This is a new coffee shop along Van Nuys Blvd. It was my first time going there. Honestly, I was not impressed. Ordering is mostly done on kiosks. One of the kiosks was not working and I noticed several employees were just chit chatting behind the counter instead of helping customer. After waiting several minutes, I was able to order my drink. I ordered a latte. It was not the best one I had, but it was good. It was not too sweet and I liked the taste. They offer variety of drinks, sweets. The prices are compatible with other coffee shops in the area. They have several tables and a sofa for people to sit and enjoy their drinks. Overalls it's a clean and nicely maintained place. My only complaint is lack of customer service. I will go another day to try another drink. Hopefully, customer service will be better this time around. This location has a parking lot. I was able to find a spot easily since I went early morning. Due to construction going on in the area, street parking is limited. read more

I have been coming here for a while now. It is located on a very busy plaza, with sometimes limited parking nearby. Since the construction nearby has mostly gone away, it is easier to access now. The first time I came, they had no bagels for their bagel sandwich. The worker asked if it was okay to substitute with a croissant instead and this has been my go-to order when I go for breakfast. The workers are always kind and on the most part attentive. I mostly order online for pick up and yet to be disappointed by their service. When you go in person, you may order at the counter from a cashier or at the tablets. They also have a rewards program for frequent customers and I have been able to redeem when it becomes available. The cafe is pretty cozy looking. They have a mixture of couches and regular tables and recently they added a great mural that represents the San Fernando Valley nicely. Definitely would consider studying here or meeting up with friends. San Fernando Coffee Company is great addition to this plaza and a good choice for coffee and breakfast on the run. We love San Fernando Coffee, but unfortunately this wasn't a good experience. My boyfriend and I ordered one large iced vanilla blended coffee through the screen. As soon as our order pinged through to their system the barista asked what size our drink was, and we let her know that on the screen, there was no size option, so whatever size correlates with $6.50. Then when our order came out we received a blended vanilla bean, which is not what we ordered, especially since we were craving coffee. They graciously remade it for us, but unfortunately, the flavors weren't there and we were unable to finish our drink. My wife and I have seen San Fernando Coffee pop up around the Valley, so we were pretty stoked when they opened their Van Nuys location. Off of Sherman Way & Van Nuys Blvd, San Fernando Coffee is located in a plaza that has a big shared lot with other businesses. With the current construction making driving down Van Nuys Blvd a hassle, you should enter the parking lot off of Sherman Way next to the gas station - drive to the back and it'll be at the corner on the left. By the way, there are a couple of dedicated San Fernando Coffee spaces located in front of it for pick-up orders. Inside is fairly spacious compared to other coffee places. There's counter seating on the side, a few tables near the back, and a couch with chairs in the middle. So if you want to take a load off, you'll definitely find a place to chill as you enjoy your coffee. You can order with the cashiers at the counter, but they have two kiosks on the side if they're busy. It's also more convenient if you want to look at pictures of everything they got. Speaking of the menu, it's definitely more stacked than your average coffeehouse! They have your usual pastries (Danish, croissant, muffins, bagels) but they also have crepes, burritos, quesadillas, and sandwiches. We just tried their drinks, so my better half ordered Abuelita's Strawberry Kisses (Mexican Mocha Latte) while I ordered a Mexican Mocha. We're both heavy coffee drinkers so we can hang, but this coffee had quite the delayed affect on us - hot damn is this tasty but strong! If you're in the hood and want/need a coffee fix, San Fernando Coffee will hit the spot and then some. I'm down to come back to check out more of their menu. They also have online ordering if you're in a hurry, and they have a rewards/loyalty program if you see yourself becoming a regular. read more

love this place. I think they have a lot of creative coffee drinks on the menu. I think a lot of them are pretty sugary, but you can ask for adjusted sugar levels, which is nice. They have a latte called the flaco which is a sugar-free caramel latte I believe and it was really good. I bought a concha simply because it was so cute and I wanted to take a cute photo. I feel like a lot of them that I find are usually pretty dry not only was this concha extremely soft and weirdly high quality, it was strawberry flavored. Maybe that doesn't sound like a big deal but as someone who's looking for conchas everywhere, I was so surprised at how good it was at this coffee shop. The staff are extremely friendly. The place is very clean. It's becoming a new favorite spot. I wish all the construction wasn't around because it makes it a little harder to park, but it's worth it. Five stars. read more

Today at this new Van Nuys location I ordered a medium size black cold brew with vanilla cold foam. It cost me $7.41 without tip. You order yourself on the two kiosks they have and get a number. The coffee tasted good like I said but I was very disappointed to find 85% of my cup was ice. Almost to the top. Paid over $7 for a cup of ice with a splash of coffee and some cold foam. If I had noticed it earlier I would have said something but I had left. And the traffic at that corner is horrible at the moment cause of construction. Everything is blocked. Anyways the coffee is good but next time for sure I have to say very easy ice lol. The location is good once the construction ends. I came here along with my autistic nonverbal son, my 2 sisters and my little niece. When my son gets excited he can't help but yell when he's happy or when he sees something he likes. When we enter the cafe there were no other customers at the cafe and we ordered at the kiosk. While we are there waiting for our order all of a sudden the music is louder that we can barely hear each other speaking and i could not believe that the workers put the music so loud just because they didn't want to hear my son yelling from happiness. Just tried out the new location in Van Nuys! I was immediately greeted when I entered, and the service throughout was amazing. The staff was very kind and thoughtful, asking me questions to recommend me the best options! The space was very clean, lots of seating, and I loved the murals representing the valley! i've always loved san fernando coffee co, especially the banana milk matcha, and i've had great experiences at other locations. unfortunately, my first visit to the van nuys location was really disappointing. the drink itself tasted very watered down. the banana flavor also had a bitter taste, almost like the bananas weren't ripe enough, and there was even a soapy aftertaste that made it difficult to finish. the atmosphere also wasn't welcoming. i came in around 5:20 pm, about 40 minutes before closing, and every chair and table had already been put up, so there wasn't anywhere for customers to sit. it gave the impression that the shop was already closed, even though it was still open. the customer service was honestly the biggest disappointment. the employee wasn't welcoming or friendly. i had to initiate the interaction because there wasn't even a hello. while taking my order, she came across as dismissive, almost as if she was annoyed that i ordered at the register instead of using the ipad. when she handed me my drink, she didn't say thank you or have a good day--just handed it over without saying anything. i also noticed she was wearing a shirt that said "big daddy," which didn't feel appropriate or professional for someone representing the business. spending almost $16 for a croissant and a matcha already feels expensive, but when the drink quality and customer service both fall short, it's hard to justify the price. i know this location is capable of providing a much better experience because i've had such positive visits at your other shops. i hope this location can improve because i really do enjoy the drinks. read more
