I consider myself a foodie and I normally don't leave bad reviews because I love all the food but I honestly don't know how this place has such a high rating as it does. We got our pho (I ordered the Oxtail) and my friend ordered the meatball combo. The dishes are huge, but there wasn't much substance to the dish. There was way too much Broth and not enough protein or noodles. And the broth, I could tell just by looking at it that it wasn't going to be as flavorful as what I'm accustomed to. The broth was really water downed and we had to put a bunch of sriracha and hoisin sauce. We also got the egg rolls which were also mediocre. And I love me some egg rolls. I don't know if it's just their pho that isn't impressionable but if you're going to call yourself Pho House, you would think that your main dishes would be stellar. My family and I wanted to support more small businesses after Covid, so we checked out Pho House since it was near our house. The amount of portion they give you can feed you and your family for couple days! They even gave us a huge bag of bean sprouts, onions and cilantro that literally looked like we went grocery shopping. Before Covid...we used to go to Sup Noodle across the street, but their to-go portions are a bit ridiculous for the amount you pay. I think between the two restaurants, it's about 5 bucks difference (per order). Food is good here and the price is also reasonable. I would recommend anyone looking for a good Pho restaurant in this area especially for anyone ordering to-go! read more

This place has been my go to spot for pho for the past couple years, but especially recently, I've gone at least once every 1-2 weeks! Once I even ordered from this place 3x in one week! I remember thinking this place made my clothes smell so heavily like pho, but I feel like I'm not having this issue as much anymore. But whether it's take out or dine in, this place always gives such quality food and service and they're always very accommodating! Phone orders are also very easy, but often the woman answering may not know English so they have to transfer the phone to a worker who can speak English. Since i'm not vietnamese, this place not be as authentic as it should be, but to me it seems very authentic and i find it VERY delicious! also both they're spring rolls AND egg rolls are so so so scrumptious! i always order one or the other every time i go! personally they're egg rolls are my all time favorite!!! for the pho options they also have options like beef belly and seafood and even seafood kimchi!! so i'm assuming it might be a koreanized pho but all in all very tasty! this place is open for takeout and they make your orders very fast so i definitely recommend checking this place out! read more

Balancing on the the border of OK, went here again other night. Late night that is since they are open til 3am on Sat. Was craving pho and didn't want to drive too far since I was in the area. I remember this place had oxtail pho and decided to go. Not too many people at 1:30am so service is fast. Looked at the menu on the wall and instantly went for the oxtail pho. It came in a few minutes and i dug in... the broth and noodles were good but still average. However, the three pieces of oxtail wasn't very tender and kinda bland. It really stuck to the bone and was difficult to take pieces off it with the chopsticks. Had to grab it to take a bite. My friend said his was really good last time we went, so i'm hoping this was just one of those nights. read more

It's hard to find a pho place outside of the Garden Grove/Westminster area and after trying to explore new spots, I realized that I just need to stop. I ordered the combination pho and the best thing about it was the broth came out piping hot. It also was clean tasting in my opinion. I was disappointed in the veggie platter that usually comes with your pho, this had a sparse amount of bean sprouts, cilantro, and lime wedges. Where are the jalapenos and other aromatic herbs? The meat that came with the pho was also a bit overwhelming. The cut of brisket resembled more what you see at Korean BBQ than in pho. My husband did like his dish though- a seafood style Korean noodle dish. Our appetizer was very strange. The sauce served with our spring roll was no lie, jarred salsa. I was dumbfounded that this would be seen as acceptable. Service was sluggish the entire time we were here. Probably won't be back. read more

Came in after a workout down the street. Pho house is Korean owned but the Pho is better than some Vietnamese places. I wasn't in the Pho mood so I took a chance and went with one of their combo entrees the lemon grass curry chicken. When it arrived it looked just like pic on the menu and the lemongrass curry chicken came with steamed rice slices of tomato and cucumbers. The food was tasty, contained a generous portion and satisfying! Next time I dine here, I'll consider ordering some other entrees besides Pho. Brisket was improved by dipping in hot sauce. I couldn't tell if there was MSG but the small bowl ($5.95) did have a yellowish residue like in instant ramen. I didn't have the appetite to try the curry or fried rolls. I like pho rare beef better than brisket but it comes already cooked through in the soup. I thought the noodles were good because it absorbed flavor from the onions in the broth. I would have liked the brisket to be trimmed more of fat because it wasn't melting off in the soup. It seemed clean inside but the staff preferred seating us away from the booths. Mung bean sprouts weren't nutty but they contributed good texture to the noodles. Rare beef should have been served on the side so you can add it yourself. The beef filet slices had zing like it had been lightly marinated in citrus. The pho arrived soon after we ordered. Thai iced tea comes in a bottle ($1.99). They refilled my water glass once. This didn't help cure my cough. We didn't use the cilantro because it looked old and yellow. read more

The soup base tasted nothing like pho, and I didn't even dare to order coffee because I knew it wouldn't be authentic Vietnamese coffee.... Soup was hot, but again tasted weird and nothing like pho. This place is a scam and if you like pho don't come here. So I went yesterday and I have been here before but something has changed recently. The pho doesn't seem like it is prepared the authenticate way. It seems like they use pho flavoring for their broth. I honestly felt like I was eating a microwaveable pho bowl. That's how bad the quality of the taste was. It was literally cup of noodles pho style. I didn't even finish the broth or noodles. Just ate the meat which was also subpar and lacked flavor. If you like pho try PHO 45 down the street way better quality and it's actually homemade. Secondly, we ordered shrimp spring rolls and it was a scam too. No shrimp just lettuce and awkward fried garlic chips that were super hard. The peanut sauce seemed really puréed and wasn't authenticate. The red sauce to go with the springs rolls wasn't good either it seemed like can salsa. Honestly the worst pho experience I've had hear. After a long day of sight seeing in the City of Angeles, we decided to get something to eat but what is open during the late night hours. So, with much searching, Pho House came up closing late in the evening. We decided to give this place a try. For appetizer, we had a calamari. My wife had the marinated chicken plate, eldest daughter had the seafood kimchi pho, my younger daughter had the seafood and meat combo pho, and I had the oxtail pho. I must say my food matches what was on the picture and I didn't believe it. I had only three pieces of oxtail in my pho. I would prefer to have more oxtail but three pieces means three pieces. Overall, having pho after a long day really hits the spot. Service at the beginning was good but as the meal went on, the service was just OK. I guess they wanted my family to enjoy our meal and not bother us. The prices for each bowl/plate seems overpriced but if you like late night dining for the weekend, this is a place for you to go to. read more

Been here a few times. Well, I always order to go. Don't be fooled by my rating of 3 stars. 3 stars means "OK" because this place is that, to me. "Okay", not "YAY, a Fan". I come here when I don't want to cook dinner and it's easy to get to on my way from work. But not the first choice when I have time to sit in. The broth is a combination broth (from what I was told by an employee). I personally prefer the Broth options I get in some places. The broth here isn't bad. Only complaint I have is the overwhelming taste of the (i think) Thai Bay Leaves. I always skip adding those when they're served on the side, and seems this place simmers their broth with them. Broth has a ----idk, I may not be correct on WHAT it is but there's definitely a very pronounced taste to this broth. Not particularly fond of it. Again, this review is not meant to be a 'bad' review, especially since any complaint I have is definitely opinion in taste and not service or quality. Quality of the food is great. Growing up the San Gabriel Valley, I've been pretty fortunate to know good Vietnamese food. Recently, I ventured out to Orange County with my friends and came across this restaurant, and I was really glad I did. I ordered a tofu pho, which included a variety of fresh vegetables like Bok Choy and broccoli. The sides of cilantro, lime, and bean sprouts were a really nice touch to my soup. The broth is meat based, so keep that mind for those who are vegan. I had a taste of the seafood pho soup, and that was also really delicious. The portions are very generous, yet the broth is rich and flavorful. I didn't even feel the need to add more than a little sauce and lime, normally I drown my pho in lime and spice but the broth here was already packed with flavor. The viet iced coffee paired really nicely to balance out the warm from the soup. The food was fresh and hot. Aside from pho, I highly recommend the chicken wings as an appetizer, and the fried banana as a dessert. When it comes to the environment, it's quite spacious, open, and bright. The restroom was very clean, as was the rest of the restaurant. The servers were really attentive and on top of it, even through the steady flow of customers that arrived when we were there. This place is cheap when it comes to how they make their food. The pho broth has very little flavor, there's not much meat and the usual leaves are not provided. Also their spring rolls are filled with iceberg lettuce as opposed to the usual greens. We will not be going here again. read more
