Pretty good pretty good pho. We (husband, kids, and me) had to go to San Leandro to rescue a puppy, so we decided to take this opportunity to try a restaurant in San Leandro after I finished work. I haven't been to San Leandro really, so I messaged a coworker for some recommendations nearby the place we were going to rescue the puppy. He recommended Pho An Hoa, and we weren't disappointed. My daughter loves pho after all! We got our usual pho restaurant stuff - 3 different phos, a pork chop dish, and the fried rolls. The pho bowls were a generous size and we were happy with the amounts. My daughter enjoyed her usual chicken pho. The husband enjoyed his tai (steak) pho, and I decided to try one of their seafood phos and it was pretty good as well. My son liked the pork chops (he doesn't really like pho unfortunately, but I hope he will when he's older). Everything had good flavor without it going overboard for the most part. The pho was really good, but my son said he liked the pork chops from the other spot we normally go to. He was the only one that didn't finish his food, so we took a small box to go. The egg rolls were alright. I don't remember them too much, so I guess I didn't dislike them or really enjoyed them. We'd go back here if we were in the area, but wouldn't go out of our way to dine here again. Pho An Hoa seemed really popular with to go orders too. Solid pho spot! read more

My go to local pho place -- it's so delicious and healthy. I genuinely love coming here to dine in or get take out to eat at home. I get the egg rolls, chicken pho and Thai tea with boba and it hits the spot everytime. Also, I recently found out about the Joes pho scandal where they were harassing there employees and overworking them. This place is a better business to support that isn't involved in any illicit situations like that. 10/10 recommend read more

This is by far, well to myself at least, not pho. When the bowl is brought out to the table, it looks good. But looks can be deceiving! The broth has no characteristics of a pho broth at all. It resembles the mixture of beef bullion and water mixed together to a boil. Even the chili oil is prepackaged and taste like Tapatio which would definitely ruin the broth even further. Came here on the recommendation of a friend. I ordered the grilled beef and egg roll vermicelli and split some shrimp spring rolls. The portion sizes were great. Large spring rolls although I think the peanut sauce was a little less flavorful. The vermicelli bowl was great. Very good beef and egg rolls. The service was also speedy and the operator seemed very friendly. I ended up ordering a strawberry and raspberry tea with chia seeds to go cause my friend's drink looked great. The menu was large but not overwhelming. They had a ton of drinks and desserts so I would recommend going for that even if you're not getting a main meal. Went here to get some pho to have something warm in my stomach. Was greeted by one of the workers and was told it's open seating and we can sit where ever we liked. After picking a table another worker brought us the menu and water. The place is very spacious so I didn't feel cramped. After a few minutes the worker came back and took our order. I order the pho dac biet and they only have 2 sizes, Large and XL, so the portions are quite generous. The food came out quick. Quality of the food was decent, it had a sweetness to the broth I never tasted before, but it was fine. I wouldn't mine coming back to try other dishes on their menu. I've been faithfully coming to this spot since 2018, I've tried other spots but they don't ever compare to this spot. Always good customer and quick service, I've brought friends/family here and we've never had issues. The broths are always flavorful, the rolls are always crispy and delicious, I also love getting their garlic noodles with shrimp! They've recently re-added the Mango panna cotta, it was so delicious. It's been years since we were here last. We walked in and grabbed a table. Server came over and dropped off a couple glasses of water. Another server came over to take our order. I asked for menus and she pointed at the VR Code on the table top. Duh! She came back and took our order. I got 10a Assorted Beef with Rice Noodles. She got 58a Seafood with Fish Cakes. We both felt that the soups were very sweet and somewhat salty at the same time rather than being super beefy or chickeny. While I had all the advertised bits and pieces that I expected, there was very little of any one ingredient other than noodles. On hers, the fish cakes were very firm. My bowl of pho was ok. Went out with my family and bought 2 xl bowl of soup and 2 kids noodle and soup plain 1 side of rice and a side of pickled onion and 2 drinks and I felt it was very pricey! I paid $100 just for that I felt like It was overpriced! My kids didn't even get a whole meal only side bowl of noodles and broth. Like they coulda just had some of mine . I will say that despite the initial attentiveness and speed, our order took forever to come out. We got an avocado smoothie with boba that was almost finished by the time the food came out. The waiter apologized (without us having to ever complain/ask about the food) for how long it took for the food to come out and stated that they were making everything from scratch. Without us having to address the issue, I instantly felt better knowing that the staff was aware of the issue! The food itself had large portions but was not anything special. My friemd ordered a grilled pork eggroll vermicelli bowl and I got the Mi Xao Mem Thap Cam which I was not the biggest fan of. It didn't satisfy what I was hoping to get out of the dish. Came here for the first time. Pretty nice place, they have a very big area for outdoor dining. We had shredded pork rolls for appetizer, then pho and the combo fried egg noodle dish. The rolls were brought out last. The pho broth was good, but the rare meat was chewy. The combo fried noodles was just so so, not enough sauce. The rolls had too much vermicelli noodles to make them look bigger. They seemed to have good business, dining in and take out orders. read more

Unacceptable service today: 1) I'm a regular. Normally when I walk in the waiter would instruct us where to sit. Not this time. The waiter noticed my party of 3 and said nothing, despite a couple of tables available. So I asked for a table, and he said "no table that's why I'm looking around for one" as he rudely gestures with his head left and right. I figured it's COVID, so maybe it was intentional that we can't be seated despite there being tables available. So by then 5 mins passed and I asked "how about outside?" and he agreed. I was annoyed because he could have recommended this from the beginning. 2) We sat down, scanned the QR code on my phone, and was ready to order within minutes but the guy never came back to take our order. 10 minutes in, we saw another group came and the waiter instructed them to sit outside and took their order immediately. I waved to the waiter, but he never once glanced our direction. Fine. Maybe he needed to handle something urgent. In a couple of mins, the other group was served their food and meanwhile we still haven't had a chance to ORDER. Strike two. 3) What really tipped me off is this, and I see this happen in a lot of places -- priorities. Instead of coming back and checking up on customers, the waiter INSTEAD thinks it's more important to bus tables and walk around aimlessly. Now I really want to go up there, but in my apparent livid state, I don't want to cause a scene...the last thing I need is for them to spit on my food. So we left. I doubt they'll be affected by this review because they do make a really mean pho. For now, I'm taking my business elsewhere since this is no way to treat a customer -- a regular at that. Reminds me of my favorite local internet provider that treat new customers better than existing customers by always giving better promo rates for new customers and squat for loyal customers. And at some point, you just end up dealing with it. I probably should have ordered to go. There are better pho alternatives where you're not treated so poorly and the difference is acceptable enough considering the service experience. Joe's Pho comes to mind... read more

My sister introduced me to this place , we got the shrimp sate, with strawberry raspberry tea , and we shared the garlic fried rice , everything was amazing , the broth in that shrimp sate needs an award , it had such a good rich flavor , I will definitely be returning the service was fast , and the setting was typical of what you would expect from a pho restaurant. read more

The Tofu house was closed for some reason, and Jasmine only had white rice and steamed vegetables :/ I walked down to this place and ordered the clay hot pot. Then while I was waiting, I read the recent reviews and started doubting my choice for this restaurant, and lowered my expectations. The intention of this review is to communicate valuable feedback to the owner for them to remind staff how to provide basic level of service. If the staff is aware that the order is incorrect, do not attempt to deliver the order and hope the customer does not notice. I ordered a pho in extra large size and when the staff was delivering the food, I had a hunch it was not extra large so I asked "What size is this?", the staff member quickly replied "This is a large, Ill go back to correct this now". I really dont know how to process this because I didn't disclose I ordered extra large yet he knew immediately and he had a guilty smile as he was going back to correct the order. Its not a lot of money that I would lose out on but it just felt like there was some intention of theft on his part and I am paying extra for less food.... A shrimp pork papaya salad was also ordered and the same staff member knew I wanted an extra plate. We can agree that the extra plate is intended to put food on it. Im not sure what was the goal of giving a wet plate with pieces of dirt on their was for. I had to go back up to exchange the plate.... Initial server speaks 5 languages and seated quickly because he could flex bus and order taking fluidly to get tea and seated immediately because of his skill and flexibility!! Broth: amazing. Added an avocado boba. Super reasonable prices for the Bay definitely would come back. There's an extensive menu i haven't looked far into yet! They open late! Especially born into a similar background, I could feel the hours they dedicated here reflected in having a quality community staple. Driving through San Leandro, I looked around close by to see what to eat. I gave Pho An Hoa a chance, since Ramen sounded good. The location is within a Plaza with other places, so there is ample parking. The restaurant is big inside, and I was nicely greeted. I went with #40, a seafood Ramen. It offered Ramen, Crab, Shrimp and veggies. Soup came apart, and it also came with Cilantro, lemon and xtra veggies. Soup was heated up well, and the Ramen was delicious. #40 was actually #1! It was a nice portion for $10, and the lunch here filled me up all day. The food is pretty good and satisfies the craving for Vietnamese flavors. I typically order the pho, but decided to try out the garlic noodles with grilled shrimp at my recent visit. I was impressed by the taste, the portion, and how quick the food was served to the table. The shrimp had a bbq charred flavor with just the right amount of seasoning on each shrimp. The garlic noodles were slathered with butter, garlic, parmesan cheese, and a sweet sauce. My guess is hoisin sauce, but I could be wrong. One thing that stood out to me was the addition of grilled onions. I thought it was a successful execution. The onions provided an extra layer of seasoning and enhanced the flavors of the dish. Additionally, my fiancé ordered the curry chicken and rice which was pretty good. I appreciate the vegetables included in the meal.
