I want to extend a very big thank you to Philz for being open on Thanksgiving Day! When I called and found out they would be, I was soooo grateful. Not me teeing my own self up to say just how delish their Gratitude blend is, but it is! and now's the time to go grab a bag :) or order endless Winter Bliss drinks which are made from it. Philz totally saved the day for this coffee obsessed human. I wasn't sure how I was supposed to go out and dominate my local drumstick dash on Thanksgiving Day morning without a good cup of joe. I love Philz! I often toss them into my coffee/caffeine consumption rotation. Lately, I've been over the moon for the Winter Bliss. It's soooo good but I also enjoy their regular coffee drinks as well - Tesora's, Silken Splendor's, a mix of the two, Iced Mint Mojitos, Philz Iced Tea's. You really can't go wrong here whatever your taste and style in coffee is. I typically order on the app, but also order in store from time to time when I'm walking by and just decide I'm in the mood for them. Service is very good with the app. My drinks are always waiting for me when I arrive. In store orders can take some time depending on what crew is on hand but not typically too bad. Love Philz. A SoCal coffee staple and I was stoked when they opened a location in Studio City. The interior is a rustic industrial vibe with lots of wood, exposed concrete, and metal. It still feels cozy, though. The staff are always super nice and I feel like the baristas genuinely love what they do. My go-to order is either an iced or hot Philtered Soul. I love their coffee here and their menu does a great job at describing all of the flavor profiles so you can pick your perfect drink. You also have the ability to control your sweetness level and type, as well as your dairy/non-dairy milk/creamer option. When they call your name, I've had the experience across many Philz locations that the baristas will ask you to taste the drink and see if it's to your liking. I love their quality control and their desire to get it perfect for you. There are valets around, but street parking is your best bet. That said, it gets really busy around this area during the day, so hopefully you get lucky and find a spot right away. I just love this branch! It is very spacious and clean. It has cheerful relaxing vibes. They have outlets to charge your computer or cell phone. Okay, the coffee is excellent with friendly staff in a very nice space. BUT... On arrival, the parking/valet crew in the back parking lot don't seem very nice or cool. For bad customer service! You have found it! Here is the best place for that! Found this location closest where I had to be and figured why not! Philz is my favorite coffee and I usually travel to get Philz but I would rather go further than this location to get a better experience. On Yelp it says they close at 5:30 on Saturdays and on google it says they close at 7 on Saturday as well. We got there at 4:55 and we were not served because according to their barista, they close at 5!!! The barista was very rude. We had explained that we came from far away specifically for Philz and he refused and basically told us to leave. there were still two people sitting there and other baristas were also still making coffee. I will never step a foot in this Philz location. The staff here definitely need some training for customer service avoid! read more

I literally came here to pick up coffee before work. I've been waiting for five minutes. There is no line. There is nothing. I'm waiting for her to take one drink order which would've took her literally a split second she could've took my order in and went on to do her own thing while I was paying with card, but no, she's making me wait while she's working on food orders, constantly Making me wait. What a weird experience here. I've been to other locations and have had a great experience but it was all strange vibes here. No complaints about my coffee or the pumpkin muffin that I had though. There is also plenty of street parking but it can get crowded over the weekend. I also did Love the functionality of the space but customer service and friendliness was lacking for me. I came into this coffee shop to get some work done. As I placed my order and checked out I noticed my receipt said Karen, which I thought was the name of the barista. As I picked up my order it also said Karen. I asked who Karen was and they insisted that's the name they heard me say. To be honest I don't even remember her asking my name. When I told another barista about this she said oh we always ask for a name and that my name Miriam sounds like Karen. WHAT?! Great experience in store and ordering. Baristas are always kind and knowledgeable, especially to friends that haven't been here. Seating is plenty indoors and out. 2 all gender bathrooms that are relatively clean. Got some studying done (highly recommend noise cancelling headphones, because I was right next to the speaker). Drink reviews: Mocha Tesora - this impressed me so much. Very clean tasting, freshly made it tasted like dates. No chalky cacao taste that you'd expect from a mocha. So pleasant and gives you a nice caffeine rush. Mint Mojito - Good mint flavor that tastes plant derived instead of with extract. Same thing with clean tasting pourover. Only thing is you may want to ask for no mint sprigs, because drinking out of the normal cap can land you a mouthful of it Rose - Solid rose flavor but not overpowering. Definitely tasted coffee. Had "the house way" - I believe that's medium creamer and sweet. It was good! Philharmonic - of every drink that's claimed hazelnut taste, this has to be the best. Especially with oatmilk, the nuttiness is very apparent. Sweet or not, this drink is solid Honey haze - while I do enjoy this, I find it to have less interesting flavor than the others. I usually don't reach for it, but I'll still order it because it's good. Typically I choose medium/sweet for sweetness level with honey, because in my mind honey makes it sweeter than anything else. Still not sure if it's all in my head. Philz makes it hard for me to go to any other place for coffee if there's a location nearby. I've even forwent my espresso tendencies for a promising pour over. Here are the three top drinks based on my opinion: Tantalizing Turkish (Darker Blend), Mint Mojito, and Mocha Tesora (Chocolate-ish for chocolate and coffee lover like me!). This was my first visit at this location and of course everything lived up to my expectation! Drinks 10/10 Mocha Tesora: this drink is everything if you like the taste of rich chocolate in your drink! It's more of a treat for me than a daily cup of coffee because of how rich it is but I love it! Mint Mojito: so refreshing and delicious! Ginger snap: it tastes very festive and reminds me of all the Christmas drinks because of the nutmeg. I'm usually not into spices but it was delicious! Ambiance 10/10 Perfect for hanging out and catching up with a friend and studying! You can also just pick up your drink to go. Grand Opening Day, Saturday, January 25, 2020 in the Land of Impossible Parking! Fortunately, they will have valet beginning Monday, which is complimentary and operating from 8am - 6pm. Philz is always a loud, happy place! One of the first things you'll notice is that the staff is culturally diverse and smiling! If you didn't know, what makes Philz different is that your coffee is truly custom-made to order. Each cup has beans ground per order and poured over per cup. If you love the Iced Mint Mojito as I do- you'll notice your barista hand twisting off mint sprigs just for you! I also adore their Iced Coffee Rosé...Rosé all day y'all! Baked goods we sampled were all tasty...avocado toast, apricot/nut bar, cinnamon mini muffin, blueberry donut... This location has great seating options with high top counter and low seating with TONS of electrical plugs for your tech needs. There are two gender-neutral restrooms with a shared sink area. I've driven by for soo long! Decided to try it out after class, parking was easy, service was great... it was explained and suggestions were made by a person that was truly genuine.
