Great staff! They are knowledgeable about their offerings and always willing to give a sample or two. It wasn't too crowded, wasn't too loud, and atmosphere was inviting. We ordered food and stayed for 2-3 beers with a group of 6. Our only complaint was the tofu and chicken served on the salads. It seemed like they used precooked tofu and chicken that they then reheated or grilled but it comes out tasting freezer burnt and grainy. It must be the way they are reheating it because no one at our table was able to eat the chicken or tofu read more

Enjoyed a few leisurely late afternoon beers followed by dinner at P3. First, the beer is outstanding, and the reason to get yourself to P3. They serve numerous draft beers covering all the main styles, and offer multiple pour sizes. I tried two pilsners, two IPA's, and a stout. All were excellent. (5) The food menu is fairly small but somewhat eclectic, ranging from smash burgers to Filipino lumpia to Vietnamese bahn mi to entrees such as ribeye steak or red snapper. I opted for the double smash burger with the house special honey butter fries. The burger was outstanding, but the fries disappointed somewhat. The menu called them "crispy", but they were rather soggy. Still tasty, but I suspect they'd been sitting under a heat lamp too long (4). The servers are friendly and knowledgeable, providing attentive service and cheerfully answering all my questions about the beer. The space is certainly comfortable with plenty of outdoor seating in front, along the side, and out back all surrounding the main indoor dining room which features a long bar along one wall. I wish they'd lose the background music they play, which I can only describe as "trendy elevator". It seems like an all too obvious attempt to be cool and hip. (4) Overall, I give Phase Three a 4 rating, but with a couple of fairly simple tweaks they could earn a 5. If you're a fan of craft beer, you should definitely check this place out. read more

Tried Phase 3 over the weekend and we were so impressed with the ambience and detail with the eating and bar area. There is an area towards the back where you can purchase beer to-go and it didn't interfere with the restaurant/dining space. The service was wonderful and everyone was really friendly and attentive. I noticed the staff take care of an older couple waiting outside for a table and a family with four young children. The beer was delicious and lots of options to choose from. I didn't try their seltzers but their cocktail offerings looked unique. It felt like we were in the city with the hustle and bustle and the level of energy! read more

We found this place quite by accident and decided to give it a try. Very happy to have done so. While I am not taken with this current brew pub jive - there are a couple who get it right. Phase 3 is one of those places. The atmosphere was relaxing - there was a loud family at the next table - but they left soon after we arrived and we were able to have a nice conversation. The young man who worked our table was calm and polite and took our order quickly. He was just a good kid who wanted to make sure us old duffers had a nice meal. He was attentive - but he didn't hover. I ordered the Umami burger and my amor ordered the chopped salad. She orders a lot of chopped salads and she really liked this one. She said it was exactly the way a chopped salad should be - chopped. Many places don't really chop so much as cut it up. She can outcook any place I have ever eaten so if she likes something - it's good. The Umami burger was a double smash burger with a variety of condiments including a bleu cheese sauce. It came on an onion bun. It was a knock out. Fresh meat and complex - but delicious - sauces and a healthy helping of their home made chips. Perfect. I don't drink during the day - but I did take some beer home. I hope this place sticks around. I know I'll be back. They have some competition in town - but their food and service places them ahead of the pack. read more

What a terrific job the Phase Three folks have done with this space. I was expecting a taproom with bites but got an incredible restaurant (Brewpub) experience. They spared little expense, Every detail considered. Multiple indoor and outdoor dining options. Beautiful bar area. Impeccable interior design. Oh and the tap beer was amazing, had DDH 494 and a sour. Sampled the menu with a few apps, very good flavors and seasoning (duck fat fried chips + pimento dip). They were doing a very brisk business but the shocker was how smoothly the operation was running. Service was great, no panicked servers (at least that's how it appeared to this patron). This Banh Mi was SO GOOD!! The sweet pork was cooked perfectly and the sauce + veggies + baguette made the sandwich phenomenal. The beer selection was great as well - I love a Hazy IPA which they had plenty to choose from. The service was alright, I typically expect breweries to have ok service as most bartenders at these establishments have a certain attitude. Pretty typical of what you'd expect especially around closing time. But the food itself was worth a trip back and 5 stars! read more

Of course the beer is great . . . and we were happy to see that there were improvements made to the food portions. Subtle atmosphere, I was there just after the summer menu and hours were cut. I'm allergic to pork so was pretty sad I missed the summer selection, until I tasted the burger. Amazing quality, perfect cook, and the house made chips were top notch too. (Note, this is a brewery, and I don't drink. No pork and no booze cut 90% of the menu!) If you don't eat meat there's only one vegetarian dish and it's tofu based. This might not be the place for you in the winter if you're looking for healthier selections. But if you want a good burger this is the spot! And I imagine the pork dishes are even more amazing. Also all the men at the bar had very trendy beards and drove long distances for their fancy beer. We've been coming to P3 somewhat regularly over the last year. The food and beer have always been great, but we typically sit on the patio with our dog. Today, it was a chilly, windy, fall day and we had our dog + a dog we are watching. In the past, we've had issues with service on the patio. Today, Joe took care of us. He was one of the best servers we've had in years. He was so nice, great to our pups, made great conversation, and checked on us frequently. The food and beer were great as always, but Joe made the difference. Side Note: Love their NFL game day wing sauce which changes each week based upon the team the Bears are playing. I knew the beer was going to be good, but I was amazed by how interesting, beautiful, and delicious the food was. We shared the corn ribs, lumpia, a burger, and fish + chips. The burger and fish + chips are greatly elevated versions of standard pub fare (fresh caught local walleye on the fish is a great touch), but the reason I will be going back is to check out more of the Filipino-inspired dishes. The lumpia (sort of a crispy-fried thin egg-roll) were incredible. Nice atmosphere, though open and a little loud. Possibly my new favorite restaurant in Elmhurst. Multiple people had given it high marks, so I went in with high expectations. And somehow Phase Three exceeded them. There are a wide variety of beers on tap. I had the brown ale which was delicious. We shared the spring roll appetizers with the table, with everyone in our party of four having two. Their extensive menu makes choosing a meal challenging. For dinner my wife and I finally decided to share a couple of entrees. The burger was very good as was the double fried chicken sandwich. Went there today with my mom, husband and 2yo son for apps and for beer. Ordered a 2 apps, my husband had 2 beers and we ordered my son the kids charcuterie board. The chips/dip were delicious as were the lumpia but they were unfortunately out of the onion rings. My mom is very picky and that was the only item that appealed to her so being out of it was a bummer. Also to note, the kids menu states that the items include juice or milk and then a choice of fries, chips, fruit or greens. We realized we were not offered that for my sons order so asked the waiter. His response is that the charcuterie does not include that, which is no where stated on the menu. There should be a note on the menu or it should be mentioned when ordering. My son loves fries so we likely would have chosen something else for him. Other than that, the place itself is beautiful and welcoming. Definitely will be back! read more

First I need to note we are not beer drinkers, so it probably wasn't a good idea to check this place out. But it's new in town and wanted to see what it was about. Need to note besides beer the only other option is a flavored seltzer, which was ok. Wouldn't order it again. Had the P3 pimento cheese appetizer which didn't have enough chips based on the amount of cheese, but it was tasty. They did offer more chips, but we were getting ready to leave. Kind of a cold atmosphere inside. Service was very good. If you like beer, it might be a wonderful place, but if you don't there really aren't any other options besides the seltzer. They should at least offer wine as it extremely limits their guests. Not everyone drinks beer. Wish them the best as there's a lot of competition nearby. read more

The hostesses were yelling at us literally telling us not to stand on the left if we were waiting. Finally service at our table from Sara was so slow. She was very nice but service was slow. I've been meaning to try this place for a while now. Finally found an excuse to go visit Elmhurst downtown. It was Wednesday and it was kind of quiet. Has a feeling of a neighborhood bar but a bit higher end. The staff was very attentive and great recommendations and pairings between the food and the beer. I sampled a few and landed on one that I liked. The food was great. The corn ribs were a surprised, definitely not a knife and fork experience. The lumpia was okay but my favorite was the beef sisig. I literally had two bowls of rice with that thing and probably could lick the rest of the plate. It was so good! I must say, prices are way higher than what I remember from a few years ago. Grant and I haven't been visiting breweries much in the last few years. The food here is so good. The smash burger is amazing paired with the housemade chips. Ask for the french onion dip to go with the chips - so good. The wings are also amazing. I don't know where they are sourced from, but they are huge. Both the dry rub and the black garlic buffalo sauce are super tasty. And the wings have a great crunch to them. The cheese curds - OMG - they are crusted with the housemade chips. TO DIE FOR! So good. We have been here on a Monday and Tuesday. The special is not promoted at all but it is a tremendous value. I really wanted to like this place but it was just average. The food was good not great. Beer was good but could have been colder. Our server was very nice and helpful. The place is small and VERY LOUD with a lot of tables, so it felt crowded and uncomfortable. They have a weird space in the back that felt disconnected from the rest of the place and the patio is small and in the parking lot. We won't be rushing back any time soon. read more
