My husband and I have eaten here at least four times since this place opened. We are so thrilled to have a pho place so close to home. Pho is our main focus. I've noticed that each time we've eaten there the broth tastes a little big different, but it's been very good each time, so no complaints. I've been to Pho 24 about five times and every time I've had really great service, really good quality pho (and sandwiches, spring rolls and smoothies) and just an overall good time. This review is based off of take out delivery so I cant comment on their customer service or interior of the restaurant. I ordered a beef pho with extra meatballs, Lipton iced tea, and some extra pickled onions. I got a beef pho with a surplus of vegetables that I wouldn't have of found in a regular bowl of pho (unless a vegetarian pho) The broth was meh.. Bland and lacks any aroma. They gave me 4 quarters of a meat ball which is usually how it goes at a pho restaurant but they'll give you more than one meat ball (especially if I also ordered extra meat balls) The lipton iced tea came in a to-go cup which I found weird. It ended up being regular iced tea, unsweetened. So im sitting here writing this review; hungry and disappointed. read more

Someone in the kitchen is consistently losing hair in the batches of food and if hair is going in there, I don't want to know what else is. I've found my perfect pho and I can't eat anywhere else. Now let me preface this by saying I don't love traditional pho. The beef broth...I just can't. But the VEGETABLE & TOFU (#23) soup is my everything. Just so many delicious veggies and the broth is simple but flavorful. I don't like to add any of the sauces - just give me veggies, tofu, and allllll the noodles. My husband also loves it...but goes the traditional route. Right in the same shopping center as Century 24. It would be very convenient for those coming for movies. Nice and clean. You could tell they put some thoughts into the plates and bowels; not the typical asian cheap pottery kind. Side vegetables such as bean sprouts and basil leaves are very clean and fresh. Long awaited review. I'm here all the time with my girlfriend and we both love it. Food (10 stars if I could) - We have tried almost everything on the menu and nothing disappoints. Definitely recommend their spring rolls, as it is VERY good. Also recommend their house special if you're craving soup or the #47, their filet mignon beef cubes over red rice. If you're on a budget, their $5 sandwiches are also very delicious and filling. Drinks - Their lemonade soda is addicting. My girlfriend also likes the avocado smoothie. We've watched them make it and they use fresh avocados which is a huge plus. Lemonade and orange juice are all made fresh as well. Service - Staff is great and very friendly. Cleanliness - Definitely up to par, very clean. Highly recommend this place, as it is my girlfriend's and I's GO-TO spot to eat. read more

Bottom line -- I couldn't think of any good reason to dock a star (or more) for this place. I have always wanted to try pho but didn't want to go to some ratchet ass place, so I finally decide on Pho 24 based on Yelp reviews and recommendations from a couple of friends. When you get there, it's a trip. Actually, it's also a STRIP, right there next to those ancient Century theaters off Winchester. The facility is extremely clean, minimalistic, and bright. I liked it a lot. Service was a bit slow all things considered, and a little strange considering they handed me the two large pho bowls from across the table for me to place on the mat. Very odd, and even more odd considering that we're talking about two scalding ass, massive effing bowls of pho. Luckily, I am a beast. No big deal. So I'd give the service a C+. Not bad, but not great either. On to the food... like I said, first time pho eater. It was extremely tasty. I got the basic round steak pho, large bowl. The portion is MASSIVE and the price seemed really reasonable (around $9 I think). Now, I'll admit, I don't know jack about pho pricing. If someone were to say "yeah but it's just cheap veggies, a few shards of meat and a shit-ton of broth" and I would agree. The veggies are very abundant, the broth is excellent... but the meat was sparse IMO. But maybe that's how pho is. My wife got the chicken pho, my daughter the kid's version of mine, and my son got the filet mignon. He thought it was a bit chewy -- he's only 12 and he's already a world class beef snob -- but I thought it was very good. Overall, I thought the food was a B+ at worst, and probably closer to a solid A. So, I'm not going to dock a star just because the service was slightly slower than I would have preferred. I probably wouldn't go back, but it's not their fault -- I hate soup. And we're talking GALLONS OF HOT SOUP YO! Not my thing. But I WOULD recommend it to anyone who wanted some good Vietnamese eating. Oh, almost forgot. I have been to this place a total of three times with the same group of friends. We usually come to eat toward the end of the evening maybe an hour and a half before closing. When at any pho restaurant, I only order Wonton rice noodke soup because that's just my favorite. However, I never though Merry Christmas! about how "clean" a soup looked until my friends pointed this out. Don't get me wrong, I still think there are some good whole-I'm-the-wall pho places, but this place changed my standards of what good, clean pho soup should taste like--especially toward the late evening. The broth tastes really good, like it's not oily, which my friend use to make a point of. The vegetables are fresh and crunchy. I noticed with other pho places, the veggies were flat; I could slurp them along with my broth. The customer service is really good. I had a pretty bad experience there last week. (So let me preface with the fact that this review is more about the service rather than the food. The food itself i'd give about 2.5 stars. Nothing exceptional but not bad either. ) I ordered pho with no cilantro and green onions (please dont discredit me based on that!) and when they brought out the order they realized they made a mistake and brought it back. Which is nice and all but what they did in the back was just drain the soup and flipped the noodles so I couldnt see the cilantro and onions initially. But the noodles were all clumped together and after I mixed everything around for awhile it was very clear how they tried to deceive me. Yeah maybe I'm just a picky eater but if i was allergic, this could have been much more serious. I will say, when i called them out on it, they apologized and asked if I wanted anything for free. This is my favorite Pho place in the Bay Area. Doesn't mean a ton coming from a white guy, but I've tried lots of places all over the area. Pho 24 consistently has great broth, friendly fast service and a nice casual atmosphere. Broth is the thing that makes or breaks pho in my opinion, and Pho 24 just kills it. Just the perfect balance of salt and beef stock. Great meat/ noodles ratio as well. Overall, my go to place when I want a great bowl of Pho. There's probably more authentic places around but this is my favorite. read more

it's hard to give a Pho restaurant a 4 or 5 stars when there are so many good Pho places in San Jose. as best I can describe, the broth isn't bad but it isn't that amazing. does it hit the spot?...for me no. locally you have places with better Pho like Com Tam Thanh or a little farther Pho Wagon. they do try to make up for the lack of satisfaction by giving you larger bowls than the competition but that's about it. Came here for a business lunch and there's not much really to say. Pho is something that you either get right or you don't. Pho 24 gets it right. Noodles, broth, veggies, ratio of meat to noodles, and service are all what you'd expect from a good Pho joint (The place is CLEAN TOO!!!!). Their fresh spring rolls are also good. Hell the location is convenient too being just next to the Century 24 on Winchester and it's definitely wonderful to have more good Pho options in the more Westeros-ly locations. One thing of note is that there are definitely vegetarian alternatives to many things on the menu. Personally I'm a meatatarian and am completely oblivious to the inner workings of the cult that is vegetarianism, but it's nice to know that when I'm meeting with my contacts inside that organization, they can feel comfortable with the menu options. Very modern for a pho/Vietnamese restaurant. The restaurant is pretty small but a pho restaurant is def necessary in the area. They offer sandwiches, spring roll, egg rolls, vegetarian dishes, pho and other noodle soups too. I got the combination rice noodles (hu tieu thap cam) which came with bbq pork, shrimp, imitation crab and LOTS onions. The broth was ok and the noodles were stuck together. My boyfriend got the pho and he enjoyed it. The large seemed pretty big similar to the size of Pho Kim Long's large. I do enjoy that they offer both wooden disposable chopsticks and regular ones for the germaphobes. The service is very polite and they take your order on iPads. The presentation of the food is good but doesn't taste that great. They also have a tv that shows football games so that's a plus. read more

I've only been here once but this review is best on that experience. I came in during lunch on a weekday by myself. I was seated and the place is very clean and well laid out. The waiter that sat me down didn't smile and wasn't very pleasant. I ordered Pho Dac Biet (Special) in a large bowl. The soup was okay 3 star fair, The bowl was large but it was mainly noodles and soup, not much meant or content. It felt like it was a small bowl with 2x the soup. would rather it have more content or at least water down the soup less. The big one is i found a hair (around 10-12") long in my soup. It's not mine I'm a dude with short hair. The guy took it back and offered a new soup but i had eaten about 1/2 and already lost my appetit. I wish the manager offered to just give me a gift card/credit or to reduce my bill but that didn't happen. - thus 2 stars. Would i come back? sure when desperate for pho within 1mile from my house. but there are much better options in the south bay. read more

This is a newly opened Vietnamese Food Joint that I had to try out. First the service was quite good. The people there welcomed us with a smile, and a minute after sitting down we had full glasses of water. The Pho in this restaurant is OK at best. The soup was blander than other restaurants and it was a tiny bit pricier too. I would recommend the Fillet Mignon Bo Luc Lac with tomato rice (#47) which was excellent. The meat was very tender and the whole dish was very tasty. The Banh Xeo (#103) was pretty good and crispy with lots of fresh veggies inside. Lastly the Seafood Crispy Chow Mein (#73) was quite a surprise too. Not many places are able to serve the noodles that crispy, but this place did just that. The seafood and sauce was very tasty too. This place was nice...only been here once. It wasn't the best experience for the first visit. The POS system went down and all the customer checks needed to be converted to paper, we had to wait a long time. The food was ok, but the portions were on the smaller side of what I normally have at other Pho joints... :( But I gave it a 3*s becuase the customer service was very attentive and apologetic. Wow. This place is awesome. The food is great! I told the owner, its great how unlike other places where i taste a lot of msg in the food, but in this place i can't taste it. He told me thats he is the owner of pho 24 (on winchester and santa teresa) and he doesn't use any msg in their making of their food. The waiters could be a little friendlier but they did took care of all my needs and i did get a couple of smile out of them. The place looks like it has been remodel or newly painted. Went here with coworkers- small and very accommodating joint -- we had 8 people and came during rush hour lunch time without any appointment. They were able to shift some customers around to make it work for us. Very nice clean restaurant in a plaza of nothing with fair amt of parking. The workers there were vietnamese so that was a plus. I ordered #1 Pho Dac Biet and thought it was just okay. Nothing was delicious about it and the meat for sure was a bit lacking. They were fair in their noodle portions. The broth..it didn't really hit the spot. At least it came out warm. We also ordered Spring Rolls which were quite good. Overall, I would give it a 3 star. Was here with a group of six people, we were seated right away. Food was yummy, with huge portions! Great place for people who don't want just Pho. They have a lot more then just Pho, which was perfect for me since I'm not a huge fan of it, I got the beef chow mein and it was scrumptious. This place is walking distance for us so we decided to try out for lunch today. With the small portion of pho, it's quite generous as I have been places that charge more with less food. They were good and fresh. #2 Custom pho with steak and tripe. Steak slices weren't as thin, and the tripe pieces were HUGE, not like the little skinny pieces you would normally see. There was a good amount of meat and tripe. Noodles were okay, the broth was really good! You could see the oil on top but it still didn't taste too salty. I could tell how much MSG a broth has by how thirsty I was, but I wasn't too thirsty, so that was a plus! I also ordered a Thai tea. Waiter offered me a soup spoon with the previous diner's food stuck on it. TWICE. It is incredible how rude and unhygienic the place is. The first spoon brought to me has red hot sauce stain on the side. When I asked it to be replaced with a new spoon, the waiter took it but never came back. After waiting for 15 min, I had to go to the front to ask for a new spoon. The waiter looked around, not finding anything, then offered me a spoon in a bowl in front of him. I picked it up -- a wet spoon with yellow soup on top...AND a piece of green cilantro leaf stuck to the back... I work in healthcare.
