I can no longer give Pho 37 my business due to a case of captivity and what I see as blatant neglect. As soon as you walk in the door of this small establishment, you will see two beautiful and massive Koi fish in a tank that can't be much more than twice they're length and not even one fish width. I sat at Pho 37 eating my lunch and could not get these Koi out of my mind. The boring, dull lives they suffer with no space to swim and no stimuli must be driving them mad. If Pho 37 must have Koi in this tank, I wish they would put fish in the tank an appropriate size to suit the environment. I believe the two massive Koi currently enduring this sad existence deserve nothing less than a habitat with plants, access to sunshine and room to swim. We dropped in unexpectedly one night when we were craving Pho but our usual Richmond pho place happened to be closed on Tuesdays. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be coming back here! I had the #40 Tuan Special Pho (which comes with an egg). The broth tastes amazing and I'd highly recommend it! Salty was both the broth and their attitude towards us. My family and I came here for lunch before heading out to Steveston. We ordered their special #40 and one bowl of #12 (remember this number, because they didn't). Their 40s had a special spicing with them which was a nice change from the typical dac biet, but again, it was a bit too salty for a noodle soup. If you do choose to come here, get your eggs fried, otherwise, you'll be getting just a yolk on top of your beef that'll disappear into the soup with just a pop. Now if it were just a review on their food, it would probably get a 4 star. However what really irked me was their treatment of us at the end. They first forgot to bring the #12 after 6 bowls of #40. When we tried to ask them about it, my cousin and I mistakenly asked where the #18 was. They brought out "supposedly" the 18, but the person who ate it said it arguably didn't have any tenderloin. At the bill, they ended up charging us for the 18, even though the first waitress had definitely written it down as a 12. The waitress had the audacity to tell us that we were in the wrong for telling them the wrong number, even though they didn't confirm our order or the change with us when we made the mistake. Sure, it's a $3 difference, but god forbid that a worker tells a customer they're wrong for this and refuse to refund -3 dollars-. read more

Service was good, food was excellent. Was there with wife and two kids. Ordered a salad roll, rare beef pho, Tuan pho, combo lemon grass pork w/rice plate, and the crispy noodle dish. My wife and daughter couldn't finish the combo plate and the crispy noodle dish so had it to go, also had a half salad roll, left. Asked for containers for the left overs. Also asked for a container of peanut sauce, for the left over salad roll. But server brought back an empty container to pack the peanut sauce. Which I thought was a bit 'cheap' of them. We were in the Ironwood Plaza and searched yelp for a good place to eat. We wanted something fast and thought we'd give Pho 37 a try as it has lots of great reviews. We were glad we tried this place. I ordered the house special pho and Dan chan had the Tuan's special. There were no selections in size like some other pho places have but I don't mind one bit. :) The pho came out hot although it could be hotter in my opinion. The various meats were just right and so were the noodles. The broth was very flavorful. It was better than most of the pho places I have been to. I did feel thirsty afterwards though but I certainly enjoyed my meal. I also loved the chili which I think they mixed with lemongrass. It wasn't too spicy. Dan-chan's pho was good too. Both looked the same but hers had a raw egg and the broth had a heavier flavor. We came for dinner so there wasn't too much crowd but I would guess that they are busy during lunch time as they had a waiting sheet in front. 10% off dine in and take out on Mondays. Prices are reasonable. I would love to try their rice dishes as the grilled chicken and pork chop ordered by the table next to us smelled yummy. ;) Will definitely be back. read more

My go-to order is #14 spicy soup noodle. Their food is consistently good, but their service is on and off depending on who is working. Many of the staff doesn't speak fluent English, so just be patient :) They have a 10% off on Mondays, which makes eating out on Monday an easy choice. read more

Pretty much a hole in the wall, but I'm so glad that I found it. It's situated between Save Ons and London Drugs in Ironwood Plaza and the door is super easy to miss. I tried Tuan's Special Beef Noodle and ohhhh myyyy goddd it was literally (and I mean literally) the best pho soup I've ever had in my life. The depth of flavour in that soup was amazing. This is not your generic MSG-filled soup that you get at most other pho places, it was so damn good. The noodles were nice and chewy and weren't super clumped together (which I hate). The beef was also seasoned before they stuck it in (unlike other places). The only thing I regret is not taking a picture so I could show you guys. The price of food here is pretty damn decent for the portion you get. I'm self-admittedly a big eater and that one bowl of pho filled me all the way up. If you're ever in Ironwood mall and you wanna get food, skip the Timmy's and head to Pho37 instead. You won't regret it. read more

We've came here a couple of times pre-COVID days and decided to order take out during this time. We ordered a rare beef pho and a grilled chicken with rice. While prices here are a tad more expensive compared to some other Vietnamese restaurants, we like the consistency of the food and the flavour is decent. We were SURPRISED by the portion! I don't recall the portion being so big when dining in. The rice dish had 3 large pieces of chicken and I could split the pho into two bowls! The chicken was juicy and cooked perfectly and the pho wasn't overly salty (they claim to have no MSG). I found the noodles a tad hard for my preference, but the amount of meat was quite generous. My only complaint is that the soup could be a little hotter. We got take out and came directly home, but had to microwave the meat to get it cooked. This restaurant never really disappoints! On another note, we've tried their banh mis before and they were equally delicious - not the best we've had, but decent. read more

Started with an order of spring rolls, they came half burned and no saucer. The beef special pho was good, not different sizes offered, and the only size is fair for the price. Located off Steveston Hwy in the Coppersmith Corner Shopping Centre. The restaurant is small, but nicely decorated. A great place to have Pho on a cold, rainy winter night. The prices are reasonable. The wait staff is very kind. You don't have to wait long for your food to arrive. Everything is great except for one thing... the Pho. It's good, but not great. My wife and I enjoyed a delicious soup today. I had hot and sour, and she tofu vegetable soup. On such a cold day our soup was doubly welcome. The vegetables were fresh, crisp, and delicious. I brought my sister here yesterday and today I brought my wife and son. We're ordering the vermicelli chicken and pork bowls and my son is getting the chicken noodle soup. Yeah he's a plain vanilla kinda guy. Their Pho Tuan is amazing. The vermicelli bowls didn't disappoint. They also come with delicious crispy spring rolls which are just so full of flavour. You'll never want to go to a food court Vietnamese spot again after these beauties. The service is excellent. Friendly and professional. Mind you it's Friday night and we are the only people here. Had the Pho with everything. Pho itself was good, proportions was dexent. Hard to compare since I'm from the U.S. (California) and there will be some slight regional differences in the Pho between the two and proportions in California is traditionally large. Service was prompt, but not as friendly as they could have been. Maybe it was a hard day for the working crew, but no matter how the day is, you have to prevent your emotions from showing. read more

Really liking this place. My wife and I have visited several times and enjoy the food, decor, and service. First, the tea is great. It has a strong, delicious flavor. Second, the food is wonderful. I usually get the Pho Tuan, the specialty of chef Tuan. It has an egg yolk in eat and multiple kinds of beef in it. I don't even add ingredients. Decor is very tasteful and modern and the staff is friendly. Never thought I'd say this about a pho place, but you could take a date here. Menu is the standard for numbered pho joints. Got there at 11:45 before the lunch rush and ordered house special pho and iced coffee. Broth was dark, opaque, and rich. However the anise and cinnamon were a bit strong, and it was really noticeably sweet. Beef was sliced about twice as thick as most other pho joints, which was exacerbated by committing the cardinal sin of serving the rare beef slices submerged in the broth so it was the texture of shoe leather by the time it hit my table. There were literally two small pieces of tripe ::sad face:: but thankfully the two big pieces of tendon were tender and chewy, though not mouth melting like in the best pho dac biets. Accoutrements were clean and immaculately fresh. Iced coffee was good. I really wanted to like this place because I had stopped in around lunch time a couple days before for a Viet sub and the place was packed. But the broth kind of ruined it for me, and the cooked to death rare beef didn't help. I know taste is subjective, but this really is one of the sweetest and saltier broths I've had. Since it's a nice restaurant with nice staff, I'd give it another try, but I'll probably skip the pho. read more

There is a cult following for this restaurant's #40 special among my group of friends. I've seen the quintessential raw egg in the 40 special posted to instagram so many times that I know that the diner had a damn good meal that evening. My friend hosted her 23rd birthday party in this restaurant, it's so well loved that she rented the whole place out and everyone was beyond thrilled My only gripe with this place was that the appetizers (especially the deep fried mushroom rolls) were so delicious that I had no room left to eat their signature bowl of the #40 special. Their broth isn't like anything I've ever tasted, the garlic is a stand out in its fragrant flavour, the beef medley is composed of delectable rare meats, and of course the famous raw egg adds it's special touch. I don't usually leave reviews but this place does it right and im already itching to come back. read more

Was around the area and had a craving for pho so landed at pho 37 through yelp. Oh man, no wonder pho 37 is so busy! All the bowls are one size (equivalent to normal large pho size) and the price is relatively the same as other pho restaurants in vancouver but pho 37 is more similar to fusion pho restaurants in downtown. I ordered a vermicelli bowl and it was presented so beautifully! The grilled pork was grilled perfectly and the spring rolls were perfect. Me and my fiancee were on a vacation and we were craving for some pho and we didn't know where to go since we are from San Francisco Bay Area. We saw this place while searching the internet and gave it a try. And oh man, their pho is bomb diggitty! We have a lot of Pho places/Vietnamese restaurants back in the bay but I must say, their Bun Bo Hue is the best! My girlfriend ordered the usual combination pho and it's good as well! What I noticed is that their chili garlic paste tastes hella good and also the black sauce! It doesn't taste like the usual store bought hoisin sauce, instead it tastes like plum and hoisin combination but I must say it is wonderful. I don't know if they make all their sauces at home but that's the thing that makes my mouth into explosion and me into food coma. The place itself is clean and nice. They will welcome you with a smile and give you some good warm freshly made tea. We also had their regular spring roll and salad roll and man, all of 'em are good. Now I am thinking if we still have the best pho place back in California because this pho place changed my mind. I will for sure come back here whenever I am back in BC. I actually had to come back to this place before my flight back to California and tried their grilled chicken which is satisfyingly good too!
