This is an average pho spot. There aren't too many in this area though so my family comes here quite often whenever we have a pho craving. My parents like the bbq pork rice plate. The large and regular pho are good portioned sizes. To me, the broth isn't as flavorful as some other Vietnamese restaurants in San Jose. The fried egg rolls are really good if you are very hungry. I like to eat the vermicelli noodles with shrimp on warm days. The service is always pretty consistent. They are always friendly and fast. There is normally plenty of parking too. :) read more

The pho here was decent. It's got that original San Jose Pho style. So nothing was unique or special about it. The restaurant itself lacked cleanliness and I did not like the way the place smelled, which killed the vibe for me. The booths were worn out and had tears all over it. There was pieces of food on the floor and it didn't seem that they were maintaining the place well at all. I have been here before many years ago, and it was in much better shape. They just need to upkeep the place a bit better. With many new pho places now serving fresh higher quality meats and a nicer cleaner vibe, there isn't really a reason for me to come back here. This place is a bit underrated and has grown on me the more times I have gone. Been here maybe a dozen times now. Pho has good portions for the size as long as you stick with the regular Pho bowls. If you're a big eater and start to venture out, beware as I ordered a seafood noodle once because I wanted to try the yellow noodles and was still hungry afterwards. Summary: - Pho comes out piping hot as it should. Ordered on grub hub because they were right next to my dr.s office. When I got there I wanted an avocado shake. But they refused to take my card citing they had a limit. Even though my order I was picking up was literally 35 dollars over their limit. The guy just seemed like he didnt want to bother to look at the logic. My Yelp boo has been dragging me around to try different Pho places and this is one of them. Place - Located at the same lot where Century 24 is. The interior is very minimalist and modern. It's very clean and welcoming. Customer Service is Great! The people who works here are Hella bubbly, friendly, and efficient. He took our order and logged it in his iPad. Right now all appetizers are 50% off and all soft drinks are free until 4/30. It's located in the shopping center where the 24 Century theater is. There is only one theater in that area. This place is decorated with cool Asian art and orchids. It's clean and casual to. The food here is delicious, healthy, and inexpensive. They have everything here from Pho to rice vermicelli, rice plates, bahn mi sandwiches, noodle dishes, Vietnamese drinks, and smoothies with pearls and jellies in them as well as a decent selection of vegetarian dishes. I got the #27 seafood soup with egg noodles. I got extra noodles for $1.00 extra. You have the option of getting either egg or rice noodles. The broth is light and had a slight sweet taste to it. It was good and filling. They're generous with the noodles, so perhaps next time it won't be necessary to order extra noodles! The menu said that it comes with jumbo shrimp, and wow, it sure did! The bowl was huge! The service was fast and the people there are nice and friendly. The young girl working there was sweet and told me that she liked my perfume-:) The Pho was only $8.50. Most of the items on the menu are around that price. The bahn mi sandwiches are $4.95. There are lots of different meat options for the Pho. I ordered the #35 to go which is the grilled beef with onion over vermicelli noodles to eat for lunch the next day. That was good to. This is one of the few pho places I'll go to. I haven't really found a pho place near me and I dont really care for the ones on the east side. I like by Willow Glen, and going to east side san jose isn't really fun. The next closest is Campbell, but who wants to eat overpriced pho? So i'll go over here even though people don't like it because a lot of white people go to this. None the less I love this place. It's really funny to watch some white people ask for scissors to cut noodles with. I love the pho #1 and I get egg noodle with here, other places I get the seafood kidn. but here i'll get the beef combo. Small is about 7.75 and large is 8.75. The small is a decent size. I also like the spring rolls here, nice and fresh and on the liter side of mint. I really like the Vietnamese sandwiches here even if they are a little over priced, but this place ranges from pho to sandwiches to rice plates. Good deal I also get taro or with thai ice tea and it's good too. The thing that isn't so great is the che. Sometimes it'll have an overpowering taste of coconut, Yuck no thanks. ~~~~~ 4/5 Service: Very friendly and fast. Boy was craving some bo kho & I wasn't sure where to go but we chose this place because it was close to our destination. This place never seems to be ridiculously busy but their service is SO SLOW! You're pestered to order right away so you'd think they're pretty quick, right? WRONG. Every 2 minutes someone asked us what we wanted. When we finally ordered, mi bo kho & bun cha gio (beef stew w/ egg noodle & vermicelli w/ egg rolls) the waiting began. 20 minutes had passed and we were really hungry so he asked someone to check on our order. One of the guys came back and told us that they had lost our ticket. First off, how does that happen when we saw you take the order with an iPad? Second, even if the order was lost, there weren't many patrons in the restaurant so wouldn't you go check on the food if you noticed it had been awhile? We were really frustrated because by the time our food came out, the table next to us got theirs too. They walked in 10 minutes after us! My dish looked pretty good and the egg rolls were decent but the ratio of egg rolls to noodles/greens was way off. What was up with my fish sauce? You could hardly tell what it was because it looked like they had scooped too much chili paste into it because it was ridiculously red. Most of the time restaurants will give you plain or very little chili & allow you to add more. The mi bo kho didn't look very appetizing that day either. The carrots were hard! It's supposed to be a stew where everything is cooked thoroughly and tender. There was a chunk of noodles that were stuck together -- unappealingly inedible. The broth and meat weren't bad, lots of tender beef and the broth was flavorful. The fact that we had to wait so long and our food was pretty unsatisfying left a foul taste in our mouths. Ok that's it. I let myself cool off for a day and am still so disappointed in pho 24! I am sorry but when I have gone in numerous times and have said no cilantro I expect NO cilantro! I am over this place. They clearly do not respect customers with food allergies and for that I will no longer be going back. My friend insisted that he got food poisoning from here ... and I sort of had stomach cramps after as well which eventually led to stomach flu later on in the week soooo I am not entirely sure about this place but I thought the experience was pretty good. They are really clean, well lit, nice bathrooms and use iPads to take your order. The price is definitely more than most Pho places by at least $2 and their spring rolls are also pricier around $5-6 instead of $3 at most less clean Vietnamese restaurants but I suppose you pay for the comforts? The food came out quickly, and the noodles were pretty good. Pho Quest Stop #31 Super clean establishment that serves fresh ingredients with solid pho. It's a welcome addition to the area and, although a tad pricier than typical, a good option in the area. The restaurant is located adjacent to a movie theater and a Toy's 'r Us. Appears to be a new building as this restaurant and the salon are quite new. Interior is clean with dark tables and new utensils. It reminds me of the similarly clean Pho Wagon. During the Grand Opening, appetizers are 50% off and soft drinks are free. Spring rolls - I actually liked that they took awhile for the appetizers. The rolls looked freshly made and while the lean pork meat was sparse, the sauce and vegetables were fresh. House Special Pho - a generously sized small bowl with clean and fresh bean sprouts. Ordered the beef rare on the side and quality was good, although only 4 small cuts. Broth was piping hot, but the flavor is not as beefy or tasty as places 15-20 minutes away in the heart of Vietnamese food, but it's still enjoyable. Fairly oil free and clear. Disagree with reviews that state its super oily or the flavor is completely off (ie: not fresh stock). If its oily, then it's likely from bones, beef cuts. If its oil free, it's possibly from powder. The noodles were nicely cooked and the cuts all tender and good quality with only one or two exhibiting gristle. Overall, as stated, Pho 24 is a nice addition to the area. Though Pho Wagon is as clean, it's broth is much superior but a further drive. My area choice of Sandwich Maker can't offer rare beef on the side. I'll be back. Was greeted, seated, and served super fast. -lean pork and shrimp fresh spring rolls: fresh and yummy! -onion beef vermicelli bowl (super happy that it wasn't a weird, tough, chewy texture! Let's get one thing out of the way, right off the bat... If a person gives this place five or even four stars, it undoubtedly means one of two things: They have never had good pho, let alone Vietnamese food, in their life or they are a friend of the people who opened this restaurant OR are the people who opened this restaurant. The quick and dirty: the meat tasted old and gamey, the broth is extremely oily and doesn't taste good, there were actually pieces of chewy beef fat in my pho, (I'll post a pic to prove it) which does not belong anywhere near a bowl of pho! The price is WAY too high. Don't believe me? Go to Pho Kim Long or Pho 54 (one of the most ancient pho places) and get even a regular size bowl of pho... it will be huge in comparison and cost less, come with all the vegetation it's supposed to, and more importantly it will be real pho which actually tastes delicious. Oh, and it will come out almost immediately because it's been cooking all day, instead of the 15-20 minutes I waited for them to throw together what they call pho. Even the spring rolls had old tasting meat and tough rice-paper. Don't even get me started on the mess they tried to present to me when I ordered Banh Xeo, which should never look like a mix between a loose-cooked scrambled egg and a soggy pancake. Go to any of the closest Vietnamese places, Khanh's Restaurant, Le Quy, White Shallot, etc. and get some real Vietnamese food. You'll never come back to this place!
