I've been here a couple of times now so feel like it's time to give a review. We always stop in when we're in the area because 1) it's quick 2) it's reasonably priced and 3) they're friendly. In my experience, most restaurants have at least 2 of these, but kinda rarely all 3 so this place is a gem to me. I couldn't tell you what's on their menu or what to order because I religiously order bun bo hue at any given chance. But my husband and kids always seem happy with their food, so there's that! I also always make sure to order thai tea or sugar cane juice here as a treat, and am always happy with it. The sugarcane especially is so refreshing on hot days. Pretty decent size Vietnamese restaurant in Citrus Heights, nestled along the malls, along Greenback road. I was quite surprised by the efficiency and well coordinated staff. But I usually don't care about the schematics, I'm here for the food. The pho was aromatic with the flavors of star anise, white peppers and bone broth simmered in hot pot for the people to enjoy. I ordered beef chow Fung, Vietnameseg, charro broiled, pork sandwich beef stew with baguette .. I must say the beef chow Fong what is quite different, but it was a good nice portion and tasted wonderful .. you must give it a try.. We have tried a lot of items on the menu and so far my favorites are the pho #1, taro smoothie with boba, bun Bo hue, and chicken banh mi. Usually this place is great. This last time, I ordered takeout from yelp. I ordered two pork banh mi and bun thit nuong with an extra fish sauce on the side via grub hub. Upon walking into the establishment, there was a rude old man working in front of the front desk. He asks me what I want. One of the workers approaches me and begins to greet me, the rude old man waves him away and he leaves instead of saying anything more I say I ordered online, and he asks my name, I tell him my name. He places the bag on the counter and says nothing. I just take the bag and walk out. They adjusted my order for the extra fish sauce and never have before. The soup was not pho and I apologize for not remembering the name but it was soooo good with lemongrass and the right amount of spicy. I asked for less spicy and loved that it had a lot of beef and pork in it. Now let's talk about their Vietnamese coffee! All jokes aside this coffee will wake anybody up. Is strong but really good, you can always ask for extra condensed milk and I suggest letting the ice melt a bit to help with the strong taste. I love coffee and it didn't bother me. The rare beef was a bit dry and chewy for my taste though. Service was a bit slow considering some people who came right before us were eating for sometime before we got our food.
