Born and raised in Philly and these are the BEST cheesesteaks one could get other than being in Philly. Love this place!!!

I was going to the Perspire in the same strip mall and happened to look up and see this place. I was hungry so I decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. It was actually one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I've had in a long time. Just cheese and meat and it was great. Tastes very authentic and it was a good size sandwich for $12.99. Food is always on point here. I get the same thing every time -- pepperoni cheesesteak with grilled onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers Service was quick, portions were good, place was clean. The owner (I presume) happened to be there and she made sure to greet the customers and ask how everything was. That small gesture is very appreciated as she seemed genuinely interested and not just asking to be polite. She even thanked me as I exited. I have been coming to this restaurant for over a decade, in the last five years I've been frequenting it at least every two months. The food is always fantastic! Recently it has gotten new ownership and I have to say the quality of the food has gotten even better and the service is amazing! The owner seem like such a genuinely good person and you can tell she really puts her all into the store being clean, the products being good quality and the staff and customers being well taken care of! My six year old always loves when we get to go to Phillys Best and he looks forward to it even more now that Gabriella is there! Don't forget a quarter for the gumball machine! ;) read more

The food is okay, not even close to a real Philadelphia Cheesesteak, but it works. Boars Head is the lowest quality of meat. I don't know why people advertise it so proudly. The sandwiches are small, best to add other ingredients. The service is okay, but when I asked for lettuce to be added to my sandwich they charged me a $1! For lettuce. Why not adjust your prices to accommodate the extra or standard ingredients. $17 for one sandwich is steep! The ambiance is cool. You can tell the owners are penny pitching when the pickle bar is more of condiment section. If the sandwiches were $10 or less, I would come back often. read more

This is my third time ordering here, and unfortunately, the experience has been the same each time. The two women who work there are not friendly at all. I always make an effort to say hello and be polite, but I'm met with no response just blank stares or being ignored. Stopped by Sunday afternoon to grab a quick bite, won't be returning ever again. Place was completely empty of customers and when I entered no one was working the counter, after a few minutes a young man walked up without any greeting and looked a little under the weather. Ordered my food, and at $14 for only a cheese steak it wasn't a great value. After ordering, a cook began grilling some beef, and the counter worker turned to go put gloves on, which was concerning because he was actively coughing, then as soon as he had the gloves on took off his hat and ran his hands through his hair and then began to prepare the bread. I tried to ignore the poor food handling practices, the pair completed the sandwich then the young man wrapped and bagged it and again without saying anything just lifted it up towards me and handed me the bag. Whatever, if anything I blame the lack of management/training. The worst part was that the bread was stale and hardly worth the effort to eat it. Not only is their food amazing, and will have you coming back over and over again, but I have to tell you how awesome these guys are at this location. It all started off that I ordered a cheesesteak through Door Dash, and after a while my food came, but not what I ordered. I let DoorDash know and asked that my food would be redelivered. After a while my Dasher sent me a text and let me know that they gave me two cheesesteaks instead of one. Even when I told them I only ordered one, they said the second one was for my troubles. When I opened my bag, my cheesesteak wrapper had the word "Sorry" written on it. How cool. You guys have my business for life! Not only did you make things right, you went above and beyond. Found this place on Yelp and it did not disappoint! Authentic Philly decor and history on the walls. Place was nice and clean, friendly counter staff. We ordered snd our meal was ready in minutes. I got the cheesesteak wiz wit (cheese and onions) but I also added bacon and I don't know the Philly way to add bacon. Onion rings were tasty. Overall great experience! read more

I'm not happy that I am making this review. I have been. Happy customer of this Philly's Best since it opened. My family and I eat here at least once month. This location has buy 10 sandwiches get 1 free punch card. Every time I come in I never have my old card so I get a new one and over time they have pulled up on my desk. Today I saw them all and decided I would grab lunch at Philly's and take all these cars and them combined and get a free sandwich. So I brought 5 cards in that had any where from 4 to 8 punches on them. I ordered a sandwich drink and fry's, then I gave them the punch cards to combine them and get a free sandwich. I was told no, I would have to purchase the sandwich and other items and they would punch one the cards and they would not combine them. I was shocked I had purchased easily 30 sandwiches plus other items in the past. I ended up canceling my order and left. Everyone in the store is new and have been the same faces for the last several months , which makes me think it is under new management/ owners. I'm sad to say I was very disappointed that they refused to honor their program, and I will not be giving this store any further business. read more

But unless you have an extreme aversion to dairy, you absolutely must get it with CHEESE WHIZ! Oh yes. No cheesesteak is complete without a healthy drizzle of that liquid golden crack in a can. It seriously elevates the sandwich to another level compared to regular cheese and is the most authentic way to experience a Philly cheesesteak. Putting my love for canned cheese to the side for a second, I think the thing that really separates Philly's Best from the competition is the bread. You can get steak anywhere, but not many places have the delightfully chewy and delicious Amoroso rolls that they use which are actually delivered fresh from Philadelphia twice a week! You can't get much more authentic than that. Forget that other sandwich shop in this plaza that actually does zero cooking and is far from fresh, and head on over to Philly's Best. I love philly cheesesteaks and I was in the area working with my Dad. I looked up some food locations and saw this place pop up so I decided to come here for my lunch. Their menu offers different varieties of cheesesteak sandwiches like Pepperoni Cheese Steak. I decided to go with the classic Cheese Steak though. The guy working there brought out some fresh steak and cheese. Beautiful color on the meat. (Fresh cuts are just awesome.) Anyway, a few minutes later my sandwich was ready. He handed it to me and as I was getting ready to leave I checked in on Yelp and got a free side of fries. I waited a few more minutes as they made the fries. The sandwich was really good. I usually get philly cheesesteaks from Boo's in Koreatown in LA but those are super greasy. They're good but your hands get doused in grease the second you grab the sandwich. This sandwich wasn't greasy at all. The steak was good. The cheese was good. The onions were good. The bread they use is plain white bread with a bit of seasoning on one side. It's a tad sweet, but the sandwich is great. I will definitely be back here again. Great price for a great sandwich. AND THEY SELL MEXICAN COKE. Awesome job there guys! Let me start by saying I've had cheesesteaks in Philly (G&Ps), Baltimore (Spartans), Las Vegas (Pops) and now California. Let me tell ya somthin right here...this place...blew my socks off. Me and the wife were on Vacation in Laguna with our son, who unfortunately has Autism, so eating out and dining in is rather difficult for us. The customer service: The guys in this place are top notch. Greeted, thanked me for my buisness and even asked if I needed extras and what not, not upselling. Tip topnotch. The food: Man, I'll tell ya. This cheesesteak blew our socks off. Very good & authentic Philly Chicken Cheese Steak sandwiches! Just make SURE that you are very clear with the person taking your order as there's definitely a language barrier with most of the staff & I don't speak fluent Spanish-My Bad.. If You like grilled onions, ask for EXTRA, EXTRA & it makes a big difference in the overall enjoyment for sure & ask to have the bun heated. The ding on stars is because they have changed their pickle and pepper supplier and are running pepper Cheaneys instead of the other red and green peppers ...als pickles are also different . The bread on the Philly's best was so soggy.. vegetables undercooked and just awful . The french fries had no salt on them and were completely soggy and undercooked . First time to a Philly's Best. Ive been to Charley's and great steak escape, but this is a different level. They make an effort to keep it authentic with bread and dessert imported from Philly, but put their own spin on it with things like Philly cheesesteak fries. Think carne asada fries but cheesesteaks! The cook is also from Philly I went with a few friends and we got a little bit of everything and everything was damn good. The owner gave a few recommendations that were spot on too: 1. The dill pickles (free at the pickle bar) 2. Add marinara sauce to pepperoni cheesesteak. So good. Onion rings are usually a splurge over fries, but I would recommend the fries over the rings.
