Above average Pho place. Started with the spring rolls which were made with shrimp and chicken: excellent. Chicken Satay: excellent chicken but no peanut sauce. Basil Fried rice, crab: poor with the rice being too dry and lacking in flavor. Chicken Pho: above average though the chicken pieces were scant. Everything I ordered was delicious!! The combination pho, spring rolls and chicken satay. Pho had a depth of amazing flavors and plenty of thin noodles. Love the condiments on the side you can add yourself such as jalepenos, basil, bean sprouts and sriracha. Chicken satay was super tender and fresh. Spring rolls were crunchy, tasty and not too oily. (Seemed homemade) And you must try the Thai iced tea....yummy....it had brown sugar and a lil cream in it. Very unique flavor of it's own. Beautiful clean decor.....contemporary yet rustic. We stopped in to see if they were open only to find out they were about 30 minutes from closing. The owner was super nice and inviting, didn't make us feel like an inconvenience at all for stopping in so close to closing. We saw this as we were driving to the beach and had to stop in. The atmosphere was very modern and inviting. We ordered the summer rolls as an appetizer and found them to be a bit disappointing. The summer rolls only had vermicelli noodles, shredded lettuce and 2 pieces of shrimp. Some fresh herbs and a few bean sprouts would have made these even better. The peanut and hoisin sauce was a bit watered down it okay. My kids like to dip their rolls in nc mm (fish sauce) so ate theirs plain. We all had ph regular bowl-- #1 top round/flank/tendon/tripe, #2 top round, #10 crabmeat and #11 seafood combo with crabmeat, green mussels & shrimp. The beef broth was very flavorful. All the bowls had a large amount of meat which was great but could have used a bit more noodle. I don't eat a lot but found that an additional 1/4 cup of noodle would have been perfect. This really hit the spot after having seafood the entire week. Service was great. They people were very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely come back and recommend this restaurant. read more

I was really excited to try this place! It was a super rainy day today and pho would've been perfect... The positive reviews were quickly ruined by their lack of customer service. We arrived close to 9:00pm and got seated about 5 minutes after. We then sat there for 20 minutes waiting for someone to come greet us and/or take our order. But it wasn't until I waved the waitress down that we were finally able to submit our order (iced waters, regular size #1 and #2). She did have an "oh shit" look on her face so that was her admitting that she forgot about us. Mind you that that waitress was taking orders from customers walking in after us for take-out as we sat there watching the time gets closer to 10pm, which is when they close on Sundays. At about 9:40pm we get our waters... at 9:56pm we still haven't gotten our food or any update!! We decided to leave. The group that was seated right before us were already done and waiting for their checks! If we had waited any longer and our food did come out, not only would we feel rushed to finish but I'm not about to sit there, already pissed off and try to enjoy my food when everyone around is cleaning up to go home... and then pay for it. It's about time a pho spot opened in Ocean City! I've been twice and both times were excellent. They offer a regular and large size but the regular was plenty of food for a hungry man. Tried the rare beef first visit and the chicken pho last time. Both were delicious and come with all the accoutrements you would expect. Cool decor for a strip mall as well. This was the first time eating here and we are glad to see some variety in OC. The food was very good. Wished there were some options for kids but otherwise we were happy with our meal. My wife and I got the large Pho with rib eye which were huge bowls. Could barely finish them. The dumplings were also very good. The interior was modern and warm, which felt out of place for OC, but that's a good thing. The service was great and the waitress was very attentive. Would like to see more options on the menu or a build-your-own which we are used to. There were only about 7 combinations to choose from. We will definitely go back and hope the menu grows a little bit with time. read more

First pho place in OC woohoo. Was excited to check out the place on our vacation. The restaurant is small but nicely decor, with the kitchen out in the open for the guests to see whats cooking. We had a party of 7 and most of us ordered Pho Special with a few appetizers. The pho was good, not exceptional but pretty good. However the rest was just blah. My first time here and I give it a three out of five stars. I had the Brisket Pho and my wife had the vegetable Pho with tofu. The vegetable Pho didn't have much taste (spice) to it and it was described as bland. My Brisket Pho had a tasty beef broth, but was very light on the brisket (I found three very small pieces of brisket). Everything was fresh and the food arrived quickly, but there needs to me more substance to the dishes. If I order brisket, there needs to be more than three tiny pieces of meat in the dish and the spices need to be more plentiful in the vegetable Pho. It's disappointing paying what I paid for beam sprouts and jalapeños in a broth. Step up your game and this restaurant could easily be five stars, but for now it's three. read more

To start off when we came in we had to wait from about 30-40 minutes before we could get a table. Not that the place was busy they just needed to actually bus the tables. After that we waited even longer to put in a order. Now one thing I can say is that yes they do bring the food out to you fast and the place looks nice while you wait (for what that is worth). Now when we got the food me and my gf were disappointed in the small amount of meat given the price. On top of that they under seasoned the broth so that I had to add lots of sriracha and hoisin sauce and the broth still didnt have much flavor it was almost like water. And the regular size is a bit small as well sense . Both of us finished our food and needed to go somewhere else to actually feel full which is a first for me when coming out of a vietnamese place. Now as far as the drinks they were good but not a redeeming factor. Overall I think this place is one of the worst pho places I have been too. It looks great inside and the food looks appealing but i have gotten pho that was half the price with twice as much meat and ten times the flavor in the broth. This is my staple restaurant in the entirety of delmarva and even beyond. This food is so phenomenal that I have to physically restrain myself from eating here more than once a week and most times I fail despite. My family and I come so often that the workers know and remember every detail of our individual orders and have the food started before we're even sat. Genuinely the sweetest and most welcoming staff. I go to college next year and even then I'll make sure to travel back here to eat as often as I can. read more

Wonderful first visit to Pho Char. To start with - a great deal of care went into the décor of this restaurant - really impressed with all of the different wall tiles and attention to detail. The service was outstanding! The food was excellent - we wanted to try everything! We each had the Vietnamese spring rolls, and then we shared the beef basil fried rice (yummy!), Hibachi beef and the beef pho! I'm an uppity DC food person and this place is pretty darn good. It is super clean (including bathroom), the staff is pleasant and attentive, and the food was delicious. We ordered the Thai basil rice with shrimp, the grilled chicken and mixed vegetables, and summer rolls--the flavors were great. This is a great spot for a casual meal that tastes good and isn't pub grub or crab cakes--sometimes you want variety. Looking forward to the next visit! read more
