This place is a gem. I was living in Atlanta and an ex-boyfriend took me there over 15 years ago when they were across from Piedmont Park (I believe that's the park). I immediately was obsessed. They ended up moving to Cheshire Bridge. I now live in Charlotte and have commuted multiple times anytime I'm in Atlanta seeing friends to get THIS sandwich. I personally love the tuna sub. I know, I know but trust me it's incredible. My husband always gets the cheesesteak and he said it's better than anything around. The gentleman that runs it is so hard-working. Don't let the outside, or inside appearance for you. This is IT!!!

Philly Cheesesteak Place is a no-frills, counter eatery celebrating the sandwich (specializing in hoagies, cheesesteaks, and burgers). The eatery is located in Morningside's Cheshire Pointe Shopping Center, located at the intersection of Cheshire Bridge and Faulkner Roads and MARTA-accessible via the 27 bus. During a recent DoorDash, my husband was craving a cheesesteak and we had been meaning to give the neighborhood eatery a try. He ordered the regular Cheese Chicken Cheesesteak, with chicken, grilled onions, and cheese. I ordered a small Meatball Parmesan Sandwich with meatballs, pizza sauce, provolone, and parmesan cheese and add-ins of of pepperonis and sweet peppers. Both sandwiches were super craveable, had ample amounts of proteins and cheese, and were well seasoned. I was really curious about other menu items, so I visited the eatery a week later to order a cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and fries. I knew the cheeseburger would be tasty once I saw the owner/cook chopping up ribeye on a flat-top in a eatery whose minimalist decor took a page from a prior decade. The food os cooked to order and the owner wears all of the hats (cashier, cook, expeditor), so prepare to wait (it's worth it)! There is seating available; however, the restaurant does way more to-go orders. After eating one of the better cheeseburgers I have had in Atlanta, I brought the chicken tenders home to my husband, who had just received a food delivery. After having one bite, my husband abandoned his original meal and devoured the chicken tenders. The fries were well seasoned, but I will ask the owner to make them crispier on my next visit.

So I have seen this place before, years ago, but I've never stopped there until I do. It's a decent size shop, there are a couple of seats on the outside, but they have a lot of inside seating as well. The time when I went it was only one person there so it took a while so I can't put a nice him for my food taken that long because he was running a shot by himself. But he was still nice and friendly even though he was working solo here The environment isn't really flashy or anything like that. It's more a diner setup than actual restaurant but again, there's plenty of sitting either way it goes. I ended up getting to work. I mean I want to actually try the food that they're known for, which is a regular cheesesteak, but I guess I'm still an adventurous. So on my review I will put both of them and my opinion. The works was pretty good. It was a little bit dryer than I would have liked, but it wasnt bad. The flavor was different with the works, because of the cheese in the cheesesteak and the pizza sauce.... so this is why next time I would need to do the regular cheesesteak to see how that hits. But it will still be worth me giving it another shot!

We came to the Philly Cheesesteak place on a Friday for lunch and it was not super busy and it looks kinda dumpy, but sometimes these can be the best places. I got the chicken Philly and it was not a disappointment. I also got the combo with fries and they were very good and the grease didn't taste old. The guy serving us seemed to be authentic and he was a little brash but I think he is just to the point no BS. The one thing I saw is the plain Philly cheesesteak meat seemed to be a "steakums" type of meat and not fresh. I think that is the only downside to this establishment. The cost was about on par with anything in Atlanta @36$ for two meals. I would recommend trying if you are in the area.

Not a bad place for a quick bite to eat. This place is definitely a small business. I got the original Philly cheesesteak. Overall, it was a pretty good sandwich. The meal comes with fries and a drink. The price was about $17, which was a bit expensive in my opinion. Service was quick and owner seemed friendly. I would come again for a quick Philly cheesesteak, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.

We ordered a fish combo $5.59 + $3.50 to add a fountain drink and fries. Couldnt get a bottled drink instead. If we would have it would have been a extra $1. My husband paid $4.69 for a small BLT. He was charged initial 6.69 for a large with out being asked what his choice was. Honestly, I didn't particularly care for the customer service. I do like that you can see them cooking your food. My husbands BLT only had one layer of bacon. I dont feel it's worth the money on that big sub. He only had 2 pieces of bacon. Update, on this. The food was not worth our time. We wont be going back here

I had seen this place pop up on my maps before, but was hesitant to try for some reason. Pulled the trigger with some neighbors and we are all hooked!!! I regret not trying earlier! The way the meat cheese and onions are cooked together lead to a melt in your mouth perfection experience. Better bread than woodys in my opinion. Cheap prices, quickly made, yummy food, what more could you want?

I was charged for coke and fries but they did not give them to the door dash driver

When I walked in... the young lady at the counter was on the phone having a personal conversation. I sat there until she thought it was a good time in her conversation to take my order. I ordered my same ol beef cheesesteak with provolone cheese, onions and ketchup. I was told 15mins, then she picked up her phone and continued her conversation. I decided to wait in the car because the music in there was extremely loud and I couldn't hear my phone call nor myself think. After 15mins... I went back inside and was told a few more mins, which turned into me waiting a total of 30mins for my sandwich. I was tempted to ask for my money back, but I was hungry and had my tastebuds set to eat this sandwich. Fast forward to me getting home. My cheesesteak was lukewarm. I didn't make any stops and it usually is still piping HAWT when I get back home. Not this time. I swear I should've known something was up just by my initial experience in the restaurant. Anyways.... My sandwich was smelling a lil spicy... I see a hot red pepper in the wrapping and thought they just wrapped it in my sandwich by mistake. Um NO! There were hot red peppers throughout my sandwich. It was as if they realized the peppers did not belong on the sandwich and tried to take them out, but a whole lot of them were left in there. Instead of making a whole different sandwich and having the young lady tell me there was a mistake with my order, they gave it to me as if it was what I ordered. I wouldn't have minded if I liked spicy food, but I don't. I actually despise it and have heartburn from the sandwich! The sandwich was extremely spicy, then it was like extra pepper was added onto it as well. Then the amount of meat that used to come in the sandwich is not the same either. It was only a small portion of meat on it. As much as I would love to go back to Riley's.... I probably won't.

Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Hearty and delicious sandwiches and wraps. Perfectly seasoned…read more Wish there were fries as an option for sides. Lemonade is tasty but more sweet fruit than lemon flavor.

If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and go check out Hudson and Alphonse Deli…read more I had to come on here and give a major shoutout to Sammy, the cook and founder. From the moment I called in, his customer service was top tier. Professional, warm, and intentional. He made sure my order was right, sent a quick payment link so things moved efficiently, and had everything ready by the time I arrived. That's how you run a business. When I pulled up, he greeted me with a smile, brought my food out, and confidently told me I was going to enjoy it and he was absolutely right. I originally planned to grab my food and go, but his energy made me slow down, sit, pray, and actually enjoy the moment. I asked for a lime Jarritos, and he recommended pineapple instead to pair with the jerk seasoned wild caught salmon sandwich. That recommendation was on point and really elevated the whole experience. That sandwich hits. Every bite pops with flavor across your entire palate. The salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy but not soggy. The kale had the right crunch. The onions tied everything together. And that homemade garlic butter on the salmon took it to another level. It's a creative spin on a traditional cheesesteak. I'm sure the beef options are great too, but if you want seafood, this is the move. I've had a Philly cheesesteak in Philly before, and honestly, I don't need to go back. When I'm in Atlanta, I'm coming here. Sammy, thank you for the hospitality and the intentionality behind what you do. You didn't just serve food, you created an experience. Thank you for praying with me. I will definitely be back.
