The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside, and food is served quickly after you order. - Bahn Mi ($8.50). We got it with charbroiled pork, which was kind of hard, but the sweet marinated meat had flavor. I was pleased with the ample amount of radish along with carrot and cucumber. However, the bread wasn't fresh. - Pho Hut Special / Pho Dac Biet ($14 regular, $15.25 large). It comes with steak, well done beef flank, tendon, and tripe. The meat was soft, and the noodles were chewy. However, the broth was too light and needed hoisin. This broth seemed to be made to complement it. Normally when the pho sucks, the soup just tastes like diluted hoisin, but this was not the case. The che lady was out when we came on a Sunday at 5:30pm, so we couldn't try it that day. read more

My boyfriend and I went here last night and ordered two bowls of Pho. When we first got there we weren't even greeted although their sign above the entrance says please wait to be seated. The bald headed guy that has a stop of hair in the middle of his head just pointed to a table without acknowledging us. Then we sat down and the server walked up to our table after five minutes and didn't even say hi or anything. We proceeded with telling him our orders and as we were talking he's chewing his gum so loudly and kept turning his head to watch tv, as we are talking to him/ordering!!! Then he didn't say anything just grabbed the menus and left. We brushed it off, whatever. Then about 10-15 min later they brought our food and didn't even say a word. Idk why but they don't like talking for some reason. Anyways, midst eating, they handed slammed the check on our table. We weren't even done yet and didn't even ask for the check to be given. Anyways, whatever. Our total came out to $39 for two bowls of Pho and we gave 18% of the tip by cash and walked out. As we were walking out we noticed the guy grabbed the tip and stayed showing it to the other customers, imitating that it wasn't much. Ok that was just so unprofessional but first off, no one acknowledged us, not one single word was spoken to my boyfriend and I but the server was talking to other tables and smiling, he slammed the check on our table while we were eating, etc. anyways the point being, the customer service sucks. I dined at this restaurant about 2 months ago and was pleased to find a delicious pho restaurant in this area. We ordered the oxtail pho and the beef ribs pho. The meat was very tender and both the dishes were good. I was on my way home and thought it would be nice to stop in and have dinner. I ordered the same oxtail pho, however, this time the meat was very hard and tough. I could not even bite it off the bone using my hands. The PHO served here was horrible. Ordered the Brisket and Steak Pho: Steak tough as leather; just terrible all around, from how it was cut THICK to the TEXTURE. Brisket was tasty but only one piece even though I ordered EXTRA meats. Meat was so awful I didn't care of the small portions. The BROTH tasted of instant powder! There's no way they boiled meat bones for hours with aromatics like how it's properly made- no way. Cha Gio ( fried egg rolls): How do you mess up fried pork and shrimp egg rolls? Sour meat filling! Parking is tricky in the area so best to have one person stay in the car while another person runs in to get the food. In Los Angeles, you can find many, many Pho restaurants and the menu is pretty much the same. What will differentiate the different locations is the food and service. Service wise, I think they could definitely do a better job. I know that everyone has their challenges with labor but that couldn't be a crutch anymore. Not too friendly and forgot my side of soup. He even brought double the water and utensils. With less than 10 people in the restaurant, being organized is important and they really need to be a little more organized. Now for the food...the broth was a little more rich than other places. Maybe because we opted to get the ox tail pho. The Bahn mi was actually tasty and it's all in the pork and bread. Both were really good and I even asked for more jalapeños, which I got. The shrimp/pork spring rolls were good and the peanut sauce was as well. I did ask for some fish sauce with peppers, which Vietnamese restaurants usually have available, but they only gave me the fish sauce. It's not really a good example for Phô in Los Angeles in general. Located in Glendale, Pho Hut is centrally convenient and open until 10pm. Both beef and chicken broth really lack the depth of flavor or fragrant as it should have. Although clean tasting, it isn't the best example. Noodles and other ingredients are fresh and well prepared. Both well cooked brisket and rare beef accompaniments are good. There is no Dac Biet version for their Bahn Mi sandwiches. Beef, chicken, and pork are your choices. Dining in is your better choice here. Take away orders seem like lighter portions. Even a larger option is specified. You'll get less unless you order extra. Do not get the Vietnamese coffee unless your taste is asking for an overly sweet artificial brown concoction. read more

This spot really feels like a mom and pop operation and the vibes are also right at home. It was pretty busy and there was only one guy who was hosting and taking orders and I think two guys from the back who would bring out the food. For them being busy and limited staff, I give props to the guy because he was attentive to all the tables, the phones, and the pick up orders all by himself. I ordered the fish pho, my favorite, shrimp and pork spring rolls and Thai tea without boba. Again, the fish pho is the best pho I had ever tasted. I never ever went back to meat pho after tasting their fish pho. It is so flavorful, light in the stomach and so tasty. In addition, I have never found a spring roll that beats theirs. Best pho I have had in the LA area. Great flavor to the seemingly never-ending bowl of broth! I typically don't like tripe flavor, but here it tastes great! We love coming to Pho Hut! Their portion size and price is very fair and just right. Their broth is delicious and very flavorful. Tonight we ordered to-go and when I got there I was a bit earlier then the promised time and they were very accommodating, asked me to take a seat and brought me water with lemon without me even asking, so thoughtful of them. We ordered a build your own Pho with steak, brisket and Flank. Can't go wrong with that hearty combo! Also switched it up and also got the protein (beef choice) with rice and vegetables (I'd call it more of a side salad). Also an order of our favorite pork and shrimp egg rolls. I asked for a lot of lines and siracha because we like our pho spicy with a kick of citrus and didn't even have to ask twice, they got it right :) - the inside of the restaurant is nothing special but it certainly is an old charm that is very clean. It is extra hot which I personally prefer so that it stays hot throughout the meal, but some may find it a little too hot. 4/5 MEATS - Pretty good quality; steak is a little chewy but their brisket and tendon are definitely good quality. 4/5 NOODLES - Standard pho noodles, they were just the right amount of chewy and not overcooked. 4/5 PRICING - $12.25 for a regular size pho, $13.50 for a large. Reasonable price in the general Los Angeles area. PARKING - Metered street parking only, it's in downtown Glendale on the busy street of Brand. But I'm usually able to find parking! OVERALL - This is definitely in my rotations for whenever I crave pho. The pho was excellent and travelled well. Broth super hot and the oxtail was tender - huge portions of both, even for a "large." A large with extra noodles can easily feed two or three people.
