Small but cute farm. I remember doing an Easter egg hunt in the big field in the back when I was little. Not sure if they have any animals (didn't see any). The iced coffee is alright (not the best). There's a country store feel to Phantom Farms, and the friendly staff really want you to feel well-served. The space is comfortable for sitting a bit while enjoying a sandwich or a yummy muffin or scone. There are a number of socially distanced outdoor tables, with a table with disinfectant and paper towels and hand sanitizer to help yourself (staff were also cleaning). Iced coffee choices come in many flavors and levels of caffeine. The coffee is a tad weak, even for those of us who are used to the stuff Dunkin' serves. Phantom Farms is great! I absolutely love coming here during any time of year. Especially in the fall. The ambiance is so cute and charming. They have a good variety of pastries, sandwiches, and other little items such as jewelry, jams, candles, etc. I especially like the cookies and my number one recommendation is the Fruits of the Forest pie. Other farms carry this same pie as well as it is not made on site, however, I don't care. It's delicious! There are a few tables to sit at outside to enjoy their food and this is a good place to bring the kids. My three year old loved visiting here on a recent trip to Rhode Island. I've been coming to Phantom Farms for 10+ years. It's been where it would stop to get coffee every morning. I'm standing here writing this review as 4 employees are behind the counter 3 people waiting. It's been 10 minutes since I received a text for my loyalty rewards and I'm waiting for a sandwich in the case with no condiments to be handed to me. New management is hard and we all want to add our personal touches to things. But if it isn't broken don't fix it. Waiting 10+ minutes for a sandwich and coffee that are all premade is not good service. And when you speak up being met with a snarky remark someone is training is rude. Perspective of the customer a lot of people chit chatting and one older lady working who is running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I have been a faithful customer since 2014 but I'm totally done with this place now. PH was a great place under the former owner but since the change the pies went from $16 to $24, the coffee and the service are awful, and the wait times are ridiculous. The last 5 or 6 times I went in I had my muffin handed to me then you stand off to the side to wait 10-15 minutes with 5 or 6 other people for your coffee. Meanwhile the cashier is just standing there. I don't understand what their system is supposed to be but if does not work. Phantom Farm has been a popular Cumberland institution for years. Unfortunately, I think they are under new ownership and their recent decisions meant modernize and grow the business are poor and very disappointing to long time customers. At Christmas, the gorgeous thirty something dollar wreaths were missing! I decided to buy a plain one and decorate it myself and when I got the register and learned the wreath was 60 bucks, I put it back, went to Home Depot and got close to the same item for 25. What a shame. After a week off after the holidays, they rolled out a new system. The old one wasn't broken. All this is doing is creating lines and making people late. The last straw came today. I asked for a medium coffee with a splash of almond milk. The cost was 3.98. I was shocked. Who do they think they are? Starbucks! Well in any case, I'm to say my visits now will be sparse. A Saturday purchase of triple berry, peach & berry, and apple cinnamon muffins I need to say that either you have a very hungry group of people baking wanting to eat the fruit or you have definitely cut way back on the fruit per muffin. It is a large muffin but mostly muffin mix. Also asking for tip money to place items into 2 bags instead of 1 box as it was in the past is rather tacky. I haven't even eaten product yet. My wife and I chose this sunshine filled day to go apple picking. The 2 people that helped us gave the sunshine a run for its money with how pleasant and knowledgeable they were. Erica, inside was very nice and even added some helpful hints as to warming our cheese danish. When are you going to realize that it's alright to get ahead on the food orders and not wait until people get to the register. When no one is in line and there is literally 8-10 people waiting for the same thing, there is a problem. Go back to the previous ordering way. The road appearance is great, a very nice looking place with pumpkins and apples, and offers fresh apple cider on sight. All that is great except for the bakery and coffee shop, I find it to be mediocre compared to all other coffee shops I've been to. The coffee is nothing to write home about and the pastries are just average.. I believe it's very expensive when the product is just plain and nothing special. I was disappointed with the quality of customer service by an older woman who was unfriendly and very short with me over the way I asked my coffee to be handled. This only happening after I was cashing out and the system asking for a tip... with that being said I always have a few dollars for tip and I do not tip through the system. So not sure if it was the case or not but how she treated me after seeing the no tip on screen causing her rude behavior. I will not be wasting my time here and anyone else who wishes to experience a better place should go else where. I honestly hate writing bad reviews but my experience is important to address what should be fixed here. Yesterday i went to make a pie with said apples, and all the apples at the top looked okay, but hidden under those most of the apples were bruised and cut. I want to love you phantom farms. Why do you have to make it so hard sometimes? Let me tell you what I've never had at Wrights Dairy Farm, STALE pumpkin roll. You cannot pre-cut the rolls and leave them in the fridge too long because the cake gets hard. It should not have the texture of styrofoam, especially in the early afternoon. I find it hard to believe the pumpkin rolls are so award winning as they say. The flavor has improved but what on earth. I seriously think they put it in the fridge last night and let it sit there, ick. The filling was very good. It's been awhile since I tried one of these here and it wasn't much better than the last time. I do love the apple pies, iced coffee, brownies, and muffins here. Other stuff is hit or miss. I no longer see the jars of peanut butter or Gerbs pumpkin seeds here. It is a cute place and the staff is always nice. They have added a seating area that was not there years ago so you can hang out for a bit, and they carry sandwiches and cheese now. No mention anywhere on social media or Google search. 2nd time was today. How can you be out of your signature item, the blueberry muffin, at 10am on a Sunday? It is just not worth it for me to travel to Phantom Farms anymore. Please consider updating your hours or announcing closures or shortages of products in the future. As Homer Simpson would say....Mmmmm....pie! Stopped in while out on a Sunday bike ride, looking for some corn. Thought we had arrived too late as the corn bin was empty, almost cried...No, not really but I was so looking forward to some late summer New England corn so had to ask. The kind cashier made a call and some more was brought out. Yay! It was delish...sweet and juicy. The star however, were the mini-pies. We had a choice of blueberry and apple and well, couldn't decide so got both. Wow, were they good...fruit was juicy and the crust was flaky. They were really cute too; I had wanted to take pictures but the pies didn't stick around long enough for a photo session. The farm stand has a full bakery case of items such as pecan roll, cream puffs, and fruit squares. All looked so good. Even have a display case of fudge and chocolates. This place is great for coffee. They have really great pastries(try the Tiramisu or the Oreo Congo bar) for a very Fall season thing to do, they have apple picking, pumpkins, and corn stalks.
