Been here a few times now, i tend to come whenever I'm in town. Always found the food to be very tasty. Had the NY strip steak tonight, and I'll have to say it was probably the best steak I've had in a long time. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. We frequently stop by for snacks, dinner and drinks and generally the atmosphere is fine and the food is great. However, service recently has left much to be desired. On three occasions, including this evening, we were seated at a table and waited excessively long periods of time to be served. Tonight we waited over 25 minutes before walking out, as nobody has even come to take an initial order. It looks like we may be looking for a new local spot. read more

I've only been here after 10pm on a weekend, so I can't comment on how it is during the day, but while I've been there it's been very crowded. Theres two rooms, one more talking/sitting/hanging out in the back room and more dancing in the front. Younger crowd for sure, but not as bad as some other east village bars. This is one of my favorites. I go there after midnight to get a drink and dance a little, so I don't know about their food, but as a bar it's perfect. It's always filled with cool people, the bartender is really nice and the interior design of the place makes you feel comfortable. read more

I've been a fan for over 35 years, at a time when there were few places to eat and drink in EV. Great drinks, great pub food, great wait staff. Love Phebe's! They always have good happy hour deals, the food is great, AND it's a fun nightlife spot. I went there for my birthday one year and everyone had the best time. We all got tons of drinks and didn't spend an arm and leg, and were able to dance and really enjoy ourselves. It's also in a really fun neighborhood. I've always had an amazing time here. read more

The crowd here is just TOO iffy. However, the waitstaff are really attentive and nice. It totally seems out of place in NYC. Get the wings and the mozz sticks and just go have a fun bar night. Very spacious and good place to come drink and eat. They have a decent selection of beers on tap and the prices are fairly normalish/high $5-$6 for a beer on a regular night. They have a restaurant area that serves pretty good food from what I saw. read more

I went here with a friend after had a bad meal. The manager comped us a second meal on the house which was very nice. We decided to switch to the salmon which was delicious! Well there are ups and downs. They have 10 cent wings with a pitcher on Wednesdays, but they overprice pitchers a bit. Biggest issue was it was the longest wait I have ever had in my life in NYC for my food, we are NYC we expect quick service. I ordered a sandwich (pretty basic) however the server forgot to place the order, I think, she said the kitchen just got messed up and didn't make it, but after that didn't return to check on us all night. I would have been appeased had she just been honest and up front. Overall I waited 1hr and 15mins for a sandwich from time of order. Not too great- she also didn't comp anything out or give anything to replace the mistake- just avoided us like zika. Heads up Casey- next time being honest goes a long way- mistakes happen, it's cool, just own it. Hopefully your experience goes a little better- Cheers. read more

Came in here around 10pm on a Saturday night. No cover and they just look at your ID (they don't scan it). Plenty of space and you could order a drink at the bar pretty quickly. Within an hour and a half, the place was totally changed. The DJ started playing some good music and basically everyone was on their feet dancing. Some of the guys were cute but a little awkward and didn't know how to approach the girls...guys, just ask us for a dance! Anyways, the crowd was mostly 20-somethings and maybe some 30-somethings too. A pretty good ratio of guys to girls and honestly it was just a lot of fun to dance to the music with my girls. Only con (which I took off a star for) was that it got SOOOOOOO packed by midnight, you didn't even really have the space to dance but we tried to manage. There were also bottles that fell on the ground so basically there was shattered glass on the dance floor. I would definitely recommend this place to someone that wants to dance the night away! read more

Good place for sports games during happy hour. Half price drinks and apps before 8pm. Also 10 cents wings on Weds. Can't go wrong with that. Get the spinach dip! Food is actually good for a sports bar. The staff is friendly and quick with food. read more

Phebe's is that hip little place I can't get off my mind. Whether I'm bounding about the Big Apple, or on the occasional whim, a quick drive in from Westchester County for a delicious burger and a beer. Being that most of the reviews I have read are about how great the happy hour is I'm happy to say that I can give a review about what this place is like after hours (11:00 and after on a Saturday night). Positives: -No Cover, can't complain about this considering a cover can quickly ruin a night -Music, quality DJ playing all night that kept you wanting to dance, although there wasn't much room for it -Back bar with a little space, I don't think a lot of people realized that there was a back bar that provided more room as the front was quite crowded -Decent prices, I honestly only bought myself one drink, a Bud Light bottle for $5. I think that's reasonable for a Saturday night in NYC Negatives: -Fratty, the crowd that showed up here seemed to be a little to fratty for my liking. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to complain about good looking guys that work in NYC but these guys were overly aggressive and seemed to be popping around from one girl to another, to each their own I guess Crowded front bar, luckily a friend of mine arrived there early and was able to secure prime real estate at the corner of the bar, otherwise it was tough to move around. At night, the staff are INCREDIBLY rude. One of the staff members said I couldn't sit on one of the stools and threatened to kick me out for sitting down on it. He also bumped into me many times maliciously and did not say excuse me. No staff should ever treat a patron that way. He completely ruined my experience. read more

I I could give this place less than 1 I would. They kicked us out for buying 2 beers, and saying hey we are military. The manager was a nasty person. The only redemption was the security guy. He tried to alleviate the situation. Not any place I would go to again. read more
