I order Pho Ga which is the chicken pho. My pho broth tasted watery. I usually enjoy all of the aromas and hard work being put into the broth, but it wasn't cutting it. I rarely load up on the sriracha chili sauce. The greens and sprouts were very crisp. My husband loved his ramen. He was drinking it by the end of our meal! I guess it depends on what you order. Today was my second time there for a Vietnamese sandwich. First time I got the pork and today I got the tofu. The service is nice but their food sucks. The pork one had too much fat in it and not enough meat and my tofu had this chili sauce they put over it..... it was weird. Never had a Vietnamese sandwich like that before, obviously their not authentic. August 30, I called 4 times to pickup and no one answered. So we decided to come in. When we arrived, we were greeted, sat down and given a menu. We were given an apple juice for the baby. We then sat for 15 mins waiting to order while the server was stapling receipts. Once we were able to order, we asked what was in the ramen, being the baby has an allergy, we decided to not put the egg in. And I asked politely to not put it in there and she replied with yes ma'am with an attitude. My cousin that is also with me said well. She didn't have to say it like that. We ordered a large seafood pho a chicken ramen with no egg and chicken fried rice. When she came back after 15 more minutes she made sure to ask if there was going to be egg in the fried rice and we said yes. When our food arrived 30 minutes later I received a medium seafood pho and she said she would corrected by giving me a drink which I did not ask for and she never brought. Also, another person that came in in the midst of us waiting was a regular and she decided to help him first. I have been coming to this restaurant for more than 6 years. I don't think that anyone should be treated differently if they're a man or a regular because it seems to be they're the only ones that get served on time and properly. As for Pho in general, they're not 5 star, but I'm from OC, California where fantastic Pho is on every other corner. We've tried a lot of Pho places since moving to WA and this is the one I've settled on, by far better than any other we've tried. One criteria is must have great spring rolls and they most definitely do plus sauce is good. I don't order the plain Pho--it's not that flavorful. I always order from the "special" menu because it includes a more flavorful broth and extra vegetables in the soup but still includes all the other ingredients as well. I stick with the "chicken special", my husband does the beef/pork special. We started ordering the fried rice for my daughter and it tastes great and fresh too. Just stopped in after a long drive because Yelp said they are open. Their door says they are open, but today they decided to close early "so they can mop and clean up." Legitimately the best pho place in Tacoma. Staff is super quick, super friendly, and the food is delicious. Their spicy tofu pho will appease any discerning vegetarian palette, and they also have kiwi flavoured bubble tea which is the best flavour ever but for god knows what reason isn't usually on bubble tea menus!! You can also get mozzarella sticks and jalapeño poppers here, which may seem strange for a Vietnamese restaurant until you realize that they're open until 4:00AM and are conveniently located right off the highway at a major interchange. Because this place stays open so late we felt great taking the night away and now we are married. Two years . The hours are great, but the food was so-so. I got the rice noodle bowl with tofu and mushrooms. The mushrooms were raw (not a fan), the tofu was tasty and fried, and the lettuce and rice noodles were fine. As a vegetarian, I was not fond of the dressing, very fishy. My sweetie found the beef pho to be okay, but she ordered it raw and it wasn't raw. We will try again! The menu is extensive, and I want to try the kung pao tofu. For now, mediocre review. read more

To be very honest this pho spot is our back up spot when pho hoa is too busy for a couple reasons. 1.) Prices: Prices here are higher then others for not much more and not better quality. 2.) Food is hit or miss, my broth today had ZERO flavoring. It tasted watered down, and had no taste to it. Which I never experienced before, because usually their broth isn't bad. Really fragrant broth; I could really catch the baking spices with the steam rolling off the bowl. Very rich too -- if a little fatty. This broth strikes a solid balance between strength and nuance. Seasoned very well, I didn't want to add anything to it. Cost for a regular bowl is about a dollar more than other shops; I didn't detect anything that would warrant the price difference; it's probably just the location/building. The portions are huge, my daughter ordered tripe pho and it had lots of tripe I ordered the chicken noodle bowl it had the right amount if everything! I like the posted hours as "open until 4 am." Which is wonderful if you are a shift worker. The beef brisket pho had a nice ginger backround, but not much else until I added the hoison, and hot sauce. I had to ask for the usual tray of bean sprouts etc, which was on the thin side (I buy this stuff in the markets and its low overhead (read cheap to buy)). The place was clean and full of TV's with sports channels blaring from all sides which made it have that akward weirdness when another table of folks are watching over your heads (are they looking at us?). The server was nice, the bubble tea a bit on the small side for the price but OK. I would go again because it was warm and clean. I LOVE that they're open 'til 4AM! It's about time we night owls have somewhere else to eat than Shari's. The food was very good and the prices were excellent. The local cops seem to like the place (2 eating at a table and 1 coming in for takeout) so you know you're safe! :) They have the spoons, chopsticks, sauces and sauce bowls in a caddy on the table, but if you want a fork you will have to ask for it. The chopsticks are the nice reusable plastic ones, not the splintery paper-wrapped disposables. I will definitely be going back. Just arrived in Washington 6 this morning. I must say, this weather... Is amazing. Sweater weather all day. But as much as I love the cold, I needed something to keep me warm. I went to school with a Vietnamese girl whose family would invite me over on a semi-regular basis for dinner. While I was there, I would be "forced" to use chopsticks and to pronounce the names of the dishes as close to their native names as possible, or I didn't partake. I was also taught respect for the cultures and customs outside of my own. Back then, I thought it mean-spirited at the harshness of the lessons. Today, I'm incredibly grateful, because those lessons (and the desire to be respectful and learn more about cultures) have remained. The atmosphere is casual, with several TVs on to keep a person entertained. The hostess is amiable, accommodating, and will bring you anything you ask for promptly. The food is delicious! The Kung Pao Beef is served on a large platter and is incredibly filling. The egg rolls and spring rolls are delicious and refreshing in their flavors. The seafood Pho is spicy and filled with a variety of wonderful seafood, nestled in a bed of noodles. The fresh lemon soda is tart and cuts through the heat of the dishes with ease, waking up the senses like a righteous backhand (but is better for you *winks*). I would most definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for reasonably priced Vietnamese fare in the Tacoma area. read more

Went there hoping the food quality went up. Nope. Big fat nope. Broth still gross and greasy. No flavor. I like to get pho with broth that has flavor because i like to drink it especially when its chilly outside. The noodles were fine but the meat was not cooked throughly and i ordered the BRISKET pho. I do not eat RAW or ANY PINK meat. The bean sprouts and Jalapeno was fine but didn't come with enough jalepenos. They also are very stingy on how many hoison and siracha sauce cups they give you if you order to go. As i really enjoy hoisin in my soup. The bubble tea i still REALLY enjoy from here. We've heard great things about this place so decided to try with a group. The things I heard I will agree with. They have a good variety of a menu. I had pho while my husband had the Mongolian beef. I've had other pho before but this one ranks high on my scale. I like to put hoisen sauce and sriracha however the broth was tasty even without it. The Mongolian beef was very flavorful as well. One thing I would like to see is an expanded kids menu. The only thing on the kids menu was pho that I was able to see, however I didn't ask. They give good portions for the price you pay. It was clean. The staff was very inviting, nice, and always checking on you. Not just one, but both ladies that were out in front. I am originally from Chicago. As a result, the concept of Pho is new to me. After I learned how to pronounce that and "Puyallup" correctly I have grown to like one more than the other. No offense, Meridian is just too damn congested. Of all the Tacoma area Pho places I have tried, this might be my favorite. Unfortunately, the area does contain groups of wandering youth who have affection for vehicle prowls. Therefore, I would not leave anything of value inside my vehicle. However, they do have a generous amount of parking. Therefore, it is not an issue finding a space. In addition to being beautiful, the staff is always accommodating, and hospitable. Sorry, I have a weakness for Asian women. As a result, if you like the blonde haired- blue eyed all American kinda gal, this might not apply to you. The food is always consistent and comes in generous portions. Then there is the bubble tea. I tend to not frequent Tacoma while I am not working. However, I have found myself wanting their bubble tea even on days that I am off work. So much so, I have even considered driving there for that.
