I had a great experience and wanted to share how wonderful Beckie G was. She was very sweet and welcoming to both me and my English Bulldog. Even though I didn't see the bath itself, it was very clear how caring and thorough she was. She took her time and did a detailed job especially with his wrinkles and paws, which really stood out. Afterward, she explained everything she had done and shared helpful feedback about what she noticed. You can tell she genuinely cares and takes pride in her work and that made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog in her care. I highly recommend Beckie G for her kindness, patience, and attention to detail. I also want to acknowledge Dr. Yu at Banfield Pet Clinic. Dr. Yu always takes excellent care of my English Bulldog looks out for the best treatment options and consistently offers cost-saving options that benefit both us and our dog. I took my cat here for a bath and nail trim and was shocked at how poorly he was handled. The groomer grabbed him very roughly, making him cry, and when I asked politely for him not to handle my cat that way, he got offended and refused service. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, the manager told me "there's nothing I can do, he doesn't feel comfortable doing the work because of your reaction." Calling my pet "just an animal" and dismissing my concerns is completely unprofessional. Pets are family, and they should be treated with care, not manhandled. I left feeling disrespected and my cat stressed out. I would never trust them with my pet again and do not recommend this location to anyone who loves their animals. read more

This place is extremely unprofessional and dangerous. Beware. I took my dog to the grooming service at 8:15 a.m. for a bath. I picked her up around 11:30 a.m., and the lady at the counter asked if my dog had any allergies. I noticed her eyes looked a bit off, and I mentioned that she suffers from allergies. At home, her eyes became increasingly swollen, so I called the veterinarian next door, Banfield, in the same store. They informed me there was no vet available until 2:30 p.m. I took my dog in at that time, and the doctor discovered it was likely a problem with the grooming, possibly an allergic reaction. I filed a complaint with the store manager, who tried to shift the blame onto me, despite not knowing much about the situation. I asked for a receipt as proof of my dog's visit, which they failed to provide in the morning. It took the manager about 15 minutes to find it. My dog is now blind and on medication. I'm unsure if she will recover. The veterinarian mentioned it might be treatable. For the safety of your dog, please do not take your dog to this place. read more

We rescued our pup as an adult and it's clear she didn't have any early exposure to grooming, because she really struggles at the salon (especially with nail trims.) The salon manager, Beckie, is so patient and wonderful with both us and our pup. We are so thankful that people like Beckie work in the grooming industry. She's a true professional and animal lover. I scheduled a grooming appointment for my puppy and Skylar and the other staff called me an hour later to tell me they cannot cut his hair because he "puppy bites". I love coming to this location specifically because 1. The store is clean and organized and 2. The service is great; the cashiers are very polite and greet me with a smile. Petsmart has also incorporated a rewards program in addition to the pet perks and so it's nice to be rewarded with coupons for my purchases. I also love walking by the adoption area! I was in the neighborhood and decided to swing by this PetSmart to pick up some dog food. It's exactly what you'd expect: clean, organized, and well-stocked with incredibly friendly staff willing to help you find anything if you need it. For 11am on a Thursday, it wasn't busy at all. Parking was a plenty and there was even a cashier training someone. Not being in a rush, I didn't mind that she was taking her time to make sure she was ringing me up properly. I actually appreciated that -- working retail isn't easy! This is an awful place for new people to schedule a pet's grooming. They have a scheduling system offering multi days and times with different groomers but they don't abide by it obviously because they try to fit in regular clientele at their convenience. We scheduled since Sunday for Tuesday evening but come Tuesday they tried all afternoon to move it. They wanted us to inconveniently come in earlier because they were going to be busy later that day. Remember we scheduled in a system that claimed they had availability with multiple dates and times. We notified them we could take him in an hour earlier and when we got there they raised an issue about his rabies vaccine record. Although all the information was provided and physically shown to them they were trying to make excuses to cancel the appointment. They finally and reluctantly agreed that all the information they needed was presented but then implied that VETCO's way of printing out their records is unusual and not familiar to them. If you're a pet owner how long has VETCO been around, yeah exactly. All this with a full lobby of other pets and waiting customers that they obviously over scheduled or tried to squeeze in. Well than after all the commotion Frankie rudely and insincerely takes our pet to do his hair and claims our pet is overly anxious and cannot work with him comfortably. Obviously they are discriminate and selective, so if you don't fit in don't bother! Brian did an incredible job. I have a miniature schnauzer and he had some bad mats. A lot of other people would have just shaved him but Brian took the extra time to blend the schnauzer cut into where he had to cut the mats out. I have been taking my 8 pound Maltipoo to this Petsmart's Groomers for the last year and a half. I've never had a poor experience until now. From the moment I walked in the groomer Frankie was aggressive and rude. He was on the phone when I arrived without another person or dog in sight. I was looking at products while waiting until he completed his phone call, in the middle of his conversation on the phone he said Who's this? I didn't even realize he was talking to me. After telling him who I had with me (my dog's name) his response was YOU'RE LATE, but I will still take her, next time you will need to reschedule, and returned to his phone call, which was not even on hold while he chastised me for being late. My pet decided to poop, so that is the reason we were late walking in, I didn't even realize we were late to be honest. I've waited much longer in prior appointments when there has been a line or other people in the grooming intake area. (Only one person/dog at a time due to COVID, which is understandable). Never once have I told a groomer, my appointment was 15 minutes ago... you're late taking her in. Frankie finished his phone call and proceeded to very pointedly ask me the registration questions, which I had already completed online. I answered his questions and then he wanted me to initial and sign his paperwork. I said I had already completed this online, to which he replied he normally asks again because people will walk in and tell him their pet has a heart or other condition so he double checks. Out of curiosity I asked if the system shows I completed the questions online to which he repeated his reply while staring me down from behind his mask. After his tone and hostility towards me FROM THE MOMENT I walked in the door and no greeting to my pet to make her feel welcomed or reassured AT ALL, I did NOT have a good feeling about this. In fact, I was so uneasy ... to the point where I plainly asked Frankie if he was going to be okay with her, because if he's going to be frustrated and take it out on her I'd rather not leave her. I know she tends to draw her paws away when being groomed and clearly Frankie was either not in a good mood or was already frustrated with something. His reply was he would be fine but I could reschedule if i wanted. I told him I was not getting good vibes from him at all, and would much rather not leave my pet with him. I have never walked out on an appointment before but I do not feel bad walking out today and not leaving my pet in an environment or situation where she could have been hurt, even inadvertently, by someone who clearly was in a bad mood. In addition, I am also a customer and expect to be treated in a better manner than how Frankie received both of us this morning. It was a very poor experience that could have gone so much better. I have once previously been to this PetSmart to groom my cocker spaniel and they did a great job, today however I cannot say the same. I was greeted by a nice girl upon drop off, who I believe was named Brittany. When I returned for pickup there was another young lady working with glasses and blonde hair whose name I did not get but she was not very friendly or excited to bring my dog back to me. Other then printing my receipt she barely said 5 words to me which I really wouldn't have minded if I was happy with the grooming! There was WAY too much hair taken off his legs and the lower body and legs were all choppy and still had random spots of longer hair that was somehow missed?? Upon arriving back home I looked at his ears and they clearly hadn't been cleaned either. Not sure what my groomer was doing for 4 hours. Now I'm starting to wonder if they even brushed his teeth like they were supposed to. Maybe I would know if I got the report they are supposed to give customers about the session upon pickup, but I didn't receive that either. Disappointed today. I haven't lost all hope, I know they can do a good job SOMETIMES. I will give this place one more shot and hopefully will able to lookup who did the grooming today and steer clear of them for next time! read more

While the staff was helpful and friendly, I was extremely concerned about the health of their animals after visiting the fish section. Nearly every tank had dead or dying fish in it. The live fish were feeding off of the dead ones and many of the tanks had layers of algae growing along the glass. Not only do I not want to bring any of these animals home to my healthy fish, I hope that someone can inspect them or intervene to help protect the health of the others that are still in the store. read more

Took my husky in for the furmenator wash, this was our 3rd visit so I expected the same great results. Unfortunately it was not the case. My husky was a rescue and doesn't like being caged for too long so I confirm they will have him in and out as quickly as possible. 3hours after dropping him off they had just finished bathing him and his anxiety was high, they called and told me I needed to pick him up. I got there within 10 minutes and he was scared and soaking wet. No explanation just that I didn't have to pay. Poor dog won't be going back, we will find another groomer. read more

I had not been happy with the last grooming I experienced at a previous PetsMart location , so I decided to try this one and I'm so happy I did! Booking was so easy and everyone was so nice , I was allowed to bring my dog in the same day. I knew I wanted something different for my dog for the summer but I had a hard time saying exactly what I wanted yet it was like Virginia read my mind ! She did so good on my dogs hair cut and the cute watermelon bow was the sugar on top. My dog left smelling and looking great, from her breath, ears and fur. So happy with my experience will be coming again. When I came in, (around 3pm) all the dogs getting groomed looked great & everyone seemed as though they paid a great deal of attention to details ( which I love) but Virginia is my dogs new fave ! I took my Pomeranian for his grooming appointment this afternoon. He has a thick coat & suffers in the heat. I tried to get an appointment 2 weeks ago but none were available. It turns out they had a complete staff turnover without notifying customers. I booked with someone new. The check in person told me she saw that I said not to use a hair dryer on him but they have to as part of the process. I told her he can't get hot because he will have a seizure. She told me that means he needs an "Express" cut that takes longer than a regular cut. What? And the girl who does them won't be able to take him until Monday. What? I told herI took the day off and he just needs to be shaved. I've been bringing him here for ten years without incident-please just take him. She said, that's because we didn't know. It is not. The same woman groomed him for ten years. We never had a problem. I never walked out of an establishment before. I walked out. PetSmart has been going downhill for years and that is the last time I walk into that store. read more

This review is for the grooming salon inside PetsMart. I don't think I've ever been asked to spell my last name SO MANY times. It was like I was speaking a foreign language. I was asked by the lady who took my reservation and the lady who checked in my dog. Not sure if it was the same person, but the service was ridiculous. The check in process was SO SLOW! I was the only person in there dropping off my dog and it took about 15 minutes just to hand my dog over to the groomers. The groomer had no idea how to handle my dog, which was shocking. My dog isn't one to misbehave but she doesn't like loud piercing noises, and almost every dog was barking inside the salon. I will not be going back there. read more

Review of GROOMING - 3 stars as it was last minute - left the trail and creek at noon and was able to get a 2 pm appointment for my dog on a Sunday, when most groomers are closed. Bath and brush. The Plano location @ Park was about to oblige, until I said she was a pit and then no appointment til Monday. Sometimes - you get some bullshit. The facilities and grooming itself were 2 stars. I've groomed at PetSmart in nowhere else to go situations - in the past so I knew not to expect much. I just wanted her clean and had a gift certificate. This facility was the messiest I've seen ... and my dog started whining - I wanted to pick her up and run but I had crap to do and she loves being clean. So I let her go and picked her up 2 hours later. She was bathed is all I can say. Not clean-clean but she'd do. You can tell from the legs, paws and belly it was eh. $30 freak'n bucks for a bath and brush. Thank heavens for the gift certificate or I would've been pissed. I had her looking like a super star for this morning's hike - groomed, spa bath, nails grinded, with 6 hours of daycare included on Friday for $40 at Classy Canine Daycare (off Preston and GBTW). Really should be 2 stars. 3 stars for the last minute accomodation. read more

This was first time grooming and experience was absolutely awful. The moment we walked in the door, the groomer Ashley was rude and hateful. Customer service is not her forte. When I asked questions, and explained what we wanted her answers were clipped and rude. We had to make appt. two weeks in advance for a cut and shampoo. Their time slots were @ 30 min. Only to find out that it would be 3-4 hours before we could get her back. That's because they don't bathe them right after they cut them, only when they get around to it. Perhaps there should be someone to bathe the dogs while they cut, it would cut down on wait times. Rather than trying to work with us or explain anything it was just consistently rude. Plus, when I finally asked for just the cut and would take her home and bathe her myself, they were still going to charge me for the services I did not get and which they could not provide in a timely manner. There was another guy there who was just as rude. Overall experience is negative, my suggestion is to go elsewhere where someone actually cares whether the experience is good or bad and wants your repeat business. Unfortunately, that isn't here. We'll go to a professional next time. Chain stores have folks who don't care because it's the store's reputation, not theirs on the line. read more

Grooming review only: I was very disappointed in the grooming services. While the attendants/groomers were very nice, they were not able to groom my 2 cocker spaniels in the agreed upon time. My dogs spent 5+ hours there on a Saturday afternoon. We'd scheduled the appointments side by side and were told it could be done in a couple of hours. 3 and a half hours later when we called, they said it'd be "another 20 minutes". An hour after that and it was still another 20 minutes. I received a lot of excuses such as "Saturdays are busy" and "I could ask for the express service"... etc... but what it boils down to is general incompetency and poor time management. My dogs were stuck in a kennel and were upset and barking when we arrived to pick them up. They comp'd the bill for us, which is the LEAST they could do. The grooming services were just "okay". One of my cocker spaniels did not get his ears groomed or his nails clipped despite that we were told they were done. My other cocker was not clipped well at all. It looked rushed. Her ears were uneven and her crown was not trimmed well at all. I would hope there are better dog groomers in this area and if not, I'll stick to doing it myself. read more

From the first time we walked in to this store on September 26th 2015 to get items for our new puppy, to our ongoing visits, the staff is consistently service focused and happy to help. We also use the Banfield in the store, as well as the groomer and the private Dog training services. Ratings are: Banfield: 4 stars. They are timely, helpful, loving to our pup, and have not tried to oversell me. Grooming: 3 stars. Super nice but I am not sure they are experienced enough to take on a Goldendoodle hair. Dog training: 5 stars. Shelby is smart, friendly, loves animals, and is great at relating with all age of owners. Petsmart Staff: 4.5 You guys rock. Overall- we love this store and it is because of the staff. Way to hire, Petsmart! Now it's time to give the manager a raise for retaining such caring folks. read more
