We came early on a Wednesday night and were the only ones here. What was good and bad? First let me say, we asked for help with ordering. The server couldn't understand why I was confused. I said I wanted the braised pork wide flat noodle and showed him the photo on Yelp. He told me to select stir-fry, then spicy pork flat noodle. I explained I didn't want spicy, he said it's not spicy then pushed the "less spicy" option. When the dish arrived, you could see the red peppers and it definitely was spicy! It was tasty but very spicy! My husband got the Mongolian beef which he said was good - he selected "no spicy". The only downside was it does not come with rice. Just Mongolian beef and lots of onions. We also ordered the bbq bao - do not order this - the dough was really "off" in both texture and flavor. I literally spit it out as did my husband. We'd come back but we'd be better prepared to order and we'd be way more cautious with what we order.

This was back in 2024, I hope they've improved their cleanliness/food quality by now.

The spring roll set comes with 4 sheets of rice paper, fresh veggies (lettuce, basil, cucumber, pickled carrots), rice noodles, your choice of protein (we chose pork sausage), and dipping sauce. The pho broth was flavorful and the noodles were cooked perfectly. The spring rolls came out amazing and were so filling. My only suggestion would be to have the carrots shredded instead of sliced to get a more even distribution within the spring rolls. But overall it was a fantastic meal. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

I really do enjoy the taste of Pho, however this is my first time trying Pho King Good. Not much flavor in the meal and I am upset with my overall experience. After 2 bites of his pho, my father had an allergic reaction to the amount of Monosodium glutamate added in the soup. After he almost choked from puking, the host did not bother to comp the meal or genuinely show any signs of sympathy. He was actually kind of creepy, too. ' I will not recommend this place to anyone. At the end, when my dad was waiting for me outside, the host admitted that his reaction must be related to MSG. After some research of symptoms MSG includes; chest pain, headaches, burning sensation, puking, numbness... Enough said. My dad has been exposed a lot of ethnic foods too - so spice/flavor and cultural food isn't anything new for him! Seeing his face turn purple from the poison really made me realize that MSG is a real problem with the "flavoring" concept with these Vietnamese restaurants. Next time you want some Pho at Pho King Good, ask for NO MSG. read more

The name at first almost put me off, I thought it would be a cheap and not so good place, but I was hungry and wanted Pho, and it was close. Well, all I can say is WOW!!! I had (I believe 304) which was the seafood rice noodle soup and I tell you this... it was delish! The broth was amazing, and it had a fair amount of seafood (squid, fish balls and such) in the large bowl and they served the veggies on a tray, so they'd stay fresh and not get soggy on the way to the table. Had a large amount of tables and booths, though not the most comfortable, as they are all wood and formica, and the chairs at the tables are standard restaurant black chairs, what Pho King lacks in visual attractiveness, it really makes up for in food taste and quality. I am from California but I would assume that good food would taste like good food. I was in Portland for a day and I was craving Vietnamese food. I was near this spot so I thought I'd give it a try! I got bun Bo hue which is spicy hue noodle. The meat given in the bowl had no taste. The noodle was over cooked and the broth did not have enough flavors. My boyfriend had gotten the number 1 pho and he also said there no was no taste in his broth. We also ordered egg rolls which were overcooked. Two stars for good service and for being a clean place. I understand that, to provide some of the most reasonable prices in the area for this type of cuisine, concessions must be made in other areas.
