I ordered my usual vermicelli dish - sometimes it's pork, rarely beef, this time it was chicken. Sometimes there's a shrimp option, but not this time (at least with another protein). The eggs rolls were there. This place you order on a tablet, have to pay when you order (they had a sign saying they've had dine-and-dashers, which I can see would be easy enough to do), but as a result, it doesn't feel quite like a normal sit-down restaurant. Because it's very much self-service except they do bring the food to your table. It's a little less indie/family restaurant feeling, and more chain (which I believe it is) somewhat impersonal vibe? We were here for the food anyway, so not a big deal. How was the food, especially since I basically always get this same dish at Vietnamese restaurants? It was fine, honestly the food itself was probably a 3.5 overall, but with no 0.5 star options, I think a 3 is more fair for the overall experience. I'd justify that by saying the food was about average, nothing special, and it was somewhat impersonal with the tablets, prepayment, and the only contact being when the employees bring the food. The taste wasn't really special, even though the chicken quality and egg rolls were pretty good. I think the fish sauce was just a bit lacking, which makes up a big part of the flavor profile. With better fish sauce, I think it would have been a 4 for the food and a 4 overall for the restaurant. Would I come here again? Not come out of my way for sure, but I also would be fine coming here if someone suggested it. That's kind of the the definition of a 3-3.5 star place for me.
3 of us came here for an early dinner on Sunday. It was pretty empty as it was early. They had a lot of tables inside and a couple of tables in the outdoor patio. Decor inside looked nice, but their floor could use some cleaning. They brought water to us after we sat down. Order/payment was via a tablet they brought to us together with the printed menus. There's a sign at the table saying that payment had to be made when ordering. Food came out pretty quickly. My husband and I each had their #74 BBQ Chicken & Egg Rolls Vermicelli. It looked good like what we had expected, but lacked flavor. Our daughter ordered #27 Rare Steak Noodle Soup. She said that it wasn't very flavorful either. The basil that came with it didn't look very fresh. We had had better and more authentic Vietnamese food in the area. Not sure why their ratings were so high. We're disappointed that their croffles were all sold out, too.
Subpar Stopped by for some pho and was a bit disappointed. The broth bland and the meat was not particularly tender. The brisket had a ton of macroscopic fat that difficult to take off. We tried both the fresh and regular noodles. The regular noodles were actually better despite being cheaper - the fresh noodles got mushy very quickly and fell apart when you tried to pick them up with chopsticks. Oh, they also serve their pho with lemon lol

The pho came with a generous amount of meat, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, we found the broth to be a little bland for our taste. Since they have such great ratings on Yelp, we're thinking it may have just been an off day.

I don't get a lot of alone time, so when the opportunity presents itself, I try to capitalize on it. Two Sundays ago I found myself free and so I wanted to treat myself out. I've been on this pho kick for over a year and I knew I did not want to drive far. I've tried almost every pho restaurants in my area except for this place. It's one of the first Vietnamese restaurant that I ordered and paid before my food arrive. Like what if I wanted to order more food? Anyway, just first world problems. The restaurant is clean and the service was quick and great. They checked on me a couple times to make sure everything was fine. The tendon can use a little more time in the pot, but overall a very delicious bowl of pho; the broth was light and flavorful, meats were tender, and herbs were fresh. I was surprised they did not charge for the rare steak on the side. I'll come back to try their other menu offerings.
We happen to be in the San Jose Almaden area looking for a spot to eat. The Pho Kitchen came up on my search as new and trendy in the area. We decided to check them out. We arrived for lunch on a Saturday afternoon recently. The Vietnamese restaurant is located in the nice Almaden Ranch Marketplace in San Jose. Parking is available in the parking lot all around the plaza. The restaurant has simple vibrant modern decor. There is a family friendly and cozy vibe going on. There are plenty of tables and booths for dine in at the spacious restaurant. We wanted to try a bit of everything, so we ordered shrimp & avocado spring rolls, Taiwanese basil popcorn chicken, chicken wings with sweet chili sauce, meatballs noodle soup, dragon fruit Italian soda, and the shrimp & egg rolls vermicelli. Everything was delicious. The spring rolls were so scrumptious with the peanut dipping sauce. My favorite dish was the popcorn chicken. It was flavorful and crispy with every bite. The plump shrimp and crispy egg rolls in the vermicelli went very well with the fish sauce soaked noodles. My son said he enjoyed his sweet Italian soda very much. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Pho Kitchen. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The tablet menu to order that is provided to your table is a nice touch. All the food was good quality, authentic, and freshly made. We hope to be back to try other dishes.
In this quiet, jazzy evening, I encountered Pho Kitchen, taking over the former noodle place that used to be here. It was a very clean place, and quite surprised that there were only a couple of people eating at this place. Finding a table was no trouble, and at the register you can order for to-go if you wish. For those who are eating on location like me, I received a tablet to order the food from one of the staff. Seeing pictures of the food through the tablet was helpful. They can help you customize your pho option, in which I got a well done brisket pho with no veggies on it. In under 10 minutes, I received my order, hot and ready. I think the spoons of this restaurant could be changed. It's not really the right spoon to eat with soup. The pho noodles were okay, though I wish it were soaked more in the broth because it tasted bland than other places I had visited. The meat was cooked well. I'm curious to try the meatball pho next time. They have plenty of options, such as rice and snacks. It's a good place for a quick eat. The flavor is a bit bland for my liking, but I'd still go for a quick bite.
First time here and I will be back. Great Pho soup and different types of foods on the menu. Sandwiches, ribs, Korean corn dogs?? never had those before and look forward to trying them out on my next visit. Location is perfect Almaden Expressway off Hgwy 85. Easy to get to and in a busy area with other food restaurants and other types of merchants. Service was great. Young people helping us out and explaining the ways to order on the Ipad menu's. They had some good jazz type of music playing on the speakers. I ordered the spicy beef pho and spring egg rolls and they did the job filling me up and not too heavy on my stomach. The spice was oily and next time I will use the Sriracha sauce instead. It was still good. I finished the whole bowl.
Got the combo pho, grilled pork vermicelli, and fries. Enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Food was tasty and kids loved it! Service was fast and the area was clean.
I don't think ordering from a tablet makes sense when there are over 100 items on the menu. It ended up feeling a little overwhelming and confusing, and it took us a while to find everything we wanted to order. Honestly, it would have been much faster if someone just took our order. The pho was good but not great. The broth lacked depth and that bold beef flavor I was hoping for. That said, the beef bones had a lot of meat on them and were nice and tender. The avocado and shrimp spring roll was pretty pricey, but it tasted super fresh. The sauce was a bit lacking in flavor, but after dressing it up with the condiments on the table, it definitely tasted better.

L came to this pho restaurant never been here before hands-down 10 out of 10 from the eggrolls with pork and shrimp to the mozzarella corn dog and the potato mozzarella corn dog was very hot crispy delicious so fresh came with ketchup and honey, mustard sauce, which we love Definitely will come back here again. The service was awesome. The ambience was chill was impact at all.Definitely a must try

The hubs and I popped into this place on a whim after running some errands nearby and being indecisive about what we wanted for dinner... And while we had zero expectations for this spot, especially after walking into a nearly empty dinning area... I have to say... Pho Kitchen is pho-nominal! We were immediately greeted by the friendliest of staff and sat at a table of our choosing. Upon being seated, we were handed a menu and a tablet to order from. What is unique about this place, is that they require you to pay on the tablet once placing your order similar to a fast food kiosk, yet you get the convince of doing so at your table without having to get up--quite innovative if you ask me. Especially considering they even allowed for customizations on the menu using the tablet which is superb. We were really impressed with the fast and friendly service and the freshness of the food. Everything was served hot and full of flavor. While my better half opted for the rare steak Pho, I went for the BBQ Chicken Bahn Mi and we split an order of veggie spring rolls and washed it all down with some freshly brewed teas. Speaking of teas... 100% customizability down to the type of tea used, sweetness and ice levels. I highly recommend these refreshing options to pair with your meal. (See photos for recommendation). Came here for lunch with a friend on a weekend and I thought it was just okay. My friend and I were told that we could sit where ever we want but it was just confusing because we weren't told anything else. We thought that someone was going to come by to give us a menu or something but after 5 minutes passed I finally realized that there's a QR code on the napkin dispenser and that that's how we would order. It's one of those where you pay prior to the food coming out. I got the short rib pho and wanted to try the chicken wings. The wings were pretty good because they were dry fried but I probably would have preferred a different sauce. I got the short rib pho and there was barely any meat on any of them and it was difficult to find somewhere to put the bones after I was done with them. ~~Parking: It's located in the large Almaden plaza with the Bass Pro Shops so there's plenty of parking if you don't mind walking a bit. ~~Service: Could be better. This was probably the worst part and not in the typical rude sense. But it was just because my friend and I were forgotten. We didn't even get water's brought to our table, we had to go and grab them ourselves. Given it was a Saturday at 12:30 pm but it's not like they were overwhelmed and that we were out of sight. ~~Worst Part: Service. ~~Return: No. read more
We have been wanting to try Pho Kitchen for some time now. We tried it for dinner tonight, and we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed when we entered the restaurant. We were directed to choose a table to sit at. Once we sat down, we were given menus and two glasses of ice water. We were given a tablet to place our order on. You enter the table number first, then make your selections. The table number is on the napkin dispenser on the table. We ordered the shrimp and avocado spring rolls and two BBQ pork vermicelli salads. Within a few minutes, the shrimp and avocado spring rolls were delivered to our table. They came with a peanut sauce. They were really fresh tasting. We both enjoyed them with the peanut sauce and a little Sriracha. Our main dishes came out next. We both ordered the same BBQ pork vermicelli salads. This was one of the best vermicelli bowls I've ever had. The pork was so juicy and flavorful. The veggies in the salad were cool and refreshing. The vermicelli noodles were cooked perfectly. The fish sauce that came with it made it even more delicious. They offer a wide variety of items. Next time, I would like to try their pho and rice plates. The employees were kind and courteous. And the tables were very clean and tidy. They also offer takeout that you can order at their kiosks. read more
The service is attentive and quick. Portions are decent sized. The Korean corn dogs are pretty good and super crunchy! The vermicelli now with BBQ chicken and egg rolls is fresh. The pho broth here is also pretty good and not overly salty. The inside is clean, but on the cold size and the cooking smoke may concentrate in the restroom or eating area. You can sit wherever and the ordering is done through an iPad and sent directly to the kitchen. Not bad and no need to drive to east San Jose. read more

Delicious food and kind staff. In the Almaden ranch parking lot where noodles and company used to be. Really great prices and nice natural lighting inside. Food was extremely high quality with lots of flavor. They have you ordered up front but then you have to go back up to the front to pay after so I actually almost forgot. Interesting restaurant concept, the server brings a tablet and you place your order there. If you need to order more after your first submission, the server is there to assist. I kind of feel like the tablet isn't necessary. The pho was very good and comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in the city. I think the soup could be a little hotter. The menu has a wide selection, from boba and snacks to pho and rice dishes. One thing is that the Bun Bo Hue was not good. It was not a traditional bun bo hue broth, instead it looked like they used a spicy chili hotpot soup base, as the bowl was filled with cumin. I'll definitely be back for the pho! read more
Ordering is the most confusing way, online. I guess I am too old. But the food is phenomenal. I have had oxtail, fish and normal pho here. Each time the bowl was more than ample. Each time I was pleased. The oxtail pho was messy, but if the chopsticks didn't pull the meat off the bone my fingers helped to hold the bone while I chewed. read more

Ordered the pork and shrimp rice plate and hubby ordered the pork Vietnamese sandwich, both were delicious! We dined in and the ordering experience was simplified because they give you an iPad to order I also highly recommend the Matcha drinks , we ordered pistachio cream and banana cream Matcha latte's. read more
Had the Short Ribs and Rare Steak pho. Also tried the fried egg roll. Good broth. Not too salty with slight sweetness. Good meat too. Came with two brisket ribs which were beefy and fall off the bone tender. The rare steak slices were good also; soft and good quality. Good portion for $18. The fried egg roll was good too with lots of shrimp pieces. Thin crispy wrapper. Perfectly fried. Very nice friendly staff. Clean, inviting dining area with simple elegant decor. The food is great-- I ordered the bun bo hue (which is on the tablet you order on, but not the physical menu) and it came out aromatic and full of flavor. Besides the lack of blood sausage, it was everything you hope for from a bowl of bun bo hue, reminiscent of my time in Saigon. My family ordered the pho and vermicelli bowls and said they were good too. Pricing is pretty fair too, will definitely be back! read more

New pho restaurant popped up and it did not disappoint! We tried the crispy shrimp and pork egg rolls (we were amazed by all the flavor these little guys had) bbq pork bahn mi (amazing and delicious) and the seafood pho with fresh noodles. There are kiosks to order independently for Togo orders. They provided menus and a tablet for seated parties. This place typically has decent parking but can be hard to find a space during peak times. Everything was so fresh and yummy! So good and we can't wait to come back! read more
3.5 stars. A couple months ago, we were sad to find out that Dessert Lounge on Meridian was closed. Come to find out, they just opened under a different name here. We're happy to know and report that they still serve bingsu and myungrang. Their Korean corndogs are still as good as before with great crunch and a "healthy" amount of cheese. For $8 per corndog, it's nice to have a place so close. The ambiance is relaxed with smooth jazz and comfy seats. We also got boba and their boba itself is slightly on the softer side and to me, a perfect texture. They also have Phin coffee which is a treat. Concerns: I don't know if the person in the back washed their hands after using the bathroom. My table was right by the bathroom and they were noticeably fast. I also don't think I got "pistachio cream" but just got normal cream on my boba. They're also somewhat pricey with their pho and other rice plates. Maybe it's just the changing times but edging to $16-18 for pho is rough on the wallet. I am again worried about too large of a menu rather than focusing on a good core. There's lots of competition for pho and I'm worried about the freshness of food. read more

Dropped by and ordered a spread to try a bit of everything. For the main, I got the rare beef pho with extra noodles and meatballs to share. The pho itself is pretty good--the broth has decent flavor and the portions are a solid, satisfying size. Shrimp Spring Rolls: Fresh and pretty good, exactly what you want out of a spring roll. Fried Fish Balls: Unfortunately, these were quite a bit too salty for my taste. read more

I returned once again to try that croffle I've been craving for. It was tasty but I was disappointed that there was barely any mango on it. It was just a tiny slice of actual fruit. The mango syrup drizzle kinda makes up for the rest by distributing the mango flavor throughout all the bites. But still, fresh fruit is always better. I quite enjoyed the pistachio vietnamese iced coffee, though. Picked up a couple korean ricedogs since I was already there.I still find it pricier than some other businesses in the area. It's good, just kinda pricy. read more

The staff is very nice and attentive. You get to sit and order on a tablet and the food came out quick. The place is very open with lots of seating. The mango in the bingsu was very sweet. I'm so glad we have a place serving bingsu in Almaden now! read more

I can tell that they are still figuring things out. I'm not sure when they first opened but Ive been waiting to try it. I came with my husband and toddler. We got two vermicelli bowls. I shared with my kid and she loved the food. I was not a big fan of the egg rolls but I'm a little picky. I will say when they asked us for drinks, I wish they let us know a lot of items were not available and we had to figure out what else to order. It was a big menu to choose from. I hope they figure things out and we'll come back in the future to see. read more
