Wow, I don't think I've ever eaten anything this salty. I ordered the vegetable pho, because most places use vegetable broth. However, this place used beef broth for all their dishes including the vegetarian pho. That's okay, because I was told in advance. However, what's not okay is just oh shockingly salty the food was. I know pho is a pretty salty food in general, but there are levels of saltiness that are acceptable. I was only able to eat a few bites and I couldn't touch it after that. This is our go to place for Pho. The portions are large. Service is fast, and the food is delicious. We always get the 2PA (rare steak and brisket), crispy egg rolls, and on occasion, the fried rice. All very good for a solid price. I see they have a lot of unique options like Chilled pho, which I have yet to try, but I can say their pho broth and pho is great! I ordered to-go and upon arriving, we found out that there was an apparent mix-up of orders so I waited 10 more minutes which was no problem and the owner was very apologetic about it. The portions are huge here. They give you two bags full of sliced onions and bean spouts and plenty of sriracha and hoisin sauce! The portions of the pho and chicken fried rice were also big. We ordered two pho for three people and we couldn't finish it both. Tbh there's nothing completely different or special about this pho place. It tastes like your classic hearty pho place. Decided to try a new place thinking that they would have great food but our experience was far from what we expected. Pho was not good and I am not an expert but my BFF who is from Vietnam felt exactly the same and we literally left the restaurant leaving most of our plates full! Pho was just not taste at all I order fried rice and requested to not have the fake crab but the cook didn't listen! I order Vietnamese coffee that was so basic that was so disappointing! Went here on a Friday night after 9pm and came across this place after going to the La Mirada night swap meet. Place is big and very spacious with a lot of booths and tables. The kimchi seafood pho was different, it was more like kimchi soup with a hint of pho flavor. It definitely has a kick. I think it would be good when you are sick and need some soup. I'll give the PHO a 4* because my partner absolutely loved the pho broth. I rate the pork vermicelli a 2*; way too much lettuce, hardly any meat or noodles. The egg rolls with meat were about a 4* and the pork sandwich was also a 2*. The bread was a bit stale and the ingredients ratio was way off. There wasn't much pork, a ton of cilantro, not much else honestly besides a big dry baguette. I had the oxtail pho which is usually hard to find. The people were nice, excellent service, the soup were served boiling hot in a stainless steel bowl. I will start off by saying... if you're looking for mindblowingly amazing pho, then this isn't the place. But if you're looking for a simple, local place to get your pho fix with no frills, then look no further. Pre-COVID, this place was a nice choice to come eat late at night when everything except for fast food is closed but it seems that they've updated their hours to more normal hours since then. Still, even their updated hours are on the later end (open until 10pm). The place looks cleaner and their menu looked a bit updated since the last time I visited. Portions are on the large side. I ordered the vermicelli salad while my parents both ordered filet mignon pho. They got the filet mignon because my dad likes to be fancy like that... but we all agreed the brisket tastes better. The vermicelli salad was okay. The beef that came with it was nicely seasoned and the portion was large. The downside was that there was a LOT more soybean sprouts... and not so much vermicelli haha. 5 egg rolls were $9.99. Not sure if that's on the pricey end or average, but in terms of taste, they were good! There was one waitress serving at the restaurant. She wasn't super attentive as she was just on her phone most of the time (there were no other customers except for a party that came in at the end of our meal and one customer for take-out). One of the worst pho place I've ever been to! This is a Korean owned pho restaurant. They are extremely understaffed; only two people were working the front when we got there. Place is insanitary. I honestly don't know how this place has so many high reviews?! Were they drunk or high when they came here? Lol I ordered the Vietnamese Jjampong (P8A), which is a seafood spicy noodle soup. It looked good, but the broth was bland. My husband ordered the pork chop (R2). The pork chop had a weird taste and color to it. Definitely does not look or taste even close to the pork chops you'd get at a typical pho place. He only took 3-5 bites of it with plenty of it left over. Besides being disappointed by the food, we felt pretty disgusted while being there. The younger woman who was there serving was also prepping the small plates of bean sprouts and limes. She was also handling the register when the older woman was occupied. After handling the register, she would go back and prep the small plates with BARE hands without washing her hands first. She would also refill the water pitcher by SCOOPING water out of a plastic container tub. The older woman would stack up a plate of fresh food on top of a bowl of fresh food and serve it to a customer, assuming her tray must've been too full to place that plate of spring roll. I've also noticed chipped, bite marks on their spoons. Gross! Knives weren't completely clean. It still had food stain stuck to it. I highly do not recommend coming here. Great late night dinner to satisfy our pho craving. Split a large tendon, brisket, and steak pho with my girlfriend. Great value, taste, and service. Even comes with a little cup of thai tea! Service: 4/5 - late night so not a lot of people, but nothing special. They sat us quickly, got our order, and had it out pretty quickly. Other than that, much more interaction. Taste: 4/5 - Hard to ruin pho unless the ratio is off or not enough meat. The ratio was great! We got a lot of meat for all 3 types, and lots of noodles. The pho place nearby Pho 21 definitely does not have as good of a size for a large, I always feel hungry and not satisfied when I go there. Here, the large size is PLENTY. Value: 4/5 - Great value. Pho House is an uncommon mix of Vietnamese and Korean styles together. Of course a place with Pho in the name will have pho and ought to be judged accordingly, but there are many Korean staples on the menu too. The pho broth is solid, 3.5 out of 5 stars, not the best or most robust flavor, but good enough, convenient and not a long wait (Sup Noodle Bar nearby was a 45+ min wait). Our party selected the P3 Rare Steak, P11 Filet Mignon, and P7 Seafood and Meat Combo. The broth was the same in all of them, so the primary difference was the proteins. I honestly could not tell the difference between rare steak and filet mignon, the colors were different shades of brown but I could not identify which is which. So my recommendation is just get the cheaper rare steak option. The Seafood and meat combo included beef meatballs, tripe, and rare steak in addition to scallops, mussels, crab, lobster, shrimp pieces, struck me as a mish-mash of proteins on hand. I personally prepare a pure steak protein, but the Seafood pho was finished in its entirety. The S4 diced filet mignon is also known as French Beef Cubes. This dish was flavorful, medium cooked steak, generous portion size, I would get again. Service was okay, not too many employees but also wasn't too busy. read more
