. I ordered the yogurt and fruit for my son. It was really smooth and tasty and was about 7.50 which is reasonable for having 3 different fruits -blueberry strawberry and blackberry and nuts. It would be nice for anyone who wants a light breakfast. I had the biscuit sandwich. It was just ok. Problem I found was the poached egg was gone after 2 bites so I was left eating veggie sausage and biscuit for half of the sandwich. Maybe if it was fried it would be better? Also it was weird that it was served in a bowl made it awkward for picking up. The customer service and latte is 5 stars!! Although the food is all farm to table (not the sausage that's bought) the food just wasn't 5 so overall giving it a solid 4 stars. I would recommend for sure!!! read more

When we arrived, we were immediately greeted and told to choose any table and go ahead and seat ourselves - the restaurant decor and atmosphere were very welcoming! This is a quaint little eatery that serves breakfast, lunch, and coffee drinks. There's​ not much parking and the place is rather small so it's not good for large groups. I came in during lunch to get a burger for burger week 2017. Since it's my first time here, I did peruse the menu. Prices look decent. Nothing stood out to me on the lunch menu but the breakfast menu looks good so I'll definitely be back for a weekend brunch. They had two choices for burger week, a beef slider or a Portobello slider. I should've gotten both but went with the beef slider and a bowl of French onion soup. The burger was ok, you can tell it's not this cafe's main thing. I can't remember what was on it but here's a pic. The soup I had was good to start, with yummy gruyere on top. Once I got past the top layer of cheese and bread there was an over abundance of onions, yes, even for French onion soup, I felt like the actual soup was missing. Service was friendly and efficient. Today, both dishes we ordered were cold and pathetic looking, for instance no arugula on my avo toast... that's one main ingredient listed and the bread was so hard I couldn't even cut it with the knife. Oh and no avocado on my avocado toast... ooookaaaay WTF. Completely missed the mark on every level. We were in a rush so we didn't complain or send food back but it was bad enough that if I wasn't in a rush, I would have gotten up and walked out. The bathroom was also disgusting, unclean, smelled, looked like a homeless person was living in there. The place tends to get super packed for brunch and there isn't really a waiting area inside. so come here a little bit after busy time and you'll be fine. For brunch I usually like to get the boursin avocado toast or the biscuits and gravy. For lunch, my go to is the bistro roast beef sandwich. All of the ingredients are fresh and good portion sizes. Went back to Petit Chou for breakfast and coffee on a Sunday morning. Coffee and food were still great, but service was very slow. To be fair, it was crowded and they were clearly understaffed, but it was noticeable and most people in the place were noticeably irritated by the slowness. We didn't get charged for our black coffee which was nice. I'll definitely return but I hope they hire more staff so it can go back to a 5 star place! read more

Tried out our new local restaurant brunch spot after hearing lots of good things. We waited an expected 30 minutes to be seated on Mother's Day weekend and it was worth it. It's unfortunate that the outside seating, while nice, is right on busy and ugly memorial drive but maybe building out back wasn't possible. The menu is limited and surprisingly familiar given that this is fusion southern-French food. However, there are a couple of unusual dishes as others have noted such as the chicken liver mousse. I tried the American Breakfast and my wife had the avocado toast. Both of our meals were good but a little bit "underwhelming." The iced latte was good but the strawberry mint lemonade wasn't that great for $4.75. A highlight was definitely the vanilla cheesecake and my impression was the other desserts were very delicious as well. I'd be curious to go back and try more of the food here and see if all the hype is really worth it for this spot or if it's more of a 3.5 stars. For now I'm giving it a 4 because they are definitely trying to do some good things, the food is decent, service seemed fine, sourcing practices are admirable, and they have a lot of potential in the neighborhood. read more

But today we stepped out on CSC and tried that new little cabbage in Cabbagetown: Petit Chou. In a word: lovely. I had the Boursin (house made) and avocado toast. At first I was disappointed to see only one slice. But with the mashed avocado layered over Boursin and topped with arugula and a perfectly poached egg - it was satisfying and very pleasing. The service was as light and airy as the space itself. A huge covered patio and parking (clutches pearls) makes this a true gem. Updated after going here for lunch twice. Venue: I'm in love! This cozy little Cabbagetown restaurant has a cafe or brasserie feel to it. You do sit in close proximity to your fellow diners, a la mode française, but I just thought it was all part and parcel to the French experience. Our server was phenomenal. It was super busy and she seemed to be the only server, but she remained upbeat and patiently willing to explain the menu and how things were prepared. She was just all around fantastic. Vittles: All three of us started with coffee, which was just amazing. Strong and fresh without bitterness. My fellow eaters went on and on about the almond milk that was served with their coffee. They serve breakfast all day, with lunch starting at noon. We all went with the brunch option, and we all tried the breakfast bowl with potatoes rather than grits. We loved them! My meal mates had the bacon option, but I went with the veggie sausage, which was more oat based and pretty damn good. Afterwards, we ordered croissants to go, which come from Alon's Bakery. I did the almond and chocolate, which I took home and ate the next morning. They held up well and, after being warmed, were delicious. Verdict: Even though it's a little out of the way for me since I live elsewhere in Atlanta, I would definitely make the trek to eat here again. My absolute favorite brunch spot in Atlanta. It may not have te aesthetic of Muchacho or the hype of Ria's Bluebird, but it's got the highest quality ingredients cooked simply and consistently well. None of the hipster hype of other brunch spots around. Lots of flavor flavor flavor. They can make a simple avocado toast taste like magic. Their breakfast bowl with cheesy grits and poached egg is simple in concept but complex in flavors. There has lately been a bit of a wait to get a table but it goes fairly quickly. My least favorite thing about Petit Chou is the decor and the layout of the space. It feels a bit cluttered, there is a massive bar in the middle of the room and the feng shui is totally off. Small tables surround this massive bar and around the bathrooms. It's not their best element. But the food is so good, and the service is also good, that nothing else really matters. This is my favorite brunch spot in Atlanta. I only wish they had pancakes!!!! read more
