I don't know what happened to this place. When we moved into the neighborhood 5 years ago this place was poppin and the food was delicious. But over that last year or so the quality of the food has gone down hill. The sesame chicken being my daughters favorite is now always soggy and mushy where as before crispy and the some of the best sesame chicken around. Same goes for the egg rolls that come with your Pho. The flavor of everything seems very bland and mediocre. Used to love to pick up food here but even if you pick it up and bring it home the food tastes even worse. I hope these guys can get it together and get there food back to the goodness it was years ago. read more

Just had food delivered from post mates and it's not edible. Putting in a request to cancel it. The pad Thai is somehow overcooked noodles but also not sauced well and the dish is dry. I'm disappointed in the lack of caring to allow food this bad to be sent out the door without a quick re-firing of the ticket. Now I have to go to US Thai and wait but it'll be cooked right. The food here was really good. The 3 stars is for the food. One for speedy service. We knew we were in luck when we saw the steady stream of people coming in for take out. It's tiny and the dining room reminded me of a cafeteria. The music was hipster and loud, the ordering is done at the counter then delivered to the table. Flat and bland! I love Pho, so when I originally moved to the area in 2014 and was driving home I was excited to see this Pho Fusion place. The parking lot was busy, and you think because they specialize in Pho, and with the word "Fusion" it would be good. I think the word Fusion suggests fresh and modern that because it's the rage of the 2000s/beyond, in the era of TV competition chefs food must be made fresh with good flavor, getting away from the bland/mass-produced/frozen/greasy foods of 80s style chain restaurants. The first time I tried it, it kind of had a bland, flat taste but because I love Pho, my head told me "this is Pho, you like this" and went again. The second time, still a weird taste, not flavorful or delicious but edible and I started suspecting something was wrong. It was still not horrible enough to not go, perhaps it was a one-off or two-off. So I went a third time, and this time I knew, my subconscious connected to my conscious, and said, "This is not good!" For a while I thought I didn't like Pho, until I went to visit my parents in Houston a few years later in 2018 and it was amazing. I thought it must be Houston Pho is better because of the Vietnamese population. Then I moved to Cincinnati, Ohio (long story) and took my BF for some Pho in 2019 and it was flavorful and beyond amazing - despite the lack of Vietnamese population. So moral of the story is, Pho in general is good, but Pho Fusion is not! But they do have decent rice krispy treats and are pretty nice folks. This is my favorite spot in Denver for some quick pho. It's super clean and modern on the inside. The staff is super friendly. They got a very simple menu with some other good options on there for people who aren't into Pho. Been coming here for 5 years and have never had a single complaint. read more

Let me let you in on an email I just sent to the folks at Pho Fusion: "Dear all, First I would like to thank you for offering an alternative dining experience in North Denver. My husband and I ordered the coconut curry Thai, the sesame chicken and an order of Spring Rolls. It was merely okay as both dishes lacked sufficient flavor. More importantly, I am quite disturbed by what I saw in your kitchen as I watched our dinner be prepared. A gentleman behind the line was cutting beef with scissors for what appeared to be a beef noodle bowl. As he was cutting the beef, I watched him drop a piece of meat onto the floor and then pick it up and then continue to cut it and then place it on the noodle bowl and then sealed it up and sent it on its way. I wasn't there to see who picked up the food, but needless to say I was mortified. I didn't want to make a scene about what I had just seen, since the restaurant was packed, but I will tell you that I won't be coming back since I won't be able to always watch how my food is prepared. I do hope, that for your sake, no one gets sick." Enough said about that! UPDATE AS OF 3/6/2009: Because I only think it's fair, here is the reply I received today from my email last night. "Ms. Jackson - [I get that a lot] I would like to thank you for your correspondence related the Highlands store. I greatly appreciate you taking the time and your comments. I changed my review to four stars. Why? Their pad thai is GOOD. Now granted, it's not US Thai or Wild Ginger good, but it's good enough that I will independently get a craving for it. It's very generous, they do NOT skimp on their shrimp. They will make you shrimp and tofu pad thai (Even US Thai wont do that), and they have enough varying levels of spice that for me ignoring their noodle bowls, and sticking to what I know they do well I am indeed a fan of this place. The pho....not so good. At least not by the standards held by pho-natics like my friends and I. Their broth is tangy but unexciting and definitely not addicting. Their spring rolls, however, are great. I think a spring roll is something fairly difficult to mess up though. Very fresh and great peanut sauce. Wonton soup....the broth was very tasty and the healthy steamed broccoli spears were quite good. The wonton, the star of the show, failed to impress. It was pork? The wonton wrapping was limp and tasteless and the meat inside was flavorless, bland and greasy. I like this place because its a close trek from my preferred laundrymat and who doesn't like to eat instead of watching clothes dry? Was impressed with my to go order I like to have pho at least once a week either homemade or to go. I like how easy it was to order and the packaging that I received. The chicken pho is just how I like it. Made with beef broth and it includes all of the fixens in the to go bowl. As it turns out...I work too much and haven't had time to cook lately so we've been eating a lot of affordable, casual food. Pho Fusion fit the bill. The food wasn't bad but if you want pho and you're on the west side you can do better and eat cheaper. I think Pho Fusion's market is more of the wash park set. If you want to eat chipotle-level food while hangin' out with some white people, this is a good spot. If you want really really good pho, go to one of the places on federal. Geez, I'm reading the other reviews on this places... tough crowd. Look, Pho Fusion is not the best pho in Denver. But location is everything my friends. And when it's 7pm on a Friday night, and I only have to schlep a few blocks to get my fix, frankly, it really doesn't bother me that the broth is a little heavy on the star anise. Pho Fusion has a Chipotle feel to it. It's got a big front counter with a menu above it, and you either order and wait to take out, or grab and number and they bring it to your table. The selections range from chicken pho, to some vietnamese bbq dishes, to pad thai and their own creation called "coconut curry pad thai". The servers are friendly, the kitchen is bright and open, and the place isn't divey at all. (Ever used a bottle of hoisin sauce that hasn't been wiped off in three years, and is so sticky that when you're done you can't shake it free of your hands? This is NOT that place.) The pho broth is adequate. They are reasonably generous with the chicken (all white meat, no sketch meat) and the herbs. The spring rolls are good; the chicken lettuce wraps are meh; the coconut curry pad thai is ok; the vietnamese ice coffee is great. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. If you're looking for major authenticity, get off your duff and drive to South Federal. But if you need a clean, decent and quick place to get your fix, and you can handle a slightly Americanized pho experience... and you've only got a quarter tank in the car, this place is it "Pho Shizzle". read more

Not too bad if you like bland tasting Asian food. I came in here full well knowing this wasn't by any means an "Authentic" place, but based on the reviews I read here I stayed far away from the Pho. We ordered Pad Thai and Sesame Chicken based on what others were saying on here. Seriously, the Pad thai was so freaking bland and tasted kinda sweet. The sesame chicken was a ton of deep fried food. It was better than the pad thai but that wasn't saying much. However the egg rolls were decent and I'd get those again. All right people... First I need to address the nay-saying reviewers. I, like most of you, like to be on the cutting edge of finding truly authentic tastes. I understand the reasons we travel to South Federal. If travel and time is of no object, and I just NEED to have the best of the best, yes, this is where I'm going. However, those places DO NOT make anything else completely worthless. Enough already... Pho Fusion is a FANTASTIC place to get healthy, tasty Vietnamese/Thai foods! Perhaps not the most rigidly authentic in ingredients and tastes (after all they are a FUSION restaurant), but the food you get is great, fast, and are huge portions! I'm a big eater, but I only ate half of my Low-Carb Brown Rice Bowl with tofu (my friend Emily probably had only a third of hers.) Now, with the seasoning comments, I have to agree. Everything is little-to-no seasoning, but with the bowl of sauce brought to the table and the hoisin, sriracha, and soy on the table, if you can't figure out how to make it perfect for you, you have bigger problems than seasonings. =D Moral of the story, if you are in the neighborhood, and you want something fresh, fast, tasty and huge, stop in! I'm not a pho-natic but after a long day of snowboarding and still freezing after an hour and a half drive, Pho was on our minds. I got the chicken pho soup and the boys got the combo noodle bowls and we shared an appetizer of cream cheese wontons. Food came ridiculously fast and my boyfriend helped me eat the majority but the rest was taken home in a to go that is set up so you can do it yourself. The wontons weren't made to order, you could tell they were frozen before but still good...just not anything special about them. I've been back a couple times for the sake of convenience- it's right by my house. This last time I went back, I asked for DOUBLE extra lime. I said I'd pay for it. I told them last time I had been there I paid for it and they forgot it. So they charged me $1.00 for extra extra lime. I got home to find 5 small wedges. I'm presuming then that one slice is their standard (weak and chintzy) and then that they charge .25 a wedge after that? I'd have to pay $4.00 extra to get the extra lime I prefer when I can get it for free at other pho places. Outside of that the broth is just not good. This is a dumbed down pho shop. (There are 3 options- beef, chicken, or tofu). The summer rolls were fantabulous though. Really good. I haven't tried the Thai food. I got a rice krispie treat only to find it was hard as a rock. I have internally told myself before not to go back here even in times of desperation because I am always disappointed with the end result and condiment struggles. This place done pissed me off. I went in last week with a hankering for some pho chay (that's vegetarian pho with tofu and veggies). I walked up to the counter and asked the young lady if the broth in the TOFU AND VEGETABLE PHO was vegetarian. She was obviously bothered that I had interrupted her texting to ask such an insolent question. She finished sending her text and said "No, we don't have that here," in a tone that would have been appropriate had I asked for something like, I dunno, fetus skewers? Effing water for broth would have been okay with me (thank god for sriracha), but she was such a shit, I didn't even bother asking. The food isn't over-the-top great but it is simple and healthy with some dishes better than others. The pho is definitely not going to be the best in town, the broth is actually pretty bland which is perfect for our preschooler. However I think the name sums it up with the "Fusion" piece. The convenience is the big draw here for our family and the fact that the employees are some of the sweetest people around tied up with being a healthy fast food option. We always know when life is getting hectic with how often we get take-out from here. This restaurant deserves more stars, period. This is solid Vietnamese food in a clean, modern setting. The food comes out hot, and quickly. The order-in-the-front system is efficient and refreshing; the whole place feels almost like a street food takeaway (though you eat inside). The pleasant scent of delicious, freshly-cooked Vietnamese food wafts throughout the place from the open kitchen. Also, the pho is pretty darn legit. Not saying that I'm a total viet-a-phile, but my wife and I spent two weeks touring Vietnam for our honeymoon...and we ate *everything*. My wife and I eat here a lot. Its good. Not great. The Pho broth can be hit-or-miss. Sometimes its bland, sometimes its really tasty! They have a limited section of options for protein with their Pho (meatball, rare steak, brisket, chicken and tofu) but that doesnt bother me too much since Im rarely the girl ordering tripe or tendon. Their veggie plate is heaped high and if you dont want something (like, bean sprouts. I dont like their texture in my Pho) they are quick to ask if you would like more of something else (more cilantro please!) Their lack of Pho options is made up for by the fact that they also do a decent Bun noodle bowl as well as some decent Chinese and Thai options. I have never strayed from my beloved Pho, but my wife often gets the Bun or Pad Thai. She really likes them and is often picking the bowl clean. Bonus! When I am feeling like a Low Carb meal, they offer a bowl of broth and a double shot of your protein of choice. You still get the veggies, just no noodles (I think you can sub in brown rice if you want but why???). Low Carb noms = Broth + Meatballs + finely shredded basil + Sriracha. A more appropriate name might be "Faux Fusion." 2.5 stars. I been here probably a half dozen times. You can probably guess the verdict: the pho is barely mediocre at best. The broth is bland and is akin to chicken broth from a can. The meatballs are overly chewy. You know there are tons of other places in the city that have better pho. I'll leave it at that. The last time I went, I was obviously not going to order the pho, so I tried the chicken pad thai instead. It was surprisingly decent. Good flavors, nice portion. All around, a decent meal. I would go back for this in the future. One other thing you should know. The Vietnamese eggrolls are really terrible, but this could be easily fixed by the management team. In a regular pho restaurant, you get a plate with crispy eggrolls, large leaves of cool lettuce, a side of rice noodles, carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, and a side of fish sauce. At Pho Fusion, you get 4 overcooked and dried out pieces of "eggroll," a couple pieces of wet lettuce, and some sauce. That's it. Nothing else. It's really pretty gross. If the cooks fried the eggrolls for a little less time, and gave you some noodles and/or vegetables on the plate as well, the quality of the dish would go WAY up. Just a thought. Nom nom nom! Just had lunch from here. I have recently banished grains (for the most part)(not beer of course though) and got some chicken lettuce wraps here for lunch. They give you an entire half head of iceberg and about 3/4 lb of chicken, water chestnuts, and mushrooms to fill said wraps with. It is a good amount of food, couldn't even finish half, for $7.50. Only thing I would change is romaine lettuce to wrap instead of iceberg but it is still good. It was fast, delish, and filling, and since it is by the work place I will be returning many times. read more

I'm downgrading this - after several take out orders for me and the husband where they messed it up completely and were utterly uncontrite when we had to drive back to get it fixed, I can't justify five star any more. In fact, I boycotted them for a while and have only recently started to go back. They seem to have gotten their order problems figured out. On the other hand, I have tried other options on their menu (besides pho) and they're pretty bland. Only their pho is any good and it's actually inconsistent. Again, I do like that they will allow brown rice instead of noodles, but if it weren't for that, I don't think we would ever bother with it any more. My first meal was their coconut curry pad thai which was lacking any type of interesting flavor and the spring rolls were ice cold (but good after I stuck them in the microwave) Tonight I whent with the beef pho and vietnamese egg rolls. As they were packing up my meal to go I asked for extra sauce seeing as everyone on here was saying how bland it could be. When I got home NOTHING NONE NO sauce. The noodles were meh, plenty of sprouts, cilantro, onions, etc so that was ok, and the broth was ok, but just that. The 'egg rolls' were just down right burnt and greasy. Pho Fusion is like a thai'ish fast food place. I went for the pad thai, which was marked as a signature dish. They don't ask whether you want it spicy and it's served mild, but you can add sriracha. Unfortunately, while the ingredients were generally fine, the overall taste was lacking, and not just in the spice department. The whole dish had more of a dairy taste to it than that certain tangy thai taste and it wasn't exactly what I think of pad thai being.
