The staff at the Pet Hotel are very friendly at check in and check out, and are very enthusiastic about the pets they take care of, so I felt confident that my dogs were in good hands for a few days. That being said, PetSmart needs to change is their bathroom break policy. The standard is two 15 minute potty and exercise breaks per day. If you want any additional breaks you have to pay for them. Really, two breaks per day is not enough. My dog lost her voice either here or at the location she stayed at right before. She knows to cry or howl at home when she wants to go outside. I can only imagine she was probably crying to go out and no one let her out because it wasn't her scheduled time. Obviously she could go in her kennel but she is house trained and rarely has accidents, so she would probably avoid going in a small enclosed space. :( This is really just a fault of whoever is setting the PetSmart policy at the corporate level, because it seems that all the stores are the same. I would think every 7-8 hours should be the maximum in between breaks, and every 5-6 would be ideal. Taking care of a dog's most basic needs shouldn't cost extra! read more

I am extremely partial to pet stores that make an effort to pair with an adoption agency or that have their own on site adoptions and this PetSmart made it possible for me to adopt the best dog possible. Day Care I have taken my Cockapoo to their Doggie DayCare 3 times now and each time he comes home happy and exhausted. The handlers all seem to enjoy the dogs and give them good attention. It is good for him to be able to socialize with other dogs and get some extra exercise. Groomers I usually just have the quick exit bath after Day Care, but this time I got the extra things done and I am very happy with the way he looked. He was so fluffy and soft, they trimmed his feet and nails and cleaned all the bits and pieces. He seemed happy with the results too. Recommend the services at this PetSmart. read more

We had our French bulldog groomed and he was looking mighty dapper afterward! You could tell they spent time getting his nails filed down to perfection and he seemed very happy when I picked him up! He had a good experience and we were very happy with it! It was also cheaper than I had expected! Less than $30 for a bath and filed nails which tend to be more expensive! I've been here many times since I got my puppy in Nov. They seem to have good deals on their dog food as well as they often have clearance toys. I wouldn't buy toys from here full price. They are way cheaper online. The employees have always been friendly and fairly helpful. We have seen the vet twice, I'm not sure if I like her. My husband and I wanted to have our dogs stay at doggie day camp so they would not have to be boarded in a kennel, but because of the lack of training from the call center when my reservation was booked we were not informed that the bordetella shot was required. I appreciate Petsmart because they host an adoption event every weekend and that's where I found my dog 6 years ago. We continue to shop there for most of our pets needs. The staff is always smiling and helpful. I also like that most of the time they have decent sales. I've never had my dog groomed, trained, boarded, or seen by the vet at that store. I come here because it's close to my home. It's hit or miss. Tonight was a miss. I came into the store about 5 minutes to closing. Got the things I needed and was waiting in line. As the last item of the customer before me was scanned, a very rude young cashier came up and insisted that I pick up my 12 items and full bag of dog food and walk it over to the pet hotel. Why? It took longer for me to pick up my stuff and walk it over there than it would have to just ring it up. Also, why am I carrying this stuff to a new area, when I told you I was fine? I would have been okay with this, until she gets behind the counter and says "oh shit, I forgot bags". I think she assumed she said it under her breath? She then looks at me and says " if you want a bag for this, you're going to have to go over there and get one from her". Oh, you mean the place you just insisted I had to leave? Are your legs broken? I can only chalk this up to a clear lack of common sense. I was in a hurry, and the store was closing, so I opted not to talk to anyone about it. Here's a tip Petsmart. I went today to return a cat bed and also to exchange two doggie shirts for a larger size. None of the employees greeted me or acknowledged me in any way as I entered the store which created an unnecessary issue as you shall see. The shirt rack was right by the register so I grabbed the larger size that I needed and headed to the register to make the exchange. Despite having the receipt as proof that I had indeed purchased the items I was bringing back, the young man at the register called a manager to assist him with the exchange, because he said that he did not see me enter the store with the items. I spend a good deal of money at Petsmart on food, clothing and a variety of other items for my pets. It is bad enough when employees do not welcome you but completely unacceptable and insulting to be erroneously treated like a common criminal. I will not be back to this location. read more

The couple time I have come into this store have been for fish gear. I bought a small aquarium, gravel, a net, some tank decorations, gold fish food, water treatment and a few comet goldfish. Supply on hand is limited but the prices have been fair and even cheaper than Walmart in some cases. But the friendliness of the staff has been hit and miss. While wondering the isles I was passed by a few employees without so much as a howdoyoudo. I was standing at the fish section looking at what would become my future pets and nobody offered assistnace even though there were two people staff members standing there. I looked over at one and told him I need to get a couple of fish. He hardly said a word and just scooped two without letting me choose. I'm almost surprised he did not give me the first fish that he scooped that was swimming upside down. He threw it back in the tank though it was circling the bowl and gave me a better one. Dear Petsmart, I don't usually write reviews, unless they are good ones, but this needs to be heard before another incident like this happens. Yesterday, you killed our family dog. We took her in for a routine teeth cleaning, and your incompetent staff managed to overdose her on anesthesia. After informing my aunt her dog passed away under your care, she was forced to wait over 2 hours for your staff to be "absolutely sure" her dog was actually dead. I know that in some cases, yes, there are complications in procedures, but seriously? FOR A SIMPLE TEETH CLEANING? IT'S LIKE GOING TO THE DENTIST FOR A CLEANING AND THEN DYING IN THE CHAIR. Long story short, I am beyond furious that she died under Petsmart's care. Your failing company's substandard and inept customer service only amplified the pain of our loss even more. Having worked in customer service most of my life, I am uniquely qualified to judge just how shoddy and totally lacking Petsmart's customer service is. First off, no one even wanted to take responsibility for our dog's death; the staff just kept saying it was no one's fault. If Petsmart really cared about its quality standards, someone should have been held accountable. The fact that it took us 2 whole hours to leave your store after being told our dog was dead is an absolute joke. The way your staff spoke to us made it seem they could care less that we had just lost a member of our family. They only offered to remove our pet's insurance and cremate our dog. WELL NO KIDDING, WE DON'T HAVE A DOG ANYMORE, WHY SHOULD WE CONTINUE TO PAY FOR INSURANCE FOR A DEAD DOG, AND PAY FOR THE CREMATION OF SOMETHING THAT YOU KILLED. Because of Petsmart, our dog, who was alive and healthy at only 8 years old, came out dead. You have lost so many customers. The store is nice, clean and friendly but the cashiers can be total idiots. Today I went and bought 2 bags of food and 1 dog shirt. I had 2 manufacturers coupons, 1 for each bag of food. The cashier scanned them after purchase and the screen froze. He said only one coupon per transaction. I said ok, ring it separately then. He rang 1 bag and the shirt and started scanning the person behind me! There were 5 people behind me. The petsmart on rainbow and 215 never have issues with multiple coupons on different items. read more

Wow... Where to begin. If I could give 0 stars I would. So this review is about the store, the management, and mainly the trainers. We enrolled our puppy in the training class.. It clearing states on the packet "you may re-take the class at no cost if you're not satisfied" The beginner class was okay nothing to fancy. We decided to enroll him in the intermediate class "to really notice a difference in his behavior" ... Or so the trainer said. Which was not the case at all in the least bit!!! After the intermediate class ended (6 one hour sessions) I told my trainer I'm not happy with his progress I don't feel as if he retained the information could we please re-take the class again. The trainer says yes you can re-take the class at no cost. So we waited 4 weeks until the next class started. A week before the schedule class I reached out to the Petsmart trainer she wasn't in so I left a message calling to confirm that the class was in fact scheduled and taking place. NO response. I called again 3 days before the scheduled class and the night before the make up class and NEVER received a call back. To this day the class started two weeks ago and I have not heard back from anyone. I've now missed 6 weeks of training for my puppy which I fell is a key time for him to be learning and now I truly feel that all of my time and money has been wasted over these two class and the 6 week gap!!!! I called and spoke to two "managers" Damon and Rob who didn't have a clue as to what was going on nor did either of them attempt to rectify the situation. Damon said ok you'll heard back. HE NEVER CALLED. Rob didn't have anything to say he just passed me off to another trainer named Diane and NOT ONCE FROM THE MANAGERS DID I RECEIVE AN APOLOGY!!!!! NOT ONCE. Diane informed me that they do not currently have an intermediate puppy class going on and I could train with her in private. I thought ok well maybe. She then tells me due to the fact that it's a private session I will only be receive 1/3 of the training I paid for?!! So I paid for 6 one hour sessions ... And I'm only able to get 4 -30 minute sessions because they don't have an intermediate class taking place right now??? Why is that my problem I've already paid for a service that wasn't provided and have already been put out for 6 weeks. I called a different petsmart location near me and spoke to the manager she stated that yes I could re-take the class at their location. I called back to the location on Lake Mead and Rainbow and spoke with the trainer again and she says "well since it's past the 60 days since you purchased the training you will have to talk yo Eric the store manager?!!! Really how many people and I going to have to get tossed around to?? Where is the customer service? I paid for a service. I should be accommodated. I really am appalled by the management team and trainers at this location ... I then asked Diane okay well who can I talk to see about getting at least 6 - 30 minute sessions? The trainer then tells me no they won't do that I'm on commission and this is a good deal? Good deal for who?? Regardless of the price of the "private sessions" I should still receive my training sessions I paid for. 6! It's not my fault they don't have an intermediate class going on and that I was ignored! This is such a huge disappointment. I will be reaching out to corporate. This type if behavior should not be tolerated. I'm surprised these people are considered managers and trainers!! Words can hardly express this HORRENDOUS experience. Unbelievable..... No one should have to go through this for a service that they already paid for..... We will bring our dog back for sure. He really enjoyed his time there. First-time customers get 50% off. That is a plus. The grooming department is an absolute joke. The women are super unfriendly and unwelcoming. We leave our animals in your care .. SMILE. I've brought my 1 year old mini shiba, 15 lb dog to PetSmart once a month for a pawdicure( nail file, ear and teeth cleaning) since she was a puppy. This was my third time at this location solely because it's closest to me. The people have never been friendly to me or welcoming to my dog. Today I brought her in for a monthly Pawdicure and as usual my baby was scared. Unfriendly strangers with noise making machines- no sh!t she's scared. About two minutes in the girl doing her nails ( pretty sure her names Alexandria she's tall skinny dark hair) well Alexandria looks at me and immediately stops what's she doing in a fluster and says "I can't finish her nails I don't want to stress her anymore, she's stressed but I did clip some" 1. No Sh!t she's stressed almost every dog is at the groomers- maybe you should try calming her so she knows you're not going to hurt her. 2. This is literally your job maybe you should be better at it. 3. I never asked you to clip her nails you tw@t I asked for a grinding specifically because I don't trust the poorly trained idiots PetSmart hires with anything sharp around my baby. I was LIVID. I said " Well I take her here every month there's never been a problem" One of the unfriendly females grooming a dog in the back suggested I take her to the vet- she said it in the flattest most unfriendly tone and didn't even look at me. I went upfront to get my refund and the older man standing near the cashier apologized for them not being able to perform the service that they literally specialize in. He made a comment about her breed " oh yeah shiba Inu I'm not surprised" I bring her in every month she's the sweetest dog you just have no business being a dog groomer. It's no wonder animals die all the time in the care of PetSmart "grooming" employees. I would never leave her unattended with anyone of them. They don't even act like they care. The people washing my car have better damn people skills. Don't risk your poor baby's life here go to Bow Wow Meow Pet Grooming 10 min away. The only good thing about this entire experience is I found the most amazing pet groomer in the city. They treat your baby like a child they are very kind, gentle and attentive. They don't kenel your fur baby's when they get groomed they let them play with the other pups to ensure they're not stressed and they have a nice time. We all love the day camp and boarding at this Pet Hotel. You will not find a nicer staff and they truly care about your fur babies. Our dogs go to the camp a few days a week for playtime and socialization. When we leave our animals here we do not worry about them. We know they are safe and loved! Scott is the manager and he really knows how to hire a caring and dedicated staff. Our dogs have been going here for three years. Not a single complaint. There is a staff member in this Hotel 24 hours a day which is not common in many boarding places so if a pet gets sick in the night there is someone there to provide care and seek medical attention if needed. We do not live close to this Pet Hotel but we gladly drive the distance. Frankie, Holly, and Evie (when she was alive) get excited when we drive in the parking lot. They are always happy when we drop them off and when we pick them up. Give them a try, your fur baby will appreciate it! read more

Do not leave you cat here for the pet hotel. I had to board my cat for 2 weeks. When I first called and asked how the boarding worked an associate told me she would have her own cat "condo" and would have time socializing with other cats. Then when I called again to confirm everything an other associate told me she would have an hour of play time a day and there would be no socializing with other cats. This was a day before I would leaving the country and didn't have time to come up with a back up plan. When I finally dropped her off I set up her "condo" which was really just a cage I left her with a blanket and some of her toys. I will say the first couple days they did call me to give me updates. Letting me know she was scared and eating and bathroom habits, which is did appreciate. However the hour of play time was really just letting her scratch a post for 15 minutes twice a day. When I finally came to pick her up she looked dirty and had gunk all over her tale. I was just so excited to see her I put her in the carrier and was going to be on my way. Then I realized the blanket and toys I left behind were gone. I asked where it had gone and they said they washed it. I left her with a handful of toys and was given back 2. Why weren't they in her cage? I also provided her food and never got the rest of the bag back. Plus since she has been home she won't stop sneezing. I will be taking her to get vet soon. Finally I will end of do not board your cats here. They do not get the attention the dogs do. read more

I have gone to this store for years for both shopping and grooming needs. I will no longer go there anymore. I had called two days ago to schedule an appointment for my golden to get a bath and brush for today. The girl I talked to on the phone said there was no available time slot for the morning but they had an opening at 1pm. I said that would be fine. We showed up today at one and straight off the bat did not have a good feeling. There were four "groomers" standing behind their desks, while one was actually working on a small dog. No one said hi or seemed very welcoming. One groomer walked up and asked hoe she could help us. (She did not seem very happy). I told her we had an appointment at 1 o'clock. She logged onto her computer and looked around for a bit. The small dog that was being worked on was yipping and the groomer who had it was trying to calm it. But we did hear her make a comment that no one like you and to be quiet....now I know it can be annoying, but if you're working at a place with animals, that might not be something you choose to say in front of customers. (Because that makes me want you to really work on my dog.) After a bit, the "groomer" helping us said that was no appointment. Was I sure I made it at their store. I said yes and told her the information I gave the girl on the phone. She asked for my phone number and told me that my information was in there from before, but nothing about an appointment today. My fiancé was aggravated at this point, and her demeanor was unfriendly, so I told her that we will just go somewhere else from now on. And her response was, "alright." I've had 3 dogs and they have all been to Petsmart for grooming, I will no longer use them. read more

Had a problem with grooming department, when I called the store to make them aware the girl that answered was very rude and said that my dog had tried to bite the groomer multiple times and they didn't finished him. What a HORRIBLE experience. This is the third ( pet adoptions, aquarium & pet adoptions) time I attempted to spend my hard earned money at this location and was denied assistance? I waited patiently by the aquarium for 20 min before one nice lady came to assist me. One worker (Terrible Tina) who was pretending to be working nearby had somehow assembled five to six workers and they all stood around for another 20 minutes yapping about customers? I thought it was a prank...who does this? Shame on these lazy bottom-feeders who lack any customer service skills. The only reason I made a purchase at all was for my five yr old. I decided to make a complaint and the cashier who was professional called for a Mgr. Not surprise that one of the assembled bottom-feeders was the Mgr?? Joke! She( Lazy Leslie) pretended to be interested in my complaint until I told her that I had audio/video the entire conversation of the group and she blew her gray top. She snarled "what are you going to do with it"? This was so BAD that it turned a bit comedy. So we adopted a male schnauzer named Luke, Luke is 8 yrs old and a constant barker. We have another mini schnauzer that is a service dog. Luke had taught him to bark all the time as well. So I did some research and found the Sunbeam sonic egg. I read the reviews, some were good, some bad. So this is what I have learned about the sonic egg. We only activate it if we are going to be gone or we are expecting company. If you have loud noise in your house, like kids and loud TV. It will give your dog a blast constantly. So we bought the hand held egg as well. I keep it near me when the big egg is off. If the dogs start to bark, I push the button on the hand held and they stop right away. When they go out doors, if I hear them barking, I push the button and they shut right up. The large egg is 39.99 the hand held is 19,99. I want to buy a truck load of these. If you use them right and not to torture you animal. You will be so happy with this product. Walking our dogs is a whole new wonderful experience now. No pulling on the leashes or barking at everything that moves. This is much better than the shock collars and less painful for your pet if used properly. Use it as needed. My large egg has not been on for days and they do not bark at all. Our house is burglar proof, so I do not need my dogs to bark to protect us. We have taken good care of that.
