First and foremost, the price of this sandwich is very reasonable. Reminds me of pre-Covid pricing ($9.50). The size is pretty decent and I loved the taste of the pork. I didn't get fatty bits like some other places I've had. Only gripe I have is there wasn't any jalapeños. Usually they're on Vietnamese sandwiches. Will have to request next time. I used to come here every week in 2023-2024 and considered it the best pho spot in the area--until I discovered VPho. After six months away, I decided to give Pho24 another try, but unfortunately, I won't be returning. I ordered the seafood pho with added brisket, a side of fried rice, and a honeydew smoothie. Since I only wanted the shrimp, I assumed they might add a little extra--wrong! What I got was a bowl full of broth and noodles with just five pieces of shrimp. The noodles were clumped together as if the broth wasn't hot enough to separate them. On top of that, the dining experience itself was disappointing. The cup they brought my water in was cracked, causing it to leak. When I grabbed a chopstick, I couldn't tell if it had collected dust inside its package or if it had gotten wet and moldy. To be safe, I used my leaking cup of water to rinse my utensils--definitely not something I should have to do at a restaurant. They used to make their food with care, as if cooking for family, but something has clearly changed. The only things I truly enjoyed were my drink and the fried rice, which was pretty disappointing for a place I once loved. read more

I seldom write poor reviews for "small" business but I cannot in good conscience leaves these words unsaid. I had eaten here before and the ambiance is alright. Servers were curt and the locale is outdated, needs a thorough deep cleaning. MOST IMPORTANTLY: They have repeatedly added in strange charges to other customers bills. I also had a very bad experience. First: There was a fly in our pho that we ordered for pick-up. Okay, it happens- places will just refund and that's it. Nope, they initially refused to refund us over the phone and asked us to bring back ALL of the food. We did. Got there and they kept insisting it must have fallen in in our home. It did not, this fly was underneath some of the noodles, not at the surface. Told them this and they did not want to refund still! After a while, they did a refund.....then charged me again! I called my bank and was able to get the charge cancelled but my oh my, these are extremely deceptive practices and they should be investigated for fraud. Please do not eat here. I had an overpriced and not very impressive meal from Pho 24, and I wouldn't order from them again. For $86, I got the following: 1. Vietnamese iced coffee 2. Grilled shrimp and pork vermicelli with egg roll, with extra vermicelli, fish sauce, and egg roll 3. Pork and shrimp egg rolls 4.. Grilled pork sandwich The coffee was fine, no complaints there. If you like coffee and you like sweet stuff, it hits the mark. The vermicelli bowl was less successful. The shrimp were hard and rubbery and the egg rolls were just flavorless. Also, there was a noticeable lack of herbs, which are one of my favorite things about Vietnamese food. The pork/shrimp egg rolls also had very minimal flavor, which was disappointing. Usually Vietnamese food is so explosive with flavors and textures, these tasted like they were full of flavorless, homogenous mush. The sandwich was below average, mostly because of the bread being incredibly dried out. I had to use an entire container of fish sauce to soften the bread just to save my jaw the struggle to chew it. Overall, this was way, way, way far away from being a $90 meal. At half the price I would still expect more. I wouldn't come back. read more

Let me first dispel the myth or confusion--Pho 24 is regrettably NOT open, 24 - hours a day. Trust me. I asked. This little spot is frequently busy and I can understand why. The food here will definitely "hit the spot" and won't break the bank. I dropped in not too long ago with a friend of mine for a late night meal and the experience was more or less decent. Not fantastic, not horrible... but ... standard. The menu options and quality of food here was favorable... but what I didn't really appreciate, was the feeling of being rushed out before even finishing my meal. After arriving and finally being seated, we weren't given much time to look over the menu before being asked to place an order... and when I asked for more time to look at the menu, the wait staff appeared visibly irritated--perhaps because it was late? Or maybe they just had a bad day? I'm not entirely sure.... but the tension was palpable. Shortly after receiving our food... we were asked if we wanted "to-go" containers... which seemed odd, considering the fact that neither one of us had really put a dent in our meal...In an attempt to find the justification for all this, I checked the time and looked at the rest of the patrons left dining... I assumed they just wanted to clear the place out an hour before closing or something... So... even though I wasn't finished eating... I took the to-go container and boxed up the remainder of my meal. I enjoyed the freshness of all the ingredients --i definitely recommend the won-ton noodle soup.... but do yourself a favor and come early or when they aren't busy...maybe you'll have a better experience than me! read more

We were looking for a Pho place to get some craving satisfied. While the Pho was on par with others in the area it wasn't outstanding for the price they charged. While a few preferred tables were open the hostess kept saying they were reserved for bigger parties. and was a little argumentative This was at about 8:00 PM on a Sunday? There are so many pho options in San Jose and, for the most part, they are all fairly similar in taste to me. Personally, a good bowl of pho is dependent on three factors: noodles, broth and quality of meat. I am no pho expert, but those are the three things I look for when I'm eating a bowl of pho which then helps me determine whether it's a place I'd revisit. Pho 24 is probably one of the closer pho restaurants to me and I gave it a 3 because it's an average bowl of pho, nothing in particular really stood out. What was ordered: + Lean pork & shrimp spring rolls - I have to admit, their peanut sauce is one of the better ones that I've had. Their peanut sauce has a thicker and darker consistency compared to some that I've had, and I am all for it. They also put some chili on top of the peanut sauce as well. Their spring rolls were pretty thick and the "skin" was nice and thin. It was also wrapped nicely so that the stuffing didn't all fall out when I was dipping in the peanut sauce. I would order this again. + Pork & shrimp stuffed egg rolls - I thought the springs rolls were thick but their stuffed egg rolls (these are fried) were SUPER stuffed! The stuffing isn't what I'm used to, it was so packed that it looked more like a sausage than the filling in normal egg rolls. It was nice and crispy but it was just a little too much filling for me. + Small round steak & brisket pho - This truly was an average bowl of pho to me. The broth was decent, although it lacked some flavor. The noodles broke easily, which did not make it fun to eat because I felt I was constantly trying to scoop up broken pieces. The meat was good, the brisket was tender for what it was and the round steak was... well round steak. I'm definitely more used to having rare steak but the round steak was fine. As mentioned above, nothing really wowed me for this bowl of pho. The service was great! We were seated pretty quickly and they provided us water and menus as we sat down. They were very attentive and offered us additional napkins, which honestly doesn't happen enough at restaurants anymore. I wouldn't go as far as to say this is my favorite pho spot, but I would come back to try other dishes (like their rice dishes) and would order their spring rolls again. read more

First time ordered food here. I called to go order chicken salad and fried wonton. When I came Inside, OMG! Smell really bad.. then when i came to the cashier, looked around is dirty! Inside was empty. After paid, i feel like wanna run as quickly, I couldn't stay inside and i am thinking if i be able to eat food? Because the smell and dirty restaurant it's make me lost appetite to eat. I ended up open the salad.. and HUGE.. it's mostly cabbage and carrot! I barely eat the salad with the salty dressing! The small size is a good size but like everything else even pho is now fairly expensive at over $16. Pho 24 is my go-to place whenever I'm craving Vietnamese food since it's near where I live. The portions are always generous and staff are attentive. My usual order is either the Bun Cha Gio (pork & shrimp-stuffed egg rolls with vermicelli) or Pho Do Bien (seafood pho); both which are flavorful and full of flavor. If you order takeout in person and are in a rush, I wouldn't recommend that and would advise calling prior as it can take a while. I noticed that whenever I come in and order to-go, people that come in after and dine there get their orders before me. In regards to ordering takeout, be sure to check your orders before leaving as on some occasions they didn't include all parts of my orders or didn't include extra portions I paid for. read more

Thoroughly satisfying bowl of pho! My go-to is usually pho tai chin (rare steak and brisket). My friend Wu and I both ordered this with the fresh noodles option. The large size is huge! The steamy broth had a nice fragrance, and had a hint of a anise (from the basil or star anise?). We agreed that the fresh noodles were kind of mushy, and that we'd order the regular noodles the next visit. The meat was good, though not as plentiful as you would expect for a bowl if this size. Service was good, especially since we were the first customers of the lunch crunch. The restaurant was full by the time we left. This is a clean, well-lighted restaurant--a beacon on a chilly day. Probably the most expensive pho I have ever had in my whole entire life. I got the thit nuong vermicelli and my bf got the brisket and steak large pho. Literally, our whole bill came out to be $28...not including tip. The pho noodles tasted like plastic...or it was just really undercooked. The broth tasted like canned broth. I didnt see any of the bone specks in the broth...it was clear brown. The vermicelli was alright...they probably gave me 1/16 of the fish sauce and I had to ask multiple times for more fish sauce. Seemed a bit cheap to me if they gave me 1/16 of the fish sauce to pour into a big bowl of vermicelli. The taste was alright. Nothing special...nothing great either. As I am waiving her down to take our order, she goes into the kitchen. An older man comes running out screaming at the parking lot. WTF?! The lady sits back down. I have to get up and get her attention to order. We ordered TWO bowls of #31 (wonton noodle soup). They gave us ONE bowl. I had to get up to tell her ordered TWO. We found it weird their soup came with lettuce leaves in it. Like not cut, whole leaves. We got 1 order of shrimp spring rolls. Pass on those. They fall apart before you take one bite. I've been looking for a good Pho place and Pho24 did not disappoint. I ordered the brisket pho. The price seemed kind of high at first until I saw the amount of toppings and noodles they give.
