I love Philz and always come, but this location always strikes me the wrong way. The customer service is literal garbage. I always feel obligated to tip having worked in a cafe, however immediately regret it when I come here. Whoever the girl who made our drinks was, deserves to be strongly considered for termination. She was rude, and when I asked about our drinks she answered in a very short and bitchy tone, and continued to giggle with her coworker. She called out our name and we were met with two unlabeled cups with no lids side by side no clue as to which was which. I had politely asked her which drink was which and she responded crassly that I should know the mocha is mocha because it was brown, even though my cold brew was also brown in color???? We were one of THREE customers in the store so there was no trouble with regards to being busy. The lack of empathy by her was extremely telling of her own character, or lack there of, however in my opinion does not accurately represent the character of Philz as a whole. She was working on the far left side in front of the ice machine. Hopefully her day improves, and she won't make others uncomfortable with her demeanor, or appearance. Dark hair and eyes, short stature, low voice. Do better with the quality of your employees. read more

Great coffee blends. I'm a little less enamored now because their menu has not changed in 5 years - same blends etc and pricey for a cup of coffee. Still rigid in terms of how you have to order and not being able to put in your own milk (you have to instruct the barista how much to put in which seems unnecessarily pretentious for what is a commonplace chain now). However, I do like their blends and like the dog friendly patio for this location, and service is friendly here. read more

I absolutely love Philz! Their prices are reasonable and I love the fact that they customize your drink exactly to your liking! I usually get the iced ecstatic, extra sweet and creamy, and it is my absolute favorite! The baristas and service is always great and everyone is friendly! The only problem I've ever had was that I think they forgot to add the sugar/sweetener to my coffee because I had driven off and everyone I was with realized that all of our drinks weren't sweet. But this has only happened once and usually if something is wrong with your drink, the baristas are always happy to fix it to your liking, with no hesitation! This is definitely one of my favorite go-to places for coffee! read more

Wowzers! As an out of towner .... I am like when the heck can we get one of these in Denver, Colorado? Like seriously tho! I am obsessed with the Julies Ultimate...each time I've gotten a different barista but each time they have made it the same delicious way that I asked them too, frothy with all of the goodness. Truthfully, I think I'm done with this spot. Kinda had a crappy am here. - the layout is terrible. Had just a swarm of people who've already ordered coffee just waiting to pay. - 3 people making breakfast sandwiches - 4 people making coffee - no one collecting money while several people mutter to themselves about how terrible this line is. - when a woman with a stroller was past the register but they called for her to get something at the food counter, she waved to them but they didn't bring her the food. Instead, they made her navigate through the crowd. -I finally paid and was waiting. Because it took so long, I didn't realize my coffee had been made. I saw it sitting there but wasn't sure. Of course, the barista waited on a couple people and didn't call out the drink in front of them getting cold. I eventually asked and that was it getting cold. Didn't appreciate the fail to just call it out a second time. Considering the coffee's significantly more expensive than Starbucks but just tastes slightly better, what exactly are we paying for? read more

MIKE is the reason i'm giving this place 5 stars. i hope the managers see this and recognize what great customer service Mike displays. I have come other times and the workers are alright but Mike went above and beyond. so helpful when i ordered the wrong drink and he fixed it and was so kind about the whole process. If you're trying to figure out if this is better than Blue Bottle, Peet's, Starbucks, Coffee Bean, Noah's & bulletproof coffee; the answer is HECK YEAH!!! The coffee is made for the individual & it's a little bit of a wait but, Lawd Have Mercy...it's worth it! Also, picked up the avocado toast here and it was amazing...my toddler ended up eating the majority if it which is always a good sign of great food! They also have an awesome selection of decaf options for all my preggo friends. The ambiance of this place is presh! I love Philz. Nit sure why everyone says the line is confusing, there is a sign when you walk in directing you where to go. You order directly with the barista then head over to pay. I always get the iced gingersnap. It's creamy, lightly sweet, with lots of spices. I have trued their hot vkends and all are pretty good. I tend to go for cold coffee though. We live in Torrance and always go out of our way on weekends to pick up some coffee. Parking can be a bummer though. Very busy small lot with several businesses sharing the parking. read more

I always feel a tiny bit intimidated going in and ordering, it mildly had a pretentious vibe, but with coffee that good I get passed it. The one star is not for the coffee but for the lack of customer service. Completely understand that we're in a very sensitive time right now but to be given bad attitude, no thanks. I have visited this location many times and sometimes the service is average, sometimes terrible. I don't know why the employees have such pretentious attitude, particularly at this store. Anyway, long story short, my visit last Saturday just may have been my final visit. I mobile ordered my usual order and waited nearly 25 minutes for my coffee. Mobile order said 15 minutes but that was not what ticked me off. What made me upset was the horrendous attitude I received from the woman who was handing out the orders. After waiting 20 minutes for my order, I went to the waiting area to check if my order had come out yet. I was alone in the waiting area and this woman appears behind the counter and shouts "what's the name for the order?!" I told her my name while maintaining my distance. I guess she didn't hear me so she says "what? I can't hear you." I come a little closer, still trying to maintain my distance, as I'm walking towards her she backs away with a weird look on her face. I tell her my name, wait another 5 minutes, she almost slams my coffee on the counter and says "thank you" in that pretentious tone of hers. Geez. The iced coffee had no ice because it melted. I guess it was out in 15 minutes but she just gave it to me 10 minutes later. Will not be returning. No thanks to your lack of decency to be polite to your patrons. read more

This place has pretty decent coffee, it's not the best I've ever tasted but it's pretty good. They have a seating area outside but there arent THAT many seating options. If you come during a time when there isnt a lot of people then great you'll be good but if not you'll probably just want to take it to go. Same goes for parking, this lot can get super busy so beware. I would definitely try this place out if you never have. read more

I used to go to Philz all the time in Santa Monica when I worked across the street and I totally miss it! I happened to be in the area at this location today and it was just like I remember. The friendly barista even told me about a secret menu item called the Soul Train and it was delicious!! Cinnamon in the filter, hazelnut and the filtered whipped with almond milk. I was too chilly to get the mint mojito but that's another fave. They also have GF treats which is a huge plus for me if I need something to eat. Regular coffee places just have so many delicious gluten filled items that I can't eat it since I'm allergic to wheat so it a real treat coming to Philz!! read more

First I want to say I LOVE the coffee here. I mean it's the stuff I look forward to getring. I don't live particularly close so when I make plans to go out of my way I really look forward to it. So now to today I placed an order for two coffees and the app stated it would be ready in 10 minutes. I get there take my time and get donughts next door. Check in the get coffee and told not done yet? Ok. No biggie. Check app now stated won't be done til 10:40am!!! What 30 additional minutes. Wtf. And I indeed had to wait an extra 30 minutes. I had other plans based on the original time give and I was not able keep them afterwards. This app needs to be fixed update or something?! Also if there is a 40 minute wait there should be more than one person working to make the coffees! Super super disappointed. Cause like I said I go out of my way to go there and serve myself a treat. Now it just feels tainted. read more

Will be boycotting this location based on BDS (boycott and divestment sanctions - israel and the occupied territories) for Israel's numerous human rights violations and noncompliance with international law. read more

I just want to start off by saying THANK YOU! I was a huge fan of Philz when I was living in D.C. and so glad that it's now in the South Bay near me. I have visited multiple times and I am continuously impressed with the marvelous service that I receive. The last time I went, I ordered an Iced Tesora and a Hummus Toast. Lord, my mouth watered just looking at it and the taste was more than expected. I'm trying to lose my freshmen 15, but when I treat myself , I go for a maple scone, and it's so orgasmic. Not for the impatient. Coffee is very excellent but expect a long wait. Not a place for quick and go, and not for cappuccino or other espresso drinks but personal pour-over coffee with 20 different varieties is what you need to get. The place is smaller than Santa Monica store with three barista stations. For me the line took 15 min to move and another 8 min to receive coffee after I paid. It was in the morning around 9:30 am so understandable - but if you know what you want, order a pick up on app. Outside has about 10 tables of various sizes to sit but they are hard to find. read more

The staff is really nice however Philz coffee has implemented a very flawed system. You have to wait in two lines. One to order then another to pay. The avocado toast was good but it was more like avocado bread considering they very lightly "toast" the bread and it's still soft and gets squishy after applying the toppings. read more
