With plenty of parking located in the strip mall, Pho 999 provides decent service with service pho at a decent price point at $12.50 for a beef combination pho. The quality of their food is inconsistent here. It seems to me that they save their unsold/left over foods for the next several days. You can tell when the broth/meat is fresh and when it isn't. I ordered phổ tài today and the broth lacked the flavor profile of an 8 hour boil. I don't taste the star anise, or cinnamon, it doesn't smell fragrant like what pho should smell like. It tastes like instant powder broth. Not even the boujie Quốc Việt pho base, straight up powder. The noodles were still raw and undercooked, or maybe it was stale I don't know. I was craving pho so bad, but too lazy to make it after a heavy night of drinking. This place made me lose my appetite. read more

Hadn't been in a while but for sure taking this place off my list of Vietnamese restaurants to go. They also charged different prices from what was on the menu. Paid cash and wanted to get out of there so I didn't catch it till I looked at my receipt in the parking lot. I had the Special Pho and egg rolls. Pho broth has descent flavor but it comes lukewarm so it gets cold fast. The meat also tastes old or poor quality. They did give me extra lemon so I guess that's something. The eggs rolls, I could completely tell had been sitting out. Asked for fresh ones and got them refried and returned to me. That one is easier to tell. They were darker, even greasier than the originals, and not even that much warmer. Prices were NOT AT ALL worth what you get compared to other places. Service... what service? Pho 999 on Sepulveda? Pho 999 is a place I grew up going to and it is always a pleasure to stop here when I come visit my parents. We always would come here as kids and would come every Sunday to have Sunday dinner with the family. The best part here are the eggrolls, #1, the housemade lemonade. Service here is always great and has improved over the years so I have nothing to complain here. read more

I've been coming here for years and it's always tasted the same, same owner(s) this one is my favorite location. I've been to all the other Pho 999s. Service good most of the time. Pho is always the way to go when it's a rainy day. I treated my family out for a hot bowl of Pho for dinner. They recommended going here at Pho 999 since it's their favorite Pho restaurant and i've yet to try it since. There's a large parking structure. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and very busy. Nevertheless, we were seated immediately (party of five). They had boba which was neat and got myself a thai tea with boba. It tasted like any other boba you'd get from Asian restaurants that don't specialize in boba, just to have it in the menu. It was good though. I ordered seafood food shrimp and fish balls but it was my fault for not reading the menu correctly because i hadn't realized i ordered glass noodles, which i'm not a fan of. So i was kinda bummed out because the noodles is literally the whole bowl. I did try some of my boyfriends bowl, which was the beef broth and it was good. The service was fantastic and everyone was really kind and fast. It's not a bad place, it was just not for me. read more

i went to the restaurant without seeing all the crazy reviews from yelp the place was PACKED! but we were sat quickly by one of the staff. don't expect a pretty and an "instagrammable" place, this is your local asian food spot, the place looks messy but this is when (imo) the food will slap. i love pho and my bf told me he didn't like viet food but was willing to try the same one as me. we both ordered the n15 (rare steak pho i think) and the service was quick! 3min later our drinks came, 5min later the broth and other ingredients to the pho came, and 9min later our pho bowl had arrived! the old gentleman that served us had a nice smile. there was a little language barrier when trying to order but nothing that couldn't be worked on. i really liked the pho and so did my bf, he said "this is actually really good" (hes not easily impressed and didn't like pho until then). the price was good, im used to paying $20 for pho and the size of the meal was good (enough to feed us and enough to not leave anything behind). im pretty sure that other's experiences are valid but for a first time visitor, this was nice lol read more

This is absolutely the best Vietnamese restaurant I've come across and visit at least 2 but often more times a month. They have a lot of options, if you like soup I recommend the Pho Ga, their Bun's are pretty good and I like #56 (beef and shrimp). I have yet to try a better spring roll, they are larger than every other placed I've been to, have lettuce, basil and greens inside and come with a peanut sauce. They also have a nice selection of boba and iced coffe. The service is great, they are pretty quick, in fact your soup will often arrive before your drinks and it's all ready to go. They have some TV's on the wall and they have renovated various area of the seating area which is nice to see them invest in over time. Quick Tip: they are generally pretty busy but on rainy or cold days they get extra busy, so be prepared for a wait but it's generally pretty fast and (for me) it's worth it. read more

I am currently going through a very rough patch that started the end of 2018, I'm still going through it but what Gloria Gaynor sang "I Will Survive". I love Pho!!! I think that if I was stranded on an island and had to pick a meal of my choice, it would definitely be Pho. What's not to like? Rice noodles, flavorful broth, lots of fresh veggies and herbs and delicious lean animal protein. so delicious and filling and COMFORTING!! I got a small Pho with meatballs, tripe and tendon and with spring rolls. I went there around 9:30am and it was 55 degrees outside and to have that piping hot bowl of soup placed in front of you is wonderful. This place does not skimp on portions, I love food and a small bowl fills me up. The pho and food here is really good and I wish I could give it a 5 however due to what I sense to be some dishonesty I had to give them a lower score. I must say always check your receipt when you pay!!! 2 times in a row I went here and they tried to add an unknown item that was $11.95 to my check. I called this out both times. Both times they admitted the mistake when I called it out but non the less I think it's shady that this happened 2 times in a row on different days a few weeks apart. In both cases the transactions were done super quickly and they swiped my card then gave me a cash refund when I insisted on an itemized receipt. The first time I went to this restaurant it was very good. The customer service was great and the chicken pho was delicious. I returned today December 29, 2023 at 9:20 PM requesting an order of chicken pho to go and I was told that they were closed, although it states they are open until 930 and I tried to call in my order while I was on my way from approximately 9:10 PM and they did not answer the phone. I have to admit that I was filled with disappointment. I know people want to go home early because it's almost New Year's Eve however, tomorrow's my birthday and I think they could've taken five more minutes to make me a bowl of soup while the other people finished eating in the restaurant so as a business, I think that you can do better, and I hope that you do better for the new year , because I really like your food and I don't want to have to find another place. read more

This review is for the owner. I have eaten here many times, maybe over 50 times. This is my recommendation. Please read. 1. Every time I buy the Pho, and eat here. There is too much noodle, and less meat, or there is less noodle and more meat. You should weigh how much noodle and how much meat you serve in each dish. Because every time it is different. And it's frustrating. If you weigh it, the dish will be the same every time someone eats at the restaurant. This is VERY IMPORTANT. you need to figure this out. This is a must. I want the same quantity of noodle and meat each time. You need to do this. 2. When I eat here, sometimes the pho is warm, sometimes it is hot, sometimes it's very hot. And this is a problem because when you add the vegetables it will cool down the soup. MAKE SURE THE PHO IS HOT. It's very important. 3. If 4 people order Pho, give each person their own vegetables. One plate or 2 plates is not enough. Each person should have their own plate of vegetables. 4. When you order water, nobody refills the water. If you do not want to refill the water cups, give people a pitcher of water so we don't have to bother you. It makes it easier for both of us. I highly recommend these tips. read more
