Don't do it. Never been the type to review a restaurant but life is too expensive in general to waste your lunch break here. From appetizers to Entrees, everything was just sub par at best. Way to much filler in everything. The broth from pho was definitely made before hand and reheated. The amount of onions used to give volume to everything was enough to make a Grown Man with a full beard cry. Don't do it. Save yourself your hard earned money. Service was great. They immediately seated our party of 5. Our table was wiggling so they were able to adjust the height right away. The food was served right away. They were very fast. I ordered beef Banh Mi. It was really good. The crunch of the toasted bread and the tender meat of the beef were a great combination. It was delicious. Came in on my lunch break so I was already on fairly limited time. It wasn't busy when I got there, maybe 4 tables filled. I was seated right away and given a menu. Minutes after I sat down people started flowing in. Some people were for takeout and some for dine in. I sat at my table for 15 minutes before I left. No one came up to take my order or even offer water. People behind me started complaining to the server that their order hadn't been taken. Pretty sure they were there for at least 7-10 minutes as they walked in after me... maybe it was just bad timing.... I was really excited to try this place as it's close to my work and considering how many people were coming in I'm assuming it tastes pretty good. Maybe I'll give it another shot maybe I won't. Either way, 1 Star for now Update: Gave it another shot. This place gets really busy during the week at lunchtime, so try to come earlier or later to beat the crowd. The food is great! Average in taste according to my taste buds. San Diego pho is way better. Came here after snowboarding while driving to hotel in Rancho Cucamonga. They give nice portions here for the pho but the ratio of meat to noodles is not consistent I got a large rare steak and I got about 8-9 pieces of steak and a ton of noodles. The broth is lacking flavor it really needed the lime and plum sauce and sriracha. The spring rolls were good but the peanut dipping sauce was way to watery for me. The vermicelli and beef was my favorite thing I tasted which the wife got. Service was slow and it was pretty empty in there. read more

I have been here a couple times and the food is good but the service stinks. Last month I went with my mom. We ordered and my pho came out 10 minutes before hers. They brought her boba and totally forgot mine. Getting a refill on soda was almost impossible. I had to flag the waitress down twice. Today was almost the same thing but they forgot to bring out our spring roll appetizer. I ordered a Diet Coke only to find out 5 minutes later they were out of that. I then ordered green tea and was brought black tea. Mo one ever came by for a refill. I asked for extra lime and cilantro. That never came. What really bothered me was that the place was almost empty and all the workers were eating and "hanging out". I would have more sympathy if they were busy because I understand how restaurants can get hectic. Bottom line - good food not so good service . read more

I don't know why this place doesn't have higher ratings. My only complaint was that we picked this place because our hotel- Holiday Inn, specified they (the restaurant) would discount 10% of the bill if we mention we were staying at said hotel. They said they no longer honor that discount. Poor communication between businesses. However, this place is conveniently located by all the hotels and the Ontario mall. We could have made it walking in 5 minutes from our hotel but it was too dang hot outside. We waited less than 10 minutes to be seated, we didn't mind the busyness since we showed up right at lunch hour. Everyone was nice and helpful (we had three different people attending us). Azns love their noodles!!! Whether it be the Hawaiian saimin or the Filipino sotanghon (chicken soup w/ vermicelli noodles and flavored w/ garlic and ginger), I grew up on in Hawaii. Or the Chinese won ton mein, Japanese ramen, Korean jjambbong or Vietnamese pho, I learned about as I was introduced to different cultures: I love my noodles too!!! I stopped by here because it was close to work and my stomach was still aching from eating bad seafood at The Bucket Crab and Crawfish in DT Ontario (AVOID THAT PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!). Pho Bambu is new, and is located on the corner of 4th and Milliken in Rancho Cucamonga, diagonally across from Ontario Mills Mall. BTW, they were offering a free soda or Thai Iced Tea (?) as a promotion. I wanted something basic so I went with the Pho Ga L'on (large chicken pho) - $7.95. The portion was very large and the broth was very good. The portion was much larger, and the broth was much stronger compared to the recently reviewed Pho Tasia in Irvine. There were a lot of noodles, a fair amount of meat and plenty of fresh bean sprouts, basil and peppers to adjust the flavor to your liking. The only downside was one of my pieces of chicken was not trimmed properly and it was inedible: 3 Stars. The ambiance is very nice. PB is not your dirty place you would experience in Westminster or Garden Grove (where the pho is generally excellent). There is a small waterfall when you walk in and the tables are new and clean: 4 Stars. The service was also very good. The waiter came quickly, my order came out promptly and someone was constantly checking on me: 4 Stars. 3.5 Stars overall. I still have to try the higher rated Pho Ha in the area (recommended by my Vietnamese co-worker). However, I wouldn't mind stopping by and having a co'm or bun dish. PB is close, the prices are reasonable and the service is very good. read more

I confess, I am a chronic drooler. I think there is no way I can avoid making my mouth water as I describe my first meal here. Vietnamese food always does that to me. I love the fresh, raw vegetables most of all. They seem to incorporate bean sprouts, crunchy romaine, mint leaves, basil leaves, finely shredded carrot and mild shredded radish into most everything. Who am I to argue with that?. Then there are the grilled meats and/or shrimp that have a caramelized glaze, the vermicelli noodles, the lime and fish sauce, and the grand finale, the chopped toasted peanuts. Ohhhhh. I seem to never get past the #43. That kind of combo always calls my name, regardless of the restaurant. Here, they start with juicy slices of Asian bbq'd pork and add all the goodies I mentioned. But then! They dare to add sides, small, bite sized morsels they call "shrimp paste wrapped a thin bean curd", a rather nasty description for something that is the most delicate, richly seasoned, ground shrimp and mushroom dumpling. And...a most delectable treat, a crispy eggroll with a meaty mushroomy filling. I don't know which is better...they both make a grown woman cry (dabs eyes...mops chin). IMHO, #43 is so good. Now Mr. B, on the other hand, always orders the Pho with thinly sliced beef. He's just as inflexible as I am. And he throws in all those veggie goodies into his broth, and maybe some jalapeño and spicy oil so he can burn the insides of his mouth. Arrrrgh. Not for me. But fine...I let him. I have slipped into wordless oblivion as I painstakingly shovel that #43 into my mouth. He says it was good here. I wouldn't know. Afterthought..... I know I am a chile wuss. But ...hah, hah... I do consume copious amounts of that sweetened fish sauce and lime juice. Do you? My other weakness are the Che desserts (reminds me of Filipino halo halo), an icy concoction of shaved ice, sweet red bean and mung bean, young coconut, tapioca, coconut milk, and green pandan jelly. They have one here that is pretty good. I miss the bigger chunks of coconut, but for a mere $3 for a large soda glass size filled to the top, and some extra insulin tonight, I had to indulge. So the people at the front are friendly, the decor is simple, clean flavors for food. There aren't a terrible amount of vegetarian dishes tho unfortunately unlike other places though. I had gotten the veggie chow fun. It came with tofu and a good amount of veggies. Everything was cooked well, it came out piping hot. My only really complaint would be that it was drenched in the brown sauce. Made things very slippery and hard to grasp with chop sticks. I'd suggest if you do get this, use a fork. Other than that not the best, but good for the price. Well balanced food for what I got though I don't know if I would return again considering the lack of vegetarian options. Service was better than most Vietnamese places, friendly and prompt. Very attentive host. There are four of us and we all decided to get the Pho Dac Biet - combination bowl. Highly get the regular bowl because they are very generous with their portion. Lots of meats and noodles. We got two large and two regular bowls and none of us was able to finish our bowl. They come around to fill up water maybe once and are not very friendly when you're first placing your order. Came here once with my two year old daughter. The servers do not know how to cater to a customer with a child. I ordered one bowl of pho and some spring rolls. The server did not know i needed to make a separate bowl for a child to split. I ask for a small bowl for the kid. Then the waiter does not bring a fork. Of course my kid starts making a mess. Unfortunately. The servers there saw me go up to the counter to get napkins and did not even offer to give me some. I had to ask them for it. Then they saw me wipe up the floor and they just. I've come here multiple times after the incident (I was actually having lunch the day the inspectors came) with no issues. Came today, their egg noodles seemed to have mold on them (I thought it was one of the ingredients but it was actually stuck on the noodles). Called to make a phone order and a guy named Henry failed to repeat my order and hang up on me when I'm not even finished talking. I called back and asked if he just hang up on me and guess what, he did it again. Called again to ask for a manager or someone else I can speak to, his exact words are " no one is here, talk to me" . Didn't apologize or even try to understand the situation. And this is not the first time we experience bad service from them, last time we were ordering to go in store and the girl their asked my husband to put back a chair like she is the boss of us. I mean seriously? Why don't you ask me to clean your floor and do the dishes? This used to be our favorite pho place in Rancho and after this happened I'm never going back there. So me and my family all were craving some Vietnamese Food and luckily there was a place close by. We walked in the place truly looked amazing! There was music playing and they even had the tv's on playing my mom's fav show Law&Order. When we sat down our waiter was nice and polite. We order our food and then 10 minutes later it was already out. We all ate the food and to say it was good, is an understatement as it was amazing. There Egg Rolls were really good, their filet fish was also really good. But show stealer was the sauce that came with the fish. It truly was delicious and it pairs great with the fish and egg roll. Alright, first things first. The pho itself is nothing to gloat about. There are better flavored broths around the area. You are doing yourself a disservice if this is the your first time trying pho. Instead grab yourself the Bahn Mi (Vietnamese french bread sandwiches). Either pork, chicken or beef shall do, but my favorite is the pork that is bbq grilled similar to what you will find on skewers. The bread is soft with pickled carrots and dikkon on the side if you do wish to add into it sandwich. Also order a side of the house egg rolls which are great on their own. It comes with 5 large pieces, some lettuce to wrap the around the egg rolls and dipping sauce made with fish sauce. If you prefer something a little healthier, you can't go wrong with spring rolls includes hoisin/peanut sauce. Another recommendation is the duck fried rice. read more
