We went with no expectations and came out happy and full. I ordered the Vit Quay and when they say "whole duck," they mean whole duck! They served it nicely cut up, with Bao buns, veggies, and the left over scraps. The Bo Luc Lac came with a pepper lime sauce, and was very delicious and flavorful. Through trial and error i've found a great pho spot again. Today we had Nikki as our server, super attentive and really nice! She took great care of us. We usually get #13 (regular raw steak pho) The pho was really flavorful per usual, even without dressing it up. Veggies were fresh and the lemons were juicy. Service was fairly quick, we didn't wait long. 10/10 The peach iced tea is buss down! 12/10 The inside is clean/organized. He brought out salty fried squid (calamari), lobster with XO sauce, abalone with Chinese greens, sweet/sour catfish soup, hot pot catfish. He also brought us the tamarin with calamondin lemonade. Nicole, the owner, has a fantastic memory. I came once for lunch and didn't return for several months due to work. When I walked in she welcomed me back and commented that it had been a while. I am open to suggestions, and Nicole recommended the pho with filet mignon and smoked pork rib. It was phenomenal! The broth was so flavorful and nuanced, and the smoked rib added an extra element, that hint of smoke to enhance but not overpower the other flavors. Amazing. By far the best pho I've ever had. It hit all the right notes for me. My 3rd visit was last week. I brought my boss for lunch. He was raised in Houston and loves the dry vermicelli with pork and fish sauce. He loved it. It passed his taste test. I went with another recommendation from Nicole - fried noodles with seafood. I'm not sure what the name was. She showed me how to add soy sauce, red wine vinegar, and chili oil to tweak it to my preference. It was very good. My favorite is still the smoky pork rib pho, but I will keep trying other items on the menu. I love how unique their menu is with all of the types of seafood dishes. Highly Recommend! Pho Ba 9 has recently become our go-to pho restaurant! We tried another place but had to come back to pho ba 9. Not just for the pho, but other authentic dishes too. The food is consistently delicious, served fresh & hot. The establishment is always clean, service is good (sometimes a little language barrier depending on who serves you, but you can tell they try!). Nicky is always so welcoming and attentive! The temperature is a little warm inside especially when eating hot soup, but we can deal with that. Haven't had a bad experience... yet! read more

We are on our 4th visit to Pho Ba 9 and am very reluctant on writing a review because we don't want it to become a sensation, that is very deserving. At entering, you notice the cleanliness and the beautiful decor. If you go with a larger group, they can certainly accomodate with a large round table, that had a lazy susan? I read all these 5 star reviews, and my wife, sons, and I decided to try, and we were disappointed. I had the Pho brisket and steak, and there were 2 pieces of meat in this giant bowl of broth and veggies and noodles. Everything was bland, I don't complain when it's even mediocre. This was basically hot water with stuff. I even brought it up to "the manager" as we paid, He didn't say a word, I wasnt expecting free or even discounted because we ate, but every dish we ordered was either bland or little seasoning. Service was non-existent because it took 30 minutes for lunchtime crowd, and my sons had can soda, which they tried to sip waiting for food. No offer of another drink "thanks for waiting". I asked the manager after 20 minutes, and people after us were getting theirs first. "It's coming soon," he just went back and stood at the podium. We ordered and then the starter dish came to the table in maybe 60 seconds. So we thought certainly it wasn't ours, also because it was slightly wrong. It was ours though, so we kept it. The pho came out almost immediately after. Less than 5 minutes for everything probably. It felt like the, I'm assuming, owner was only concerned about speed, he was running around everywhere. If he had just slowed down a bit, maybe the order would have been right. I overheard the table next to us tell him part of their order was also wrong. Definitely recommend the live scallops dish you can put rice in the shell with the residual juice and eat it that way. Very curious to try the other live seafood options. This place came highly recommended by a friend of mine so we decided to give it a try. There were 6 of us who ordered several entrees and decided to have them served family style. The owner of the restaurant catered to us and set the dishes in the middle of our table, each entree with a serving spoon. We went with number 20 and 23 which were the egg noodles served with pork and the other had seafood. Both entrees were dry with broth on the side. We also ordered their rice noodle with pork and shrimp, pad Thai, sesame chicken and fried rice. Every dish ordered were all delicious. The serving sizes were ample and we had enough for a couple of to go containers. The service was quick, the restaurant was clean and the owners was extremely accommodating and friendly.
