Love the atmosphere on a Sunday night. It's around 7 and there a few students hitting the books. They have free WiFi and their connectivity is strong around this hour. I never been here before yet the service is excellent and the barista knew what to suggest for myself and my kids. By the way, I'm was happy to know that they offered a few drinks for my kids who suffer from many food allergies. The really tall guy with the backwards hat making the coffees had a serious attitude problem. I asked for my coffee really sweet and with a lot of creamer, when I received it, it tasted black, so I asked him if he would pour some out and add more creamer, in which he replies "I already added a lot but ok" and then proceeds to give me and my girlfriend a dirty look. This is my usual go-to coffee shop when I'm in the area because I absolutely love this place however I am quite disappointed with my experience this morning. For starters no one asked me to confirm my order which made me skeptical because anyone can just walk in and grab a random order. Secondly, I ordered a Mint Mojito which tasted like water. I was running late for work so I wasn't able to go in and ask for an exchange which makes me really sad. Philz is great but they really need more consistency in their signature drinks. We were waiting for our breakfast table, but Mama needs to be holding a coffee. :) The cashier was very friendly, and recommended a few drinks when I asked what the favorites were. I think that I got the class Philz speciality coffee with their recommended sweetening levels. It was very delicious. The bonus was that the kiddo saw some dog treats and I suggested giving one to our fur baby. We asked the cashier for some, and he gave us a generous helping. Went in for the first time with a gf and she recommended I got the "ecstatic" iced coffee. On the menu board it says it tastes like nuts, toffee, and toast. Idk about all that, but I will say I LOVED it. Like obsessed. My friend told me to ask for it "sweet and creamy" so I did. It's interesting because you go in, you wait in line(which kind of took forever) but its because you actually have to go up to the barista and give them your order and they make it then and there to how you want it. After you out the order in, you don't pay for it right away, youre free to wander or sit and wait. Then they call your order up, they make sure you like it, and then you can go pay to the cashier on the other side of the place. Very casual form of paying. I also wanted food, so on the way to the cashier I let him know I wanted an avocado toast. I was kind of scared to see how much it would be because it seems like avocado toasts everywhere are $10+ but this one wasn't so bad! it was about $6 and some cents which I could live with. So then I paid for both my small iced Ecstatic coffee and my toast. it all came to $10 and some cents which wasn't bad! So the toast was decently toasted and had slices of egg on top with I want to say sesame seeds. I liked it a lot! I am DEFINITELY coming back, I'm now going to find my own around my house and take all my friends :) So definitely check it out! read more
