You can tell it's a lovely family run and owned operation. We had a great time dining there felt very good to sit and dine in with other Asians. We ordered their Pho and vermicelli pork and egg roll bowl (As Bun Bo Xao.). It was so good. On a hot summer day in Pinellas Park, FL but we still wanted hot pho! We also had their spring rolls they were fresh and delicious. Their sauce was slightly different from what we use to having but I still liked it. Since there are so many vietnamese restaurants in the Pinellas park area, I tend to choose the restaurant that serves my favorite dishes. PKG as many of you know is famous for the bun bo hue (spicy beef noodle soup) however, I particularly love the Pho. You can order a small or large bowl but even a small is enough for one person because they give you so much in one portion. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I had to see what all the hype was with this place since this is supposedly the best pho in the area. The only thing I care about when it comes to pho is their broth. I love me a clear broth. This place did not disappoint. The broth was clear and flavorful. They had a variety of meat in their special pho, which is what I ordered. In town on business and needed a pho fix after a few days of bad (but tastes so good) eating. The storefront isn't much, but that's deceiving. Inside is clean, well lit and well laid out. Staff was friendly and efficient. Lots of different items on the menu in addition to pho. Pho had great flavour, but not as much protein as I'm used to. But to be fair, it was also $2 cheaper than the one I get at home. I got the small serving and it was enough for me. The large serving looks to be almost double. There are 2 bowls on shelves on the wall so you can decide quickly. Was slightly disappointed in the fried pork egg rolls. Slightly overcooked and really quite oily. Looking past that, it seemed to be pretty good. Chicken wings looked awesome, but I didn't get any. No way I could have eaten that too in addition to what I already had. This was our first time at this restaurant. I expected more. The space has a cafeteria-like feel. We were greeted promptly & our server came immediately. I had assumed they would have beer & wine at least, but they only had beer. Not my beverage of choice. I got the the chicken Pho, my husband a shrimp & veggie dish. My husband liked his, but mine was bland. It was served with basil, lime & bean sprouts. I make this dish at home & it's far superior to this one. I added Hoisun & Sriracha, but it needed cilantro & more spice. After eating, no one came to clear our table or ask us if we wanted anything else. We must have sat for a half hour when I finally went to the cashier and asked to have the table cleared & a check to be brought. I used the restroom before leaving & it really needs a thorough cleaning. That, to me, is a turnoff of epic proportion. If you're looking for really good Vietnamese food, this isn't it. I travel at least once a month to this area for work. Pho Kien Giang is my go to for Vietnamese food. My musts are spring rolls and Vietnamese coffee or freshly squeezed limeade. I feel like I've tried it all including the pho, hu tieu, bun thit nuong, canh chua, ca kho, cha gio, mi xao thap cam. All are good. One tip I'd add is to hire more help. It tends to get pretty busy during lunchtime. Besides that, order away! read more

In humid, muggy Florida, entering any restaurant with air conditioning felt like a godsend. While it looks bland on the outside, as just another establishment in a strip mall, Pho Kien Giang is surprisingly cute on the inside, with soft blues, purples, and flowery tablecloths. The menu here has all the usual items. Most types of pho are $7.25, and an additional 75 cents for a large. It seemed a little pricey for pho in a small city, but still affordable. I had to concede that the garnishes looked beautiful. Bright green leaves and limes, including saw leaf! All our entrees came in about 10 minutes. We had a party of 6, which seemed like a better test of the restaurant's abilities. I changed it up a little and ordered pho tai, bo vien, sach (mostly because pho tai nam wasn't on the menu). There was no sach (tripe), so I don't know if they forgot it, or if the server didn't hear me properly. That was a disappointment, but I didn't feel like having them bring me some on the side. Even though I said I didn't need it, another member of the party started to ask a server about it. "Sometimes it blends in with the noodles," he said, and my dad and I kind of rolled our eyes. Uh, excuse me, I would know if there was tripe in my pho or not. It doesn't take an expert to dig through the bowl. On the plus side, the portion sizes here are huge! My regular size bowl would have been a large in many Vietnamese restaurants, and my dad's large was gigantic. Now I know why it seemed pricey. I thought the broth was pretty good, a little on the sweet side, but my dad didn't like it. He didn't come close to finishing his monster-size bowl, either (but who can blame him?). The noodles were firmer than I would like, and the meat was a little bland, so overall it wasn't a very good bowl of pho. Just a decent tasting big bowl with really good garnishes. It's unlikely I'll ever be in the area again, though. Went to Bich Nga but they were closed so this was the second stop. Arrived about 45 mins before they were closing. They seemed like they needed additional help in the front of house. 1/2 of the tables still had dirty dishes while the other half were filled with customers. It was about 15 mins before they took our order and our drinks took equally as long as they came out after the appetizers. They forgot one persons drink and we had to get up to get additional napkins since they didn't check on us. For this service was 4/10. I started with the egg rolls. They were crispy and straight out of the grease hot! Flavor was average as I've had better....7.5/10. My entree was the large combination pho. I forgot the exact # on the menu. The broth had a good depth of flavor. It was a good portion size for the price. The only complaint I could find was the tendons in the dish were a bit tougher than I liked...9.5/10. I listened to Yelp and decided to give this strip mall joint a try. Wow was it good! Tried the Pho with steak and meatballs and the flavor of the broth and meat was amazing. Pho Kien Giang is a mom and pop restaurant that has amazing flavors. We tried the pho chai (broth is not vegan) and it was some of the best I've had. They have 2 size bowl and my where the bowls big. I ordered a small and that was more than enough, but for all you pho loving folks out there, there's a LARGE!! And it's Yuge. I Also, tried the Gum sum Nung (pork-chop and rice) and the pork-chop was rather large, rice was well, rice and the veggies where fresh. On vacay here with the fam and found this place to get some pho fix. It was surprisingly delicious. I highly recommend the spring rolls. It's hands down the best spring rolls I've had. The pork is flavored, which brings the taste up by several notches. The beef pho, chicken pho, and soda & eggs were all fantastic. My only complaint is about the MSG as I had a huge MSG headache afterwards (common when eating pho). For most folks, that's not an issue, but for suckers like me who love to eat but are allergic to MSG, it's the price we pay for trying out new places. I recommend this place for sure! read more

Came here based on the recommendation of ALL of my friends on the best Pho spot in the area. Was also told the Bun Bo Hue was exceptional... We ordered the spring rolls and also the fried egg rolls as appetizers. They were OK. Definitely not the best I've had, but nothing to complain about. The sauce for the spring rolls seemed a little thin (watery) and sweeter than what we are used too. Do they put honey in this sauce here? For the main courses, we had Pho Tai Bo Vien, Bun Bo Hue, and the broken rice with pork and all the fixins dish. The pork and rice was phenomenal. The pork was rich in flavor and had that nice char to it. The Pho was also excellent. Definitely one of the best in the area. I was a little disappointed in my Bun Bo Hue though. Wasn't spicy enough for my tastes, and the broth wasn't as rich and flavorful as what im generally used to. Of course, what I'm generally used to though, is my mother in laws Bun Bo Hue. And we all know how that goes. Everyone's mom makes the best versions... The portions were large (we got the up sized bowls for only .75 cents more) and prices were great. Lots of the local viet community coming in and out, so that's always a good sign. When I was finally seated they were very apologetic and once I ordered they insisted that they will not charge me for my spring rolls for being so patient. (I would actually give it three but my husband says that's too harsh because the pho was really good.) The women's room was out of order so I had to use the men's room.
