BUYER beware!!! This review is based entirely on my documented experience. I trusted Phil Waterford's Manteca Ford with my Ford Transit, a commercial vehicle my business depends on. That decision led to over a year of breakdowns, unsafe situations, and thousands of dollars in losses. The original issue was engine overheating only while towing. Instead of identifying and fixing the root cause, the dealership replaced a transmission 2x's and two engines while repeatedly assuring me the problem was resolved. After the first engine replacement, I picked up the van and noticed it had only 8 miles to empty on the fuel gauge after they had test driven it. The vehicle was returned to me without being fueled, which I found completely irresponsible. I barely made it to a gas station before running out of fuel, which is not how any customer should receive a vehicle after a major repair. Within minutes of leaving the dealership, the van shut down on the freeway. Rather than towing it, I was instructed to drive it back in limp mode. I was later charged for additional repairs that followed immediately after their engine install. The vehicle continued to experience severe power loss, overheating, and major fluid leaks. Eventually, after two engines and two transmissions, the dealership replaced the radiator -- and for the first time, the towing-related overheating stopped. This confirmed the cooling system was the issue all along. Later, the vehicle broke down out of state and was taken to another Ford dealership. That dealership documented installation-related issues and also identified exhaust/EGR components that were old, soot-covered, and reinstalled during both engine replacements at Manteca Ford, rather than being replaced. These are parts that reasonably should have been replaced during an engine replacement, especially after two separate installs. Manteca Ford has refused to reimburse me for these repair costs and other related expenses and has stopped responding to emails and messages entirely. I now have an active case open with Ford Motor Company / Ford Pro and am providing full documentation for corporate review. If you are a business owner or rely on your vehicle for towing or work, I strongly recommend servicing your vehicle elsewhere.

This place was a mistake from day one. The final straw is the fact they sold me a used car without a seat belt, which is AGAINST the LAW in California and they REFUSE to order and install said seatbelt. Mind you, this was a used car purchase for a teenager. Especially considering I have messaged them about this multiple times, and they've officially ghosted me. In fact they (ERIC) sent me a link to a general parts store to not only find the seatbelt myself, but apparently to buy and install it myself as well. The finance guy is a whole different issue. He was staring at his watch complaining the paperwork was taking too long. Completely rude and disrespectful. We drove over two hours after work, to which they agreed to meet with us late, then the finance guy treated like we were the biggest inconvenience. What a joke. Lastly, the engine light is already on less than two months after purchasing. Do NOT purchase from this place. I decided against buying a used vehicle off marketplace because I wanted to purchase from a trusted dealership. This was NOT IT.

I love everything about this dealership! From the moment I walked in( 2021) until now, 4/9/25. The salesmen are kind and not pushy. The finance guy is also extremely kind and helpful, he offered a lot of education and help understanding of what the Process was going to be. I have gotten my car serviced here in the quick lane, Allan is the best. Also super Helpful, kind and is always so helpful, treats you like family, literally. We're in and out quick and if there is a wait, he tells you ahead of time, offers you to leave the car and he will arrange transportation to go back home and get picked back up when it's done. read more

Today I bought my second vehicle from Manteca Ford! I was in touch with my salesperson Johnny, who sold me my 2022 Bronco, the past few days and told him I was in the hunt for a 2024 Ranger Raptor. They happened to have the color I was looking for and we set an appointment for today. As I pulled up it was parked out front and detailed ready for a test drive. I HATE TO WASTE A GOOD STAR This review is based on an experience with the service department: This place is taking advantage of their elderly customers! My father (85+ years old) needed a new battery and insisted he wanted to get it from the dealership. Even though I told him I could purchase and install the battery, he wanted to go to the dealership to also have the multi point inspection done. So, I jumped his car and followed him to the dealership. we were met by friendly service staff who promptly looked up the size battery needed for his small SUV. He gave a quote of $159.99 (not including $18 core charge) and even double checked to make sure it was in stock. he even gave a discount for installation from $50 down to $25. At this point I thought that they were going to take good care of him. Before going to the dealership, I checked the website to see if they happened to have any existing coupons he could use because I know at times they would post coupons for customers as an incentive. They had one for $149 (which I was later told they don't carry in stock and would have to be ordered) but since the price quoted was comparative, I wasn't too concerned about using it. A $10 difference isn't worth arguing about when we're already there. Unfortunately, I had an appointment to go to and left, but not until price and availability was verified and they took his car into a bay for replacement. He was told it would take about 20-30 minutes. I checked on him a couple hours later and discussed the experience where he told me the battery price was $199. after all other additional charges (core, core credit, tax, installation), his final billing was $244!!! has was expecting a bill somewhere around $190-$200. Being off by 10-15 bucks is one thing but $40-$60 is a big hit for anyone in 2025 ($50 is $50!), especially for someone on a fixed income. However, It's not just about affordability. The PRINCIPAL is more important than the dollar amount! The next day, I went back to the dealership with him and spoke to the service manager, Alan. He attempted to talk down to my father, in front of me, like what he was quoted was not true. He did not know that I was witness to the quote also. Alan's attitude towards this situation set the wrong tone for the rest of the 'conversation'. Problem ONE: You don't diminish a concern or complaint of a customer, nor do you speak as if he doesn't maintain the capacity to understand an overcharge! Problem TWO: They didn't give him a written estimate of the price and charge for services. Problem THREE: When Preston, the service associate confirmed that $159 was the quote he gave, ALAN still didn't want to own up to their mistake and honor the quote given. Understand - The decision was made based on the price quoted. to me, this is a tell-tale sign that this service department will do a bait and switch on pricing to their customers when they already have their cars pretty much held hostage in a work bay. Knowing that this dealership is minority owned, I thought that this would be a safe place for a fair and just treatment to anyone regardless of background or age. Obviously, that is not the case, at least not in the service department. Eventually my father was set to receive a $40 credit for the over charge. It doesn't matter if the quote was wrong. That's what was told, a customer's decision was agreed to because of it, and it should be honored. No need to argue when the facts are what they are! Because of how the service department decided to treat my father, I can guarantee he, I, nor anyone in my immediate family and broad circle of friends will do any further business with PHIL WATERFORD's FORD! read more

My car has 111k miles when i brought it in and then just 8k miles later for the head gasket to fail. I took it back to them after they said it was probably my fuel injectors. Got the fuel injectors replaced at Honda under warranty. Just for them to tell me I need a new engine and the injectors were never replaced when they were. They don't keep their word, they will make up a story to cover their asses instead of being transparent. The cherry on top they will make you sign a quote for a "new engine" where it says nothing about a new engine and everything about the story they made up. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I reached out to this shop for an emergency alignment job. I had previously taken my car into a…read morenational, well-known franchise for regular maintenance. They informed me an alignment couldn't be completed by their shop. Unfortunately, after getting it back, my car was nearly impossible to steer, I would get thrown into other lanes and it felt like my car was going to slide right off the tires. It was dangerous to drive. Enter Manteca Tire & Wheel Outlet, after explaining what I needed I was told I could bring it in. They were open about not being able to do the job as well (I've owned the car for 10 years now, with several shops having difficulties aligning it--and no shop ever being able to get it to spec., even when the car was stock. It's a clear manufacturer defect.) And while it did take some time to complete, they were rather busy at the time, and still found time to accommodate me for this emergency. But they were very communicative during the entire process. They were even super apologetic they couldn't align it to spec., which I fully expected. Price was fairly good, much better than the previous shop, and they even gave me a break because it couldn't fully be aligned correctly. The car drives so much better now. Completely thankful to Manteca Tire & Wheel Outlet for getting this done and their honesty throughout the process!

I had buy Range Rover advertising price was $89000 got offer accept for $88000 plus tax and fees after while they run my credit check out my name wrong there they have to do it twice it showing on my credit report let's start the next part I got loan approval from Wells Fargo and sale person came to me he was like am sorry man we selling you this car for cheaper then market value and come up with his plan for $94000 plus tax and fees with this much down my payment will be this much I was like what you mean by that we had deal for $88000 your tag price is $89000 he was it was with mistake sorry I can't do anything I walk out from his office went straight to person who run my credit report I was why you run my credit if you not gonna sell me for that deal why now change price after credit check he your were young we thought you might won't approve for loan I was like what start yelling at him I was you need to make that deal happen cuz you run my credit after we sign a deal you can't change price then I guess owner came up take time to his office after while I was end up paying another $1000 that one part even mileage was 3000 high what they put on papers they did not even service before sell it to me wow never going back read more

My son Charlie and I walked on the lot just to see what they had. Greeted right away by Eric (this gets 1 star) we briefly spoke while we were looking around, Eric excused himself and came back with Bill to further answer any questions we might have (this is 1 star). Long story short, Bill got me behind the wheel, and we took a test drive in a Bronco Sport. Between Charlie asking about the ride, the vehicle the feel, lol I kept replying, YES its Ford (I grew up with my dad always having Ford vehicles, I owned Ford cars) and Bill educating me more on these new Bronco Sports (gets 1 star) plus the great Labor Day incentives that were offered (1 star), we later drove off the lot with the 2023 Hot Pepper Red Bronco Sport Outer Banks. Our experience was exactly what I have always believed car searching should actually feel like, easy and relaxed, friendly and professional. Not only do you drive away feeling like a star customer and part of the Phil Waterford family (got 1 star). It is with sadness I have to write this review because the service here was always good for the last 12 years or, so I have been patronizing the business. My car came in with a few issues that needed correcting, and I trusted Ford to be honest as they always have done in the past. But this particular incident involved vibration, which I attributed it to the exhaust being repaired incorrectly at another shop, but Ford stated it was from the motor mounts. I didn't believe that and had my car diagnosed at another facility and was told the exhaust was welded to the sway bar and rubbing which was causing the vibration. The other shop also inspected the motor mounts since Ford was not definitive on which motor mount was causing the issues and discovered the motor mounts were not bad and replacement was not needed. I caution anyone getting service without a second opinion because services are costly and you would hate to pay for an unnecessary repair because the shop just wanted the money. read more

Where do I begin, I decided to go the dealership this morning just to test drive the mach e or so I thought so lol soon as I arrived I was greeted by Brandyn and he was more than happy to assist me. He went into the office to get the keys to allow me to begin the test drive, he was so knowledgeable and patient. He went over all the features and functions for the vehicle and allowed me to experience all driving capabilities. Upon returning to the dealership he showed me the truck area the charging port and under the hood, at this point I was sold and made my mind up I was getting a new car. The paperwork process did not take long as all and they actually work with you. After getting arrived and finalizing paper Brandyn even made sure the vehicle was charged. He went above and beyond my expectations and I really appreciate that. This family owned dealership really makes you feel comfortable and are not just looking to take your money. I bought a 2019 mustang gt/cs from Manteca Ford on 9/11/2023 .The car came with wheel locks on all 4 wheels and no wheel lock key.I immediately contacted salesman Eric Jolli but he just gave me the run around.Took time off work to go into the dealership and talked to a manager named Phil. He told me that the wheel locks would be there in about 10 days or so. I'm still waiting for lug nuts and the wheel lock key. I feel like as soon as I bought the car they wanted nothing else to do with me so I'm writing this review to warn future customers about Manteca Fords poor service after purchase. I hope someone reads this and it helps them to make a better decision than I did. I thought I was going to be treated fairly after purchasing a $46,000 car but i was wrong . I had to bust the locks off myself now I still need 4 lugnuts/ wheel locks and the key. read more

Ok so we all know buying a car can be a nightmare, especially when buying used. We went to Manteca Ford Wednesday evening and met Steve Milligan. We told him what we wanted and how much we could afford. With his help we found exactly what we wanted. He went above and beyond to help us, never once getting frustrated or annoyed. We never felt pressured and he never made us feel bad for our less than perfect credit. Our Mariner is awesome and our experience with Manteca Ford was great. I went in to look at cars at 545 pm and drove off with my new car at 815 pm. That includes two different test drives to my house to show my family the car. I felt so bad they closed at 7 on Sunday but they made me feel welcome and didn't rush me. Bill and Eric were super helpful and took care of me. Got a mailer with a scratcher section. Win a car win another prize etc. I scratched and my "numbers" matched the numbers next to ipad and iphone 4s. I am always skeptical, but I was drawn in. When I got there I was told that my reservation numbers had to match. That the scratcher numbers don't mean anything. So they of course check and it doesn't match that prize,but I do get a dollar scratcher. Its bs, it's a scam. I really feel they just didn't want to give out the prizes.
