If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My boyfriend and I came here ready for some good dinner, we come here all the time we love it. But it was good until it wasn't. 10 minutes into eating our food my boy friend noticed a fly in his chicken pho ... it took 3 employees to come and check out the fly. ON TOP OF THIS, they simply told us "sorry" and they would bring out another pho... as if the pho isn't brewed all together in one pot. So often, YELP seems an avenue for socially dispossessed and perennially unhappy people to finally, after all these years, get folks to listen as they tear apart some unsuspecting restaurant or service provider, often for offenses that are imagined or barely worth the first glance. For this reason, I will remove my comments by February 13, 2024. My dog, Checkers, and I, by the way, disagree substantially about the quality of the food at Pho Hoa. Checkers is a fan of dry, tough, over-cooked chicken. If he had anything to say about it, i'd return to Pho Hoa every single day. He rarely gets leftover food from great restaurants. This was our first visit to this relatively new spot, open for about a year. We dropped in, more or less on impulse, at about a quarter to three on a weekday; at that hour majority of the customers were well-behaved kids just getting out of Pinole Valley High School, just up the street. It's a storefront space at the far end of the Pinole Valley Shopping Center, simply decorated but very clean. One unisex restroom. Plenty of parking in the mall lot. Inside table service and outdoor seating are available, though most people just seemed to be ordering at the counter. Friendly but somewhat English-challenged staff. Almost inaudible background music, and one flat-screen TV playing what appeared to be a travelogue with scenes of Vietnam. We had to ask the server back for silverware and chopsticks, though one nearby table did have a container of the latter. The menu is pretty familiar Vietnamese fare, well-executed and attractively presented. We had: --Summer rolls (Gỏi Cuốn)-- shrimp egg rolls with a rather sweet peanut sauce; two pieces per order. These differ from the more familiar spring rolls by being wrapped in a translucent rice paper skin, and not fried. --Prawn and pork vermicelli bowl (Bún Thịt Nướng). On a bed of rice vermicelli, three prawns and a generous portion of tender grilled pork; augmented by shredded lettuce, pickled carrots, bean sprouts, ground peanuts, green onion slices, and a separate bowl of a mildly spicy sauce. --Thai iced tea with black boba; spicy and slightly smoky. There's no liquor yet, but an application for a license is posted. We moved out of the Hercules-Pinole area last year, but we'll certainly keep Phở Hòa in mind whenever we get back to the West County. read more

I would give this place a zero star if I could, but I came here on Sunday around 4:00 pm, the people were very rude they seated me and took my order but the little boy that took my order and give me water too with it was absolutely so rude , he had a bad tone with it too it seemed like he didn't like he didn't want to take my order . I had to repeat myself multiple times! Because he couldn't understand what I wanted in my pho soup. I said it was fine I'll pay for the extra 5$ seafood! But he didn't seem to get it which I did not appreciate he was almost making me rush with my order . My order was brought out with this cute nice girl with glasses . She asked me if I needed anything else I said yes can I please get some soy sauce she brought it right out without a problem. I started to eat my food but [[HIGHLIGHT]]the little boy came back and he was cleaning some tables but the cart was so dirty which was so DISGUSTING TO ME!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]He spray a smelly yellow dirty bottle I have no idea what it was in it but it smelled horrible!!! I've been on the hunt for a new Pho place to go to for the longest and i've found it! My brother had originally recommended this place off of their rice plates alone but we had the chance of coming in today. Dining in is a great experience and the staff is super friendly. It's such a cute place and i'll definitely be a regular from now on. The fried rolls are a MUST, definitely my personal favorite. We went in here today. I have a migraine it was so bad I don't have any appetite to eat and then my hubby offered some soup and I said I want some pho. We happened to be in the area and saw pho hoa is open after so many months of waiting. I tried their "no.15" man, it was soooo good. Warm and the meat are all tender. They even have 3 sizes of pho. Good for someone who cannot eat a big bowl like me (even if i wanted to) the lady who took our order and help us out is so nice and always offer water. Such great service you guys! The food is great and we will surely try the other dishes. The price is superb for such a great food! We will surely be back! And oh they put fish sauce on the pho so its all good if you are seafood allergy. read more

Very nice staff. It's a fast food type place, but they keep bringing you water and everything. The pho is good. No great rare beef like in Vietnam, but it's good. The boba is also surprisingly good. I can't vouch for the normal tea, I just had some Thai-style tea, but the boba was chewy. One improvement I would suggest is adding more variety for the pho, such as meat balls, etc. read more

Reposting. Currently working with the health department. They have multiple major violations for improper food handling and general unclean conditions. Remember 3 months ago when I posted on Facebook saying how violently ill I got, and many many others. When I called to let them know, they said they were not gonna change their practices or throw away the food that caused so many to be ill "just because a couple of people got sick" THEYRE OWN WORDS. There were people who went to the hospital and children who were violently sick. You could kill people!! I don't want people to reach out to me like they did last time with defamation claims. The broth is NOT good. It almost tastes like they used packaged broth to be honest. We all know how broth made from scratch is suppose to taste. I finally got to check this place out with my co-workers and it was very good! When you walk in you get to sit down and someone will bring menu's and take your order. I got the chicken banh-mi sandwich along with the avocado roll (1 roll per order) and both were very tasty! The banh-mi was very flavorful but on the smaller side compared to other places but I mean you can't beat $5!! I liked how the bread was not overly crunchy and the bread inside was nice and soft. I do wish they would have tofu banh mi sandwiches as I would definitely get that if they had it. Just FYI they only have chicken and pork banh mi but definitely worth a try. read more

We have been grieving for the loss of Krispy Kream in Pinole, which was the nearest location for our craving. We stopped by Pinole Valley Shopping Center today after a hike in Pinole Point with the intention to get some frozen yogurt. I was surprised to see Pho Hoa at the previous Krispy Kream location. It triggered all the memories when I lived in Mountain View and went to Pho Hoa in Downtown Mountain View frequently. I wanted to go in but I have quit meat consumption several years ago. Is there anything on the menu for me? I was pleasantly surprised to see vegetarian pho on the menu and read a positive review on it. The dinning area and bathroom were both clean. The staff asked for my proof of vaccination for dinning in. I picked a table right next to the entrance so I could keep an eye on the car with the dogs inside. It took just a few minutes for the food and coffee to arrive. The staff asked me whether the music coming out from the speaker above me was too loud. I didn't actually notice since I was fully immersed in the trip down the memory lane of those late nights at Pho Hoa over a decade ago. The vegetarian pho looked and tasted great, and they got it right - no cilantro per my request. I am not a huge fan of carrots, but I enjoyed all the fresh vegetables in the soup. I ordered a regular bowl, and I couldn't possibly eat any frozen yogurt after lunch. Now we have a new reason to visit Pinole Valley Shopping Center more frequently. read more

Tried this place out. We thought the owner was very nice, but the girl working at the register could use a little help. We each ordered a meal and wanted to order a kid's meal for our daughter. But, we were told that you cannot order a kid's meal to go because of the size of the meal.
