Wow, this Philz outpost in Noe Valley is like the spiritual opposite of the original cafe in the Mission. They're both on 24th Street but at opposite ends of the social spectrum as far as I can tell. This one more likely draws young mothers attached to their baby strollers, not slightly tarnished hipsters lost in their smartphones. Since I don't fit into either demo, I feel compatible in both stores, probably because I order the same thing regardless, the $4 Large Silken Splendor light light. We were staying at a walking distance away from this shop so it is always our regular visit when coming into town. The outside is nondescript and very unassuming. Inside the coffee is great and always made right. You can order the coffee either creamy or sweet or a range in-between. The service is good and if you don't like your coffee the way it is then you can always get more cream or sugar in it. B read more

I enjoyed the hot drink drink. I enjoyed the music. I enjoyed conversation with my friend. This Philz was less busy went I went here than the Philz I usually go to in the Mission aka the original Philz on the 24th yet glad we had no problem getting seating here. My neighborhood Philz! When I first moved to Noe Valley my roommates and I made it a habit of picking up drinks for each other almost every week from here. Though our visits have become less frequent, our love for Philz remains. Service: 5/5 The baristas here are so nice! I always get greeted with a smile and as usual, they tell you to try your drink and ask for any modifications before you leave with it! Coffee and Food: 4.5/5 Not quite 5 because my order (Iced Mint Mojito, sweet and creamy) is inconsistent depending on who makes it, but close to 5 because it's usually still delicious. I've also had the Rosé which is good as well. Ambiance: 5/5 Lots of seating and a large table for folks if they want to sit and chat or do work on their laptops. Nice space away from the bustle of Noe Valley. Parking is tight, but it's away from the main Noe Valley strip so it's not that bad. Also Philz has ample indoor seating, and an outdoor space that would be inviting on a warm day. The staff is friendly, competent, and they do a great job taking care of their customers. Philz has great Coffee, but what made it home today were some of their cookies. I picked up some of their Chocolate Cookies covered in Peppermint Sprinkled, it had a taste of Christmas, had one of them oh so yummy. They have a nice selection of snacks and craft great beverages, plus the outdoor seating makes this location very human / dog friendly on a nice day. I haven't been to Philz Coffee in a VERY long time!!! Almost a year now, I think. I'm pretty sure every Philz Coffee spot, everyone makes their hot mint mojito differently. I was going to rate this place a 3 star because I think my drink was made ALRIGHT. I don't think it was made properly cause it tasted like regular coffee to me with extra cream. I wasn't blown away like the times I had my hot mint mojito coffees in San Mateo, CA. OR MAYBE I ORDERED IT WRONG?! Lol. Ordering a simple hot mint mojito with every thing on it shouldn't be too hard to make, right? I decided to rate this spot a 4 star because of the person who took my order (today 10/15/22 at around 1245-1PM). He/She/They complimented me on my nails LOL. Even before that compliment, they was very nice and friendly. I didn't ask his/her/their name but I appreciate their smile and a small convo :) I will have to give this spot another try. I was too shy to ask if they could make my drink again. Also, I didn't want to waste coffee. It did the job tho! Philz is a San Francisco classic coffee spot serving out high charged beverages with a kick. The ambiance is giving old school coffee shoppe vibes with tables, chairs, & some other lounging options. I ordered my two year old daughter a kids almond milk hot chocolate that was the perfect temperature & she really loved it. For myself, I ordered a hot mint mojito with cinnamon & my partner ordered a hot gingersnap both with almond milk. They were super yummy & boy does that caffeine come in strong! Even better that there's a park a block away for us to burn off some of this energy. This is a must try for anyone in SF & especially this location. read more

It's actually insane how good this coffee is, better than Saint Frank's or anywhere else for that matter

I found out the Summer Crush drink (made from the Better Days Cold Brew) which has hints of orange (or some fruit), cardamon and brown sugar + mint is only available at 3 locations: Noe Valley (here), Dogpatch, and Ocean Ave. It's SO refreshing!! I hope they eventually expand this drink to be permanent at all locations. Great service and welcoming staff. Location looks more homey and is in a residential area. Always have a good experience here when I get my morning coffee. Like with all Philz locations, make sure to order in advance with the app. You will save so much time. :) read more

My favorite coffee! Definitely a Philz girl. Born and raised in SF. I'm seven months pregnant so at the moment I can only have decaf. Ordered some for my husband and I through Uber Eats. I like Philz Coffee and will continue to drink the coffee. I have typically gone to the original Philz (RIP) in the Mission ever since its inauguration 15 years ago or so. For this Philz, to the guy working the cash register at 11:15 AM today, Sunday, November 5th, 2023, it's polite and the right thing to do (think basic etiquette) that when a customer tips and says, 'thanks' upon picking up his sandwich for you to acknowledge his/her' thanks' in some shape or form preferably with another 'thanks' or a 'you're welcome.' Don't ignore your customers. It is free to be nice and tips are not mandatory even in San Francisco. Good day! read more

Prior to moving to SF I was bombarded with "YOU HAVE TO TRY THE MINT MOJITO AT PHILZ IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE" I'm not someone to buy into theatrics so I had to go try it for myself to see if it really did CHANGE MY LIFE. Definitely didn't change my life BUT it ranks pretty high on my favorite coffees. It is unlike any flavor of coffee I've ever tasted. It's so refreshing for coffee it's more like sipping on a light ice tea vs an iced coffee. It was a little watery at first because of the ice on top but it gets better and better with every sip and is the perfect amount of sweetness if you're more into sweet and creamy coffees. The Noe valley location is very nice. Very family friendly and has an average noise level with a lot of natural light. There are outlets and free WiFi with a good amount of seating making it a perfect place to get work done. At this location you first order your drink with the barista and then order food/ pay at the register. The have signs everywhere to do that but as it was my first time I ignored all the signs but the baristas were nice enough to show me the Philz way. read more

Why I come here for my java jolt! Perks +'s: + Mobile app. It's so easy to use. Better than standing in line especially during the pandemic. + Timely. I reserved a 10:30 am pick up and it was maybe 5' late because it was the first day Philz re-opened its location after the shelter-in-place order that began 3/16/2020. + Orderly. Everyone kept their 6 ft distance and I liked that the shop refused cash and only accepted mobile or card payments. + Pastries available. Good thing they are supporting baked goods. Philz is one of the best coffee shops, they have plenty of high quality blends available and a nice relaxed vibe. They also have some unique coffee drinks/creations. My favorite hot coffee choice is the Philtered Soul which has a hazelnut flavor with a hint of chocolate and is sweetened with brown sugar. Of the iced coffee options, the Summer Crush is delicious and a must-try. They also have a nice, but limited, selection of pastries/sweet breads. The seating inside is a limited (probably due to Covid), but they also have seating outdoors and a parklet with tables that seat four. Love Philz! read more

I was visiting the bay area and decided to get coffee for my friends. After making the journey here along the hills of this part of San Fransisco I came here. The line was pretty long so i was excited to get some of this coffee which I figured would be amazing. I wasn't greeted very nicely. Im not sure if the morning busyness overwhelmed the girl at the counter or what the issue was. I then asked some assistance to what was good or what she recommends. After my drink order was complete everything came out the biggest cup size they had which I know i didn't ask for. A female staff( I forgot her name:( that helped us went out of her way to make sure that I was happy with my drink and that I got what I wanted. I merely said uhh...too sweet? You need coffee? They make it pretty good here. They also have a few breakfast items in the bakery case. Pick a barista and s/he will help you out! The register is by the door, so to get in line, you need to walk down to the end of the shop. This location has tables and seating if you want to get some work done. There is also a restroom in the back. Parking is limited to free street spots. They don't have a parking lot, so I see a lot of people walk or bike here. read more

I just want to say that it's a one star not because of the coffee but because of the service. My fellow Police Officer went into the Philz Coffee shop and was refused service. I understand that people have their beliefs and as Police Officers we support everyone but I guess Police Officers can't be supported to care and watch over their community. But being told "we won't serve you" is just sad especially after working 14 days straight with no days off and not by choice. But don't worry we will still come to your service whenever you call. My fellow Officers and I will not be coming back. I'm very disappointed and sadden by this incident. read more

I love this Philz location. It is located right in front of the 48 bus line that gets me home in an instant! I've been here about four times now and each time has been great. There was one time I came here to study for my horrid organic chemistry exam and the guy who helped me was so helpful. I didn't want the typical mint mojito like I usually get, so he offered to ice any of their blends and make it almost like the mint mojito with that milk and creamy flavor. He recommended the Dancing Waters that was a medium-light roast and had a chocolatey flavor. Perfect! I liked this better than when I had a Mocha Tesora at another Philz location because I ended up with SO much chocolate at the bottom of my cup and made it so gross at the end. It really hit the spot. So usually, their mint mojitos are always great here. I've had a croissant and a bagel with cream cheese here. Eh, focus on their unique blends of coffee! They have all types of roast from dark to light. Very cool how they have so many options to suit your coffee mood for the day. Small place, but every time I've always managed to find a seat or table.
