I was starving after going riding all morning, so I stopped by Pho 24. I ordered steak pho, grilled pork and shrimp with vermicelli, and fried egg rolls. The pho broth has good flavor, and the portion size is generous. And the pork and shrimp vermicelli dish is made with fresh ingredients and very tasty. There has definitely been some improvement since my visit 9-10 months ago and I am very glad that my husband and I decided to give this place a second try! My husband and I each ordered a large pho. The portions are still HUGE which we loved because we always come hungry to places when we go out to eat. They five a very generous amount of noodles. The broth is pretty good but I think it is just a tad saltier than I would like, my hubby thought it was just right though. Seating can still be a little cramped but the service has definitely improved. Pho 24 to the rescue! I caught a cold this past weekend and this spot has been my go-to takeout spot. Their pho not only tastes good but the quality of the meat is also on point. GET YOUR RECEIPT. I keep track of my expenses separately from my credit card for exact situations like this. Went in for lunch and the total bill was $54.20 INCLUDING tip AND a credit card fee they now have which I was fine with. What is the actual total that was posted to my account? $62! That's $8 more than what was charged. I hit "print" receipt and they didn't give it to me but I trusted them that they wouldn't try to snake me like this. I called them and told them my issue and they said because I didn't have my receipt they couldn't help me (but they didn't give it to me in the first place). Don't plan on returning here, but if you ever do, keep the receipt until your transaction posts to your account. SHAME ON THIS PLACE. The fresh shrimp spring rolls was far from fresh; the shrimp was rubbery as if it was imitation, I still don't know what it was. I'm so picky when it comes to pho and this place is not bad at all (comparable to east side pho). They offer regular or fresh noodles - the fresh noodles REALLY hits different and is worth the extra dollar splurge. Broth is consistent and this is one of the only pho places that has somewhat of a sriracha sauce due to the sriracha shortage. Service is great. Food usually comes out within 10 minutes of ordering. This place gets a lot of natural light which makes it pleasant to read while you wait for your food. It's not usually that packed and loud compare to your typical pho places which is another plus. We ordered two small pho bowls, and a grilled pork banh mi in addition to two cafe sua da. The service is good - quick and prompt. The food came out quick. The small is good enough as they give decent portions. Pho had a good clear broth. I wasn't really a fan of the rare meat cut as I had better. Good meat and noodle portions though. Cafe sua da was alright, could be much stronger. The restaurant didn't used the crush iced as I expected but still fine just that the ice melted fast. 3-3.5 stars for the pho and 4.5 stars for the service, location, storefront, and for accepting credit card. It's super convenient to have a pho spot in south San Jose. However I will say the pho I had here is a level down compared to the consistently good pho I've had from places on the east side. I had the large (only a $1 difference between the large and small) #1 house special pho that came with multiple meats. You have the choice of the regular/standard noodles or the fatter noodles. It was loaded down so they're definitely not stingy with the meat or noodles. I found the broth and overall flavor of the pho to be on the blander side. I'd go back to try some of the different pho selections or sides to see if there's a difference but overall it wasn't bad. The shop is super clean on the inside and the server we had was really nice. I opted for a rice plate today since it was too hot for pho broth. My first time here, I didn't have high hopes since the restaurant is kind of alone place next to the vitamin shoppe across from the mall. Big parking lot. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised with the grilled pork, the grilled shrimp was also not dry, and I also enjoyed their egg roll. I absolutely hate when egg rolls are full of veggies only and black pepper, this wasn't. Good ratio of meat and veggies. I do wish the grilled pork had more of a grilled/charred taste. Not that it didn't ... but maybe personally preference to have it a bit more charred. Nice big slices of meat, not stingy. I did go at lunch time and two of the beverages I tried to order were out/low on supplies, not a big deal, I stuck with iced water (always a good choice). I also ended up ordering a black tea from their sea cream series .... Eh nothing to call home about. Not the worst I've had, not the best I've had ... but I got back to the office and realized I left it in the car and when I remembered .. My brother and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday. Parking was plentiful and the place wasn't busy. We ordered the lean pork & shrimp spring rolls ($6), I ordered a large #3 Round Steak Pho ($11.75), and my brother ordered a large #2 Custom Pho ($11.75). We waited for a few minutes and our food came out soon after. The broth was different than a lot of pho restaurants because it had a strong beef flavor (hard to describe). There was a lot of meat and a lot of noodles when compared with other pho restaurants which made me full. The lean pork & shrimp spring rolls were good except the rice paper felt thinner than most places. Now on to the service... shortly after we started eating our food, the waitress that took our order promptly gave us our check and said to us, "Whenever you're ready." This ruined our appetite because it felt like they wanted us to leave even though we just started eating. On top of that, the check was facing up with the dollar amount showing rather than facing down. Typically, customers don't receive the check until they are finished or until they wave down a waiter/waitress (at least from my experience). When we were done, we went up to the cashier to let them know what had happened. They apologized and said the waitress was new. YES!!!! A new pho restaurant around the neighborhood that will be my new go to place! Found this place through Yelp and remembered it being a Vietnamese restaurant I had been to before. It's bright, spacious, and fairly clean. I did notice the tables looked a little bit dirty. Service was pretty good, waitress was accommodating to my requests of extra napkins, straw, etc. I ordered the wonton noodle pho but I asked for the beef broth as it always comes with pork and I prefer the beef. My mom ordered the large house special, as looking at other tables, the small bowl looks really tiny! Food came out quickly and my wonton noodle pho bowl size was in between a small and large, but tons of noodles! And....they were actually really chewy! The broth was really good too, not too oily or so MSG like. I really liked the wontons here too, and the thin pork slices that I normally don't care for was tender and tasty. However, I always get a side of white onions and mix with sriacha and hoisin sauce to make my own kimchi...the amount they give you here is so tiny and they charge more than other places, $1 for a couple chopsticks full. I really wanted to love this place but I didn't have an amazing experience unfortunately. Though there were many pros, there were certain aspects that lacked and it really changed my perspective and enjoyment of this restaurant. Therefore the given 3 stars of "its okay" and am hesitating on returning to try it again. We ordered: 1) lean pork and shrimp spring rolls, 2) grilled pork spring rolls, 3) two large #1 pho dac biet and 4) one small #1 pho dac biet. Let's start with the pros: -clean interior: the space is very bright and welcoming. The place is new and hasn't been open for long. I can tell they're taking care of the place and it's insides, like utensils and wiping down tables thoroughly before seating new customers. -tons of parking: it is located in the same plaza as party city, Buffalo Wild Wings and BevMo. You won't have trouble finding a parking spot. -large portions: the house pho (#1) had a LOT of noodles, so much to the point where my friends and I each left a handful of noodles in our bowls. My bf ordered a small and he had a lot of noodles. I ordered a large and the noodles were like double the amount of small! -great spring rolls: I personally liked the grilled pork spring rolls over the shrimp and lean pork. The sauce was amazing and sour but sweet to perfection! The peanut sauce for the shrimp spring rolls was also unique and tasty. It had a spicy kick to it which is rare for me. Cons: -weak broth: surprisingly it didn't hit my craving. I left feeling dissatisfied because the broth tasted abnormally sweet and watered down. Everyone in my group felt that way - that the broth was missing it's richness and either needed more bone or more time with the beef to give it a richer flavor. I mean I like my broth light too but it really just didn't taste like beef broth, it was sweeter and overruled with h2o. Maybe it has zero MSG too, but idk what it was for me...it really just missed the spot. People who have eaten pho for many many years will understand what I'm saying here. -concerns with food handling: my friend found plastic in his pho and I found an eyelash or some extremely short piece of hair in my tendon. We didn't say anything though because we are non-confrontational people who don't like to complain openly about those things but still, the plastic and hair were unfortunate to find :( -long wait times: they were understandably busy since it was peak lunch hour and this place is small. Not only did we wait a while to be seated, we also waited a while for our food. Maybe everything was cooked to order but for the amount of time spent waiting, I expected higher quality pho. All in all, I am wondering if I should've tried their rice plates instead but considering they're called "pho 24" I would want to think their specialty is pho. I think there is room for improvement and don't think horribly of this place, just disappointed. I do hope they take my experience and consider what I've said to become a stronger restaurant/ a staple in the Almaden Blossom Hill area. Wow. This is my new favorite Pho place in San Jose. The space is very clean and new. They also have an outdoor section if it gets packed. The pho itself is amazing. The meat serving portion is HUGE!!!!! They have three sizes: kids, small, regular. I should have ordered a kids because I could barely fit anymore in my stomach. What makes this place the best is also the customer service. They are very attentive and very polite. I will be coming to this location from now on for all of my Pho needs. This is my third time here but first time dining in. They're never busy and that makes me sad which is why I'm writing this review hoping it will bring in more business. It's located in the same plaza as party city, BevMo and Buffalo Wild Wings. Plenty of parking and they can sit you indoors or outdoors in their tent if weather permits. The waitress (maybe business owner) and another gentleman are so adorable. They love my daughter and always give her high fives when we come in. We ordered a small fried rice for the baby. It was $5. I've had their pho before, it's pretty good. When you order it Togo you get lots of noodles. Enough for two bowls easily. This time we tried their chow fun (it's not the thick flat noodles it's more of the fresh bánh pho noodles) which is fine, I liked it. The portions are huge. I came hungry and didn't finish my plate haha. Hubby tried the wonton noodle soup and the wontons tasted homemade. There's little chunks of bo viên in it too. Would be good with some xa xiu meats. Drinks I've had their avocado shakes, mango smoothie and almond black milk tea. All was good. I would prefer the avocado one to be more thick and less milky. Thought it was a bit too sweet. The BEST vermicelli dishes and flavorful Vietnamese food!!! I love love love this place and I'm so happy I randomly found it because I needed a spot to eat right off the freeway in the San Jose area. Portion sizes here are HUGE and service is fast and friendly! Everything is so affordable for how much food you get. They have a variety of pho, vermicelli, and rice dishes. Their pho is good and the broth is flavorful and hearty, but the reason I love this place is their VERMICELLI!!! I am obsessed. It comes out as a MASSIVE bowl of rice noodles topped with so many fresh vegetables and your protein of choice. I love the pork/prawn flavor and the lemongrass tofu was also an incredibly delicious vegetarian option! The spring rolls are also so good because of their peanut sauce... so addictive... I checked out Pho 24 during their grand opening week and basically got the pho for half off. My experience was mixed. Ambiance: The restaurant is bright, clean and modern looking. However, the chairs are somewhat too close to one another. My neighbor bumped into me a few times. It was difficult to navigate the interior with an infant seat. Parking: There is a giant lot shared with other shops, and parking was not an issue on a Saturday. Restroom: The restroom was clean, however, there is no baby changing station. There are designated restrooms, one for women and one for men. Customer Service: The hostess did not walk my party over to the table and hand us menus. We seated ourselves and waited 15 minutes before being approached by the store owner. Two other parties arrived after us and were served before us. I was about to walk out twice! The store manager tried to help and apologized, but got defensive at some point as I was trying to explain my frustration. I will say that he tried his best to ameliorate the situation after some time had passed when he was calmer and the restaurant was no longer busy. Food: The pho broth was nice and clear, without any MSG or fat on the surface. The flavor was decent, but not the best I have had. I prefer broths that have more fragrant flavors and notes of cinnamon, cloves, etc. I got the regular bowl and it was humongous. There was about 95% noodles and 5% meat. I did not finish my meal, but still felt hungry afterwards (maybe this was a fluke). I think the small amount of protein may have played a role. Other grand opening kinks that I won't hold it against them: four guys came to take our order, right into an iPad, and still got my order wrong. They corrected it, then tried to charge me almost double for extra veggies in my pho. They're definitely still learning, so don't come here in a rush. The shrimp was overcooked and so were the noodles. It was busy during the lunch hour so it must be a neighborhood go-to -- I don't think there are a lot of Pho spots in that part of San Jose. This place is consistent with their great tasting Pho and speedy service. We haven't ordered anything else here. We just like the Pho. All their different varieties of Pho are good. Their ingredients are all fresh and the broth is not too salty. It's not cheap here but you definitely get what you pay for IMO. They sell macarons (little ice cream sandwich treats) just at their main entrance. No inside dining due to COVID-19. They have outdoor seating but it always looks full so we always do carry-out. If you have a smart phone they have a barcode you can scan to browse their entire menu. We shall come back again, and again every time we crave is some pho. Really glad to see another pho place in the area. This place reminds me of Pho My on Snell of years ago with a large menu and plenty of drink selection. Super appreciate their 9-item vegetarian menu. Thinking Pho 24 was doing only carryout during the covid shutdown, I hadn't visited this place in over 6 months. Not only were they open for outdoor dining, they had one of the nicest make-shift dining areas I've seen in the area. There was a nice "partially-tented" eating area with about 6 large tables (with plenty of room from each other) adjacent to the restaurant. The staff was doing a great job wiping down the tables after patrons left. It was evident that the restaurant used some creativity to give its patrons a safe and comfortable dining experience. The food was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. For lunch, my family of four ordered pho tai (steak), pho with seafood, grilled jumbo prawn and onion beef with eggrolls and rice, and the grilled jumbo prawn and lemongrass chicken with eggrolls and vermicelli noodles. Everyone really enjoyed all the dishes. Even when it's 90 degrees outside, I will still go to Pho 24 to enjoy a hot bowl of pho under the shade of the outdoor tent. read more

This place's specialty is their pho for sure based on the reviews, but don't come here if you intend to order something else. Their bun bo hue broth literally just tasted like chili oil and water. My partner also had the shrimp and beef onion rice plate and he wasn't really satisfied either. I'm only giving it two stars because service was quick and server seated us and took our orders right away. Update: Initially I gave it two stars, but I'm just going to give it one star.
