First time trying this place at the mall, didn't know what to expect. It had pretty good reviews and had some things on the menu. I've never tried before. Service was fast and helpful. I really like the sizzling plates. My son had the pho and he thought it was pretty good but not his favorite. I would definitely come back though and try other things on the menu. Plenty of seating inside and outside.

this place is so good! first time we tried it was when our parents ordered it for take out and brought it to us in fremont. i ordered the filet mignon banh mi because i wasn't sure how the pho would travel but they packed all the pho orders well with the meat and fresh noodles properly separated as well as all the garnishes and the soup was still hot when they arrived, we didn't need to reheat it. we were pleasantly surprised with all our dishes. for pho, we tried the oxtail, beef rib, and chicken (which is a half cornish hen) and they were all so flavorful with a good portion of meat. the chicken was very juicy! it was so good that a week later we came to oakridge because we wanted to try the sizzling plates which seemed best for dine in. the filet mignon (#34) and beef rib (#36) sizzling plates were soo good! it comes with sausages, pate, meatballs, fried egg, a small bowl of pho broth, small salad, and choice of baguette or rice (but i asked for both!). if you're getting pho, i'd definitely recommend adding a baguette to dip in your broth. we were a party of 8 so we sat in the outdoor patio where there's more space and it was nice and cool out there. will definitely come back here more often in the future!

    Oxtail Pho!!

We stopped here before doing some grocery shopping. Tonight I decided to get the oxtail pho since I have been craving the oxtail soups that I get in Hawaii. Service was great - hostess was friendly and they kept checking in on us whether the food was good or we need more water etc. Kids got beefball that they enjoyed and again I got the oxtail pho. The meat came off the bones and I really was hungry since I devoured everything. I also order the lychee drink which was also amazing. I would recommend it. Would come again - we enjoyed the food and service!!! Noise wise there is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside and had a nice conversation and was not loud.

Met my girl here for lunch as she was working in the area for the day. Strangely, Pho 408 is tucked behind Oakridge Mall (in the same parking lot) but it works. The mall entrance leads you immediately to the front of the restaurant. They did a great job with incorporating an outdoor seating patio to maximize the usage of space -- and to attract shoppers walking by with the wonderful aromas of the Vietnamese cuisine. We didn't try their pho but that will be for a future visit. We ordered the following for a party of two: * Gỏi Cuốn Tôm Thịt - Traditional Summer Rolls ($8.95) * Bánh Xèo Chảo Sài Gòn - Saigon Sizzling Pancake ($14.95) * Bánh Hỏi Thịt Nướng - DIY Rice Paper Rolls with Grilled Pork Skewers ($21.95) * Tôm Rang Bơ Tỏi Mì Tỏi - Garlic Prawns with Garlic Noodle ($21.95) * Trà Trái Vải - Lychee Ice Tea ($7.95) * Soda Chanh - ($7.95) Everything was delicious -- as close to authentic flavors as you're going to get in the area (South San Jose). My only feedback would be to have more fresh veggies for the Banh Xeo and DIY wrapping, and maybe a more traditional dipping sauce -- the fish sauce wasn't potent enough for me, haha. Service was excellent. Between rotating servers supporting the outdoor patio, we were checked in on a couple of times and were waited on promptly throughout our visit. Everyone who attended to our table did so with a smile and wonderful enthusiasm. All in all, I was happy with our experience and would gladly return to try other menu items.

This place has some great options. My husband and I wanted some Vietnamese food, but we craved something more than just rice plates and pho. Pho 408 gave us just that. My husband had the bo ne which was so good. I had the snails which I also enjoyed. It was a bit hard to get the meat out of the shell, but the broth it was cooked in tasted great. I would definitely come back and try some other things.

Pho 408, located at Westfield Oakridge Mall, finally caught my attention. I decided to try their #1 combo bowl of pho. Initially, I was surprised by its small size, but it turned out to be perfectly portioned, packed with a generous amount of meat. The pho broth, while not particularly flavorful, was still decent. For under $20, it's an amazing deal for lunch. The customer service was also excellent.

From First Visit to Instant Favorite I had lunch at Pho 408 with my son, who has been here many times, but this was my first visit--and it definitely won't be my last. The restaurant itself immediately stood out to me. I love the layout and décor--it's welcoming, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. The bar seating is beautiful, the tables are comfortable with plenty of room, and there's a great outdoor patio area that I'm already looking forward to trying when the weather warms up. The staff was friendly, accommodating, and attentive from the moment we arrived. Service was impeccable without feeling rushed. Now the food--absolutely excellent. The pho was served with the option of fresh rice noodles, which made a noticeable difference. I ordered the rare slice of steak pho, and the portions were generous compared to most places. The steak tasted fresh (not frozen like you often get elsewhere), the vegetables were crisp and plentiful, and the broth arrived piping hot--exactly how pho should be. We also started with the garlic butter wings, and they were so good that we ate most of them before I even remembered to take a photo. That probably tells you everything you need to know! Overall, Pho 408 is easily one of the best pho spots in the area. Fresh ingredients, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere--I highly recommend it.

Came here for lunch and overall had a solid experience. We started with the fresh spring rolls -- super fresh, packed with herbs, and the shrimp was plump. The dipping sauce had great flavor and balance. The garlic noodles were really good -- simple but flavorful, nicely seasoned without being too heavy. The pork BBQ platter was well grilled and flavorful, and the portion was generous. We also ordered No. 35 (beef platter) which came with rice, soup, and salad -- great value for the price. The beef was tender and nicely cooked, and I liked that it felt like a complete meal with the sides included. Service was friendly and the food came out quickly. The space is casual and comfortable -- good for a relaxed lunch. Overall, solid Vietnamese spot for comforting plates and good portions. Would come back.

I wanted to try a new Vietnamese restaurant for lunch and found Pho 408 was close by in the Oakridge mall They are located across from the entrance of Ranch 99 inside the Westfield Oakridge Mall. There is an ample amount of parking outside of the mall near the restaurant. The restaurant was decorated very nicely with many seating options. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and quickly shown to our table. We were given menus and cold water was quickly brought to our table. After the browsing the menu we decided to order. I ordered the vermicelli salad bowl with pork skewers and my husband ordered the hot & sour with catfish served with rice. We also ordered the imperial rolls to share. Our appetizer came out first. The egg rolls were piping hot. You only get 3 per order, which I thought was strange. Usually at all other Vietnamese restaurants you get an even 4 egg rolls per order. They were pretty amazing. They had a nice crunch and were filled with pork and shrimp. The dipping sauce was very good and had a bit of a spicy kick. We really enjoyed them. Our main entrees came out. My husband enjoyed his hot & sour fish soup. There was quite a large portion of fish inside it. My vermicelli salad with pork skewers was amazing. I think out of all the Vietnamese restaurants we've gone to where I've ordered this same dish, this was by far the best I've had. The grilled pork was so juicy and full of flavor. The vermicelli and salad were amazing with the fish sauce dressing. It was outstanding! The service was also excellent. I needed some soy sauce and they quickly brought me some for my meal. The portion size of the food was large. I would definitely come back again. I'd like to try their five spice chicken rice plate next time.

Wow. This place is legit. It's located inside the mall right next to 99 Ranch. The restaurant was decent sized and pretty clean. The service is very good. They checked on us multiple times for water and other things. My family ordered the pho dac biet (combo). The broth was perfect. The fresh noodles were great also. My favorite was the Bo Ne sizzling plate. Everything that I ate there was really good. I'll be coming back here more often.

I've eaten at Pho 408 multiple times and the quality has always been consistent. Just because the location is at mall don't let it fool you. The pho and other food options on the menu are very good. Service has always been very great here as well, they always greet you and make sure you're taken care of. It's such a gem to Oakridge mall. The pho broth has been consistent and savory. The #1 combo pho also is packed with a lot of meat. I always leave so full and have it in my rotation of favorite pho spots in San Jose.

Pho was alright, but the broth tasted hella heavy on the MSG On top of that, a whole receipt flew into my soup from the server... and yeah I still ate it lol. Drinks took forever to come out too. Overall not terrible, just definitely could've been better.

I went here for my anniversary dinner . It's conveniently located inside the oakridge mall , right in front of the 99 Ranch market . There were quite few people inside the restaurant when we arrived on a Friday at 7 pm but they didn't make us wait too long to get seated . Once we were seated , our server came and explained us some of the dishes . Food was super duper good and the portion size was really large . We realized after a while that we ordered more than what we can have . We had to bring some of it back home . I really liked the fish sauce wings and the caramalized catfish . It came with 3 full pieces of catfish , rice , salad ,broth and the server asked me if I would like to have spicy dip kinda thing with it and he warned me it's is quite spicy . I had that as well . Everything was super good . We were there with our kids and the staff was super caring and made sure we are taken care of properly. The server saw my younger one struggling little bit with height of the table and asked if I need a booster seat ( my younger one doesn't like being seated in a child seat so I was happy with the booster) . All in all it was a really nice experience. I am gonna go back here soon .

    Pho Dac Biet. Extremely flavorful.

While I do love just about any and every type of food, there's always been something about a good deli sandwich that brings me back to childhood and my uncle's old delicatessen. I've even gone so far as to institute a "Sandwich Friday" for our weekday dinners, and as of late, we've been going to Zanotto's Willow Glen, as it's on my route home from work, but the other day we changed things up and came to the Sandwich Mill--and boy, I'd forgotten how great this place is! But to keep things fair, I decided to do a sandwich-off and see whose sammy reigns supreme--allez cuisine! Bread: This might be the most important part of the sammich, in my opinion, and The Mill beats the shit out of Zanotto's on this one. Their bread is so soft and fresh, like a pillow that's been in the dryer. While Zanotto's breads, despite how busy they always are, always seem old and stale. Also, The Mill has a croissant option! Winner: Sandwich Mill Toppings: Pretty standard across the board, as both have a variety of mustard, sauces, and the usual cavalcade of classic sammy toppings (e.g., pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.). Winner: Draw Meat: Zanotto's has a larger selection of deli meats, including prosciutto, but The Mill has Italian sausage and meatballs. Winner: Draw Cheese: The Mill just has a small handful of classic cheeses to choose from, while Zanotto's has a bevy of classics as well as some exotic stuff like Hatch Chili Cheddar, Smoky Cheddar, and Horseradish Cheddar, to name a few. Winner: Zanotto's Ordering: Zanotto's doesn't have an online portal, unless you use DoorDash, but then it only connects to the Rose Garden location, which is way across town for us Cambrian residents. Plus, DD equals paying extra $, while The Mill has a really easy-to-use website where the price you see is what you'd pay in-store. Winner: The Sandwich Mill Accouterments: Zanotto's has a whole grocery store of stuff you can buy, including beer and a giant selection of crisps. While The Mill only has a small selection of crisps. Winner: Zanotto's Price: Zanotto's sandwiches are $14/ea, while you can get a regular for $10 or a large for $14 at The Mill. Pro Tip: If you like wraps, The Mill's wraps are easily twice the size of Zanotto's and for $5 less! Winner: The Sandwich Mill Ambiance: Zanotto's parking lot sucks and it sometimes takes forever--especially on weekends!--to get your sandwich thanks to their lack of online ordering. At The Mill you place your order online and by the time you arrive it's ready for you. Easy in. Easy out. Winner: The Sandwich Mill **DING DING DING DING** Conclusion: It was a tough battle, but The Mill comes out on top with a decisive final score of 4-2-2. While Zanotto's is still a damn, fine place to get a sammy, I think we'll stick to The Mill from now on.

Fellow Blossom Valley Yelpers, we didn't lose a BBQ spot! Armadillo Willy's on Santa Teresa Blvd…read moreclosed down, but someone revived the place! In short, it's an upgrade. FOOD (Brisket and St. Louis-Style Ribs) I got the brisket and asked for it to be fatty. It was as good as some Texas brisket, and I don't give that comparison lightly. I'm very serious about Texas BBQ. I'm also realistic because Texas-level BBQ is achievable by Californians, but only if they put the time and love into it. Currently (07-24-2026), this brisket has it. The true test is whether it still has it in July 2027. I also had the St. Louis-style barbecue ribs. I wouldn't give them the Texas star of approval, but they're upper-tier California barbecue. That's very respectable, in my opinion. My sides were Caesar salad and coleslaw. Both were fresh and held up to what you want and expect from both. The coleslaw has that expected sweetness, and the salad didn't have a single wilted lettuce leaf. The general feeling I got from Empire BBQ was that they have a strong food-handling system in place. Having fresh salad leaves is a small but sure sign of that. DESSERTS Under the radar, this place is killing it with its dessert selection. Whoever put together the dessert menu must've had fun doing it. I didn't have room to eat any, but boy do I plan to. I won't comment on them, but I added photos of each one, minus their bread pudding which wasn't in the display case. SERVICE Excellent, helpful, and kind. The person who helped me was knowledgeable about the ingredients used and the pricing, making sure I got what I wanted in a way that made sense with the meat combinations and sides. Even the chef went and checked the ingredients so one of my questions could be answered. AMBIANCE I came at around 1 p.m. on Friday, and it was a great setting to watch sports, hear old rock music in the background, and take in the BBQ smells. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. I give Empire Armadillo BBQ 5 stars. This is a must-try, with so many more menu items (especially the desserts) that I look forward to trying!

Service was completely overwhelmed on Sunday (Father's Day) and it took a long time to order and then a very long time to get our food. They ran out of fries (wha?) and the cashier said we could get sweet potato fries instead, but didn't mention the upcharge until I asked. Gee, thanks. I'll jump right to the food though. I love pastrami and I love corned beef. I had checked out the photos here on Yelp before we went, and it looked like it had potential. I don't know what went wrong on our visit. I got the Fresser, which has both of those meats. My sandwich did indeed have two meats on it, but both were incredibly bland. One meat - I think maybe the corned beef? - was sliced paper thin (which can be fine - my beloved Manny's Deli in Chicago does it thin) - but this was for some reason then griddled? It was SO DRY - kiddo remarked it was crispier than the bacon we had at breakfast. No flavor to it at all either. The other meat was a little thicker, and so it was juicer, but if it was the pastrami, I apparently didn't get any slices which had the pastrami seasoning on it. The portions were also skimpy. The kitchen was completely slammed and tables sat with empty plates on them for most of our meal (which was really annoying as folks were moving them from table to table to try to clear spots for their groups). All in all, I should've just waited for a lunch at Gunther's to fill that pastrami need!

Hahaha although I loved their classic with added on avocado, and the egg was so light and fluffy, but the sauce is in the avocado, gave it such great flavor I didn't even care!! My three-year-old niece loved her classic sandwich without the sauce since she's three and she can't have too many flavors. Lol but she really liked the dirty Tots!! Hee My aunt truly loved the coconut water Matcha drink so I actually came back and got her a second one! Funniest thing is, my aunt doesn't like Matcha, but she loved how there was fresh coconut inside and how they're Matcha didn't taste grainy or like grass. Lol. Service was incredibly quick, but it is a little squished when you are standing in line so I waited outside for my takeout food. This is such a great location though!

This is in a busy complex where the parking lot is always a bit of a disaster. I did go early on a Saturday so it wasn't too bad. There are both outside and inside tables, and plenty of people hanging out and enjoying their breakfast. I didn't love the avo & tomato sandwich, I think because it has a fried egg and not the fluffy scrambled eggs, so the egg kind of disappears and most of what you taste is the bun. The tater tots were fantastic though, as was the special coffee with vanilla. I think I'd go back to make sure I order something with the fluffier eggs. The staff was very nice and also hard working. The food came out fresh and quickly!

I was especially impressed by the wide variety of imported cheeses, French Isigny AOP butter, beautifully marbled American Wagyu steaks, Berkeley-made NY-style bagels, Rosa Brothers glass-bottled milk, and even whole rabbit. Every aisle had something unique to discover. The quality of the products is excellent, and it's a great place to shop if you enjoy cooking or putting together a cheese board. Even the kitchen towels and small gift items were thoughtfully curated, adding to the market's cozy atmosphere. If you're looking for premium ingredients and a grocery shopping experience that's a little different from the big chain stores, Zanotto's is absolutely worth the visit. I'll definitely be coming back for the butter, cheese, and steaks!

I love how each location is slightly different from each other. The employees are literally the nicest people, always soooo friendly and efficient when I order from the counter. I am obsessed with the sandwiches they make, and I am on a mission to try them all! I love the Pesto chicken sandwich (which is not made at the Rose garden location), the caprese baguette, chicken mozzarella, salami & Brie, basically cannot go wrong with any of them. This Willow Glen location has a bunch of pre made meals too from burritos to lasagna to little snack boxes. And a salad bar which I always need to get. Love the vibe it's like family owned but still modern in today's ages.
