These twisted people want to stick nails in your dog unnecessarily. My wife, who is half Brazilian but is born in Europe where we have lived all put lives up until recently, came in for a nail trim of her 3 pound chihuahua but was denied because they require proof of rabies, which my wife actually had brought in the form of the actual dog passport which they ask for at border control, which has all vaccinations listed and dates and stamped. But they claimed the document could be fake and offered to re-do the rabies shot for money! As if my wife was the type of ghetto person who would forge a document, and would have a dog without vaccination! Understandably she felt very intimitated from these outrageous allegations. It would be a better idea if Petsmart got their staff vaccinated against rabies. We are NEVER coming back here!!! If the passport is good enough for US border control, it should be good enough for these bums. read more

This store is unable to serve its walk in customers, I went up and requested help and 15 minutes later the staff had closed down a register and was helping someone that had just walked in. The other person working the floor decided to help someone just standing there instead of helping those waiting for help. The manager Jack is not running this PetSmart in a customer friendly or efficient manner. This is why Amazon and other online stores are attracting the majority of the market. This location has by far the worst customer service out of any PetSmart I've ever been to. We're going to order our doggie door on Amazon, their customer service is really customer service. Do not recommend this Petsmart for grooming. Three times I had groomers call the day of within 2 hours of the appointment to cancel. The first reason I was told their website is wrong. I booked online for a 6pm grooming service, the groomer called and said the website was wrong that the last appointment was at 5:30pm. The second time they called to cancel because they said since my dog was 15 years old that they recommend the express service so as not to "stress my dog". Funny they just groomed him 3 months prior with no "express service". This place had always groomed my dog and now they want to do the "express service". The third time i do not even remember. It sound to me they either overbook themselves or they do not want to work and want to go home early. Will never go to that store for grooming or to even buy my pet supplies. read more

The employees are alright. It's a big chain store. I go here primarily for snake needs, and they will have the feed for my snakes according to schedule and on time. They might charge a little more than specialty reptile stores but heryou are much less likely to run into parasites or sick animals in your pet, its habitat, or its feed. read more

Came to get an item that was displayed on the website as being in stock at this location only to be told by, who I think is the manager, their website is inaccurate sometimes and they apologize they don't have our item. Asked if they have a way to check the next nearest Petsmart for us and they said they don't do that and we need to call ourselves, are we not in the 21s century? Not only did they waste our time by driving across town But they felt The need to keep us waiting when they brought out an alternative item to talk about their lunch breaks. literally holding the item they want to show us 5 feet away but are talking amongst themselves about who's going next to lunch. This store is disgusting. The management thinks it's ok to bag your dog food and set it on the dirty floor because their cash register area is full. The floor is disgusting and has not been cleaned. Not to mention the high volume of pet traffic and what is coming in. I brought up the existing dog flu and how that's going around and spreads easily and the did not seem to care. Went to this location to look at a Neater Feeder. They had one on the shelf and two stacked on the very top of the shelf. We asked to see the bottom feeder of the two that were stacked on the very top of the shelf because the one that we could reached (on the shelf) seemed to small for the size of our dog. The person that helped us said that they were the same size but went and got the ladder anyway. When she handed it to us it indeed was the same size so I asked her if they carried the larger size to which she responded in a sarcastic tone "that is the only size we carry which is the same size as the one on the shelf". When you work in retail I don't care if the customer wants to see something that is the same thing for whatever reason. DON'T BE RUDE! I brought my dog, Daphne, in for a bath and brush yesterday, which we're all very happy with. The service itself was all that could be expected. When we went to pick Daphne up, the employee that approached us couldn't seem to find her, later stating that, "she's already been picked up." Luckily, that horror only lasted a few seconds before we all learned that 2 different Daphnes had been scheduled for services that day, and no one stole my dog. The main reason for this review is that the bath and brush was listed at $30, to include nail trim, ear cleaning, etc. An additional $13 charge was added, titled as "NGAOBBFSGPRE" on my receipt. When I got home, I emailed customer service, and they informed me that that charge is for a nail grind. We never asked for a nail grind, and were never told me were going to incur an additional charge, other than what we asked for. After a short call with a remarkably sweet and helpful customer service representative today, we now have a $13 credit for the grooming spa, and were told to be VERY specific when dropping our pets off, as the groomers will sometimes ask questions that will lead to additional charges, without directly telling you that you will be paying extra. Petsmart will end up keeping that $13, as I don't ever want to bring my dog or cat to a groomer that will try to hide additional fees. read more

My heart aches for those customers who had really bad experiences with toenail grooming. However, I want to add that in my own ignorance, which I feel as though the pet hospital staff should have advised me eight years ago when I had my first dog under their care , that toenails need to be groomed/grinded 1-3 times a week in order to prevent overgrowth of the toenail, and the nail bed. I now have a four month old border collie, along with my first border collie and stumbled across this grooming, essential tip in order to prevent any further tonal issues in the future. Unfortunately. My eight-year-old border collie has had numerous toenail injuries due to my ignorance on this issue, which could have saved him a lot of pain and injury, and the lack of ability to stand on his paws, go for walks, and play while he has had to recuperate. Once the the toenails become overgrown ( and quick obviously) by the time the dog is an adult, the quick will no longer recede. If this poses a financial burden or if your dog is squeamish about being groomed at home, I suggest that you accustom your pet to a muzzle and do it yourself. You may need a partner to help you keep your pet on it's side, so standing up is not an option. Believe me, this has helped my dogs become far more manageable concerning procedures in general. read more

Do not take your dog to the Rainbow & Lake Mead location for boarding or day care. I had my dog there for the Thanksgiving weekend. First they had me wait over 20 minutes before someone would help me. Finally I told the manager & the girl behind the counter said she thought I was with the person she was helping which is bull because she had already said 20 minutes before "I'll be right with you". Plus two other workers came in & totally ignored me. My dog was not let out of her kennel for all of the 4 days. She came home with urine on all 4 of her paws. All of her toys & treats were still in her backpack, along with all of her pee pads. I told them she will only relieve herself on a pee pad & to be sure to put it down, which they did not. I called there all day on Thanksgiving & no one answered the phone. All of these dogs were left alone the whole day. That's awful! I paid extra for my dog to have individual playtime which she did not get. They say they give all of the dogs that are boarded two 15 minute walks a day & they walk them in the play area which means the play area has to be empty. Since they were full I did the math & it is impossible for them to do that. There's not enough hours in the day. There is no outside area. You will see large kennels in the front where it's visible, but my guess is that in the back outside of view are very small kennels. I complained to the manager, Scott Lloyd about this whole thing. He is a horrible person! He just offered me a free night & kept insisting that my dog was given her treats. I asked how then would all 12 treats still be in the bag? He had no answer. In fact, he had no answer to a lot of my complaints. I told him I want to see the kennel where my dog would be staying & that I wanted to set it up the way I had instructed or to have someone at least take a photo for me. He ignored me over & over. Great manager, huh? The fact that they wouldn't let me go "in the back" & the fact that they don't have cameras should tell you all that something is definitely not right with this place. They also put very large dogs with the small dogs in the play area. They say it's due to the large dog's temperament. The poor little dogs are terrified & are always getting pushed around by the large dogs. No other kennel puts large dogs with small dogs. When I went to pick her up, they tried to overcharge me, but I refused to pay that & finally got the rate that I was quoted. read more

Everyone (interacted with 5 staff member) was very attentive, super dog friendly and made our shy dog feel comfortable. Very clean accommodations, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Even gave us a first time discount (which made the boarding price go from 31 dollars to 22!) Impressed! read more

I have been taking my Shih Tzu and Silky terrier to PetSmart groomers for the last four years but after this last visit I will be looking for a new groomer. This is the second time one of them have come home with a razor burn and was miserable for two days. Usually the cuts are cute and the Shih Tzu was good but my Silky looked like Edward scissor hands cut his fur. After the first time there was a razor burn and we had to go to the vet which the groomer paid for and we got reimbursed for the grooming I should have not went back but I gave them another chance and my poor dog paid for it. Took my dog to the dog day care just for them to turn him away because he received his shots 24 hrs before. No where on the website does it say anything about them not being able to take the dog for "48 hrs". Then when I got my dog he was damp and he was shedding all over and I paid for the shedding treatment so they charged me extra for something I didn't even get. On July 6, I boarded my 6 month old English bulldog at pet smart doggie hotel. We paid for a private atrium and private play times because I didn't want my baby playing with strange dogs. On July 9th I received a call from Pet smart staff that my puppy had developed a severe limp. They told me they had no idea what had happened. My wife and I cut our vacation short flew home and drove directly to Pet smart to pick up our puppy. When we arrived we found our puppy limping and she could not put any pressure on her hind leg, she appeared to be in pain and wasn't her normal happy self. We drove straight to our veterinarian where we were informed her leg was fractured. My veterinarian recommended the Las Vegas veterinary Specialty center where she underwent surgery to repair her leg. I've contact Pet Smart and the store manager told me he didn't know what had happened. He informed me he would report it to their headquarters in Arizona for investigation. It's been over a month and I've contacted pet smarts cooperate office various times by phone and email and no one has contacted me yet. I can not believe that my puppies leg was broken while in their care and no one wants to accept responsibility. By not contacting us it just reaffirms Pet Smart doesn't care about pets in their care, after such a terrible experience is unimaginable that no one has had the decency or courtesy to pick up the phone and check on my little girl. Took both my cats to get their nail caps put on and the "Groomer" named KAT did not glue the nails on properly! There was glue all over my cats paws and fur. Also she clipped the caps after putting them on. Never had someone do that to my cats nails before. This so called groomer named KAT obviously doesn't know anything about actual cats! In the photos you can see what she did not to mention on one of my cats she only put caps on her two front paws and had the audacity to tell me my cat took off all her nails in the matter of 20 minuets! No way! My cat doesn't do that. Can't believe the attitude of this so called groomer. My poor cat is in pain and wakes funny because her poor paws hurt. I would never recommend this location if you own cats!!! Petsmart on North 5th street always does the best job! Only reason why I went here is because North 5th street was booked out! read more

He still smells and the lady told me they were unable to clip his nails because he was crying and wanted to stop before they hurt him, which I completely understand but wish they could have offered to knock a couple dollars off the bill. Overall I was satisfied with their services. Took my dog for a total grooming, which took about 2 hours. My dog seemed happy after all was said and done, BUT when we got home, he was unusually thirsty. He drank his entire water bowl (and hes got a very large water bowl) and its very unlike him to be as thirsty as he was. Is it that hard to give these pets a drink of water if your going to keep them for that long? Please show some concern if you notice a pet is thirsty. We left our Boxer here for one night, were supposed to pick her up later that evening the next day but our plans changed so we were able to pick her up early and we were glad we did. We dropped our dog off with her own food, snacks and her favorite blanket. Called to check up on her, they said she's doing great. Came to pick her up the next day but they were giving me a different dog!!! This Boxer was an older Boxer and the person was confused and told me "are you sure this isn't your dog?"!!! Are you kidding me, this dog looked frightened. Lucky us, our dog was in a different kennel still there, I can only imagine what would have happened to my girl if my dog wasn't there. So this whole time, the wrong dog was sleeping on my dogs blanket and eating her food and treats. Today, my dog's poop was watery, probably because of the wrong food she ate! I can only imagine how much worse it could have been if my dog has an alergic reaction to certain foods, not to mention the other dog. read more

Was going to pick up some cat food at Costco the other day before leaving town but looked up the reviews and everyone says it gave their pets diarrhea. I took my pup for a haircut for the very first time , the lady was unorganized, she obviously didn't understand me , I travel around for work 9/10 times a month , we aren't from Vegas and I was traveling to a much hotter place that same day so I decided to take him for a cut so he would be some what ready for the weather , they took 3 hours with him , and all they did was cut his nails and tried to cut his face but gave up half way , sprayed puppy perfume and called it a day , what has me more upset is that they attempted to cut under his belly and cut his belly , they didn't even tell me anything, my pup rolled over so I could see it all in all I paid $40.00 if you love your baby's (pets) don't take them, now my pet doesn't even let me pet him I don't know what they did to him I hope this helps anyone who wanted to go ,or was curious read more

I've been during my babies here cause it's to hot for them to play in parks. Bailey goes the most for she is a one yr old puppy.. They are so awesome here. They truly care about he animals. Bailey always comes home happy and excited to go back the next time. They keep me informed on her daily activities and behavior! This review is for the salon. I took my dog here to get her nails trimmed for the second time. However for some resond this time she was a bit more figgity then normal and I thought it was just because of getting her nails cut. When I noticed that the employee was cutting the nails so short that she started to bleed. I walked in from behind the glass and addressed this to the man. He said that she moved and he cut her twice. After hearing that I got worried. He then told me if I can just leave due to making my dog more nervous. The vet bill was as much as the pet hotel. I understand how contagious & air born kennel cough can be; however, with that said how does this happen with a hospital affiliated with the same pet hotel business. Since I've adopted so many animals, I should have checked into countless PetSmart locations. But I wasn't a "Yelper" until recently. Today, I came in for my cat. His name is EGYPT and I just recently adopted him the other day from the animal shelter on Mojave. (That was my most recent review) I just wanted to get him some basic things, like toys and treats. Also to gradually get him off the science diet brand the shelter uses. This location, as all locations are fairly well kept and clean. I've never had any problems with employees at any location. They are very informative and quick to give information and instructions if needed. Things are quite overpriced at PetSmarts like ALL others, but we all know it's one if not the only pet store where your animals needs came be found easily. So I think that's why people pay an extra few bucks when shopping here. The fact you can bring your pet inside to shop with you is great. They also have grooming, and training available. A pet hotel as this location, which is a major plus if going out of town or work gets in the way of caring for your pet . Some locations such as this one have a pet hospital too. I rarely leave poor Yelp reviews, but after about 3 poor experiences (out of maybe 5), I'm pretty irritated. The staff is incredibly unhelpful - when asked a simple question about their products, the cashier told me she didn't know and didn't even bother to help me find the answer. Meanwhile, I'm holding two leashes attached to two large dogs in one hand and she didn't bother to see if maybe I'd like her to hand me my large bag of dog food. And nobody else wanted to see if I might need help out to my car. Or up to the counter, for that matter. They are rude - when I walked in with a large puppy who has never experienced all the good smells of a pet store, one woman just blatantly said "well who's walking who?" I don't care if it's a joke or not - I did not ask her for her opinion on my training methods of my 5 month puppy. Petsmart may be the closest store to my house that carries my dog's sensitive stomach food, but I will not be back. I'll be headed to Amazon for my food, toys, and treats from now on. read more

I really love this Petsmart. The people who work here are super friendly and helpful. I've taken my dog to the training classes here. The trainer, Natalie, really knows her stuff. She was very helpful. They also have a great selection of tons of great products. Other Petsmarts have been frustrating when I need to get an employee's assistance with things locked away behind glass and things like that. I have been going to pet smart for all my puppy needs. I signed him up for training, grooming, needed boarding, and wanted to bring him to puppy play day. This was all before I learned that he wouldn't have group play and my dog would be discriminated against since he has pitbull in him. Corporate didn't care. Everyone at the store loves my pup and I was very bothered by this ridiculous policy. This is an animal facility. I refunded my training and will go to Petco for all my needs from now on since they love all animals! This should be a dog by dog basis (temperament test) because the reality is most dogs are angels. read more
