Anybody selling pho and saimin are making record sales this week. Based on Yelp reviews we came to try this out. Didn't realize it's in the same strip mall as Suzie's dildo shop. So that set the tone... This restaurant is a hole in the wall-dirty, grungy & loud. When I asked if they could wipe the table the guy let the dirty vegetables fly all over onto my lap and still had bean sprouts on the table from the last customer. Looking around the place, I noticed a huge pile of empty cardboard boxes near the front door. Like just haphazardly thrown into a big messy pile over months or years. Like over 6 feet high by 10 feet wide. You just know creatures must live in there. I tried not to get grossed out imagining what goes on when the lights are off. Ordered a Thai iced tea for $5.25 which arrived halfway through our meal. The regular size bowl of pho is ok if you're not hungry. Most other places we get a much larger bowl that we can't even finish. After we came home we were still hungry. Overall the food was ok, but it was kinda ghetto here and I won't be returning. $32 for 2 phos and 1 drink. read more

Summer rolls are made fresh to order and they have a good amount of filling. Peanut sauce is subtle but not bland. Spring rolls are delicious but i think they may be store bought. They do give a lot of vegetables for take out which i really like Thai Tea - standard that you would find at most places. I think they increased their prices because we got 2 orders of summer rolls, 2 orders of spring rolls and a thai tea and it came out to $42. Their food is good but i think for the price there are a lot of better places to go. Customer service is a hit or miss here and their pho is pretty standard. read more

This is the place head to when you're in a frickin hurry for Pho. And, there's usually parking in front of the lingerie shop. The fluorescent light ambiance, gouged particle board tables, mismatched hotel banquet chairs and dusty wall hangings complete the picture. Don't glare at the faded color xerox pics of boba tea drinks, the crowded host bar, linger in the shared toilet, or glimpse the kitchen too long...Your mind will burst and you might walk out. Simple pictorial menu even a caveman can understand. All utensils and condiments are already stacked conveniently on each table for the rush of 20 patrons Once you order the soup, it magically arrives within 10 minutes, along with bean sprouts, a bush of basil, culantro, and sliced jalapeños. Regular is ample. Jumbo is for anyone over 175lbs. Spring rolls are nice, crispy, flavorful and wanting for 2 more with drier lettuce. Combo pho is serviceable. Broth is kiddie pool deep. Bbq ribs were nicely marinated and tasty Honeydew Boba was a smoothie with grass jelly tapioca. Thai iced coffee was okay but not too deep. Service was very quick and friendly Hint 1: BYOB. Renovated with new owners. So nice and clean inside compared to how dingy it was before. The broth taste similar or the same (good&flavorful) The quality of the steak seemed better though. I got the large meatball and my boyfriend got the medium combo and shared his steak with me. We got an order of spring rolls and ended up having to get another order because my 3 year old really liked it. The spring rolls were better than how it was in the past. They did have a better menu. Pho Bistro in Waipahu is one of the OG pho places amongst the many pho restaurants in Waipahu, I've been hitting up the spot since 2010 or so, and I can say their quality is always top notch. They're broth is nice and fragrant, not too herby, not too meaty and not too oily. Pho is always complimented with fresh veggies. We also order their crunchy spring rolls, me and my bf usually get one order each since it's so delicious! Food is always great here, but the servers usually change. If you get the old tata taking your order, I suggest pointing at the menu photos/items or speaking up a bit, he doesn't have the best hearing and brought out a completely different dish once. Favorite place to get pho but their prices have gone up! I know inflation does damage but it was $9.50 for spring rolls but I go to two other pho places in the area and they sell them for $7.50 and $8.99. And everyone's taste the same. And I was very sad when to see that the portion of my vermicelli was so small and only 4 slices of cucumber. The regular pho entree has also gone up in price in recent years and the circumference of the bowl is the size of my feminine hand. Hidden gem in Waipahu!!! My auntie who is super Vietnamese took me and my friends out to eat here, stating that it is her favorite restaurant in town. I was pleasantly surprised by how good and clean the pho was. We also had egg rolls, which were very crispy and delicious. All of that was accompanied with a yummy avocado smoothie. Still on the search for local eateries in our new neighborhood, and we tried out this place on suggestion from a friend. PB is located in a small shopping mall, but there's plenty of parking. We walked in around dinnertime, but there was no wait - the place did start to fill up when we started eating, but there were plenty of seats available. The menu is quite simple, which I liked because sometimes a Cheesecake Factory typa menu is overwhelming... am I right? We ordered: ++ House Special Combo Pho ++ Rare Steak Pho ++ Plain Pho I was a little disappointed in the amount of meat... like 5 quarter sized pieces were dropped into the regular sized Rare Steak Pho. That's so manini! What I did like was the flavorful broth. It's no AVF broth, but it's pretty damn close... and I don't have to go all the way back into town to satisfy my pho cravings. I also ordered Thai Iced Tea... which was from a can... so it wasn't freshly made. But the service... was EXCELLENT. Just the right amount of interaction and a positive exchange. I used to eat here all the time before I moved to a different side of the island. I moved back and remembered this place. Their portions have gotten way smaller, their prices have gone up. Now for the problem. I ordered two small rare steaks and spring rolls. Spring rolls came out room temp, not even warm. We were the only ones in there at the time and I didn't even complain about that. I had like ten bites of noodles before it was gone. I eat a lot of noods, so I figured I was just being a pig. I went to pay my bill and as I was handing over my money, I realized my total was $56. I asked why is it so much, and he took my $60, and put it in the register. I asked for a receipt and noticed I was being charged for another bowl. THIS MAN ALL OF A SUDDEN STOPS ANSWERING ME, saying he doesn't speak English. So I have another man come over and readjust my bill. New total is about $40. He hands me my change and tries to short change me, only giving me $15. I ask where's the rest and NOW HE ALL OF A SUDDEN DOESNT SPEAK ENGLISH. I told my friends about it and one of my friends who lives in Waipahu said they did the same thing to her. HIGHLY SUGGEST GOING TO ANOTHER PLACE. If you go here, check your bill and make sure you're willing to give away what you handover cause you might not get it back. My husband asked where is Pho Bistro? as he was driving. I remember reading Yelp tips, that it is near the Suzie store. ( not that I know about the Suzie store......) I always pass by the Suzie store on my way to Seafood City. Yes, Its in the same little mall as Suzie, - The reviews are right! but when I got to the the little mall, I still don't see Pho Bistro. Its in the corner, hidden between other shops. The video did help me, everything was exactly as the video. I knew what to expect when I walked in. The restaurant is small but very clean. I see green ( chopsticks, soup spoon) I'm already a fan! My favorite color is green!! The staff was very friendly!! took our order, everything exactly came out as requested. esp. the steam bean sprouts. - ( many rest. miss this when I request steam bean sprouts) I like that the sauce is so neatly organized in its own container. Our orders: 2 large Chicken/Meatballs Pho @ 9.99 The portions are huge!! They don't skimp on noodles, chicken, meatballs, & veggies. The broth is so refreshing, I really enjoy their broth. The noodles, are cooked just right. ( al dente) I can't stand over-cooked noodles. We enjoyed our pho. ( me, my son, & husband) I shared my pho with my son, & it was more than enough!! We also got a spring roll appetizer, @ 5.50 ( very reasonable) It comes with 3 spring rolls, cut in half, with all the fixings. Lettuce, vermicelli, cucumber, & pickled veggies. This goes so well together, I don't recall pickled veggies at other restaurants. I love that the vermicelli is al dente as well and the vermicelli noodles is a thin noodle. I love that!! It was the perfect type of noodles to eat with spring rolls. Over-all, I'm so happy I finally checked out Pho Bistro, cured my pho cravings. & having that ube ice cream was a bonus after Pho. I stopped by for lunch last week. It was a perfect day for noodle soup as the weather was chilly and it was raining that day. Several others had the same idea as the place was filled and there were several of us "solo" diners. I ordered the seafood pho and it was delicious. I love my pho with lots of Thai basil and sprouts. I also love the hoisin and hot sauces. The servers were very friendly despite the busyness of the restaurant. I left there feeling very satisfied. This is our favorite Pho restaurant in Waipahu. The food and service is great! We like to go on Saturday or Sunday for early dinner. I order the Regular Pho with Chicken and my BF gets the Kalbi plate and Regular Pho with Brisket Fat. Sometimes we order the spring rolls. Seating: When we enter we sit anywhere is open, unless theres a reserved sign. We like to sit at the back because it's nearest to A.C. and its cold. Parking: Lot is shared with Suzies, a mini liquor store, Kuni's Bar and Restaurant, a smoke/e-cig shop, a drive inn(forgot the name and another food restaurant (like a plate lunch place). Watch for potholes in lot, especially if u have lowered suspension on your vehicle. We usually park nearest to Farrington Hwy, but some stalls are not clearly marked (paint faded). Food: They have been consistently delicious. The regular size PHO is just right, unless your really hungry, get the large. Dessert: Tapioca in different flavors. Didnt know about this place till our friend told us. They know we love pho & so do they. They said it was good. The parking area is really small & so his the place. Im in a wheelchair so we took the closest to the door & it wasnt busy at all. When we got there we werent even greeted or anything. All they did was help us get seated. If you know me i love to be greeted so i have good vibes. The soup was ok. I got the meat ball with beef outside. When i got my bowl & side meat, the sode meat was so small & i had about 4-5 small triangles, the meatballs i got 1 whole & 4 HALF of a meatball. So that was weird like are you trying to rip us off even though your large is $11 something. So for me im a sucker for the chili oil paste. The one they had was like crispy & not spicy at all & that's what completes my soup. The one i like its more of a paste then crispy. I wouldnt come back here again. I'll stick to my usual. read more

Perhaps it's due to the pandemic; however, it's way off compared to nearby eateries. It explains why they were so slow on a Saturday night compared to their competition. My golf buddy and I have been eating at this place for over 2 years or more. We really enjoyed eating here and believe it or not, my favorite dish is just the plain Pho! Nothing in it, just your basic Pho! My reason is, their broth!! It's so clean and very tasty! I've had other dishes and there all delicious but, I'm so into their plain Pho! We went again many more times and my buddy and I always take turn treating each other, since we would generally eat there every week. Since he never mentioned about the bill to me, I never mentioned if he felt the price went up. (Yes, they do have prices in their menu but, I've always take it for granted that they'll charge me accordingly) Last week my buddy treated me and while he was paying for our meal, he was arguing with that elderly waiter for overcharging our meal! Later while we were outside, I asked him "what happened?" He said, "that guy been overcharging us for awhile!" We order small pho and he charged us for large! My buddy said, "this is not the first time, he's done this!" So, I mentioned to him, that I thought I was paying more but I didn't really investigate into it cause I'm thinking you really like eating here and so do I. So when my friend caught this guy cheating us, the waiter argued that we ordered Large but, when you look at our bowl at our table, it was small! And still he was upset with us, he didn't apologize, in fact he didn't know how to undo the credit card charges, so we had to pay cash so that the waiter could void that charge! Sadly, we will no longer be going there. Heads up patrons, beware and just review your bill when you have that elderly waiter. I wonder how big their regular bowl would be if we ordered out. $5.50 for 3 pieces of spring roll, 2 lettuce and and one serving of rice noodles. Lemon Grass Chicken..hmmm how do I start. For 9.99, rice with bits of lemon grass chicken sprinklef all over. I think it was just ONE CHICKEN THIGH cut up in pieces over rice served with bell peppers onions and jalepeno. Dont let pictures fool you. 9.75 for that was a rip off. It wasnt a special price too. The wait: Their times is wayyy off in the shop. Counter clock wrong and their wall clock was off too. While waiting, took about 20 to 30min. I dont know if that was long for pre made noodles, hot broth, 3 piece eggroll and ONE CHICKEN THIGH. SATISFACTION: A frequent? Maybe not. My bf and I visited this place for the first time tonight. We came at around 7:30 for dinner and the place was packed. Lucky for us, we came when everyone started finishing up and the wait for a table took only 2 minutes. We decided to go here because we wanted to try another pho restaurant outside of Chinatown. The hours are good here because they open at 10am and close at 9pm. Service was good too. This is what we ordered: (1) Regular size pho. I forgot the name of the pho but it was the first choice on the menu. I think it was $6.99. They have two other sizes. Anyway, the pho we ordered had briskets, beef balls, tripe and tendons, onions and green onions. The broth was pretty good. It wasn't oily unlike other places. (2) Spring rolls ($4.99) comes with 6 pieces of lettuce, skinny noodles, basil, cut up carrots and cucumber. You get three pieces of spring roll that are each cut in half. The sauce is alright. I kind of wish that it was more flavorful. (3) Pork chops ($7.99) which comes with 1 big scoop of white rice, salad and salad dressing. The salad dressing isn't anything to die for. It's the same sauce used for the spring rolls. (4) Can of Thai iced-tea ($?.??) As for the condiments, they had hoissen sauce, sugar or salt?, I think chili pepper with fish sauce, fish sauce, shoyu and these two other spicy sauces. The food was good but the reason why I gave it just three stars is because I didn't feel satisfied with the food. Don't get me wrong, it was good but the more I ate the pho, spring roll and the pork chops, the more I disliked it. There are just some establishments that pull you in from the first bite and still pull you in on the last bite, regardless of how full you are. For Pho Bistro, the food was good at the beginning but it lost its shine half way through. My bf and I couldn't even finish our order and the sizes were pretty decent.
