I ordered rare beef and brisket pho and spring rolls. The pho portion was relatively small overall but they were generous with the amount of meat. They pre-portion the veggie plate and its a bit skimpy but you can probably ask for more. The spring rolls were solid. Good size and lots of filling. The sauce was good as well. The sriracha was really weird. I think they water it down. A bunch of water came out and the texture and flavor was off. Further, adding water messes with the preservatives ratios so I don't think this is safe at all since its kept at room temp all day. read more

Everytime I'm sick, I would always order takeout from Pho Gia Long, but I never actually dined in. That is, until yesterday. I came in during a Monday evening to an empty restaurant adorned with paintings of what I assume to be places in Vietnam. Though I've never been, the artwork really gives off a comforting atmosphere. To top it all of, they have a statue of the Virgin Mary right near the cash register almost overlooking the entire restaurant. Since I sat right in her eyesight, you know ya boi had to pay respects by saying grace before the meal. Speaking of the meal, I had Pho Meatball. Not sure if it was just because I was hella congested and just needed some brothy goodness, but that really hit the spot. I didn't even use any Sriracha and my sinuses opened up like the Red Sea when Moses parted it. It tasting great was just the cherry on top. So yeah, the Pho clearing my nose and the soup cleaning up the build up in me absolutely made me a new man. Is this what they mean by eastern medicine? While I don't recommend Pho Gia Long as a complete substitution for a hospital, I'll say it does exactly what it needs to for anybody seeking some of that brothy goodness. read more

I ordered a Báhn Mì and for the size of the sandwich and price, I gave it 4 stars. Customer service was friendly and quick. The place looked clean on the inside and very nicely decorated to fit the restaurant and the food it serves. My Báhn Mì was great, until I realized that this sandwich 100% needs some kind of sauce to go with it. It was nearly dry, but the chicken was juicy enough to manage eating the sandwich. The sandwich itself is just over $10 w/o tip. I can't say that this will be my go to stop for Báhn Mì sandwiches, but it definitely wont be the first option. I might just splurge the additional $$ and go somewhere else. I would still give this place another shot considering this might've been a one-off. Maybe the beef or pork will have a bit more flavor. Really good Pho! Cute location in the end of a strip mall you walk in and it reminds you of being inside of w house. They have a cute chandelier too. A Vietnamese restaurant that's truly a mom and pop shop. It has the vibe as if you are eating at a family house, as your "aunty" serves you food. Had the vermicelli and tastes the pho, and both were authentic and delicious. Ordered: #47 Rice with diced Garlic Steak The beef was overcooked and hard to chew. Some of the meats were burned too. #17 Combo Pho - Pho dac biet Soup was ok, but not that great. #16 Vermicelli with Lemongrass Beef - Bun Bo. The flavor was good, but it was very dry and not juicy. #33 Rice with Grilled Chicken - It was lacking flavor. I didn't expect much looking at the location of this spot and not hearing much about it but desperate times.. had to pick up pho as close as possible. Ordered for takeout and brought it home to eat. They separated the broth from the ingredients without me requesting, which is a good sign. The noodles were not overcooked and the charbroiled pork was good. I really love how I was able to choose a veggie broth for my veggie tofu pho. Most Vietnamese places don't give you this choice, so I really appreciated the fact that they had that. They're very quick and efficient. I came here after getting a massage right next door. I figured a bowl of pho would be perfect! Its a small shop in the corner of the plaza. It definitely did not have the hustle and bustle of pho restaurants in little Saigon, but I can appreciate the quietness. There were probably 4 other parties the 20 minutes I was here, which was an hour before closing. I ended up getting the seafood pho and a vietnamese iced coffee. My order came out in less than 3 minutes. I havent had pho for awhile. It's decent tasting considering its in orange. The squid is a bit too chewy and the veggie serving is skimpy. Iced coffee was okay too since I was pretty thirsty. The one worker here is nice and polite and we had a short conversation while I was paying. I wonder to myself why she doesn't work at busier restaurants for more tips. I paid about $22 for my meal including tips and was on my way. I do like that they have shrimp, seafood, tofu/vegan options for people who want to eat pho. Be aware though that their pho broth may still be made from beef so make sure you ask especially if you're ordering the vegan one. read more

Arrived on a Monday night and were seated right away. With the high level of reviews, my expectations were higher than normal but even if I hadn't read reviews, I would have been disappointed anyway. General quality is basic or below basic. My combo pho had excellent rich broth but I can't stand when you order rare beef and then submerge it into the broth before they even serve it so it's completely dead on arrival. Not rare anymore. The extras were the smallest I've ever seen (see pic). Shrimp rolls and egg rolls pretty regular - if anything on the drier side and we had to ask for peanut sauce on the second order when they forgot to bring it out. The broth was beautiful, all add in ingredients were fresh and very tasty. The spring rolls were very fresh and delicious with the peanut sauce. My favorite go-to pho spot. Always get chicken pho and the shrimp wrap are always good with the peanut sauce. They have fried rice options that are good as well. Only they need new cups because the ones they gave me was dirty or just bruised up, that even if it clean, it doesn't look like it. Invest in new cups & utensils. It was a cold night the other night and my partner suggested soup, I said how about some Pho, she always agrees on that. We have a few spots we go to in my neighborhood, but seeing as we were in Orange a quick yelp search for spots with filet mignon pho yielded this little gem. We went a little later than expected and were informed they closed in 20 minutes, I said we both know what we want, and ordered. A couple things I felt were different at this place that I really enjoyed was the sauce selection on the table, first of all Hoisin and Siracha of course, but also a chili oil which is like I would say 50/50 at other places, usually if you ask they have it though, but also another spicy red sauce. Napkins on the table along with chopsticks and silverware including forks. I know this is blasphemy for some but I am very white and eat my pho with a fork. So it was nice to have it right there. The interior is lovely, very warm and cozy with exposed wood ceilings, and big windows facing out. Perfect for a rainy day in my book. The price was very reasonable for the portion, and I mean I got as much if not more meat and noodles in my bowl than I have anywhere else. Ending of the story, we now have a Pho spot near her house, and I look forward to the next visit. read more

Was craving Pho on a cold winter night so me and my friend decided to give this place a try! The place was very clean but very quiet. Maybe they should add some background music. We ordered 2 bowls of pho and some egg rolls. The egg rolls were very good! 10/10! And the pho broth was very flavorful. The bowls look small but they are filled! First time visiting and I'll be honest, we didn't know what to do when we walked in the door. There was no signage that said "Please Wait to be Seated" or "Please Seat Yourself" and there was no employee to be found! The counter is at the back of the small dining room but we saw menus on the tables so decided to seat ourselves. We saw the one person working bring out some food for people waiting, probably phone orders? She then brought out some food for others already seated, but completely ignored us each time. We seriously almost got up and left not feeling good about the place. The waitress finally came over, bringing us water, and taking our order so we decided to stay. The dining room has very basic furniture and no carpet or anything with fabric so it echoes when you talk. It wasn't very busy but I can imagine it gets loud in there when busy. The main difference I noticed from other Vietnamese restaurants is they actually wait until everyone's food is ready before bringing it out. That's something I like, but it also gives the impression they are slow. They are also more expensive than other Pho restaurants in Orange County, However, that was explained when we received the food as it was quite a bit larger servings than we're used to. The presentation was also better than average. For example, they throw an easy over egg over the top of the cup of rice. I had pork chops, which is one of my usuals, and they gave me three pieces where I'm sued to only two. Sadly, they were just OK. They didn't suck, but they didn't wow me either.
