I saw Irvine company got a 10% off coupon. So, I gave it a try. I ordered one rice dish and one bowl of pho. The taste just so so. Pho Saigon Pearl at Diamond Plaza tasted much better and same price. The people over there were a kind of rude. :( When I was ready to pay, they charged me $3 extra. They said that I ordered some extra item for my rice. I had no idea what they talking about. I think they were trying to trick me. I did not want to waste time to argue with them for just $3. So, I just paid it from the tips that I planned to leave on the table. As more and more Vietnamese business pop up in Irvine, Pho Hanoi has been getting worse in delivering authentic Vietnamese food quality and service worthy of a tip. Other than taking your order, you won't get any wait table table service unless you waive a white flag to their waiters. Also Pho Hanoi should not ask their Vietnamese customers to walk up to the cash register and pay, especially if they hand deliver the table check to their Caucasian customers. read more

This is a pho restaurant. If you order anything else, you might get screwed! I ordered #50 crispy fried chicken with steamed rice instead of fried rice. When I got the order, it was really fried on the outside. The skin was burnt. When I took the skin off and looked at the chicken, it was totally raw. I wish I took a picture before I gave it back to the server. I told them to take it back. I ordered a pho ga (chicken pho) instead. They replaced my order and should have given my order on the house. Next time I come back, it will be pho from now on. Normally I would give this place at least 3 stars, but tonight I wouldn't even give them 1 star but that's the lowest I can go. Pho Hanoi's bo luc lac and fried rice has always been our favorite. However lately, they've been very inconsistent with the flavor and the quality. For a month, we stop patronizing Pho Hanoi and today we tried again taking out same dishes hoping that it will be the same again the first time we had it; but we are very disappointed as this is the worse so far. Having been criticized by a particular pho owner for my review of his place, I felt obligated to write a few more reviews in a certain geographic region. Pho Hanoi fits the exact same mold as many of the other pho shops in Irvine; it's average and slightly more expensive. The main thing Pho Ha Noi has going for it is that it's a great alternative to waiting for Tang 190 if that place is too crowded with too long of a wait. The other nice part about Pho Ha Noi is that there is pretty nice outdoor seating. Other than that there's not much I can say about Pho Ha Noi that it does to distinguish itself either poorly or positively. read more

So while at work I decided to call this restaurant to order a Com Bo Luc Lac (Rice with Cubed Steak). I came out to pick up my order within 10 minutes, only to discover that they took my order wrong. They gave me a Noodle with Cube meat instead of my rice AND it didn't have any sauce of any kind. Just dry peices of meat that looked like it came out of someone's dry rear end and tossed on top of a bed of noodles. I told them to take it back and correct it. So the waiter runs along and talks to the cook about it, and the cook tells him to just get the rice heat it up and give it to me. You don't try to do something as cheap and shady as that when the customer understands your language and has been eating here for a year asshole. So the food came out, the waiter tries to ring me up the bill. I opened the box and what did I find? Dry pieces of steak on top of a bed of noodles with a order of rice w/out the special sauce that the meat is supposed to be served with. The dumb-ass waiter runs over and tries to explain that the meat is supposed to be dry and just to eat it with the rice and ignore the noodles. It fueled my anger ever more and i just walked out and wanted to get something else quick and easy so I can make it back for work. Complete morons, never coming back again read more

it was pretty chilly out last night so i thought i'd get some pho in the area. the sign outside still says Saigon Grille.. and even the checks still have Saigon Grille printed at the top. anyway, we ordered the chicken with rice noodle soup, curry chicken, and garlic seared filet mignon. the bowl of soup was huge.. there was a lot of noodles. they were all fully cooked and not clumpy at all. the broth was good because it was hot and flavorful, not gross and weird smelling like at Noodle Avenue. there was a decent amount of chicken and it was fairly tender. i tried a little of the curry sauce and it was definitely different.. it's a lot sweeter than curry at other places. i think it had honey in it or something. i liked it though. the filet mignon was extremely soft and flavored perfectly. i'll probably order it next time, if it's not too cold out. the prices are very reasonable + ample parking - their Coca Cola tastes bad.. and they put way too much ice in it read more

Based on recent reviews, I figured that this would be a hit-or-miss experience. It was a miss for me. I went solo. Staff was courteous but not attentive. For example, even though I'd asked for cilantro when placing the order, I had to ask for it several times before getting it. I wasn't alone. Every time I asked, I noticed others piggy-backing onto my request. I ordered a large combo pho that was mostly noodle. I like tripe. I specifically had asked if the combo contained lots of tripe & was assured that it did. It had about 3 small pieces (I counted). There was little meat and what was there was lacking and dry. Soup lacked flavor. I went there because it was close by. Next time, I think I'll drive further and get better food. read more

Best Pho in Orange County! The broth is full of flavor and the meat is always tender. If you're not feeling Pho, their menu is large and offers a lot of awesome dishes! If I could give this place no stars I would. Food is ok as far as mainstream pho places go. What really saddened me was how they treated our group. I work with a hroup if apecial needs students and we refularly go on field trips. We had gone about twice before and both times staff seemed polite but tried rushing us through. This time however they recognized our group when we walked in and told us that if our kids were loud we wouldn't be allowed to stay. Right after the gentleman (manager i believe) said this, one of our students had some vocalizations and the gentleman flat out told us that student couldn't sit inside. To top it all off the staff kept avoiding our table. I understand that people want a nice environment while they're eating however it was flat out targeting and discriminating against our students. If you find yourself here I'd recommend the pho ap chao. It's like a mixture of your choice of meat and veggies in a brown sauce served with a side of crispy flat rice noodles. I've had this dish at other places and the noodles are usually served under the toppings, which makes them get soggy quick. I like that they put the noodles on the side. The pho is A ok, and the banh xeo ("Vietnamese crepe") not recommended. Traditional banh xeo has a shell that is made with mung bean and green onion. It should be crispy on the outside and a little moist on the inside. The banh xeo here doesn't have any mung bean flavor and is way too crispy for it's own good. The filling was also kinda sad. All in all they have some real winners on the menu, but that quality isn't consistent across the menu, so give it a try! But be weary. read more

Meh, describes this place pretty well. I got a taro smoothie with boba which was good. The food however was lacking. I got the bun with pork, shrimp and egg rolls #47. I enjoyed the egg rolls but the shrimp and pork were tasteless. The bun was also composed of mostly greens. I would have preferred more vermicelli. It only had 3 shrimps too. I see a lot of people on here like the #47 but it just didn't do it for me. read more

At first, I didn't like this place. The first time I went with my husband, they gave WAY too much noodle compared to other toppings. Then the place slowly got better. I like how I can call in my to-go order and drive there and pick it up within 5~10 min since it's the closest pho place to our place.
