After our group hike, we had planned to have lunch here. The restaurant is located in a strip mall next to a high school. We were trying to get to the parking lot but the students were letting out for the day and with parents picking up their kids and students crossing the street, it took a while. We wanted to try the hand-pulled noodles and didn't realize this was one of five locations with the others at Milpitas, Cupertino, San Mateo and Valley Fair. There were no patrons when we arrived at 2pm and the waitress directed us to a table for six. The waitress said we scan the QR on the napkin box for the menu. The menu consisted of noodle soups, dry and fried noodles, appetizers and grill items. You place your order through the QR. We all went will noodle soup items. You can choose small round, regular round, medium round, small flat, large flat, belt flat and knife cut noodles. There's a kitchen window where you can see the chef making the hand pulled noodles. Each of us placed our own orders so when the orders are brought out, they use the last four digits of the cell phone number to identify the person whose dish it was. I had the braised beef noodle soup and opted for the large flat noodles. The dish has one pepper on the menu but the broth only had a very small amount of heat. The large flat noodles were a little too thick to my preference and might opt for round noodles next time. The beef was tender and the broth was tasty. Service was efficient and waitresses came around to refill water cups. Will try again if I'm in the area.

We dined in for a Sunday lunch with a party of 6 and were seated right away. Ordering is done via QR code on your smartphone, but the waitress noticed we were with our grandparents so they provided paper menus without us needing to ask. Service was very fast and I liked the large window to the kitchen where we can observe the chefs hand pulling our noodles. Lamb and beef skewers: Probably my favorite thing we ate, even though they are known for their noodle soups lol. Meat was very flavorful and tender; if you like cumin this is for you. Lanzhou hand pulled noodles: The noodle soup was very hearty with lots of noodles cooked al dente. You get to choose the size of your noodles and I went with round medium. In the future, I would probably order round small bc the medium was a bit chewy for my liking. Note: Knife-cut noodles were extremely hard to chew because they are very thick and irregular shaped. Was not a fan of the texture.

Great place for fresh cut noodle soup and skewers. When the hubby and I can't decide which one we want more, we go here and get both. They serve tiny skewers of lamb, beef, tofu, etc but plenty of them in an order. I especially like their tofu skewers. Their dry and soup noodles are tasty as well.

I got the Lanzhou hand pulled noodles belt style. The texture of the noodles was amazing. It had a nice bite to it. The next time, I would just try the fat noodles bc the broth quickly soaks into the belt style noodles. I think belt noodles are best for drier noodles dishes. It was still good though. The broth had a nice light umami taste to it. I paired it with their super fire OX chili oil. I can drink that oil. It was out of pure embarrassment that I didn't. My friend was kind enough to order the cucumber and beef skewers. They were more a 4/5. For me, the cucumber was a little underwhelming and could use more vinegar and spice. The beef skewers were great, but it wasn't spicy enough. However, for my American friend, it was way too spicy for her to handle, so I think it's a matter of preference. Overall, it's a nice place to try out local Chinese food.

I came to the Fremont location of Ox 9 for the first time since they were participating in Fremont Restaurant Week! I got lamb skewers, cucumber salad, and two noodle soups with my friends and I for $40. What a steal! The service is incredibly quick- we got the braised beef noodle and Lanzhou handpulled noodle. Incredibly filling meal, everything is standout about their noodle soup dish! The noodles are QQ, the broth is light, the chili oil is aromatic, and the veggies are fresh. There's no shortage of beef in these soups either, especially when compared to most Chinese restaurants. We loved the cumin lamb skewers and that they added the right amount of spice to our meal, the lamb isn't too gamey or fatty! Just the perfect texture and flavor. Definitely try this spot if you have the chance to! Nothing beats a good old fashioned hand pulled noodle soup craving.

Jajangmen was meh. I guess I prefer more meat and more Korean Chinese style but the regular round Noodle was chewy. The noodle soup pickled beef was ok but the soup taste can be better. Tea stew egg tasted funny? The cumin beef Chinese burger has too much cumin string taste. The lamb skewers were ok but the chicken bone skewers were really good! The steam bun meat did not have much meat. I look forward to try the knife cut Noodle stir fry next time. It was hot inside so I wished they turn on their AC cooler

Restaurant week 2026! Restaurant week is bomb dot com as it exposes you to places you wouldn't otherwise have tried. They had a combo of 2 noodle dishes (of your choice), cucumber appetizer and THREE lamb skewers for $39.99! Because of this deal, it's now one of my mom's go to places. FOOD: ***They are known for their clear broth with radishes as this is what started it all.*** However, we have yet to try this. We ordered the pickled beef noodle soup (spice level can't be changed). Bok choy is fresh. Beef is nicely done (not tough). Pickled veggies are a nice crunch. Limited options for dry noodles...doesn't seem as worthwhile as their noodle soups. ***On the napkin holders / next to the QR code, there's a picture of the noodles thickness. Check it out before ordering because the size will definitely surprise you*** I love love love their chili wontons/spicy wontons. Only complaint is waaaayyy too much sauce. It's slightly sweeter than spicy in flavor but definitely popping with so much flavor. Skewers are amazing!! Three lamb skewers = $7.50 whereas three beef skewers = $6.99 ***I do highly recommend the skewers. They are waaaaayyy better than the ones you purchase at festivals and exceeds many other restaurants with skewers in quality around the area. Not too fatty and so full of flavor! SERVICE: definitely China vibes. Speaks Mandarin Chinese but able to communicate in English. Their service is SOOOO fast. Dishes come out almost immediately; ***THEREFORE IF YOU ARE HANGRY, this is a go to place! Sooooo cool that they literally and freshly stretch out your noodles (which you can see via the window). They clear dishes only once you leave and not at all while you are sitting there. You order via QR code. They don't really check up on you and ask if you need anything. You have to wave them down or go to them if you need anything. VIBEZ: Large restaurant. Love the decor. Casual dining and great for large groups. Located in the plaza with Naga's kitchen, an Indian supermarket, BingBing... Parking is tight with 60 minutes spaces and 15 minutes. Free but not complicated. Would I come back? Yes.

Over this most recent winter when the rain has been pouring for weeks straight, I was able to find some time to try these Lanzhou hand pulled noodles that I had heard so much about. Located in a little plaza/strip mall in Fremont, this spot is surprisingly convenient with ample parking spots and interior seating (which gives a modern look almost similar to the new wave of food hubs/courts that have opened up around these types of suburbs). We were seated and got to order quickly despite most of the restaurant being full, so props to the staff for their attention. We ordered a few items to share: Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles (Wide): 5/5 Incredible texture on the noodles and great broth with a ton of beef and chili oil to bring it altogether. Chili Oil Wontons: 4.5/5 Tons of chili oil and wontons filled with juicy pork that paired incredibly well with their black vinegar. Cumin Lamb Skewers: 1000/5 Both my girlfriend and I deemed these skewers as some of the best bites of meat we have ever had. The seasoning was on point and the lamb was charred to perfection, with none of the gaminess that sometimes is associated with it. Must have any time we swing by. Chili Oil + Black Vinegar: 5/5 the star of the night for us as we were dipping anything and everything into their house made chili oil to the point where when we asked for boxes for our leftovers, they also gave us some extra containers of oil and black vinegar to take home that we still have been using on a bunch of other meals as well. Next time we might have to buy some of the chili oil that they sell at the counter. One of my favorite meals of 2025 to end the year for sure.

Came here for lunch on Xmas day and the place was clean and staff were friendly. The portion of the noodle was huge! Lots of noodles, hope there was more broth Taste was good and we also had the pork bun which was delicious.

Interesting history to this regional cuisine for hand-pulled noodle soups. This is 1 of several locations around the bay area, which one has received a "Michelin recommended" recognition. Their broth (with about 28 ingredients) is simmered for 6 hours apparently. Ordered their pork rib knife cut noodle soup and a steamed scallop with garlic appetizer. They definitely loaded up the scallop with plenty of garlic! Yet I enjoyed it and my noodle soup lunch very much. Broth had that depth of flavor and noodles had a nice texture. Pork ribs were fall-off-the-bone too. Would stop in for another bowl when back in the area.

TLDR: For the last 5 years or so, I'd have random chili oil noodle cravings and Ox 9's is the only place that ever truly satisfied my craving. So, on Sunday, I looked up the Milpitas location and google told me it was permanently closed ToT I almost cried, but lucky for me there was one in Fremont. The flavors pair so nicely together and it really is a comfort food type of place for me, so I recommend. Food: 4.5/5 The chili oil noodles (wide noodles) were tasty and hit the spot for me. I have yet to be disappointed by an Ox 9 location for the chili oil noodles. I always pair it with the chili oil wonton for some protein/meat. There is an option with beef, but I think the wonton more worth it because I love dumplings :P My friend got the braised beef knife cut noodles, which didn't have anything super special about it, but was nice for a cold day. I would agree, the other times I got it at other locations, it was tasty, but it didn't quite hit the spot for me. We also tried the thai teas and were pleasantly surprised it was super sweet. It is on the sweeter side, but it wasn't in your face (coming from someone who orders 30% sweetness at every tea shop that will let me). Staff/Space: 4/5 It was a small space with decent ability to host various sized groups, just not too many of the same sized groups. The parking lot is also pretty tiny, so we ended up parking in the street at the neighboring homes just down the street. The staff was nice for the few moments we interacted with as you order from a QR code and can request the bill from it as well. The food came out pretty fast like a 10-15min or so wait for all of the food to come out.

The lamb skewers were the best I had. But I was expecting the red chili oil noodles to be better. I like the chili oil noodles from Highland noodles in Milpitas more. The ground pork noodles were good though. Food and ambience were both good, and the service was first but everything felt a bit rushed. The staff didn't give us a relaxing vibe.

Not the best noodles in town, at least not to me. Others suggested this place after Mingle Mango. It was just ok. The grilled scallop with garlic vermicelli was absolutely delicious. It is definitely worth revisiting. The price was reasonable too. For the noodle dish, I opted for the Chili oil handpulled noodles. Everything was fresh, but not epic. Here's What I Think...I'll definitely be back for the scallop dish. YUM!

The service was quick and attentive, and the restaurant itself was nicely decorated. The best thing we ordered was the Sizzling Yellow Croaker with Fried Garlics (9/10). The fish was super crispy, and the sweet, garlicky skin was incredibly addictive. I would 100% order this every time I come back. We also had the Shredded Cabbage with Sliced Pork (8/10), which was nice and tangy. The cabbage soaked up all the sauce, making every bite packed with flavor, while the pork provided a great contrast to the vegetables. The House Special Fried Rice with Pickle & Beef (7/10) wasn't anything extraordinary, but it served as a great base alongside the other dishes. The pickles were an interesting addition, as I've never had fried rice prepared that way before, but I definitely enjoyed it. Finally, we decided to try the House Special Spicy Frog in Stone Pot (6.5/10) since most of us had never had frog before. The flavor was outstanding, with a great umami depth and just the right amount of spice. The frog itself was a little difficult to eat because of the large number of bones, but the meat was tender and juicy. Replacing the frog with another protein probably would have made it more favorable, but I still enjoyed trying something new and didn't regret ordering it. Overall, Ping's Bistro is a great spot for outstanding Chinese food. Every dish we tried was enjoyable, and there are still so many items on the menu I'd love to come back and explore. The prices are on the higher side, but the quality and flavor make up for it. I'll definitely be back.

If I were to sum up my meal in one word, I can do it easily: salty. Every dish I've tried today was…read moreincredibly salty. Though I prefer my food a little bit more flavorful, Ping's Bistro really shot every single flavor up. The Steamed pork belly with preserved vegetables was served first, and without a doubt, is one of the spiciest. It's a good size for sharing, but the preserved vegetables on the bottom was mushy and came in a very small portion. Though supposed to be a part of the dish, seemed to be thrown in just for some extra flavor. Though I selected mild spiciness for the Spicy Boiled Fish, it was still REALLY spicy. Maybe it's my spice intolerance, but this dish lights a fire in your mouth. Also, this dish is mala, so it numbs your mouth. Some people may enjoy this sensation, but it's a pass for me. The fish was really soft and tender though. The fish was my favorite part of the Spicy Boiled Fish. Not only there is fish underneath, it was surprising to see other ingredients like lotus, vermicelli noodles, and much more. The salted egg covered pork was extremely salty and oily. I was surprised to know it was boneless, and I felt like the salted egg crust is too thin, which let the taste of the pork overthrow any type of salted egg taste. The Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus was again one of my preferred dishes, though it was extremely oily. I really liked the egg, black fungus, and bell peppers in this dish. The eggs and black fungus were soaked with flavor and the bell peppers balanced out the heaviness. The pork was also alright, but more on the tougher side. If you were to come to Ping's Bistro, I would advise you to order the Country Style Sautéed Pork with Eggs and Black Fungus. The floors were really sticky, but other than that, everything was alright. The water was poured messily, but I guess it's no big thing. The staff were really quiet and avoided interaction. When they serve your dish, they never wait an extra second before they leave for any questions or requests. They just drop the dish and zoom away. From my review, just remember: saltiness. I'm not convinced that I'll come back again, but I'm glad I tried it out.

When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. We started with the One Piece Mixed Salad (tofu skin, vermicelli noodles, woodear mushrooms, carrots, celery, seaweed, and peanuts, all mixed in a savory, acidic, and spicy dressed ) and the Shredded Potato Salad, both of which made for nice appetizers. We also had the Cold Skin Noodles (Liangpi), a bowl of wide, chewy noodles mixed with a savory sauce and topped with tofu puffs, shredded cucumber , bean sprouts, and a creamy sesame sauce. Hailing from Xi'an, the Braised Pork Pita Burger was fatty pieces of pork braised in a savory sauce, served in a dry round of "pita," but even better was the Spicy Cumin Lamb Pita Burger, which contained a tantalizingly spicy, flavorful filling of tender spiced lamb. The Signature Beef Bone Noodle Soup came with noodles in a simple broth, topped with three bone-in beef ribs. The meat on the ribs was rather tough and sinewy, and the soup on the bland side, but the presentation of the dish was definitely impressive. Finally, the House Special Braised Dry Noodle was a bowl of noodles topped with a savory sauce with lots of different dried ingredients including tofu, s mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and red bell peppers. I love the el dente texture of the noodles giving it a bit of chew. My braised pork belly dry noodles was not dry... very watery which was not to my liking. I want my dry noodles with as little gravy as possible. The flavor was light despite all the gravy, but the veggies and one egg made it up. The house special dry noodles had just the right amount of gravy for taste but not enough ingredients. I was wondering why the restaurant is called One Piece... I guess the entire bowl of noodles is one piece noodle as it was hard to eat as all the noodles are tangled. No complaints here just need to be careful with the splashes on your shirt.
