I got their vermicelli noodle bowl with the grilled pork. It was different that other places. I love how they use the right noodle which is small. I'd say the ratio of meat was good too. I was surprised the grilled pork wasn't the regular grilled pork chop, but more like a minced/grounded pork meatball that was marinated, grilled, then cut into pieces. Their eggroll is southern style which I love the carrots in since it makes the eggroll a bit sweet. It was flavorful and the staff were really friendly. We called them to see what time they were closing and they said 'now', but would still take our last order and wait for us to arrive which I thought was wonderful. I really wanted to like this pho restaurant. It was clean, the atmosphere was casual and family-friendly and it has 4 stars on yelp. But the pho soup base had a 4 millimeters thick oil layer above the actual soup. What's worse is I didn't even order the pho and when the nice waitress offered to switch my food, the manager quickly came out of the kitchen to tell me that the switch wasn't happening. It's safe to say that the food was unimpressive but the service was worse. I wanted the bun bo hue (#17 on the vegetarian menu) and didn't see that there were two #17's on the menu. So when I ordered a large 17 without being asked which one, I was surprised to see a pho bowl. When I asked the waitress if this was the bun bo hue, she looked confused and said no. I told her I could just eat the pho but she offered to swap it with what I originally wanted, so I said yes and thought that would be the end of it. Instead, the manager comes out with a menu, points at the pho bowl marked #17, told me she gave me what I ordered and refused to switch the food, rather rudely I would add. I wouldn't have minded keeping the pho bowl, but I was happy the waitress offered. With the manager aggressively telling me that she wouldn't switch it while repeatedly tapping the menu in my face, you can be sure I won't be returning here. read more

The beef stew pho was amazing! I've had beef stew pho at other pho restaurants but this was the best! It catered more to a pho dish which I appreciated. The meat was tender so tender and juicy. I ate mine with rice noodles but you have the choice of egg noodles as well. They also serve their peanut sauce warm which is much better than cold peanut sauce. I'm so glad I found this place on accident while I was in town. I wish it was closer but I'm definitely coming back next time I'm up north. I'm torn about this place. My boyfriend and I went here last night to get some pho. The pho itself was really good. But we waited nearly 30 minutes for it to arrive at our table! I was surprised that it took so long because normally pho comes out almost immediately. There were a few other groups of 6-8 people there, but other than that it was empty, so I'm really not sure what the hold up was. All in all, our meal lasted around an hour, which was longer than we were expecting given the fact we were trying to grab a quick dinner since it was already after 8pm. This is my new local go to Pho. I love a good bowl of Pho, the broth here is flavorful and can stand up on its own without all the yummy add ins. It also has good portions of meat. I also enjoyed their spring rolls, very fresh and good peanut sauce. The staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, i don't feel bad at all having a lingering conversation after the meal. The first time I was there I did notice that the radio was on a Christian radio station, which isn't exactly my favorite, but it went along with the Jesus poster up high on the wall in a corner. While this might normally turn me off to a restaurant, it was quiet enough I found a way to ignore it pretty much, I've gone back several times. read more

Pho 84 is situated in an older and quieter strip mall, sharing space with a 7-11, Pizza Hut, Taqueria and Chinese restaurant. Inside, they have quite a big space. Many two-person to four-person tables with one (or two) large round tables for bigger parties. The interior is a little outdated and the table tops need refinishing or replacing altogether. Despite this, Pho 84 is a really great option to get a bowl of pho. The staff is friendly and attentive (I rarely get asked if I need anything mid-meal at pho restaurants, but did here) so that's a plus. Most pho is and should be judged on the broth, and Pho 84 delivers. The broth is so flavorful and rich that I wish I had ordered a large instead of a small just to get some more. The only disappointment was that the meat was scarce. If I had a few more pieces it would have made it a perfect bowl. The cha gio is just okay. I probably wouldn't be tempted to get it next time. When I have the time to travel a little farther, I'll definitely make my way to Pho 84 as much as I can! read more

Best Vietnamese I've had. Ever. And you thought Than Brothers was good? Wait until you try THIS! Tucked into a non-descript strip mall on 196th Street, my expectations were low. Since rice noodles aren't my thing, I ordered a rice and shrimp dish and it blew my mind. The sauce (fish sauce maybe?) was so potent - a perfect combo of sweet and tangy. I'm shuddering just thinking of its awesomeness. So my hubs gets the pho and I see they made it with vermicilli noodles aka those squiggly long perfect pasta noodles. Bummer for me! Came here at about 11 in the AM, and the place seemed a little quiet. I didn't mind that since I am so used to crowded loud Pho shops. I ordered the vermicelli bowl and the others ordered pho. The service was not the best.. I've expected from a pho shop, but at least some waitresses have a smile. The whole time we were there the lady had a straight face, and seemed so lost. The food was okay, I am not a fan of the fish sauce there because it didnt seem so sweet like the other places. I am so confused by the overall rating of this place. We had the pho tai with beef balls. The broth wasn't very good. The herbs were overpowering and definitely wasn't a good recipe. The beef came out well cooked, which means it was probably sitting. The soup was lukewarm. We also tried the cha gio based on recommendations on yelp. This is a Chinese egg roll fried. The skin of the roll isn't right. The service wasn't very good either. Fast, but not very good. I wouldn't come back. read more

Friendly service, clean establishment, convenient location, and relatively cheap. All good points. That said, I'd recommend ordering anything but the pho, which is pretty ironic given the name of this establishment. My dining companion got a rice dish and was very happy with it. I, however, ordered the beef meatball pho. I can's say it was bad, really... but with pho, it's all about the broth, which was colorless and bland. Unfortunately the saltiness was about right, so amping up the flavor content with a dose of fish sauce wasn't an option because it would have resulted in an overly-salted dish. In retrospect I should have just dumped part of my glass of water into it and then added some fish sauce... anything to give it some hint of flavor. Perhaps they rely on the customer adding hot sauce or Hoisin sauce at the table. I also find it telling that no less than three reviews below specifically state that this place is superior to Than Brothers. I'm sorry, but that's a laughable comparison. I would come here again, but not for the soup -- noodle or rice dishes are the better bet here. read more

I've been to many Pho restaurants and for the most part they are very similar in all aspects. Pho 84 however impressed me from the moment I walked in. The first thing that struck me was that the place was extremely clean and well-arranged. The server/hostess was friendly and seated us quickly. The menu also had more variety than most Pho places I have visited. I ordered Pho with tripe, skirt steak, and tendon and my wife ordered "beef soup", which looked a lot like Pho but tasted quite different (excellent). Both were very tasty! The side of spring rolls were crispy and fresh, and the service was great throughout. I'll definitely be going back sometime soon. read more

The bowl was gigantic, I could have easily shared it. I got one of their smoothies, I think perhaps it was honeydew or some type of melon. It was green. The broth is so light, like it has no taste at all. Pho broth and other kind of vemicelli bowl broth are so fat. It's kind of crowded in the afternoon with many student from Edmonds Community College, and most of them is Chinese, so they talk really loud and kinda sound like they are arguing with each other.
