Pho is good. But not the prices and portions are another story. The charge $11 something for a large. But you really get a small bowl. Thanks to inflation. I understand. But to pay more for less. I asked him it this a large. WTH. LOL. That's not right. Well it is what it is. . No worries. I don't mind paying more but give me that right portion! Don't put it in a small bowl and charge me 12 bucks. Well, I'm a few months you going to wonder why most of your customers aren't coming back. Cus this is going elsewhere. Again don't mind paying. Absolute best and the only other issues I have is that they used to give each order of pho their own plate of toppings (basil, bean sprouts, limes, cilantro and jalapeños) now it's like that same amount for multiple orders which sucks. The place is really nice. We've been going here since it opened and from there on out this is my mo's favorite Pho place until recently. Every Saturday my mom and I would have lunch here - it has become almost a tradition. I go here on my lunch breaks when I'm craving some pho. The service lacks consistency. I've had multiple bad service with them when I go on my lunch breaks but when I'm mom it's almost fantastic. Which makes me give a very mixed review. I love the Pho here first and foremost. It's basically the only thing I get here besides the milk tea. But most recently I've tried their Bun Bo Hue.... And let me tell you... If I ever want good Bun Bo Hue this is where I will go for some quality Bun Bo Hue. Granted this Bun Bo Hue smells really off and gross but it's surely good. Besides the service being off and a lot of miscommunication the food there is great. The price for them? Decent. Of course I found a new place to go to for Pho that I'm absolutely in love with. I've been to several of the noodle houses in this area. This is by far the best one. Have been four times in the last few weeks and it has been spot on every time. The decor is very modern and it's very spacious. They even have a large salt water aquarium in the front. We come here for one reason, their bo bay mon (7 style beef). This is my absolute favorite and this place seems to be the only that has it. You get 7 small courses with beef done 7 ways: a beef congee soup, flat beef that you cook in boiling lemongrass water and then wrap with vermicelli and spring roll paper, etc. What disturbed me was what I saw the waitress doing. As she was cleaning up the empty table next to us, she cleared and threw away everything....except for the plate of lettuce... Being Vietnamese I always joked about what they do with the leftovers and tonight I saw. The waitress pushed the cart to the middle of the room and she looked me straight in the eye and then TAKE THE PLATE OF USED LETTUCE BACK TO THE KITCHEN! Wow, my bf and I were totally disgusted! Yep they have fish balls! Pho Hung was my go to Vietnamese restaurant when I worked in Hurst. I was blessed to have several Asia friends at work who introduced me to the world of Pho (pronounced Fah). I quickly found out my true love was the vermicelli with grilled pork and fish sauce (Bun Thit Heo Nuong). Stopped in for lunch one day and sat down to a decent meal, and an extremely well priced one at that. Enjoyable and clean restaurant with a pair of flat screens in the dining room and many family style tables. For a mere $8 and change, I was able to get a a large bowl of pho with well done flank, tripe, and my favorite, tendon. Included in this price was a glass of iced lemon and jasmine tea. I seriously ordered and within no time at all (literally minutes) my food arrived. Accompanying the bowl were the traditional slices of jalapeno, mung beans, lime, and basil, as well as a table full of more condiments than most places: Hoisin, Sriacha, Chili paste, soy, salt/pepper, and like three other sauces in squeeze bottles. I had a mix of tripe, flank, tendon, and round steak, and the mix was nice, though didn't blow me away. The bowl was healthy in size as always, but something was just too much to finish everything. Can't put my finger on it, but there was an off putting feeling as I got to the middle of the bowl that just wouldn't let me finish, and it wasn't the sriracha or the pepper paste. Not sure, but any way, I paid and was again, impressed with the price of everything. I've still got several places to go before coming back, but I'd be willing to give them another chance. read more

A co-worker ate at each Pho restaurant in the area for over a week to find the best. Pho Hung was, and still is, the winner. Spring rolls - Always promptly delivered and delicious. The Pho - A savory, complex and flavorful broth. The meat is clean and fresh tasting. I always get the chicken Pho, but the beef and seafood look amazing. This place has ruined me for other Pho restaurants. We go at least once a week, sometimes two. The restaurant is always well-presented, clean and tasteful. Fast service, very nice servers who remember you when you come in as often as we do. Don't miss the aquarium with the starfish that looks like a burnt marshmallow. On this street dotted with Pho restaurants, pass them all up and stop at Pho Hung. You won't regret it. read more

Okay, so this is an update after 3 years. The fish tank looks like it's not been cleaned properly in a long time - the water is clean, sure, but there's almost no fish in there, and tons of starfish growing in the tank. We walked in, and 2 other tables had people sitting there. One lady was waiting for everyone, and she didn't even acknowledge us walking in. We asked where to sit, and she just pointed to a table. We sat down, waited 10 minutes, and eventually left. Come on, guys. If you want business, and at least a tip, you should at least say "hello". We want to Pho Dung Ba, and had a far better experience. Bigger place, better food, and atmosphere. They actually said "hello" and sat us down. Don't bother with Pho Hung. What a waste of time. Very disappointing. read more

Pho Hung is my pho place. Been to others in the 'hood and even some others in DFW and the only pho that could hang with Pho Hung was up in Seattle. To be honest, the service *could* be better, but realistically I wouldn't have them change a thing. We've been coming back for a couple of years and always notice the same handful of employees. Some know us by now, some don't. There can be a very mild language barrier if you're not ordering straight from the printed menu, but they've seemed to be able to figure things out just fine. The pho Combination Bowl is hard not to order. There are so many options on the menu, but I can't help but to keep coming back to it. "Small" is a relative term and I'd imagine could fill most people up. There's an almost magical quality that can be had by concocting the right mixture of Thai basil, cilantro, jalapenos, Srichacha and hoisin sauce. I could eat this pho every day. read more

A little awkward as I was trying to look over the menu, the person waiting taking our order just stood there lingering at the end of our table instead of coming back to give us some time to look over everything, and so I felt rushed to order. Asked to have my pho without shrimp, server said "yes, okay no shrimp," but it came with shrimp in it, so I just picked out out..considering many places do not properly clean shrimp, that's why I order things without it. Me and my family came for dinner around 7:45pm, they close at 9pm. It is not my first time also, but I see some new faces, dont know if they change owner yet. My order I only want rice with egg and cha, so I asked waitress that is it ok, because it is not on the menu. She said ok, and told me total is 7.75. Then later she charge my plate for 8.75 (+1.5 for the egg). I asked why she said because her total boss change the price, she dont know. The smell of oil was so strong when we came throught the door, no one was greating us, we sit down at a table and one lady came with no smiling face and I asked: "is the exhaust fan on?" She replied :"sure is" that's it. Then she takes our order and I was order some food and one stir fry noodles with vegetables for my daughters. Later on they bring the noodles with only meets and couples of shrimps no vegetables at all. We call another girl with no smile on her face and say this order was wrong. Two words: "Bo Kho." Yep, spicy beef stew! I personally don't like pho proper, so I ALWAYS get the beef stew. It's rich, beefy, and slammed with Vietnamese spices. The meat is almost always melt in your mouth tender, and it's great with rice noodles or a baguette. Between this restaurant and Pho 95 in Arlington, it's a tie. We went over in the area because we were hungry for Vietnamese. It was a weekend night so we were surprised that a couple of our favorite places that normally close at 9:00 had actually closed early. So we were happy to find this place still open and serving. We were hungry, and it was a meal. Nothing horrible, but certainly nothing special. The spring rolls were some of the most unspectacular I've had in the restaurants in that area, mostly rice noodles, cheap processed meat, and very little flavor. And the bowl of vermicelli noodles with grilled shrimp, veggies and fish sauce was also okay but a little disappointing. The veggies were nonexistent compared to some other places. I've had worse. I would only come here when I am craving pho. There are other places to eat at in Haltom City, but most Vietnamese restaurants in this area are cash only. Luckily, this place accepts cards. I ordered a large combination pho. It comes with meatballs, tripe, rare beef flank steak, and tendons. My favorite part to eat are the tendons because it is always tender. Also, they have vinegar jalapeños on the table and you can put it in your soup to add more flavor. There are about 4 viet restaurants along the same block, this is the 2/4 that we have tried and so far like it more than the other location we went to! The staff is nice, and their menu is cheap! I am half viet and I will tell you that if you are paying more than $8 for a Pho bowl then it is probably not going to be good. We ordered the spring rolls, egg rolls, and combination Pho. I will say that they forgot about our egg rolls but it's ok bc we were too full for them anyway! But my gosh, the meatballs in the Pho were the absolute best!! We will definitely become regulars! I like pho at this place because their soup is not so oily. Their large bowls are not as large as some of their competitors, but its usually pretty tasty. I heart pho :) Especially when it's starts to get chilly outside or if I'm having a crappy day. Pho is comfort food. This place is a bit on the nicer side- fancy pants fish tank and all. The service is lacking, but that is a standard at a Viet place. I have tried a few different things here- my favorites are the chicken banh mi and the shrimp bun. I'll get pho sometimes- but I really like to get meatballs in mine, and the meatballs here are sketchy. The banh xeo is good- a crispy savory pancake stuffed with fatty pork, shrimp, diced green onion, and bean sprouts. The spring rolls are nice and fat. The egg rolls are delicious. They put lots of carrot slivers in the nuoc mam. Yum. I almost always have the cafe su da- iced coffee with condensed milk. When you are paying at the register, don't ignore the baked goods they have lining the counter! The Madeline cookies are spongy and delicious! I also like the flat almond cookies. 3$ for a box.
